Caution to students of God's Word - Please remember two things when using our American Wisdom Series studies:
#1. Our commentary is not God's Word. It is only our interpretation or understanding of "His Word" and even though we try our best to be accurate we may or may not be correct. #2. The King James translation, or any other translation, of the original Hebrew text has some words which were given different translations at different places probably because of the interpreters preconceived ideas of what they think God meant to say. For example: According to the notes in the "Drake's Annotated Reference Bible" the Hebrew word hayah in the KJV is Trans. (became) 67 times, (becamest or came to pass) 505 times, (become) 66 times, and (come to pass) 131 times, but for some reason in Genesis 1:2 it is translated (was)! That sure changes the way a person perceives the original creation of the earth, doesn't it?  Gen. 1:2 And the earth was (became) without form, ... Having said that, let us continue with our "studies". These studies contain knowledge, we believe, you must have to fully and accurately unlock and understand the Word of God.
May the Holy Spirit be your only guiding light. Sincerely, John Rhine

Revelation 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 16:13-14
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Without the leading by the Holy Spirit, there is no understanding of the truths, for all the truth of the Scriptures are revealed to us by God's Spirit.

Now here is our revised study of:

JOB

Chapter 7

"Job Continues His Reply to Eliphaz's First Address."

The book of Job can be very depressing if you lose sight of what the book is about. Job was a perfect man in the eyes of God, but Satan has been allowed to test Job by taking away all his wealth to see if he will curse God. At the end of Job's testing, Satan covered Job's body with sores from one end to the other.

Job is a type of God's elect for these end times, for in the end days of this earth age, Satan will again be allow to test God's elect for the sake of proving their trust worthiness. Even though Job had to tolerate the trouble that Satan placed upon him; after Christ went to the cross, God's elect and those, of us, that put our trust in him don't have to put up with Satan and his evil spirits in our lives. We can order them out of our lives and away from our families, in Jesus name. However we must take the authority that Christ has placed within each of us, and act upon that authority. This is not talking about the power of positive thinking, for the power is not from ourselves, but from the Holy Spirit of God.

It was the power of positive thinking that brought Job down. By the blood of Jesus Christ and the strength that we have in Christ, we are given the power over all evil that would try to control our lives. So the second lesson that we are to learn from this book is that God may allow Satan to do certain things in our lives. He will do this to see if you have the knowledge and wisdom, which you can only get from Him, to take control and send him away.

When you undergo a loss and you can't see where it has come from, than seek wisdom from God, and pray that He will reveal what it is that is to be learned from this experience. God may have a special purpose or mission for you and your life, and see to it that you will be obedient to that purpose.

When you are one of God's elect, you will be made of the right stuff to be able to endure the short suffering that you might have to endure for the sake of God's kingdom and plan. As long as you have Christ to lean on, you will be able to take anything that Satan brings your way. "There is no temptation taken you but such is common to man, but God will, with that temptation provide a way of escape, so that you may bear it." This is a promise that you can count on.

Job 7:1 "Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?"

Job is continuing his answer to Eliphaz. This word for "man" as used here is "enosh" in the Hebrew text, and it refers to "mortal man or woman". The question asked; "Is not mortal man or woman appointed to their time here on earth to do a specific job or duty." A "hireling" is one that is hired to do one specific task. Think of those angels or souls prior to the time of being placed in the earthen mortal bodies. When God assigned each soul to come into this world age of the flesh, God had a appointed duty for each of His elect to do before that soul was born from within the womb of his or her mother. God had commanded that each soul would enter this earth age into the embryo, be born and walk as a mortal man or woman for an appointed time on this earth.

Job 7:2 "As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for the reward of his work:"

Just as a servant is panting and desireth the shadow from the heat of the day, so also the hireling, when he is performing the duties of his work and looking for the reward for his completed job. Spiritually speaking, with all the persecution placed upon Job, Job also is looking forward to a great reward from the Father. Job felt that he was a righteous man, and now he is asking, where is my reward? as he looked down on his boils, and being left without any family and wealth.

Job 7:3 "So am I made to possess months of vanity, and wearisome nights are appointed to me."

Job is asking, what good is there to any of my life? as he is looking sadly upon his life.

Job 7:4 "When I lie down, I say, `When shall I arise, and the night be gone?' and I am full of tossings to and fro unto the dawning of the day."

This is the worst type of existence that any person could have, for during the day Job is looking for a time to lie down, and when the night does come, he is waiting anxiously for the night to pass and the day to come. There is no purpose in Job's life that he can understand within his mind. Job's life with great wealth is gone, and all that he held dear was taken from him. He was left with great sickness, and a cloud hanging over his head pertaining to his future.

Stop and look at the people of today that do not have the truth in their lives, for their very existence is just as Job is describing here. There is so many pressures in the world, both brought on by their own ignorance, as well as by Satan, and they simply can see no purpose for their lives. As this one world order is coming on our nation and interfering with our lives, we don't know from one day to another what will be happening, or what we will hear on the news. There is no stability in the world at this time, outside of the knowledge that comes from the truth from God's Word.

If you have that knowledge of God's Word pertaining to these end times and you know what to expect, than thank God for that wisdom and knowledge. God's plan will come to pass exactly as it is written, and you will be living in this world to see the events of the end times passing before you. It is time to love our people when they are confused over the problems of today, and life seem to be boring to them, just as it was for Job. Job is asking, Why am I here in this flesh body?

Job 7:5 "My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and become loathsome."

Job is saying that every time one of these boils heals over, it simply breaks open into another sore. There is no hope that Job can see for the future. Every time Job thinks he is getting better, it turns out to be a worse condition than before. You can see the great depression that Job is going through in this time of sickness. Job still hasn't figured out yet that it is Satan that is bringing all this trouble on him.

