Chapter 13
The good news is that one day "...the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea". Of course with the earth in the decadent spiritual condition it is in these last days, there will necessarily have to be a remarkable transition to bring in the birth of that new age, won't there? And so it is when Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords who has all power in both heaven and earth (Mat. 28:18), returns to this earth with His mighty army of saints (Rev. 19:11-13) at the sound of the 7th Trump, there will be a spiritual shakeup on this planet the likes of which can only be compared to the "katabole", which was the overthrow and destruction of the first earth age found in Genesis 1:2 when the earth "became" tohu va bohu, utterly void and desolate, and water covered the face of the deep (see appendix 146 in the Companion Bible)! The apostle Peter even speaks of that first earth age, calling it "the world that then was", which was the age long ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth, the age to which all Fossils and "Remains" belong! Peter informs us that the Word of God not only declares the destruction of that first earth age, but also the reason why it perished... because of ungodly men! Peter then makes the point that this present earth age with all its evil rudiments (1 Peter 3:10) shall likewise perish, as in be "burned up" by the "consuming fire" at the brightness of the Lord's coming (Hebrews 12:29 "For our God is a consuming fire".)
You "see", as it is written in the first chapter of the great book of Ecclesiastes, "there is no new thing under the sun", which means there is nothing new politically, economically, educationally, or even religiously in this second earth age wherein flesh man "walks under the sun", from what it was like in that first earth age. So if you want to know what it was like back then before the overthrow of the New World Order at the "katabole", just take a look around! In fact you will find in the 31st chapter of Ezekiel that the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil", Satan, that old box-cedar (te'ashshur) who stood in the midst of the garden of God in that first earth age and exalted himself to be like the most high (Isa. 14:14), once had all great nations dwelling under his shadow... until our Father hewed him down low to ground and sentenced him in Ezek. 28:18 to be consumed by fire.
Of course before our Father brought about the hewing of that tree and the destruction of the first earth age, His servants who stood faithfully by His side blew the trumpet of war and sounded the alarm warning His people of what was to befall them. All this you can read about in Jeremiah 4:19-26.Ezekiel 31:6
All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.
It upset and disheartened our Father immensely to see His children ignore His Word and His warning as they continued to follow after Babylon the Great, Satan's same old New World Order in "the world that was".Jeremiah 4:19-26
My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trump, the alarm of war.
How long should our Father continue to give warning to a stubborn and rebellious people who continue to ignore His knowledge and wisdom? As it is written in 2 Pet. 3:9, our Father is "longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance", but there comes a time when enough is enough and tough love is in order.[20] Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.[21] How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?
The word "sottish" comes from the Celtic and means "stupid"! You "see", it is especially since the advent of the peace-love-Woodstock Baby Boomer generation that brought forth the 1/3 who were drawn away in the first earth age (Rev. 12:4) that our people have become more and more Biblically illiterate to the point that they tolerate liberalism, which is not only evil but utter foolishness and contrary to the Word of God, in all areas of their lives, i.e. economically, politically, educationally, and religiously. Again, there is nothing new under the sun and when the New World Order came to its fullness in the first earth age and after our Father had given sufficient witness unto all nations through His servants that He would violently shake the earth and destroy that "world that then was (2 Pet. 3:6)"... He did just that! Here is your documentation:[22] For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
This verse directly parallels Genesis 1:2 that states that the earth "became" without form and void (tohu va bohu) and darkness (no light) covered the face of the deep! Genesis 1:2 "And the earth was (became) without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."[23] I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
Mountains are symbolic of nations and so it is that they all trembled as He shook them to their very foundations... as in leveled them flatter than a pancake. And you know what? It is going to happen again at the end of this flesh age.[24] I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
Do not ever confuse this destruction of the first earth age with the flood of Noah, for after the katabole there was NO MAN and no birds, etc., left upon the earth. There was only total darkness and water covered all the earth![25] I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
And so it is written that at the end of this flesh age, that the old box-cedar (Satan) would raise up his old New World Order (the Beast of Rev. 13:1) from among the waters (people) and once again bring all the nations to dwell under his shadow, under the same One World System that he had in the first earth age. A comparison of Rev. 12:4, the one world political structure in the first earth age, with Rev. 13:1, the one world political structure at the end of this age, will document that for you.[26] I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by His fierce anger.
