Without the leading by the Holy Spirit, there is no understanding of the truths, for all the truth of the Scriptures are revealed to us by God's Spirit.

Jeremiah

Chapter 5

"Investigation and Incrimination."

This chapter is investigative in that we should look around ourselves today, to see where these things are taking place. Have you noticed any of these things going on, and felt that there was nothing new under the sun? It seems that no day is the same, and that our people are going lower and lower. That is why we are to investigate.

Jeremiah 5:1 "Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it."

Get out into the business areas, and the streets of the community, and know what is going on around you. God is saying to go even out into the outskirts and look it over real good, and absorb everything that is happening there.

This is not speaking in the literal sense, but in the spiritual sense; that as far a God is concerned, the people absolutely are Biblically illiterate. They care less about the letter that He has written to them, and they seem to be living in a daze, or stupor with a spirit of slumber that God has set upon them. They see things happening all around them, yet they don't understand why things are happening as they are; when it is so obvious to those that do just a little studying in God's Word.

They just don't understand the times that we live in, nor the dangers of the great deception that are spreading across the face of the earth. We can look at the history of the fall of the house of Judah to Nebuchadnezzar, and amplify that as a type of what is happening in and to our generation. My fellow Christiain, it will continue to get worse until the only people who are not deceived leading up to the day that the true Christ appears will be the elect of God.

The way we know that this is used as a figure of speech, in that there were good men there in Judah at that time, and therefore this is directed to the nation at large. They were illiterate of the Scriptures, and allowed false preachers and prophets to control their minds.

Jeremiah 5:2 "And though they say, The LORD liveth; surely they swear falsely."

Today, just like then, even if you go into a house of God, they swear that what they are saying is directly from God, and then they teach a bunch of false information. The false preachers go on deceiving the people, they teach their lies and false doctrines, and swear that it is in the Father's name.

This should remind you of the warning that Jesus gave in Matthew 24:4, and 5; "And Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take heed that no man deceive you." [4] "For many shall come in my name, saying `I am Christ;' and shall deceive many."[4] They will claim to be a preacher or teacher of Jesus Christ, but, you must know the Word well enough to know when what they are saying is truth or a fairy-tale from their own deceiving lips.

When they tell you that they talk to God everyday, and sware that God talked to them. The Holy Spirit will always lead, but it will be in accordance with the Word of God. The Spirit of God will not contradict what is written in God's Word, so when they say something that the Spirit gave them, and it doesn't check out within God's Word, then you know they lie, and the truth is not in them.

Jeremiah 5:3 "O LORD, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return."

God doesn't answer their prayers, and bless them or their churches, yet they don't seem to be grieved about it. Why? They think they are doing great. Their minds and foreheads are so set in their traditions of men and false doctrine, that they wouldn't understand the true Word of God if it was forced upon them. They have refused to return to the Word of God. They are Biblically illiterate.

The famine in the end times is not for food and bread, but for hearing the Word of God. Amos 8:11, 12 tells us; "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:" [11] "And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and from to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it." [12]

We should study chapter by chapter and verse by verse, and keep the fairy-tales out of it. That is what is said here, investigate what men are saying, and see what they are doing. Take this to heart, and look around you and investigate those teachers that come to you, all of them, including this one. Prove all men in the Word of God.

Jeremiah 5:4 "Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God."

Those that babel in their teachings, and spout off in their fairy-tales just don't understand the Word of God. How could the people know what is right when those that are doing the teaching, and the leading are telling the people that they don't have to know the book of Revelation, or to study the old Testament. So called church leaders who have cut out so much of the Word of God that is critical to our times. They don't know the judgments of God, because they just don't understand those judgments in His Word.

To show how illiterate they are, many of these so called pastors will tell you that the church is not mentioned after Revelation 4. Which shows that they have not read Revelation 22, because the church is also mentioned in 22. Watch out for them, and their traditions of men, and systems.

Jeremiah 5:5 "I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds."

Even the upperclass and leaders of the church systems, that claim to know the way of the Lord have pulled so far away from the Word of the Lord, that they don't even know their own spiritual condition. They do not know the difference between the House of Israel, or the House of Judah, and they don't know where the houses are today. They are so Biblically illiterate that they automatically have it fixed in their mind, that there isn't even a division at this time between the House of Israel and House of Judah. They are ignorant of God's Word. They are foolish in overlooking God's Word, and forming their own traditions.

