MARK
Chapter 15

Caution to students of God's Word - Please remember two things when using our studies: #1. Our commentary is not God's Word. It is only our interpretation or understanding of "His Word" and even though we try our best to be accurate we may or may not be correct. #2. The King James translation, or any other translation, of the original Hebrew text has some words which were given different translations at different places probably because of the interpreters preconceived ideas of what they think God meant to say. For example: According to the notes in the "Dake's Annotated Reference Bible" the Hebrew word hayah in the KJV is Trans. (became) 67 times, (becamest or came to pass) 505 times, (become) 66 times, and (come to pass) 131 times, but for some reason in Genesis 1:2 it is translated (was)! That sure changes the way a person perceives the original creation of the earth, doesn't it?  Gen. 1:2 And the earth was (became) without form, ... Having said that, let us continue with our "Key Knowledge" lessons. These are pamphlets containing knowledge, we believe, you must have to fully and accurately unlock and understand the Word of God.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 16:13-14
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

MARK

Chapter 15

"The Lord before Pilate [2-15]."
"Personal abuse of Christ [16-23]."
"The CRUCIFIXION [24-39]."
"The BURIAL [40-16:8]."

Mark 15:1 "And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate."

This is the morning following the betrayal by Judas, and the denial by Peter and the other disciples. As we read in the prior chapter, the chief priests and scribes had gone through their hearings, and in a rage hit, spit upon, and struck our Lord over and over. Now "straightway", in the morning hours before sunrise, these chief priests called in the entire council of elders and scribes to drum up the charges that they would use when they brought Jesus before Pilate. To hold consultation, or holding a council in this manner was illegal according to Scripture, and by Roman law.

This trial was illegal by God's law, because the next day was the Sabbath, and not only was it a Sabbath, but it was the high Sabbath of the Passover. Keep in mind that these Kenites could care less about God's laws and instructions, for they had replaced the laws of God with their own traditions and false teachings and held those laws over the laws of God. We are not talking about brother Judah here but the Kenites, those offspring of Cain, the son of Satan, that Jesus addressed in John 8:44.

John 8:44 "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh  a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."

The sin in the garden of Eden was from the sexual union between Satan, the man, and Eve. It was from this act that the child "Cain" was born. Adam took part in that sin orgy also, and thus there were twins born; one was the son of Satan, the devil in his role of serpent [deceiver], and the other son "Abel" was from the flesh man "Adam". Cain was the first of the twins to be born, and Abel followed, when Eve continued in labor.

Live Link to- What happened in the garden

So when Jesus was addressing these same chief priests, scribes and Pharisees and calling them of their father the devil, he knew exactly who and what their lineage was, and that they are not of brother Judah, of Israel, or Abraham, but Nethinims, strangers that assumed the role of the Levital priests down through the years, and now these strangers to God are standing in judgment of our Lord, and using their heathen set of rules/traditions to pass judgment on our Lord Jesus Christ.

Though all this was taking place, remember that Christ Himself would say, as it is recorded in Hebrews 10:7; " (Then said I, Lo, I come in the volume of the book it is written of Me) to do Thy will, O God." Jesus came to fulfill the prophecies of the entire Word of God from Genesis to Revelation. Though these priests and scribes were not aware that every part of their actions were written hundreds of years prior, and they were fulfilling God's Word.

Hebrews 10:8 "Above when He said, "Sacrifice and Offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin Thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein;" which are offered by the law."

Paul is quoting here from Psalms 40:6-8. What our Lord is saying in Psalms was "I don't want your animal offerings and your sacrifices, but I want your love."

Hebrews 10:9 "Then said He, "Lo, I come to do Thy will, O God." He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second."

God took away the need for the "first" blood sacrifices and ordinances when His Son went to the cross. That was the establishment of the "second". He took them away because the blood of Christ paid the price once, and for all times. God did not take away the law, but the blood sacrifices and those things that were required under those ordinances. No animal blood sacrifice can send the Holy Spirit, for those things are dead and gone.

Jesus blood now provides us with redemption and forgiveness from sin. As Jesus was delivered up at this time before these Kenites in the Temple, and later delivered to Pilate, Jesus is fulfilling all the prophecies of the Old Testament concerning God's plan from the beginning. These religious leaders are taking Jesus from their religious courts that had arrested Jesus on false religious charges, and Jesus was then brought to Pilate the Roman governor for this area. The charges of these Kenites before Pilate would be civil charges.

Pilate did not think of these charges before him in the same manner as the religious leaders charged. However as the governor, Pilate knew that what ever he does, it must be done in order to keep peace with the people.

Mark 15:2 "And Pilate asked Him, "Art Thou the King of the Jews?" And He answering said unto him, "Thou sayest it."

Try to understand what is being said here. The charges have been given by these religious leaders to Pilate, and Pilate turned to Jesus and asked Him outright, "Art Thou the King of the Jews?" As far as Pilate is concerned, there can only be one king, and he sits in Rome, and he of course was Caesar. So to claim to be this king would automatically be the death penalty. So what did Christ tell Pilate? I didn't say that, you're the one that said it. There certainly is no sin in that.

In the first place, Christ is king of all Israel, not just the portion of little old tribe of Judah, from the former "House of Judah", i,e, the southern kingdom, who now live back in the land that was formerly Judea and  now have these Kenite half-breeds mixed in with them. Jesus is King of all the tribes, all of Israel which includes the Israelites from the former "House of Isreal", i.e the former northern kingdom.