Job 7:6 "My days are swifter than a weavers's shuttle, and are spent without hope."

Life is passing by so fast that there isn't even a gleam of hope for me. Have you ever known anyone in that condition to where they think there is no hope? To them there is only despair? If this is you, it is time to stop and reset your direction for life. Seek the wisdom from God's Word, and set out to be somebody for God.

Job 7:7 "O remember that my life is wind: mine eye shall no more see good."

Job 7:8 "The eye of him that hath seen me shall see me no more: Thine eyes are upon me, and I am not."

Have you seen others in the same condition that Job is in here? In modern day language, Job is saying; "I don't know if I can go on any more like this." "I don't know if I can take it any longer." Job is sinking deep into depression in his mind.

Job 7:9 "As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more."

The grave as spoken of here is that grave of the departed souls. It is also called "paradise". It is the place where all souls go when the flesh dead body is placed in the grave. It is a place of beauty and not a place of despair for those that love the Lord.

Job 7:10 "He shall return no more to his house, neither shall his place know him any more."

The soul at death will return no more to any flesh body, and this is saying that after death his soul will never again return to this earth age in a flesh body. A soul returning to any flesh body a second time around is what is called "reincarnation" and that is not possible, ever. That is what Job is saying here. Reincarnation is playing with "familiar spirits", evil spirits, and that is why God forbid it in any form.

Job 7:11 "Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul."

Job is going to ask God when he dies to explain why this has all come over him, when he had tried to be righteous in all his ways. Do you see why God isn't answering Job? It isn't God that is doing the punishing of Job, but Satan is doing the punishing. Why would God answer Job when there is no answer to give. Don't be so quick to judge God in any matter, when you have no idea what the divine plan of God is.

If you have the power and authority to drive Satan from your life today, than who do you have to blame for any of the acts that Satan would bring upon you? That's right, yourself.

Job 7:12 "Am I a sea, or a whale, that Thou settest a watch over me?"

Job is asking, am I some big sea monster that God has to watch over me, to chain or restrain me?

Job 7:13 "When I say, `My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint;"

Job 7:14 When Thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions:"

Job is saying, when I go to sleep at night, you won't let me sleep but you terrify me through these visions. Remember what Satan said to God in the first chapter? Satan told God that if he would remove the fence that God build around Job, I would tare him down to where Job would curse God to his face. Go back and review Job 1:9-12, and you will see that it is Satan that is bringing these visions on Job, and Job doesn't even know it. Job hasn't cursed God, but he is blaming God because he hasn't figured out yet where the trouble is coming from. When Satan tries to torment you today, see to it that you do not allow him to do so.

Today when a child dies at the and of murderer, the first person that gets the blame for the heinous act is God. When gang wars break our and innocent people are killed or injured, the question become; "Why did God allow it?" My fellow Christian, they are accusing God of something that Satan did, exactly and these three so-called friends of Job are doing, and God doesn't like it.

The human mind under the control of Satan uses these three methods of forcing you to sin against God
so wake up if you call yourself a Christian.

Those three methods of accusing God for Satan's acts again are from a standpoint of "human experiences" as Eliphaz is doing. We will see Bildad using "human tradition", those things that mother taught, passed down by tradition, that have nothing to do with God's teachings. Zophar will use "human merit" to judge Job's right standing before God. Don't forget that all three of these methods of judging someone for anything happening is of the devil, not of God, so beware the next time we fall into that trap.

Job 7:15 "So that my soul chooseth strangling, and death rather than my life."

Job 7:16 "(I loathe it: I would not live always): let me alone; for my days are vanity."

"Vanity" is "emptiness". Job says that he knows of nothing in his life that is good for any purpose to God. He can see nothing being accomplished through the troubles and sickness brought upon him. Don't ever let yourself slip to that point, for each soul is somebody to God, and He has a purpose for you.

Job 7:17 "What is man, that Thou shouldest magnify him? and that Thou shouldest set Thine heart upon him?"

Job is asking the Father, why do you love man, and why do you desire to visit him every morning? and you try him every moment?

Job 7:18 "And that Thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?"

Job is saying that every time he gets out of bed he is so sore I can't hardly move, Father.

Job 7:19 "How long wilt Thou not depart from me, nor let me alone till I swallow down my spittle?"

"till I swallow down my spittle" is a saying that meant, "for a short moment". Job is saying, If you just leave me alone for a moment.

Job 7:20 "I have sinned; what shall I do unto Thee, O Thou Preserver of men: why hast Thou set me as a mark against Thee, so that I am a burden to myself?"

In the Hebrew it looses a little in the translation. Job is now agreeing with Eliphaz; "I am a sinner, but I have done nothing so bad as to deserve this." Job lived this lesson, and it should be a lesson that we will never live through.

If you miss the lesson that God is giving to us through Job's suffering, than Job suffered in vain. God is showing us how Satan will cause suffering to come your way, if you allow it to happen.

Before you strike out and accuse God for faults that come your way, put the blame where it lies. Have you taken the authority and power that God has given you, and ordered those things out of your life, or are you sitting back and taking all the Satan has to thrown your way. When God decides to test you, and you will be tested, stand up and take it like a child of God. If it is not of God, than you are to order it out of your life. Christ is our shelter, and He is there when the trial get too strong for us to bear.

Job 7:21 "And why dost Thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and Thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be."

This loses a lot in the translation. But Job did not forsake God at any point in his life. Job is saying that he knows that in the end, he knows that God will make all things right. However Job is saying that by the time that you come to make things right, I am already going to be dead. Job is telling God that he just cannot go on this way any more. Job is feeling the pressure from God, and he is asking God to do something about it. Job knows that God will forgive him for any sins that he has committed, but he still wonders when God will step in and do something about it.