It is important for us to understand the difference between the two of these houses, because each of them have their duties to perform. If you don't have any idea who you are, or what you belong to, then how can you perform the duties that God expects of you. How can you instruct anyone in the matters of God's Word as relating to our generation.

Jeremiah 5:6 "Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased."

The lion shall slay them with deception, The wolves of the evening shall spiritually destroy them, and the leopard that watches over them lies in wait for them, to devour them as they pass by. Those people that call themselves Christians will be torn in pieces because of their revolts against God and His Holy Word. They have become so ignorant in God's Word that they don't know what to expect. Their "backslidings" are their apostacy, the falling away from the instructions of God's Word. Their apostacy continues over and over again, that is what the Hebrew states.

Open your ears, and look around you, and listen to what men are saying in the name of God. Then take God's Word and check it out and prove their words.

Jeremiah 5:7 "How shall I pardon thee for this? thy children have forsaken me, and sworn by them that are no gods: when I had fed them to the full, they then committed adultery, and assembled themselves by troops in the harlots' houses."

God is asking, How can I pardon them for failing to teach My Word to their own children? They have not been taught the truth, and simply do not know what to believe. After I had given them my Word, they turned to "adultery", or idolatry in the Hebrew; that is to say, other teachings.

Today they call those "harlots houses" Christian churches. They continue to look for something new, even after they had been fed, or given God's Word. God fed them with every book that is in your Bible, yet they are searching for something other then what God has given to them. Within those Scriptures are all the food you need for your spiritual and daily lives, if you will but take the time to absorb it. 

[Now, lets all turn to page 16 in our Sunday school quarterly] Does that sound familiar? 

The nations are doing exactly what they are doing today, because it is prophesied in the Scriptures, and our Heavenly Father would not have you ignorant of what is going to happen to our generation. Recognize that the prophecies that were written long ago are happening exactly on time documenting that the Word of God is accurate in detail. It could become very disturbing to be living around the events that are marking the close of this generation, without the knowledge that God is in control. Praise God for His Word, and that Word fills us daily.

Jeremiah 5:8 "They were as fed horses in the morning: every one neighed after his neighbour's wife."

God is saying that He pampered them, even from the wanderings in the desert, God took care of them. "Everyone neighed after his neighbour's wife", is in the spiritual sense. Every one is looking at his neighbors church, and wandering after some other one's belief. They just can't wait to experience some new spiritual feeling or experience. They are not satisfied with God's Word.

We see it in every denomination today, they have allowed new and strange ideas to mix with their doctrines, to where it is watered down and little more then traditions. They chase after the eastern religions, to adopt their ideas into their church practices, to make themselves a more religious person.

Christianity is not a religion, but it is a reality, and you live it every day, if you keep yourself informed from your Father's Word. You don't have to go looking somewhere else, but everything you need is contained in your Bible. Don't trust anyone else with your salvation, check it out for yourself.

Jeremiah 5:9 "Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?"

God is not happy with His people, you bet He is going to visit these things. Even after God has done all that He has done for these people, He has sent them the prophets, fed them, protected them, and even sent them His own Son to die on the cross, to take on their sins, and find peace and contentment, if they would walk in His ways. God is asking, What should I do with a bunch of people like this?

What would you do if you had given your children all that they could ever want, and then they turned on you, rejected you, and and talked against you, What would you do? I think you would wait until after the correction and repentance before you would show them forgiveness. Our Heavenly Father is as natural as you are, only He is supernatural, and His feelings are hurt.

Jeremiah 5:10 "Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD's."

God is saying that the enemy can do whatever He wants to with that church, because it is not His. God does not claim it. How is it that they can just go over the walls, sneak in and just take over? Satan works in many ways; He has control over the liberal media, the political minds of our government, and through those minds he can twist socialism into the freedoms that we have today.