John's Note:  Remember these Jewish religious leaders, of that day, were not descended from Judah or Benjamin (Israelites from the former "House of Judah"). They were non Israelites descended from Cain, i.e. Kenites who had infiltrated the church back during its Babylonian captivity five centuries earlier.  This is also the case today in that little country in the middle east we now call Israel.

The above reference is to the House of Judah, not the House of Israel. The House of Judah was taken to Babylon during the conquering of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzor in 586BC, 135 years after the House of Israel plus tens of thousands of Israelites, of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin (also from the House of Judah) was captured by their Assyrian conquerors in 745-721 B.C. and taken captive and relocated below the Black and Caspian Seas. They were used by their Assyrian conquerors as a buffer state to ward off any advances by the Medes. Later migrating into western Europe and some of them on to the Americas. A word of caution: Don't confuse the two events, They are different, they happened 135 years apart, to two different nations, although both were nations made up of ancient Israelites.

Live Link to- Ancient Israelite migrations

Mark 15:3 "And the chief priests accused Him of many things: but He answered nothing."

These chief priests are standing before Pilate and sounding off with many accusations, and remember that this is one of the names of their father Satan. Satan the devil is "the accuser" of the brethren before the throne of God, and only God can see through those multitude of twisted lies and half truths because He knows the nature of Satan. This chief priest was playing the role of Satan, his father.

Mark 15:4 "And Pilate asked Him again, saying, "Answerest Thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against Thee."

Pilate again turns to Jesus after all the many charges that these chief priests have leveled against him, and Jesus spoke not a word. Remember that Christ is fulfilling prophecy as he listens to all these lies and charges, and says nothing.

Isaiah 53:7 "He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to "the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth".

Jesus was not trying to defend Himself, and Pilate does not want to crucify Jesus. In the light of Roman law, to Pilate Jesus has done nothing wrong and the law has not been broken. The problem here is with their religious practices. The point to be brought out here was that the religious problems stem from the differences between Kenite traditions and the laws of Moses which have taken the back seat to their traditions.

Pilate surely has heard of the many miracles that Christ has preformed, for there were many good works that were witnessed by many and the word got back to Pilate. Now Jesus stood before Pilate, and this crowd demanded that Jesus be put to death. Remember also that Pilate's wife had a dream the night before, and she told him, "Do not touch this good man."

Matthew 27:19 "When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, "Have nothing to do with that just Man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of Him."

So Pilate is caught between his wife whom he trusts considerably, for she has warned him that this was truly a godly man; and the religious leaders. However, there is also Caesar who looks at all of his subjects, and if Pilate his governor is not able to keep the peace in Jerusalem, there is a problem. These religious leaders are upset, and they have the people crying out for this man's life. So now put yourself in Pilate's shoes: Pilate is looking at Jesus and telling Him to protect Himself, they are accusing you of everything under the sun. This is a serious thing, so you had better open your mouth and defend yourself.

Mark 15:5 "But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled."

As Jesus stood there listened to the accusation thrown against Him, Jesus said nothing in His defense. Pilate looked down on Jesus from his judgment seat, and marveled with admiration and wonderment at this Man standing before him. Pilate knew that Jesus was a good man, and he knew of the many wonderful things that Jesus had done in the land that he governed. It was obvious to Pilate that Jesus was not afraid of death, and we know that every act and word spoken was fulfilling prophecy.

Mark 15:6 "Now at that feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired."

It was Pilate's custom to release one prisoner to the people on this special day of Passover. The Jews would select the prisoner and have that Roman prisoner released and turned over to them. This was the day of Atonement and Pilate's custom was to do this. It was an act to pacify; to please the people. So Pilate saw an opportunity to release Jesus through this act.

Mark 15:7 "And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection."

Barabbas was a criminal that had many followers, and his followers were a band that roamed the area murdering, and plundering. He was not only a blight on the Romans, but a terror to those living in the land of Judea. Pilate took the man with the most terrible reputation in the land, and gave the people a choice between the release of Jesus, or Barabbas. Surely, Pilate felt, the people aren't so stupid that they would chose Barabbas after all the damage he had done to them. This was Pilate's way out of a bad situation.

There is a lesson here for us, "Barabbas" in the Hebrew means "son of the father". So when we understand from John 8:44, as given above, he was a murderer and the son of Satan. This Barabbas was a son of Satan, a Kenite and from his father Cain. Jesus told these people to their face, "You are children of the devil." So what we have here is the "son of the father" [Barabbas] being released, and the "Son of the Father" [Christ] is going to take the evil ones place. The decision for them is, for it is the people that are going to make that decision, "To which do you desire to give life?"

The religious community of that day, the day when Christ was standing here before the people did not have the true teaching of the Son of the Father, the Word of God. But in it's place were these Kenites and the traditions of these Kenites. Now stop and think what is being taught here, for shortly this same choice is going to be given to our generation to make. Which do you desire to follow? Your choice is going to be based just like these people crying out for Barabbas, their choice was based not on the Word, but on Kenite traditions and false doctrines. Are you able to recognize truth when you hear it? These people did not recognize truth, nor the Son of God. These people of Jerusalem cried out to spare Barabbas, the son of the father/Satan and crucify Christ, the Son of the Father/God

Mark 15:8 "And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him to do as he had ever done unto them."

This was okay with this mob, as they shouted out, "go ahead and release one".

Mark 15:9 "But Pilate answered them, saying, "Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?"