Remember we have been learning here in the book of Isaiah, that the Assyrian, a type of false-christ which we will further document in the next chapter, is coming upon the land in these last days! So you "see", Babylon the Great shall once again be the order of the day at the end of this flesh age! "Babylon" comes from the word "babel" in Hebrew which means "confusion"... an apt description of today's society and what is happening in the world!
However, once again our Father is going to give proclamation and witness unto all the nations, even unto Babylon the Great, that His cup of wrath is about filled to the full and He is soon coming with His mighty saints to crush and destroy the corrupt and vile New World Order and establish the kingdom of God upon the earth. We are privileged to read about that warning in this study of chapter 13 which begins the fourth great division of the Book of Isaiah, which consists of "burdens alternated with Israel's blessings" (see structure on page 930 of the Companion Bible).
The word "burden" means prophetic oracle or "warning" and this is the strong warning to Babylon as "seen" and declared by Isaiah, the son of Amoz whose name means "strong"! Do you have eyes to see and hear the "vision" of this warning? It is written in Joel 2 and quoted by Peter in Acts 2 that in the last days the sons and daughters, the "seed" of Psalm 22:30 who serve the Lord, would "see" the visions of the prophets, which means they would "understand" them, and they would teach them to their brothers and sisters and friends and loved ones.Isaiah 13:1
The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
Now, before we continue in this chapter, there are two types or ensamples of the destruction of Babylon that we should make note of and consider. The first type is the historical ensample when the Medes and the Persians under the command of Cyrus came against Babylon to destroy her and set up the law of the Medes and the Persians. The second ensample is the modern day type and overlay that we have and are witnessing in the physical land of Babylon, i.e. Iraq, where the mighty ones of the One Nation Under God went in and hewed down the corrupt government and destroyed the palaces of the wicked king! We drew the parallel to this type in Daniel chapter 10 as it happened in "real time" back in March and April of this prophetic year, 2003!
However, the lesson to be learned from both of these types and ensamples is that the remnant, God's elect, are going to come against the final Babylon the Great when that old serpent, the Devil, Satan himself, is cast out of heaven to this earth (Rev. 12:7-9) and those saints are going to bring down the New World Order and be a part of establishing the kingdom of God upon this earth. That remnant who are spiritually rich in the wisdom and knowledge of their Father's Word are called "bruisers" in the Book of Daniel and as it is written, they shall have the victory in Jesus Christ and they shall overcome "the beast" by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony (Rev. 12:11), which is the proclamation of the coming of the kingdom of God to this earth!
Again, mountains are symbolic of nations and the highest "mountain" on earth today is the United States of America who along with Great Britain are to be the banner of His glory in these last days (Deut. 33:17). Remember that there was a proclamation and warning before all the nations of the world at the UN Security Council that the army of the USA would march against Iraq, the land of Babylon, and destroy the evil rudiments and topple the wicked regime! And so we did! What a type! Seeing all these things come to pass, it is "high time" to wake up dear Christian for the greatest battle of all time is yet to be fought, which is that great spiritual battle of these last days that shall follow the blowing of the trumpet and the sounding of the alarm... just like in the first earth age... and perhaps trumpeted by some of the same "heralders". The LORD of hosts now continues with the warning:[2] Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
To be sanctified is to be set apart by the Word of God. Those who are sealed with the rich wisdom and knowledge of God's Word in their foreheads (Rev. 9:4) are mighty indeed for they have been given "power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt [them] you (Luke 10:19)!" And they certainly do rejoice in His Highness! Here is how Dr. Moffat translates verse 3:[3] I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
The army of the saints of the Most High God, men of martial pride, are not to be messed with because of what we just read in Luke 10:19! And that powerful army is coming with the King of kings and Lord of lords to wage war and take the kingdom and establish it forever and ever.Isaiah 13:3
For I have charged my chosen host to execute My wrath; my heroes I have summoned, my men of martial pride." (Moffat)
His army of sanctified ones are here on earth as well, and they have the full gospel armour on and in place ready to take a stand against the fiery darts the wicked one (Eph. 6)!Rev. 19:14-16
And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. [16] And He hath on his vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Yes, the army of the LORD of hosts is being mustered at this time as we go into Babylon which is one worldism called the New World Order! Are you one of His soldiers who is spiritually ready to take a stand against the fiery darts of that wicked one, even the false messiah who shall soon appear when he and his angels are cast out of heaven to this earth (Rev. 12:7-9)? That time is soon upon us and then the second witness, the proclamation of the gospel of the kingdom, shall be proclaimed to all nations exactly as Christ foretold us in Mark 13 and Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." And although those who are delivered up to give that proclamation are not to premeditate nor worry about what they will say (Mark 13:11), because as it is written the Holy Spirit shall speak through them at that time, the context of the message is that "the kingdom of God is coming to this earth", which means that the King of the kingdom and His mighty saints are coming to execute justice and to mete out just recompense in all the earth. It is written in the prophetic book for the last days titled "Yah is God", i.e. Jo-el! Here is the context of the proclamation to the nations:Isaiah 13:4
