AMOS CHAPTER 9

Let us now consider some of the important things we have learned so far from this great Book of Amos, whose name means "burden". One very important lesson we need to See and Understand is that Amos was just a hard working herdman and a gather of sycamore fruit. He did not have a degree in theology nor did he graduate from a seminary! Yet he knew the Word of God because He loved the Lord and he loved studying His Word, whereas the big popular, well respected church preacher, Amaziah, who probably had man's credentials out the ying yang, had little time for God's Word and in fact rejected God's Word and banned His servant Amos from teaching truth in or anywhere near his big cathedral.

So never let some foolish virgin (either man or woman) tell you that you cannot understand God's Word or be used mightily by God because you are just an average middleclass hardworking person. Why? Because you now KNOW from the very Word of God that it is the LORD God, NOT MAN, who calls His servants and He alone who opens their eyes and ears to be able to see and understand the visions and the truth from His Word. And His servants show themselves approved by studying that Word (1 Tim. 2:15) and they are sanctified by that Word which is truth: (John 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.")

We also learned that Amos, the shepherd of a small flock, was from Tekoa, which means "trumpet" as in Trumpetville. That is revealing in itself, for if you were familiar with the 7 Trumpets of Revelation you would know that Amos was shown the same visions of the Trumpets that John saw. And Amos not only saw the devastation caused to date by the locust army in control of the Four Hidden Dynasties (Politics, Education, Economics and Religion), he saw the complete devastation through the 6th Trump which if God had not delayed the sounding thereof (Rev. 7:1-4) and shortened Apollyon and his locust armies defacto reign, there "would be no flesh saved", as in no one sealed by His truth.

It is just remarkable that Amos was shown by God thousands of years ago the curses (pestilences) of our day, which are those societal scourges, all the (fat cat) political and judicial injustices and the economic oppression through an usurious monetary system, using tipped balances, which is likened to the captivity (call it slavery) of the taskmasters of Egypt. And let us not forget to mention the corrupt leadership of the churches and the rejection of truth by the Amaziahs of Churchianity, for it precisely because of the famine of these last days that we as nation have incurred such pestilences. That's right, it is written that such curses, which again are the famines and pestilences, etc., of Mat. 24 and Mark 13, would come upon us as a RESULT of not studying and adhering to the Word of God, which is His Voice. "Well", you say, "if our Christian brothers and sisters are not listening to His Voice, then whose voice are they listening to?" Hey, you're starting to understand the sin of Samaria!!

If you have read God's Word with understanding and have learned from the prophet Amos what the famine of the end time really is (Amos 8:11), then it is really easy to See how unfortunate (but true) it is that the majority of our people listen to many, many preachers and ministers, even great Amaziah's, who all come in the name of Christ and yet deceive their congregations by teaching the blinding traditions of men and not God's Word chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Christ warned us about them, didn't He?

Also, if you understand the Word of God through His prophets, who all wrote about this final generation, it then becomes quite clear that Jesus Christ did not actually give us any new revelations in Mat. 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21! In fact, Jesus stated in Mark 13:23 that He had foretold us all things, even of "the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand)... (Mark 13:14)". Have you ever wondered what "let him that readeth understand" means? It means let him that reads the words of the Daniel (and the prophets) with understanding, know the full extent and the simplicity of what Christ was talking about, even the details of the spiritual desolation of the last days during the reign of Satan as the false-christ, the abominable one who will stand in the holy place claiming to be God.

No, there is nothing new under the sun. The curses Amos saw in our day were "promised" long, long ago (as we reckon time) to come upon us IF we listened and hearkened to men's voices instead of the Voice of the LORD thy God.

Here is what our Father said would happen if we were drawn away from His Word:

Deut. 28:15
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
The curses (pestilences) always follow "famine and thirst" which hopefully you have learned is for truth from His Word. He even promised back then to send a nation to afflict us and consume our productivity and oppress our people. And it has come
 to pass exactly as He said it would and Amos saw how bad things had become in our day.

Here is the promise of the curse of Hemath:
Deut. 28:33
The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:

Deut. 28:38
Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

Deut. 28:42
All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust
consume.