That seduction by Satan comes by anti-this and that demonstrations, where people are trying to subvert the freedoms that we have, and erode away the standards of God that have guided our nations from the beginning. It is time to wake up, and go to the walls to investigate and see what is happening in the name of God, or peace or whatever deceiving words they happen to use. It is time to start talking to our Father, and asking Him to do something about it, and He will. You do make a difference when you make a stand.

To understand why our Heavenly Father is not pleased with His children, remember, Satan, as the spurious messiah, or Antichrist comes in peacefully, and with prosperity, and most Christians today don't even know the difference. However, Revelation 9:4 tells us that God instructs Satan that he cannot touch those that have the seal of God in their minds. "And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads."

Christian, if you have God's Word hidden in your mind there is no way that Satan, or any of his angels can deceive you.

Jeremiah 5:11 "For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD."

For those that are Biblically illiterate, notice that there are two houses here, the "House of Israel" and the "House of Judah", and they are not the same. There is a difference, and it is extremely important that you know the difference between them.

Jeremiah 5:12 "They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:"

This is exactly how the false-christ will come to earth, peacefully. Those Christians that prefer to remain ignorant in God's Word, will never know what happen to them until it's too late. Satan comes in and wins them over by deception. Read those seven events in Matthew 24, or Mark 13 which are the seven seals, and also the seven trumpets, and not the very first utterance that Christ warns us of, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Satan will come in bring peace and prosperity, giving to each man what ever is important to win them over to himself. For many Christians they have no price, they'll just give themselves over to him. They were taught to do so by their church traditions.

Daniel 8:23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up."

Why were we told by Jesus and Paul to put on our "gospel armor"? (See Ephesians 6:10-20) We were told that "we do not war against the power of the arm, but against the power of Dark sentences". Our fight is against the "king of fierce countenances". That king is Satan, the false-christ. Very shortly the time will come when you will see and face him.

Daniel 8:24 "And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy People."

This king is Satan, and he will "destroy", which means "deceive" many. The deception will come in "wonderfully", which is also deceiving. Strong's Hebrew Dictionary #6381 says "by miracles, and (hard to believe) works". Satan will come with a big bag of tricks. 

The whole book of Daniel is an overlay of the book of Revelation.

Though Satan's power will be might, he gets his power through the craftiness of the one world governmental system. This is nothing new, for even grade school kids are taught to respect this filthy system, and all of it's attributes of ungodliness. Though the political system is formed first, It will become a religious system when Satan comes to rule over the religious beast, that religious system will portray him as the true Messiah.

Daniel 8:25 "And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand."

The policy of an organization or government sets the limits of operation of the body. Nothing is allowed to occur outside the policy that has been set. Satan's policy is to promise you whatever your price is to worship him. To most Christians today their price is so low and cheap, it simply doesn't exist. Why? The Kenites and their religious leaders will lead them right into Satan's camp. It may be with a governmental wage, a pension, or some medical plan. Have you thought over what your price of selling your soul is worth.

When Satan commits these abominable acts, it will be the "Prince of princes" who will destroy Satan, not man. The seventh trumpet will sound and Jesus Christ will return to earth to end Satan, the spurious messiah's reign, and bring this earth age of the flesh to a close. Revelation 19:19-20 describes for us how Satan and his army and all who bowed to worship the image (Satan) are destroyed.

We are told what this "famine" of the end times is in Amos 8:11; "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:" The famine is for the lack of teaching and hearing the Word of God accurately, line upon line, precept upon precept, so that Christians can understand the warnings that Christ taught. Without that seal of God in their forehead, or mind they will be deceived.

Jeremiah 5:13 "And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them."

The "prophets", or so called teachers will become "wind" (bags). The words that they teach are lies. They preach and preach but they say nothing of value to souls. That is exactly what it calls them in the Hebrew, a bunch of wind-bags. They either preach from a position of fear, or lead others into a false covenant. They say, "You don't have to worry about knowing God's Word, you will be taken away...." Lies all of it. My fellow Chrisian, you are going to be here on earth facing the spurious messiah, and you will either be sealed or you will not be sealed. That is your choice. Wake up and seal your mind with those warnings of the events and signs of our generation. Don't lose your soul because of your own foolishness. Stop listening to windbags in the pulpit, those that do not teach the Word of God.