The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
To "proclaim" means to "herald" and "Gentiles" means "nations". In other words, the nations of the world better muster up all the troops they got because the King of kings and the mighty saints of the Most High God are coming to destroy their little old New World Order and cast the king of Babylon back into the pit for a 1,000 years (Rev. 20:3).Joel 3:9-11
Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
Once the King of kings comes to the Valley of Jehoshaphat (Yahveh judges) these guys are going to beat their swords back into plowshares and pruninghooks and they are going to learn how to use them too! Remember Isaiah 2:4, "And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more."[10] Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
Here come the mighty bruisers to destroy Babylon the Great and to take the kingdom and possess it forever and ever (Dan. 7:18)![11] Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.
The mother of all spiritual weapons is the Sword of the Lord, the all powerful Word of the Living God (Rev. 1:16) that destroys lies and deceit! Again to recap, at the end of this age the King of kings and Lord of lords is coming to this earth and His sanctified ones, God'sIsaiah 13:5
They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of His indignation, to destroy the whole land.
This documents the time frame of the destruction from the Almighty as being the last day of this flesh age, which is the first day of the Millennium, the time known as the Day of the Lord!Isaiah 13:6Rev. 19:11-14
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Talk about being filled with "terror"! Just wait until the Almighty shakes this old earth when He pours out His cup of wrath upon the ungodly! Then there shall really be a "wake-up call"! We can read the same thing in the Gospel of Luke, i.e. about the shaking and the fear struck in the hearts of men![7] Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
Jesus Christ is not coming at His second advent to ride a lowly ass into Jerusalem! He is coming on a white stallion with all power and authority to crush the New World Order and establish His kingdom upon this earth! And His saints are coming with Him and they shall execute His rod of iron as they reign with Him as kings and priests for a thousand years (Rev. 20:6)... seeing to it that the nations make good use of those plowshares and pruning hooks. Yes, the Day of the LORD is soon coming... but it begins for many as a "destruction from the Almighty" and they shall be sore afraid and many who profess to be Christians but are "sottish" indeed, shall be ashamed at His coming and shall wish the rocks and mountains to fall upon them rather than have to face the LORD! (Rev. 6:15-17 "And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; [16] And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: [17] For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" The answer as to "who shall be able to stand?" is that God's elect shall be able to stand... and they shall! You "see", they are not appointed to the wrath of God but rather to receive the reward of eternal life at His coming! 1 Thes. 5:9 "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ." Of course the reason they are not subject to the tribulation of the wrath of God is because He is not at all angry with those who love and serve Him. As for the rest who are rebellious and sottish and refuse to turn to Him and hear His voice, they have a rough road ahead of them!Luke 21:26-27
Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.[27] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
To have a "face as flames" is to be ashamed, red in the face, and in anguish! As we read in Rev. 6, the multitudes will try to hide their shameful faces because they will not wish to "face the Lord" at His coming! And so it is that they shall be sore amazed and utterly ashamed, in pain even as a woman in travail (see also 1 Thes. 5:3). But make no mistake about it, they are still going to "get it", i.e. get what is coming to them, because there is going to be a cleansing of the earth by "fire", the Holy Spirit of God, and the sinners are going to lose their high and lofty status and start plowing in the Word and using those pruninghooks... or else at the end of the Millennium they shall surely die the real death, which is called the second death in Rev. 20:14, the death of the soul! You "see", the death we experience in these flesh bodies is not the real thing! It is only a "shadow" of death (Ps. 23:4) which is a type, an ensample of the real thing! That is why Jesus Christ told us not to fear those who can kill the flesh but to reverence the One who can kill both soul and body in the lake of fire (Matthew 10:28 "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.")Isaiah 13:8
And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
Notice the definition of the Hebrew word "charown" translated as "fierce" in English and you will get a better picture of our Father's emotions:[9] Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
fierce, charown, khaw-rone', Hebrew 2740; or (shortened) charon, khaw-rone'; from Hebrew 2734 (charah); a burning of anger :- sore displeasure, fierce (-ness), fury, (fierce) wrath (-ful).