Joel spoke of and described the power of the locust army and John in Rev. 9 also described the locust army, but you know what? Amos SAW what that nation of locusts had consumed, for you SEE, his vision "which he saw concerning Israel (was) in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake (see Zech. 14:5)". If you have come this far and you understand the "timeframe" of Amos' vision and then you can take heed and you can look out your window now, in this 21st. century, and see what Amos saw! Can you SEE it? Can you SEE the famine for the hearing of His Word from sea to shining sea? Can you spot an Amaziah?
Deut. 28:38
Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

Deut. 28:42
All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.

Can you see the consumption of the locusts and economic oppression from our usurious, unconstitutional, and unholy monetary system which they control?

Deut. 28:43
The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

[44] He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

Who does the lending to our people? How astute are you? Maybe you can get a clue by knowing who it is that sets the prime interest rate they charge for their lending to us? Hello? Who is it that exspands the green and withdraws it? Who sets the controls of inflation (expanding the money supply) and deflation (shrinking the money supply)? Who is it that "shakes", yes, causes earthquakes in the markets when he speaks? Yet he is just a figurehead for those who really span the green. He is just the spokesman for that nation of lenders who have made us the tail that wiggles and wags at their command!
Too bad we have allowed Hemath to enter into our storehouse and consume away the fruit of our land, both physically and much, much worse spiritually!
Deut. 28:48
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
Sure hope you have learned what the hunger and thirst is in these last days. Nakedness is symbolic of unrighteousness and the want of all things is for all things spiritual, i.e. truth which sets us free. So welcome to bondage, to the captivity of the corrupt one world system, which is none other than the beast of Rev. 13:1 which has already risen from the sea, i.e. from among the people (Rev. 17:15).

Let us now complete the Book of Amos. The subject is still the House of Israel, i.e. the Christian nations of northwest Europe to the far western island of Britain, and today on to the Americas. We left off in the last verse of chapter 8 with the promise that they that swear by the god of Bethel, i.e. many of their churches, who is that false Jesus, shall fall. You see, worshipping the false-christ while believing he is actually the real Jesus IS the sin of Samaria, i.e. the sin of America and Great Britain and Canada and those Christian nations who have now become distressed and oppressed and afflicted at the hand of the locust nation. The fair virgins and young men do faint in this generation because of thirst, because of the dearth for truth. In other words, they have no idea that they are worshipping the wrong Jesus because they are ignorant of the Word of God. Though their Amaziah's/preachers and other denominational leaders, in the churches of our land bring them into the Bethels, they bring them to the altar of the Golden Calves of Samaria. They have been sorely deceived in their minds which means they already carry the "Mark of the Beast? in their foreheads but they know it not.
Now learn even from the Book of Amos that the LORD God will destroy the temple of false worship (the churches who do not teach the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter and verse by verse; Not some brick and mortar structure in Jerusalem, like many people teach!) and every idol with it when He returns

Please read the following because the return of Christ is not about some kind of physical destruction to your person or to any kind of brick and mortar building; It is about your soul, it's spiritual.

Prophecies Concerning the Millennial Kingdom

 Chapters 40-48 of Ezekiel tell us more about Christ's Millennial Kingdom, right here on earth, which is a spiritual kingdom for the flesh age will have ended at His return.

The Millennial Temple "Within the Temple":