Pilate is saying this with irony when he refers to Jesus as; "the King of the Jews". Though it doesn't show up in the English translation, but Pilate just doesn't understand what is going on here. Pilate is thinking, surely they will not want this murderer released back into their midst, they would far rather have this one released that goes against their religious beliefs. By Pilate stressing that this was their King of the Jews, made them more angry by the moment, to the point of insanity.

Mark 15:10 "For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him for envy."

Pilate knew that Jesus was delivered to him for religious reasons. These religious leaders wanted to get Jesus out of their way. Jesus was causing them many problems; in their traditions, and especially in the way it was hitting their begging bags. "Envy" is the greater sin, for Pilate is a Gentile, and even he could see right through these Kenites motives.

Mark 15:11 "But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them."

This chief priest had the power through his religious authority to make the people do what he desired of them. We see here that it is not the people's choice but the Chief priests choice that Barabbas be released. The chief priest was appointed and approved by the Roman government. Here the heads of the religious community are begging for the release of an out and out murderer, thief, and terrorist, over the Son of God.

Mark 15:12 "And Pilate answered and said again unto them, "What will ye then that I shall do unto Him Whom ye call the King of the Jews?"

Notice that Pilate now understands that it is these religious leaders that labeled Jesus the "King of the Jews" in their charges, and he is not calling Jesus by that title. As Jesus said above, you're the one that said it, I didn't.

Mark 15:13 "And they cried again, "Crucify Him.

Mark 15:14 "Then Pilate said unto them, "Why, what evil hath He done?" And they cried out the more exceedingly, "Crucify Him."

Pilate had seen the miracles that this Good Man did, and to stand here and watch these people in their mad state of mind, screaming out, "Crucify Him". It was beyond understanding to him. He marveled at Christ as Jesus stood there "and He didn't say a word."

Mark 15:15 "And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged Him, to be crucified."

Pilate knew that these religious leaders were the ones working up the crowd, and he couldn't let the word get back to Caesar that he could not control the people. Pilate then turned Jesus over to his soldiers to be beaten, scourged and crucified. Some teach that Pilate believed that if he beat him and scourged Jesus this would satisfy the people, and then he could release him. However this beating and scourging was a normal thing before a Roman prisoner's crucifixion.

Mark 15:16 "And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band."

These soldiers brought Jesus into this large hall, and they called in all the other soldiers under Pilate that were stationed there.

Mark 15:17 "And they clothed Him with purple, and plaited a crown of thorns, and put it about His head,"

This is pure outright mockery.

Mark 15:18 "And began to salute Him, "Hail, King of the Jews!"

Again, Christ is the king of all Israel, not just the tribe of Judah. Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. However these acts that these soldiers are doing, they are doing in ignorance, for they are Gentile Roman soldiers. The high priest knew the Scriptures for it was before them in the Temple and they chose not to read and follow its teachings, but instead they welded God's Word to fit their purpose, and not the intent that God gave us in His Word.

Mark 15:19 "And they smote Him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon Him, and bowing their knees worshipped Him."

As these things are happening to Jesus our Lord, remember what Jesus said back in Mark 10:33, 34 when Jesus was telling His disciples exactly what was going to happen to Him. Lets review.

Mark 10:33 "Saying, "Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delievered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn Him to death, and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles;"

Mark 10:34 "And they shall mock Him, and shall scourge Him, and shall spit upon Him, and shall kill Him: and the third day He shall rise again."

This is coming to pass here as Christ is being mocked and spit upon by these Roman guards. When Christ speaks, it happens exactly as prophesied. This is the same reason that it is easy to see and understand exactly what the Kenites and the international community are doing at our time today, for Christ has told us all the things that they shall do. We are moving into that time of the new world order, and this is that one worldism that was spoken of by Jesus in Revelation. Line by line and verse by verse, the events are unfolding exactly as Christ said that it would. This is why it is important to read with understanding the entire Word of instructions that God has given to us.

Mark 15:20 "And when they had mocked Him, they took off the purple from Him, and put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him."

The fun and games of these Roman soldiers are over, and it is time to complete their orders, and crucify our Lord.

Mark 15:21 "And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear His cross."

Its a long road up to Golgotha, where Jesus will be crucified. This man named Simon took that cross that Jesus would be crucified on, and carried it up the Golgotha hill, and so he did.

Mark 15:22 "And they bring Him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, "The place of a skull."

Many call this hill "Calvary Hill". The thing that comes to mind the most, as we consider this Cyrenian carrying Jesus cross up this path to the place of the crucifixion, are the many people watching and weeping as Jesus passed by. As it is written in Luke 23:28-31, as the blood was driping down from Jesus head from that crown of thorns that was placed on His head, His body badly tore up from the many beatings with the whip, and He looked over to these women that were watching this event take place.

Luke 23:28 "But Jesus turning unto them said "Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for Me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children."

Meaning those "without child and those giving suck", for we discussed this in Mark 13. He was speaking of our generation today when likewise in ignorance the people will leave Christ for the false messiah. We, true Christians, will remain barren for we will not participate in the wedding to the great false bridegroomSatan. Most of Christianity will worship Satan, and cry out to him in ignorance just like these Jewish people did under the direction of their Kenite religious leadership. I pray, you  will not!

Luke 23:29 "For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, 'Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck."

Luke 23:30 "Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, 'Fall on us; and to the hills, 'Cover us.' "

Luke 23:31 "For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?"