When Jesus Christ returns at the sound of the 7th Trump, the brightness of His coming shall pale into insignificance that of the sun and the moon and the stars! It is written here in Isa. 13:10, in Joel 3:15, in Mat. 24:29, in Mark 13:24, etc.[10] For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
Actually, when Jesus Christ returns you will see a brilliant flash of light, like lightning shining from the east unto the west, and this flesh age "under the sun" will be over. Matthew 24:27 "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Nevertheless, as it is written in that 3rd chapter of Joel, Yahshua Messiah is coming to the Valley of Jehoshaphat to judge the nations round about with righteousness and "reward" the wicked their just recompense according to their works!Joel 3:15
The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.Mark 13:24-25
But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,[25] And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
Hey, the glory days of super-preachers and slick politicians will be over. Their rich palaces and lofty statuses are all going to be destroyed! "Here are your ploughs fellas... now start making 'straight' rows instead of those crooked paths you are so accustom to!"Isaiah 13:11
And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
The gold of Ophir was the finest gold in the world, but even that perishes. You "see", God is going to put the heat to all men and hopefully make them into something worthwhile, even as His elect are precious to Him, much more precious than even the gold of Ophir![12] I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
So get ready for as we said in the opening paragraph of this study, when Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords who has all power in both heaven and earth (Mat. 28:18), returns to this earth with His mighty army of saints (Rev. 19:11-13) at the sound of the 7th Trump, there will be a spiritual shakeup on this planet the likes of which can only be compared to the "katabole"!1 Peter 1:7
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
As it was in the beginning (Jer. 4:19-26), in the first earth age, so shall it be at the end of the final season of this flesh age, for "there is no new thing under the sun"! So do not be willingly ignorant of the fact that Almighty God destroyed the first earth age when "...all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger (Jeremiah 4:26)!" He did it once before... and as Peter declares in 2 Pet. 3:7, He is going to do it again!Isaiah 13:13
Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
We live in the most exciting time in the history of the world, bar none, and that is because we live in the generation of the fig tree that began on May 15, 1948, when both the good and the bad figs were set out in the land of Judea according to Jeremiah chapter 24. Of course one would have to know the difference between the good figs and the bad figs that Jeremiah saw in order to know what peoples are being referred to, and Jeremiah the prophet did know. In these last days the sons and daughters of Acts chapter two, who are those brothers and sisters of the churches of Philadelphia and Smyrna who have eyes to see (understand) the "visions" that the prophets saw, also know who the good and the bad figs are. Nevertheless, it is by understanding the parable of the fig tree, something we were commanded to do by Jesus Christ in Mat. 24:32 and Mark 13:28, that lets us know with certitude that we live in the final generation, the generation He said would not pass away until all the things He foretold us of came to pass! Matthew 24:34, "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." And the good news for His disciples in these last days is... that we are not left in any doubt whatsoever concerning what those "things" are, i.e. the signs and events, because "behold", you "see", He has foretold us ALL THINGS! So all we have to do is read His Word with understanding and "take heed" to those things that are written! Mark 13:23, "But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things."