#8041   The Millennium Temple we are reading about in these last nine chapters of Ezekiel is to "show the way", the plan, to the true Temple, which is the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb.
#8042   What is the Plan of God for the final 1000 years commonly called the Millennium, which precedes the Great White Throne Judgment and the entering into the Third Earth Age, the age of eternal happiness?
#8043   Our Father has given us a PICTURE of this Millennial temple and its laws and ordinances that we may see the plan of God in the Millennium
#8044   Is everyone who claims to be a Christian going to be able to enter the kingdom and sit at the feet of Jesus during the Millennium?
The Millennial Temple "Without the Temple":
Chapters 45-48
#8045   If you read older Bible commentaries written before the twentieth century you will see how little Ezekiel chapter one was understood until now.
#8046   No, the sacrifices in the Millennium will not be of blood and sacrificial animals any more than it is today, but they must be of the same spirit of love and service that causes those who truly believe in Jesus Christ to hunger and thirst after righteousness... every day.
#8047  There IS a condition here, though as we noted it is not of race or nationality. The condition is simply "IF" you thirst.
#8048   What a time the Millennium will be!
Amos 9:1 I saw the LORD standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered.
Amos saw the LORD standing beside (not upon) the altar of deception, even symbolic of the temple Christ said He would destroy when He returns. In Hebrew the word "lintel" is "kaphtor", Strong's #3730, which means the "capital" or top of a column. Call it the "forehead" of the column if you like because it is those who have not the seal of God in their foreheads who will die that spiritual death by the sword. Why? Because they worship at that temple! Although this 1st verse declares it so, verse 10 makes it even more clear.
Amos 9:10
All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
Most Christians do not believe that the king of Babylon is coming and that calamity (which is what "evil" should read in this verse) is going to come upon them and "overtake" them. They believe that Jesus is coming to "Rapture" them away and they will not face the sword of the false-christ, which the Lord sends (therefore it is His sword just as the locust army is His). Now who told them that? It is certainly not in the Word of God? In fact, Paul makes so clear in 2 Thes. 2 that the son of perdition comes and sits in the temple and claims He is God BEFORE we gather back to Christ. Satan when he comes as the spurious messiah will show forth great signs and wonders and cause the great falling away, the great apostasy, by convincing the whole world that He is Jesus Christ. God's elect will not only be here, but they will be delivered up and give witness as the Holy Spirit speaks through them. Why put on the Gospel Armor (Eph. 6) to stand against the fiery darts of Satan if you are going to be gone? Go figure!

Again, what is the sin of Samaria? It is to worship the false god of Bethel/church. It is to have the Mark of the Beast in your forehead instead of the Seal of God in your forehead. The words Mark and Seal mean the same thing. Call it the Seal of Satan and the Seal of God or the Mark of the Beast and the Mark of the Lord. It is what is IN your MIND. And all those who worship the beast, the false messiah, shall be spiritually slain in this final generation. There shall be NO ESCAPE, no where to run and hide.

Amos 9:2
Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:
There shall be no escape. Though they try to bury their heads, He will pull them out. Though they seek to escape to the clouds, He will bring them down.
[3] And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:
There shall be no escape. They cannot hide in the security of their prosperity. They cannot hide in the sea, which is people who gave rise to the beast (Rev. 13:1), even the great majority. For the serpent shall surely bite them and they will die a spiritual death as those who died in the wilderness who were bitten by fiery serpents. (Numbers 21:6 "And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died." There is a physical, visible type/example in God's Word for all the spiritual things that shall happen in this generation so we can clearly SEE and understand what is happening (read 1 Cor. 10:11).
[4] And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.
Time's up! It is soon harvest time. The summer fruit can be seen and "The end is come upon My people Israel"! He will NOT pass by their sins any more.
Amos 8:2
And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.
Understand also that the tribulation is brought about by the hand of our Father.
Amos 9:5
And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
Make no mistake about it. It is the Lord GOD of "hosts", which means armies, even the locust army, who is responsible for the desolation which shall overflow the whole land as the flood of the Nile. You must also see that God uses the spiritual sword of the desolator, Satan, the king of Babylon, to bring that destruction, that spiritual desolation, upon "the sinners of His people" who think they stand with their false god of Bethel. As it is written, the majority of Christianity will believe that Jesus Christ has returned when they fall down and worship the false Jesus, because their so-called Christian church is not teaching them how to tell the difference between what is holy (Jesus) and what is profane (Satan).

So do not think that God is not in complete and total control at ALL TIMES! And if you are one of His, you have nothing to worry about for it is not you your Father is angry with.