Live Link to- Endure til the end

Live Link to- The Seventh Trump

The "green tree" is a live tree and it is referring to Christ with His blood still running through His veins. He was with them at this time, and they called out for His crucifixion. Jesus has said that if you did this when I was with you, then think of what your children will do, in this 21st century, when I am not with them.

John's Note: Our Christian churches today are leading us, by their traditions right down this same path that the Kenite scribes led our forefathers down, when they demanded the death of Christ. Our brothers, in this end generation will do what they do and say what they say in ignorance, because our religious leaders aren't teaching us to recognize truth. Many of us will follow the false-christ because our church traditions and doctrines don't instruct us how to tell the difference between what is holy and what is profane, or even that there is a difference or that Satan will appear here on earth, in person, FIRST, prior to Christ's return.

The "dry" is the "Spirit", meaning the Holy Spirit. When they try to plant His Spirit into the fake bridegroom, He will not be there, for truth will be dried up. Amos 8:11; "Behold, the day comes, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:" The hearing with understanding comes only by the Spirit of God. With the Spirit withdrawn from those that are not sealed in their minds, then all they have to fall back on is the traditions and the words of their religious leaders. Of course when Satan the false christ arrives, they will all cry out to him, thinking he is Christ.

Mark 15:23 "And they gave Him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but He received it not."

This was a drug that was offered to Jesus, and many today say that Jesus was drugged and didn't know what was happening to Him. That is a lie and those that would say such a thing are liars.

Mark 15:24 "And when they had crucified Him, they parted His garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take."

It is important that you always remember this scripture. This is the fulfillment of Psalms 22:18, for it is Jesus actually Words on the cross. Psalms 22:18; "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture." Jesus spoke these words prophesied by David over a thousand years prior, as this act was being fulfilled. There was nothing by chance, but every thing is happening exactly as the Father stated that it would.

Mark 15:25 "And it was the third hour, and they crucified Him."

It is only nine [9] A.M. (the third hour) when Jesus was placed on the cross. This date was the day prior to Passover, on a Wednesday morning. Noit did not take place on a Friday! The time sequence that is given in most Christian church houses today is nothing but tradition, There tradition would mean the time that Jesus was in the tomb to be less than the three days and three night. They explain that away by claiming "He arose on the third day" is the same time frame they say, but it's not!  Friday to Sunday, is the third day, true, but it is not THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS! Are our church leaders calling Jesus a liar? Jesus and the prophets foretold three days and three nights, and this would make God's Word a lie. God's Word is truth, but their traditions are the lie. Be careful what traditions you allow to rule your life, especially in this final generation. There is no contradiction in God's Word, and when it appears that there is, it is your understanding that is wrong, or you have not yet found the passage that explains it properly. Keep digging. It is there!

Easter Sunday or Easter Saturday, which is it? Pamphlet #1071Have we been deceived?  Also check out #7014 "Six Days Before The Passover"

Scripture Never Contradicts Scripture!
Remember---and this is critical---we have not found truth until we find the single common denominator that makes the passages fit together. Psalm 119:160 teaches us that "the sum of Thy Word is truth." In other words, you don't have truth until you have processed all the passages dealing with a particular subject and found the single solution that accommodates them all without contradiction! Psalms 119:160 The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever. NRV If you want truth, you can't ignore any of the passages that deal with the same issue, no matter how contradictory they may seem. If you refuse to be sidetracked by the contradiction and keep looking for the resolution, you will eventually find that all the passages fit perfectly into one common denominator. Now you have correlation without contradiction. Now you have truth! Let Scripture define Scripture; let the Bible be your dictionary. Once we have truth, that truth stands in judgment of us; never do we dare stand in judgment of it!

Isaiah 28:9
Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. [10]  For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:[11] For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

This nine o'clock is the time for the morning sacrifice to be offered in the temple. Then prophetically as these Roman soldiers placed Jesus body on the cross and drove those long spikes through His hands and feet [to nail Him to the cross], these same chief priests that crucified Christ are at that hour making their blood offerings to the Father in the Temple. Jesus became the blood sacrifice for their blood ordinances and sacrifices at this same hour.

Mark 15:26 "And the superscription of His accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS."

We know from another gospel that the chief priest came by later, and said to Pilate, "I told you not to write that He is King of the Jews.". I said, He claimed to be the King of the Jews", this high priest insisted. Well, Jesus didn't claim to be a king with that title. Jesus is the King of all Israel, and when He returns, He will be the King of Kings.

Mark 15:27 "And with Him they crucify two thieves; and one on His right hand, and the other on His left."

Mark 15:28 "And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, "And He was numbered with the transgressors."

Isaiah 53:12 "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah wrote this prophecy over six hundred years before this crucifixion took place. We know from another gospel that one of these two thieves would repent, and Jesus Christ would forgive him of all his sins as he hung there on this cross.

Luke 23:43; "And Jesus said unto him, "Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with Me in paradise."

Mark 15:29 "And they that passed by railed on Him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Ah, Thou That destroyest the Temple, and buildest it in three days,"

There is about to be a great darkness coming over the earth, and an earthquake that will open the graves. This would be a one time happening that would allow the people to know absolutely that Christ had defeated death, for Satan is death. This event happened for the sake of verifying that death had been overcome.

Mark 15:30 "Save Thyself, and come down from the cross."

Mark 15:31 "Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, "He saved others; Himself He cannot save."