Again, what an exciting time to live knowing that there will be Baby Boomers who will see the return of Yahshua Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who shall come and destroy Babylon the Great as it is written in Rev. 18:7-10 and establish His everlasting kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Of course the destruction of Babylon of the Great in Rev. 18 is not new knowledge because here we are in the Old Testament, in the book of Isaiah, reading the same thing concerning the future doom of Babylon. Not only that, it is here in the foretelling of all things long ago through the visions of the prophets that we are also given historical types and fulfillments, such as when the Medes came against Babylon to destroy her, giving us not only a visual picture of how things are going down in the future fulfillment in these last days (1 Cor. 10:11), but also giving us the faith building evidence that God's Word is true and accurate, both THEN and NOW and on into the FUTURE!
Earlier we left off with Isaiah 13:13 where we learned that when Jesus Christ returns there is going to be a shakeup, an earthquake, in both heaven and earth the likes of which can only be compared to the "katabole" that ended the first earth age! Let us review and consider again that important verse before we complete this 13th chapter.
As it was in the beginning, in the first earth age, so shall it be at the end of the final season of this flesh age, for "there is no new thing under the sun"! So do not be willingly ignorant of the fact that Almighty God destroyed the first earth age where we read in Jeremiah 4:26 that "...all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger!" You "see", He did it once before, i.e. poured out His wrath upon the ungodly, and as Peter declares in 2 Pet. 3:7, He is going to do it again! 2 Peter 3:7 "But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." The prophets Zechariah and Haggai also speak of the great shaking in both the heavens and the earth whereby all the nations of the earth shall be shaken... to their knees... and shall come before the LORD of hosts who shall stand on Mt. Zion. This is extremely important because the time of the "great shaking" is close at hand!Isaiah 13:13
Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
You see, the countdown has already begun on the final events of this flesh age and the "earthquake" of His coming, likened also to the earthquake in the days of Uzziah (Amos 1:1, Zech. 14:5), draws ever so near! "Uzziah" means "Yah's Strength" for it is Yahveh Zaboath who does the shaking of the nations! Zech. 14:5 "And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee."Haggai 2:6
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
Question: When does the LORD my God come with all His saints? In Rev. 6:10 we find those saints asking that very question: "And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" The answer is, in a little while, for the Lord is longsuffering (2 Pet. 3:9), and then the final shakedown WILL take place! To wit, this 6th verse in Haggai chapter two is directly quoted by the apostle Paul in his letter to the Hebrews, so it is very important that we understand what is being said.
We are told in Haggai 1:8... "Go up to the mountain...", as in come unto mount Zion!Hebrews 12:22
But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Are you a "member" of the general assembly and church of the firstborn? You are if your name is written in the Book of Life which is in heaven![23] To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
This verse is quoted directly from Haggai 2:6. Make no mistake about it, our Father means business![24] And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.[25] See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
[26] Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
There is one thing that cannot be shaken and that is the immovable ROCK of our salvation, even Jesus Christ the Word of God. Hopefully you are well founded upon that Rock so that you too cannot be shaken because only those "houses" whose foundations are built upon The Rock shall remain and withstand the great shakings in these last days! All others shall be leveled! Luke 6:48 "He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock." So "dig deep" into your Father's Word and lay a solid foundation on the Rock upon which you can build a strong house that will not fall![27] And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
Our Father wants His house completed before He comes and pours out His wrath and shakes this earth to its foundations and consumes Babylon the Great by the fire (the brightness) of His coming! That means the work of Rev. 7:1-4 must first be finished and in doing so He has promised to be with us, even through all the "shakings", and then shall the "Desire of all nations come"! So terrorists and all evil doers BEWARE of our Father and His Word for He is a consuming fire and you are stubble indeed![28] Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:[29] For our God is a consuming fire.
The "desire of all nations" is Jesus Christ who WILL shake all nations and fill His house with His presence! He is THE GLORY thereof!The good news is that there will finally be peace because The Prince of Peace, The Desire of Nations, will be there. What a glorious time that will be!Haggai 2:7
And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
Let us now continue in Isaiah 13 with the doom of Babylon that precedes the time of that glorious peace.