[6] It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.
Again, the Creator God of Heaven and Earth is in total control. Do you realize that no one can do ANYTHING without Him allowing it. In other words, if calamity and tribulation comes upon our people, you can rest assured He let it happen! Remember He even prepared (formed) the locusts to come upon the land (Amos 7:1)? The apostle Paul has a way of explaining who is in charge of all things:
Col. 1:16
For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Do you get the point? He created both the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1:1). Go ahead, try to run and hide.
[17] And He is before all things, and by him all things consist.
All means ALL, all things in heaven and all things in earth!
Amos 9:7
Are ye not as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir?
Do you know who inherited the national blessings of the covenant promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Yes, the descendants of those children He brought up out of the land of Israel. Look around you! There has never been another nation so bless as this nationI, i.e. THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA. And yet, those 10 "Lost" tribes of the House of Israel who were scattered among the nations to the isles of the west, do not even know who they are! They call themselves gentiles and believe they are just like any other gentile nation. No, He is not happy that His people who have forsaken His Word.
[8] Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.
The sinful kingdom, engulfed in the New World Order, the beast of Rev. 13:1, shall be destroyed and the temple and all idolatry along with it. Yet there shall be a remnant of His people that shall be saved.
[9] For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.
And so it is that we, who make up the Christian nations of the world,  were scattered abroad in and sifted through the nations. Yet He knows exactly where each and everyone of us, His children are.

  John's Note:  Always remember the Jewish religious leaders, of that day when Jesus was crucified, were not descended from Judah or Benjamin (the former "House of Judah"). They were non Israelites descended from Cain, i.e. Kenites who had infiltrated the church back during its Babylonian captivity five centuries earlier.  This is also the case today in that little country in the middle east we now call Israel.

The former "House of Israel" has today formed the nucleus of our Christian nations located in Europe and the Americas. While the former "House of Judah" after being heavily infiltrated by Kenites, way back in 586 B.C. have since been further infiltrated in 740AD when the Khazar ruler - and probably the greater part of the ruling classes - were converted to Judaism

Amos 9:10
All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.
Do you believe men or the Word of God? The sinners of His people are those foolish virgins who would rather listen to men's traditions and sing their songs of praise of worship in their Bethels/churches instead of seeking Him and obeying His Voice. Remember He hates those songs by those who ignore His Word, i.e. forsake Him. What He loves is for justice and righteousness to flow like a river throughout the land. That is music to His ears, not songs of mere religious worship.

Yes, the sinners of His people shall die (spiritually) by the sword and not rise up to eternal life at Christ's return. They shall stand naked and ashamed (Rev. 6:15-17) for the sin of Samaria, idolatry, and wish that the mountains and hills would fall upon them rather than face the King of kings and Lord of lords. They will go through the winepress and the 1000 years of teaching we call the Millennium after which they can be raised up to eternal life at the Great White Throne Judgment. This is the second resurrection, or it will be the second death for those who do not make it (Rev. 20:14).

So there is good news because the Plan of God, though it entails tough love, is designed to bring His children, even of all nations (not just Israel), into His loving arms. Let us now read of the restoration of His people in the Millennium, in that day when the Lord returns.

Amos 9:11
In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
The idolatrous temple, i.e. worship as set up by Satan, "MYSTERY BABYLON", shall be destroyed and not one stone will be left standing atop another when Jesus Christ returns. And He will raise up the true tabernacle of David, the Temple of God, and the kingdom of His people shall be restored.

[12] That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.
The King of kings and Lord of lords shall rule with His saints in that day when "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth (Philip. 2:10)". In other words, all nations will, under the Kingdom of God. Did you know these last two verses we just read were quoted by James in the Book of Acts? James declares the depth of the incredible Plan of God which includes all races and all peoples of the earth.

Here it is:
Acts 15:13
And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

[14] Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

Salvation is open to ALL. The Lamb of God paid the price for anyone who will Seek Him!
[15] And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written,
James meant "as it is written" in the Book of Amos. I guess James also knew the scriptures, didn't he?

 Here is his quote from Amos:
[16] After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:

[17] That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

Yes, all the Gentiles, all those remnant of the nations who "seek after the Lord", have their place in the Kingdom of God too! And you know what? It has been our Father's plan from the beginning!
[18] Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
The beauty is that His Plan is designed for the good of all His children whereby He can restore His family and shower His blessings upon His children. For that gives Him the utmost pleasure and that is the very reason He has created you and your brothers and sisters (Rev. 4:11).

Let's read about those days ahead when all the evil rudiments are burned up by His fire and true Peace and prosperity become reality because the Prince of Peace reigns on high.

Amos 9:13
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
The blessings will be so abundant that the reaper won't be able to keep up with the bountiful harvest before it's seed planting time again.
[14] And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
He will bring His people Israel under His wing as before and they shall eat the fruit of their own labor, instead of the locusts consuming most of it through taxes and fixed markets and usury and deceit.
[15] And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.
What a glorious time that will be!