Remember these words that the chief priests are saying here for these words were prophesied that He would speak them. These priest thought that they were doing something very religious in their words. They thought that they were serving God's purpose, and indeed they were. In their ignorance and actions they carried out the death sentence on their own father,Satan, the devil.

Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;"

Mark 15:32 "Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe." And they that were crucified with Him reviled Him."

Notice what this chief priest is saying, for it is direct from prophecy. This statement is completely against the charges that he brought before Pilate. Even the thieves and malefactors that were with Jesus hanging on their crosses spoke out against Jesus, but one did change and repent of His sins in that final hour.

Mark 15:33 "And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the nineth hour."

This is what would get their attention for it was high noon, the middle of the day, and darkness came over the entire land. We will now go into Jesus Words that were stated on the cross which were stated by David a thousand years before He went to the cross.

Mark 15:34 "And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lava sabachthani?" which being interpreted, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?"

The ninth hour would be at three (3) P.M. in the afternoon, and this is also the time for the evening oblation or sacrifice that took place daily. Many times in sermons teachers would come to this point and say, "In as much as He took the sins of the world on Himself, God departed from Him."  Friend, this is ignorance to the highest degree. Any person with any knowledge of the Scriptures at all recognizes that Jesus was teaching here from Psalms 22.  I believe that Jesus was quoting the entire Psalm while dying there on the cross, while stating other words also.

Many people wonder why God never talks to them! If they would just go to His Word, God will talk to them. That is who God talks to, His people. Most of the time when Jesus was asked a question, He would say, "Haven't you read?" or "It is written." Until you study what is in His Word, He is not going to give you any great revelation. The first thing that should stand out here is that Jesus Christ never called God, God. But He called Him "Father" [Abba, Father]. Then to even think in your mind, after all the teachings of both Jesus and the Father, "I shall never leave thee nor forsake thee", and here they would accuse God of a lie, by saying that the Father forsook His very Son.

Jesus was teaching you and me even as He was hanging nailed to the cross. This is one of the best documented prophesies that Christ was truly the Messiah that is in the entire Scriptures. It should be a faith strengthener to anyone that studies God's Word. Psalms 22 is the words that Jesus spoke on the cross.  Psalms 23 is the resurrection Psalm. We are going to review this entire Psalm 22 at this time.

Psalms 22:1 "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?"

"My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" This phrase, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani" is perfect Hebrew, except of the word "Eli", which is Aramic. Jesus spoke loud here, because He was teaching. Many teach in ignorance saying that this shows that Christ had taken on the sins of the world and He was a little dirty. How ignorant they are of God's Word.

Jesus was quoting from the words of lamentation of David, to teach those that were not spitting and carrying on like a pack of mad men. God never forsook Jesus. When Jesus referred to the Father, He called Him Father, not God.

Psalms 22:2 "O my God, I cry in the daytime, but Thou hearest not; And in the night season, and am not silent."

David also made this exact statement when he was in trouble. He is saying, "I don't get any rest."

Psalms 22:3 "But Thou art holy, O Thou That inhabitest the praises of Israel.

David now switches to Messiah, and sings the praises to our Heavenly Father.

Psalm s 22:4 "Our father trusted in Thee: They trusted, and Thou didst deliver them."

If you also trust in these words, you shall find delivery and salvation. God doesn't forsake anyone and if anyone drives themselves away from God it is their own fault. If their is a separation that takes place, it is because of your actions and not God's.

Psalms 22:5 "They cry unto Thee, and were delivered: They trusted in Thee, and were not confounded."

When they put their trust in God, they were not confused nor disgraced [confounded]. If somebody tries to shame you for a Christian act that you do, don't worry about it. Their mind is of Satan, and that is where they are going for the things they do, if they do not repent.

Psalms 22:6 "But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised of the People."

The Kenite scribes really messed this verse up. In the Massoretic Text, it is the word "tola", and means "scarlet", or "crimson and scarlet", that was used for "die". The crimson and scarlet is from the blood that Christ shed for the sins of those that would repent and in faith believe on Him. The People despised Him for what He did, because of their ignorance when He paid the price for you.

Psalms 22:7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: They shoot out the lip, the shake the head, saying;"

This verse apply to what we just covered in verse 29; "And they passed that passed by railed on Him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Ah, Thou That destroyed the Temple and buildest it in three days." In other words, they mocked and made sport of Christ, and He said they would back in Mark 10 as He was preparing them for this event.

Psalm3 22:8 "He trusted on the Lord that He would deliver him: Let Him deliver him, seeing He delighted in him."

Mark 14:31 address what the chief priest said; "Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved other; Himself He cannot save." [31] "Let the Christ the king of Israel descend now from the cross that we may see and believe,..." [32] This was also quoted in Matthew 27:43.

This is the mockery that was spoken by the chief priests and the elders of the People. The reason I told you to remember those words of the chief priests, is this Psalm 22:8, for it shows us that those words were placed in their mouths as a seal by the Spirit of the Living God. This seal allows us to know exactly that Jesus was the Messiah. For when those words are spoken, it identifies the Christ, as a fact.

Psalms 22:9 "But thou are he That took me out of the womb: Thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts."

Psalms 22:10 "I was cast upon Thee from the womb: Thou art my God from my mother's belly."

In other words, Christ never sinned, and He was completely loyal to the Father. This statement of the prophecy is that Christ truly came from the seed of David, and from the root of the stem of Jessie, David's father. This is why God named Jesus from centuries before His birth, and His name would be called "Emmanuel", "God with us".