This simply states that multiculturalist One Worldism shall come to a screeching halt and every man, woman, and child shall turn back to his or her own nation! When that destruction comes upon them they will be like chased gazelles who have run out of steam and dazed as sheep who are without a shepherd.Isaiah 13:14
And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
There shall be no place to run or hide from the LORD's strong arm of judgment against Babylon. Rev. 18:8 "Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her."[15] Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
There will no heirs left to carry on and there will be no riches left and there will be no "wives" left to take advantage of. Again, the final fulfillment of this is yet future, though it be not far off, but we are privileged to have the graphic historical type when God raised up the Medes against Babylon to give us a clear visual in our mind's eye of the complete destruction of Babylon the Great. Not only that, her complete destruction is made even more graphic as it is compared to God's overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah by fire and brimstone (see vs. 19 below).[16] Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
The filthy rich who are now able to pervert justice and literally get away with murder will not be able to use their gold and silver to buy their way out this time. That is because the great Judge who executes His righteous judgment against Babylon cannot be bribed nor bought off even with all the great wealth and riches of the New World Order! What is that to Him? Likewise, God's elect, those who seek truth and justice, those who are joint heirs with Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:17), are not interested in nor influenced by the filthy riches of Babylon the Great. They are here as bruisers to spiritually overcome her and take part in bringing about her downfall![17] Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
And so it is that the desolation in the historical type when the Medes came against Babylon was complete indeed. But again, as per 1 Cor. 10:11, this ensample was to show that the devastation of Babylon the Great in these last days shall in like manner be total and complete! How totally destroyed will she be? The analogy in the following verse will answer that:[18] Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.
All the glory of the harlot and the strength and power of Babylon the Great, the New World Order, shall be utterly destroyed and consumed by fire and brimstone when the cup of God's wrath is poured out upon the ungodly. Revelation chapter 18 also documents that for us![19] And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
Can a nation, even the whole world coming together as one nation, exist without God? No it cannot... and it shall not!Rev. 18:7-10
How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
As it is written, her destruction by the brightness of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thes. 2:8) will be as swift and complete as when He overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah! Got the picture?[8] Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
Oh what a sad day for the kings of the earth and the merchants and traffickers who worship the gods of gold and silver! What a great and mighty city Satan and his own did build up... removing and leaving God totally out of the foundation! By the way, that great city of Babylon in these last days is here now! Can you see it? It is that first Beast of Rev. 13:1, the one world political/economic system known as the New World Order that rises up from the sea (of people) and with the advent of modern technologies now has the crushing strength of a bear, the prowess and swiftness of a leopard, and the ability to spiritually rip and shred truth like the great cheek of a lion. It is happening right before our very eyes... just as it was foretold of in the Word of God! Have you "taken heed" to the things that are written, for "behold He has foretold us all things (Mark 13:23)!" The apostle Paul also warns us that if we think we are good standing with the Lord, because perhaps we go to church regularly or contribute money or time to charitable works or trust in men's words telling us that we are going to fly-away in some rapture when the king of Babylon (the false-christ) comes, but have not "taken heed" to the "things" that are written of old in God's Word as ensamples for our admonition in these last days, then we have no "foundation" upon which to stand and we SHALL FALL! 1 Cor. 10:11-12 "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. [12] Wherefore let him that thinketh he standethtake heedlest he fall." You "see", Babylon the great is soon coming down and all those who put their faith and trust in her power and riches are coming down with her![9] And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
Babylon the Great in these last days is not only coming down but there shall never again be a city such as her! Satan will never again be afforded a one world system such as he had at the end of the first earth age (Rev. 12:4) and such as he has at the end of this age (Rev. 13:1)![10] Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
When Jesus Christ returns He will establish the kingdom of God upon this earth and that kingdom shall last forever and ever and the shepherds of the people will no longer make their folds there in Babylon, which is to say confusion, but shall lead their people to the Glory on Mt. Zion.Isaiah 13:20
It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