In conclusion, it just seems fitting to end this great Book of Amos with the simple instructions our Father gave to us long ago.

Deut. 30:11
For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
The Word of God is so simple and so available to anyone and everyone who hungers and thirsts!! In other words, THERE NEED BE NO FAMINE! Pick up the Word of God and start eating and drinking from the bountiful table of the Lord.
[12] It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Don't you now see that a simple herdman can understand the visions of God's Word simply by allowing Him to show them to him or her?
[13] Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Are you looking to some guru or prophet or seer who understands dark sayings? Open the Word of God and Seek Him,
and ye shall live.
[14] But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
Be as Ezekiel and John and Jeremiah. Take it and eat it and absorb it until it becomes part of you. Ezekiel 3:2-3 "So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll. [3] And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness." The roll is the Word of God.
[15] See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
It is the Word of God that gives you life.
[16] In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
We already covered what it means to love the LORD thy God with all your heart and all your soul. If you think that just smiling and saying "Isn't it nice to know Jesus" is all that is required, while as individuals and as a nation we ignore His commands and His statutes and His judgments and through our ignorance of His Word allow liberalism, socialism, communism and all the subtle little do gooder programs that incrementally eat away at the truth, then you are in big trouble. Idolatry and liberalism will NOT be tolerated nor permitted in the Millennium. As it is written in Ezekiel 44:23-24 God's elect will hold the plumbline and execute His righteous Word.
Ezekiel 44:23
And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

[24] And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.

If you do not wish to hear His Voice and just go to Bethel/most churches and listen to Amaziah, and sing some songs, and place your sacrifice in the plate, that is your decision. Your Father has given you free will and you are executing it. But, if you do,
Just remember the end thereof!

How are you doing with it?
Deut. 30:17
But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
You see, there is nothing new under the sun, meaning in this second earth age where the sons of God dwell in flesh tabernacles, i.e. Animal Bodies, and walk under the sun for a short spell. In the first earth age we did not walk in flesh bodies under the sun, i.e. our bodies were spirit bodies, not of flesh. But it is written in Rev. 12:3 that in that first earth age the Dragon, that old serpent who was in the midst of the 12 stones of fire (Ezek. 28), drew away one third of God's children. How did he do it? It is so simple yet so subtle: He simply gets people to listen to him, to eat of his fruit, instead of adhering to the Word of God, just as he did with Eve, In The Garden of Eden!

Therefore KNOW THIS and know it well. If you listen to preachers, teachers, pastors, politicians, popes, priests, elders or anybody else without CHECKING them out in God's Word, the probability that you are being fed and therefore eating bad fruit is humongous. Don't you know your very soul depends on it? Christians are so worried about suffering a little pain in the flesh that they listen to unscriptural, unfounded "fly away" stories, while they ignore His Word, which means they have FORSAKEN HIM and refused to listen to His Voice.

So go for it Christian. You can be a wise virgin or a foolish one who shall faint, which means to fall in the great apostasy of these end times.

But it was written long, long ago that if you eat of that bad fruit, just as Adam was told in the Garden, in the day you do you shall surely DIE! Adam lived just short of one of the Lord's Days
[16] And the LORD God commanded the man, (Adam) saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
Adam was told that he could eat of every tree that is good for food,  etc.

As the next verse states, He is talking about spiritual food?

[17] But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
But, there is a "tree" in the midst of the garden,  
which has the knowledge of good and evil, that Adam better stay away from,
or it will cost him his life.
It's pretty clear He's talking spiritual food here!

As you may already know, Adam falls short and disobeys God,
and dies at age 930, just 70 years short of one of the Lord's days.

Do you know how long a "day" is with the Lord?

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing,
that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years,
and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8)."

[18] I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.
So here is your Father's charge to you:
[19] I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

[20] That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto Him: for He is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Do you want to be in that blessed Kingdom with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob and your loved ones who have passed on in the Lord? He has given you a choice. Now it is up to you. Always remember these words of our Father through the herdman, Amos:

Amos 5:4
... Seek ye Me, and ye shall live:

[5] But seek not Bethel...

[6] Seek the LORD, and ye shall live;

... lest He break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