Psalms 22:11 "Be not far from me; for trouble is near; For there is none to help."

"There is none to help", while Jesus hung there on the cross; for every disciple had scattered and denyed Jesus. Friend, this is God speaking to David a thousand years before Jesus hung on that cross. Though the men had scattered, the women folk were not far away.

Psalms 22:12 "Many bulls have compassed me: Strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round."

"The bulls of Bashan" were known for their size and strength, This is a figure of speech, or idiom showing the power of the evil that came against Jesus. Even though Jesus could have called down thousands upon ten thousands of angels to protect Him, He did not. He suffered the cross alone. My fellow Christian, for you to have salvation and the price for your sin to be paid, this prophecy had to be fulfilled.

Psalms 22:13 "They gaped upon me with their mouths, As a ravening and a roaring lion."

This massive crowd gathered around Christ as and shouted "Crucify Him, Crucify Him." It was like our Lord was thrown to the raving and roaring lions.

Psalms 22:14 "I am poured out like water, And all my bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; It is melted in the midst of my bowels."

Christ's life blood is dripping away as He hung there nailed on the cross; dripping from the nail wounds in His hands and feet and the crown of thorns on His head. Then the Roman soldier came and ran the spear through his side. As Jesus hung there nailed on the cross, his weight pulled His bones out of their joints.

Psalms 22:15 "My strength is dried up like a potsherd; And my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; And Thou hast brought me into the dust of death."

A potsherd is an old dry piece of broken pottery laying in the heat of the sun. The "dust of the death" is the death of the flesh body. The life of Jesus Christ in the flesh body is almost over here.

Psalms 22:16 "For dogs have compassed me: The assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: They pierce my hands and my feet."

The "dogs" are the enemies [the Kenites] that have done this to Christ. Do you understand that Christ was crying this from the cross, and David wrote these words over a thousand years before it came to pass. God planned this event to happen to Himself for the sake of His love for His children. Jesus knew what had to be done so that you could even have the chance to utter in shame, "forgive me Lord," in repentance.

This is why Jesus cried out aloud, "Eli, Eli, lama, sabachthani". Jesus is teaching and asking them as He hung there on the cross, "can't you see that I am teaching, as I hang here with these nails through my hands and feet." Jesus is letting us know that He is the Messiah.

Psalms 22:17 "I may tell all my bones: They look and stare upon me."

As they were shouting out their insults and spitting on Jesus, as He hung there on the cross. They stared up at Him on the cross and mocked Him, and He never defended Himself. Would you do that for all of your brethren? He did it all because He loves you.

Psalms 22:18 "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture."

This was the Roman soldiers gambling for Jesus clothing at the foot of the cross. Each element was acted out on the part of those present for the crucifixion. "Casting lots" is like throwing dice.

Then there will be some so-called preachers say, "God forsook Christ while He hung on the cross." Such a statement is blasphemy.

Psalms 22:19 "But be not Thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me."

Though Jesus felt the pain through this entire ordeal, our Heavenly Father comforted Him all the time.

Psalms 22:20 "Deliver my soul from the sword; My darling from the power of the dog."

The Word "darling" in the Hebrew is "soul". While the "dogs" [Kenites] are Mine enemies. So this should read; "Deliver my soul from the sword, My soul from the power of the enemy."

Psalm 22:21 "Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns."

The word "unicorn" is incorrect and not in the Hebrew, but what is in the text is "wild ox". So it should read, "I will declare the power of the wild ox." This is simply referring to the power of the enemies of God.

Psalms 22:22 "I will declare Thy Name unto my brethren: In the midst of the congregation will I praise Thee."

This name is praised and declared by Paul in Hebrews 2:12-14; "Saying, "I will declare Thy name unto My brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praises unto thee" [12]

Hebrews 2 is a chapter that explains how and why Christ came to earth to pay the price for your sins, whereby we could have salvation. It tells us why God did not feel that He was too good to do exactly what He told you to do, to come to this earth age in the flesh. He did exactly what He expected each of us to do.

The "church" is the ""ekklesia" in the Greek, the assembly of the congregation , called the "called out ones". It is amongst these brethren that Christ's name shall be declared, and praises are to be sung to Him.

Hebrews 2:13 "And again, "I will put my trust in Him," and again, "Behold, I and the children which God hath given Me."

Jesus will never forsake you when you call upon Him and put your trust in Him. Now here is the answer to Psalms 22:22.

Hebrews 2:14 "Forasmuch Then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; That through death [crucifixion] He might destroy him that had the power of death [the enemy], that is, the devil,"

In as much as we all have to live in this flesh and blood, painful body, Christ also took part in the same flesh and blood body, so that through His crucifixion, our sins might be nailed to the cross, and in turn release the power that Satan, the devil has over sinful man. He did it to destroy the devil's hold over you. God created all of His children, even Satan, and He loved all of them. God did not create evil in Satan, but Satan chose to be evil through his pride. Many of God's children fell in that first earth age, and God did not want to kill His children, and that is why we have this second earth age of the flesh, where by all souls may enter it in innocence through their mother's womb.

Through Christ's crucifixion, the price is paid where each soul can now chose whether they will serve God and have the power of Satan released from themselves, or remain tied to the power of the enemy. God then would have to pronounce death on one of His own children, but when He Himself came in the flesh, and those Kenites cried those Words, "Crucify Him!" They killed the flesh body of Emmanuel. So now because of what they had done to Him in the flesh, He can pass judgment on them and Satan when that time comes for Judgment at the end of this earth age.

