Pamphlet #4176
My Note: Letter to the readers.
Letter
to the readers of the King James Version of the Bible.
We recommend to all who study the Word of God to obtain
and read the letter that the translators of the 1611 KJV wrote to the English
reader.
Of course wouldn't you know it, that letter has been removed from the pages of most Bibles printed today which is surely to the advantage and benefit of someone other than the common man, isn't it?
Nevertheless, an excerpt from their Letter to the Reader of their King James Bible appears in our pamphlet #6057.
Today one does not need a "license" nor permission to obtain access to God's Word.
(The fact is back in 1611 one not only had to obtain a license to have access to the scriptures, he had to first be approved by his confessor to even be deemed worthy of obtaining that license.)
The Word of God is so readily available in our Bibles today even if this letter from the translators is no longer in it's preface.
Consider the verses we below read from Matthew 7:24-27 and ask yourself where you stand! Is your faith built upon the knowledge and wisdom from His Word or the vain traditions of men taught by churchianity?
Matthew
7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth
them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat
upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall
be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat
upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