This is the spiritual picture of Babylon the great which nothing but a dwelling place for unclean beasts and demonic spirits and those dirty birds of Satan's own offspring! We also read this same thing in Revelation![21] But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
What a disgusting city! She might look real pretty on the outside, but is that really the kind of dwelling place you want to live? Our Father doesn't like it and as we have documented in both the Old and the New Testaments, He is going to utterly destroy it when He pours out His wrath and brings His judgment upon her. So be wise in your Father's Word and take heed to His instructions and "come out of her"! Do not be partakers of her sins and abominations and blasphemies against the Most High God... and you won't go down with her when she is fallen, is fallen! Rev. 18:4 "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."Rev. 18:2
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
Yes, that time of her demise is "near to come" for even the days of Satan's reign over her and upon the earth have been shortened (Mat. 24:22, Mark 13:20). And that is good and comforting news for God's people who love and serve Him because it also means that the house of Israel and the house of Judah shall soon be restored as God gathers back His people under His rod and His sceptre.Isaiah 13:22
And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
Jacob is the natural seedline of the House of Israel. You "see", our Father is going to reclaim and gather back together the whole House of Israel when He restores Mount Zion, the seat of His government, at the sound of the 7th Trump! And the strangers, even all the nations of the world, shall join to Israel, meaning they will align themselves with His glorious kingdom set upon the high hill! It is written... and so shall it be! And remember that the kingdom of God shall be established for ever and ever so that even throughout the eternity all the nations shall be joined to His glory!Isaiah 14:1-3
For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
What a wonderful time we have to look forward to and those who have faith built upon the Rock know that this SHALL come to pass, confirming the written fact that we have the victory in Him (1 Cor. 15:57)!Rev. 21:24
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
This verse simply means that God's light, the truth of His Word, shall shine forth from the House of Israel unto all nations and the people shall become servants and handmaidens... meaning they will become sons and daughters who love and serve God like we read of in Acts 2:18 "And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy." To "prophesy" means to "teach" the prophets, i.e. to teach the Word of God. Of course during the Millennium God's elect will carry forth His laws and His statutes with a rod of iron, meaning that all nations and all peoples will submit to and adhere to His Word of righteousness. And so it is that the traffickers and oppressors of our people, even the kenites, shall submit themselves to the King of kings and Lord of lords, to His rule! Just remember though that His rule, i.e. His wonderful laws and statutes, bring about blessings and peace and happiness (Deut. 28:1-14). And so we read in Rev. 3:9 in the address to the servants and handmaidens who love and serve Him now, even the sons and daughters of the brotherhood (church of Philadelphia), that the kenites who claim to be of Judah, but who are not, will come and worship before their feet (else they get a stomping, Luke 10:19). In other words, "to worship before their feet" means the kenites shall worship Christ (follow His path) because God's elect will be at the feet of Christ seeing that they do! Rev. 3:9 "Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee."[2] And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.
Satan is not about to "open the house of his prisoners (Isa. 14:17)" but God SHALL, and He shall give His people rest for a thousand years from the oppression, the hard bondage, of Babylon the Great wherein they could not raise themselves up! They will then learn how to be at peace and harmony and enjoy the blessings from following Jesus Christ, the Word of God, the Tree of Life, and they will glorify God. That rest is the Lord's Day, His Sabbath, the 1000 years known as the Millennium (2 Peter 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.") This is revealed in the parable of the "woman (Israel) in bondage" in Luke 13 if you have the eyes to see and ears to hear it. By the way, "eighteen" in Biblical numerics denotes "bondage"![3] And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
Then at the end of that "Day" Satan will be released for a short season (Rev. 20:7) to test and gather any who still choose to follow his downward liberal path and eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Those who do "Shall surely die" as in perish forever and ever!Luke 13:11-16
And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. [12] And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. [13] And He laid His hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. [14] And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. [15] The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? [16] And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
In chapter 14 we shall learn a proverb against the king of Babylon and "see" on into the future time of the Millennium when "the world is at rest, and is quiet (Isa. 14:7)" and see what shall become of that wicked one, "...the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; [17] That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners (Isaiah 14:16-17)!"
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