Psalms 22:23 "Ye that fear the Lord, praise Him; All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; And fear Him, all ye the seed of Israel."

This is the whole house of Israel, all the tribes of Israel and not just Judah from the house of Judah. This is why Jesus did not say that He was the king of the Jews, for He does not limit Himself to just one tribe. "Fear" as given here in the Hebrew means "revere", to give reverence. Israel includes all those that believe on Jesus Christ, even gentiles who have become grafted into that olive tree called Israel.

The above reference is to the House of Judah, not the House of Israel. The House of Judah was taken to Babylon during the conquering of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzor in 586BC, 135 years after the House of Israel plus tens of thousands of Israelites from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin (from the House of Judah) was captured by their Assyrian conquerors in 745-721 B.C. and taken captive and relocated below the Black and Caspian Seas.

Psalms 22:24 "For He hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; Neither hath He hid His face from him; But when he cried unto Him, He heard."

If anyone tells you that God forsook Christ while on the cross, this makes them a liar and blasphemer. God never forsook or despised nor abhorred Christ in any of His affliction. Before you ever make such accusations you had better stop and think of what you are saying, before you call God a liar. Our Heavenly Father heard every Word that Jesus spoke, but have you listened to Him?

Psalms 22:25 "My praise shall be of Thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear Him."

The great congregation is going to be gathered together again right here on earth at the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It happens at the sounding at the seventh and last trumpet, when this flesh age ends, and all souls will be changed instantly from their flesh bodies to their new spiritual incorruptible bodies.

Live Link to- The Seventh Trump

Psalms 22:26 "The meek shall eat and be satisfied: They shall praise the Lord that seek Him: Your heart shall live for ever."

Those that are humble shall eat of God's Word and be satisfied. When you do your mind can't help but sing the praises unto Jesus Christ. Here, Heart is your mind, the intellect of your soul. It is the thought process to your very soul, and it shall live forever in that perfect spiritual body, and we are not talking about your flesh body.

Psalms 22:27 "All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee."

All kindreds of the nations", are the "ethnos", it is all the races that are on the face of the earth. They will all worship before Jesus Christ. However, at this time of the crucifixion, they are all saying these words in mocking of our Lord. When Jesus returns at the seventh trumpet, He shall rule as the King of Kings over all the ethnos, the peoples of the world with an iron rod. That is not a time to get yourself out of line, for He will use it to correct you. Most Christians today have completely put aside discipline in their lives, however a time is coming where they will be strict discipline on them.

Psalms 22:28 "For the kingdoms is the Lord's: And He is the Governor among the nations."

Our Lord Jesus Christ will be the King of Kings of all the nations. He will be the Lord of Lords.

Psalms 22:29 "All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: All they that go down to the dust shall bow before Him: And none can keep alive his own soul."

Those that go down to the dust on their belly will be the ones that followed the devil when he comes as the great deceiver. There will be many that call themselves Christians, even at the end of the Millennium age, even after they have seen Christ and live with full understanding in their incorruptible bodies that will follow Satan when he is released for a short season. There shall be not one soul ever to enter into the lake of fire because of ignorance. That is why God is having the Millennium age, where the things and evil rudiments of the flesh and even flesh itself is removed from the earth.

God will remove those so-called preachers that spin their false doctrines and traditions that mislead, and all souls will then have complete understanding in their minds. God will put that understanding there. We will not have those that teach such lies as God forsaking His own Son on the cross, there, for God will remove them that would mislead. Stop and think for a moment what such a damnable lie causes. The non-believer looks at when you say, "God turned His face from His Son while on the cross," and he thinks, when I get in trouble and need Him, surely He will forsake me also." In short those that would say such a thing, are saying that God is a liar, and two faced. When in fact He is not. In the Millennium period there will be no ignorance.

Psalms 22:30"A seed shall serve Him; It shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation."

These last two verses of Psalms 22 are written to us living in the final generation. The generation of the fig tree. This is the generation of the election that he chose before the foundation of this earth age.

Psalms 22:31 "They shall come, and shall declare His righteousness unto a People that shall be born, That He hath done this."

This shall be taught from generation to generation, parents to their children down through the centuries to the final generation. "That He hath done this", is summed up in John 19:30; "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, "It is finished:" and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost." In the Hebrew translation from the Massorah text, the words "He hath done this", it is the same as the Greek text, "It is finished". The Jesus Spirit separated itself from the flesh body that was left on the cross dead.

This is Christ's Word on the cross. God promised that He would never leave thee nor forsake thee, He did not forsake Jesus on the cross and He will not leave you in your time of need. It is the one thing that you can count upon. Psalms 22 documents that God's Word is true.

Mark 15:35 "And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, "Behold, He calleth Elias."

Those that stood by thought that Jesus was calling for Elijah.

Mark 15:36 "And one ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave Him to drink, saying, "Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take Him down."

Mark 15:37 "And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost."

Remember from John 19:30 given above, "...It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost."

Mark 15:38 "And the veil of the Temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom."

This was the sacrifice hour, the ninth hour of the day when the chief priest would go into the holy of holies and make sacrifice for the sins of the people. It was a forbidden place for the people to enter and look upon, and now with this veil of the Temple rent in two, the people now had access to look into and approach the very throne of God. This was the daily oblation or sacrifice that offered a lamb, and now here the Lamb of God was offered for one and all times for all those that by faith would believe on Christ, and repent to the Father in "Jesus name". Jesus name became our credentials to approach the throne of God in repentance, and the blood of Christ made it all possible. Jesus became the perfect sacrifice for one and all times.

Do you know what was meant in the term "the veil was rent in twain"? The Holy of holies was covered by the law, and it stated that one time each year, one individual, the High Priest, could penetrate the holy of Holies. That means that he could go into the presence of God Himself. That veil was very thick and it was not a small thing that this curtain was rent in two from the top to the bottom. This meant that it was a divine supplication, letting us know that it was God that did it.

Now in Christ even you and I can go in and approach the throne of God. Even though you are a sinner, God loved you enough that He paid the price which allows that barrier to be removed. It was an awesome price that Christ paid, and that is why when you say, salvation is free, it is only free because the price has already been paid. Now you can come to the Father at any time and say, Father, I love you. That pleases Him, and with His love for you, come His blessings for you. You now have the right to say directly to Him, Help me Lord, I am a poor sinner." and He will.

Mark 15:39 "And when the centurion, which stood over against Him, saw that He so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, "Truly this Man was the Son of God."

The centurion is a Roman soldier that is over many men, and he would say this because when Jesus gave up the ghost in death, the light came back over the earth. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that when such supernatural happening takes place, and when Jesus made His final words and gave up the ghost, and the lights came back on, that this Man that he had just crucified was truly the Son of God. There was an earthquake and the graves came open, dead men and women walked up and down the streets of Jerusalem, as it is recorded in other gospels. Even this Roman knew that this truly was the Son of God.

Mark 15:40 "There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;"

These women did not leave Jesus in His time of need. They were faithful followers of Christ. Remember that Mary Magdalene was a woman that was possessed with seven evil spirit, and Christ touched her and changed her life. She was there with Jesus through the thick and thin of all that was going on with Christ's crucifixion. These are all women that Christ caused a change in their lives.

Mark 15:41 "(Who also, when He was in Galilee, followed Him, and ministered unto Him;) and many other women which came up with Him unto Jerusalem."

The men that followed Christ are all departed from Him, however those women that took care of Jesus and His disciples when He was in Galilee, also came up to Jerusalem. At this time it was safer for women to be there because of the minor role that they played in the Temple. However these women were loyal to our Lord even to His death. They loved Him and believed in Him.

Mark 15:42 "And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,"

This day spoken of here was the "high Sabbath". Jesus body was taken down off the cross before sundown on this high Sabbath, which would be on the Wednesday afternoon, after three P.M, for the preparation had to be taken care of by six P.M. the start of the high Sabbath, which we call the Passover. At 6 P.M. starts the three days and three nights that Jesus told His disciples that He would remain in the tomb before His resurrection.

Mark 15:43 "Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus."

Joseph of Arimathaea was a believer in Jesus Christ. Joseph of Arimathaea was a very rich man, as recorded in historical documents, and a relative of our Lord Jesus Christ. Being "an honorable counsellor" as stated in Luke 23:50, meant Joseph of Arimethaea was a member of the Sanhedrin, but we know that "he had not consented to the counsel of deed of them." [Luke 23:51] This was also prophesied in Isaiah 53:9; "And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, either was any deceit in His mouth."

Jesus died with the sinners, yet He was buried with the rich. So who is this Joseph of Arimathaea that he would have the nerve to boldly stand before Pilate and demand the body of Jesus? Joseph of Arimathaea was the kinsman redeemer, the uncle of Jesus through his mother Mary's family. [the Harlein Manuscripts, 38-59 f, 193 b, in the British Museum] He was the kinsman that stood by, with the full knowledge of what had happened, and he waited with the women folk to claim the body of Christ at the appointed time.

It is well documented in Glastonbury, England about Joseph the tin man, who had tin mines there, brought a young lad there with him. That young lad was Jesus. Joseph was wealthy because of ownership in the mines that he had and his trade in tin. Joseph carried a Roman title [the Noblus Decurio], that allowed him to be the supplier to the Roman government with tin. There is a book about these activities of Joseph of Arimathaea, called "The Traditions of Glastonbury", by E. Raymond Capt, the Archaeologist.

Mark 15:44 "And Pilate marvelled if He were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether He had been any while dead."

It is important that Pilate verify that Jesus was truly dead, and that is why Pilate did not just take the word of Joseph of Arimathaea, but he called in the centurion to document that Jesus truly was dead. Even to this day, the Kenites teach that Jesus didn't die and they come up with many theories as to what happened. We will take a closer look at this in the next chapter.

Mark 15:45 "And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph."

As soon as the centurian verified that Jesus was dead, Pilate gave the body of Christ over to Jesus' kinsman. Jesus would be buried in this new tomb of a rich man.

Mark 15:46 "And he brought fine linen, and took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in the sepulchre which was hewn out of rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre."

Only the rich had fine linen to be buried in, and Joseph bought that fine linen for Jesus to be wrapped in. This is also why we know that Mark John's family was wealthy because He wore fine linen also. This stone that was rolled in front of the door of this sepulchre was a huge stone, and in other gospels we know that the Kenite priest demanded that guards be posted in front of the tomb to make sure that the stone would not be rolled away, and the body stolen.

Mark 15:47 "And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where He was laid."

These two women marked the spot and knew exactly where Joseph took Jesus. They will come back to check on that stone later.