Jeremiah 5:14 "Wherefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them."

Remember when the House of Judah went into captivity in the land of Bablyon, the Word that was written in that time of captivity, was the Chaldee. In fact, from Daniel 2:2 through Daniel 7, Daniel was written in the language of the Chaldeans. We are approaching the time also in this final generation, when the tongue that the world speaks will also be that which is acceptable to the Kenites, Satan's kids that are in control, and preparing the world for their father, Satan.

This is why it becomes important to learn to take the Word of God back to the original language, the Hebrew and Greek, to find out what God's Word says and not rely on those wind bags in their pulpits, that are preparing the world for the instead-of-Christ. Those of us who become lazy in our studies will be devoured by them and their words.

Jeremiah 5:15 "Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say."

Christian, the nation that is coming upon us today, is the nation of the king of Babylon, of which this was a type. Through the Kenites, and their systems and political correctness they will force God's people to fall right in line. Those that do not know the truth, and or the habit of studying and seeking for themselves, will be led like sheep to the false-christ and they will think he is Christ.

Jeremiah 5:16 "Their quiver is as an open sepulchre, they are all mighty men."

Their "quiver" is the storehouse of death, spiritually. That quiver is not only the storehouse of death, but is fires the spiritual darts of deception and lies that will cause many to be deceived. The death that is received is a spritual death. The battle that is coming is just the opposite to what most people expect to happen in the very end. They preach a tribulation of gloom and doom, and fire and brimstone, when the battle that Satan will bring is not with guns and tanks, but with words, and prosperity. He will supply you with whatever it takes, in order to bring you to worship him.

Remember that Satan will come in peacefully, with prosperity, and many miracles; "he shall destroy (spiritually) wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and destroy the mighty and the holy People. " [Daniel 8:23]  Do you listen and love it when those windbags tell you that you are going to fly away, and leave some mystical time of destruction behind? If you do, your skating on thin ice, especially in this generation.

That quiver, with it's arrows are Satan's firey darts that are aimed at all Christians that will give him audience. This is why it is important that you read and pay attention to Ephesians 6:10-20. By having that gospel armor on and in place will shield your mind from those lies of Satan.

Jeremiah 5:17 "And they shall eat up thine harvest, and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst, with the sword."

"They shall eat up" is given three times. It is important to notice who they are, and what is going to happen to those that are not prepared. They are going to rip you off, and take what you have, and you will allow it. They are going to eat the breads that should go to your sons and daughters, They will take the meats and the fruit that is grown to feed our people, and distribute it to their own gain, around the world. They will take the wealth for our cities, and that which you have set aside for your retirement, and leave you impoverished. How will they do this? They will do this with their spiritual sword, with their words of lies and deceit they will convience you that it is good and right to feed the ungodly and clothe the enemy - and in America today, that is exactly what is happening.

How does this enemy enter into your house to attack your mind, and leave you open to their lies? They do it through your television, your radio and newsprint. They do it through your children in the educational system, and by taxation, and price fixing. They do it in their corporate board rooms, when they buy and sell our life blood businesses, and ship it off to foreign lands, and use slave trade, then ship the junk back as something of quality. Satan loves to use any means of communication to prepare your mind for his coming, even the pulpit in your church.

Are you asking just who "they" are? They are the Kenites, and the systems and forms that they control. They are the hidden ones that plan their deceit and lies in secret, and by deception and use of their communication lines, prepare you to receive their father, Satan. Jesus told us that understanding who the Kenites were, was the key to understand the parables, and the entire Word of God.

God is telling us that if we do not know who they are, we are going to be servants to them, through usuary, and other means. The law of God keeps you free of usuary, yet in ignorance many of God's people charge out and become slaves to their usuary.

Jeremiah 5:18 "Nevertheless in those days, saith the LORD, I will not make a full end with you."

There is going to be a remnant, a small number of people that see the truth, and know the truth from God's Word. They will understand God's instruction, and follow that truth. Our Heavenly Father will never let His elect to be touched, and destroyed by these Kenites.They will never be deceived. They know the signs of the times, and they know what is written will come to pass. Therefore they plan to be ahead of the Kenite game.

Jeremiah 5:19 "And it shall come to pass, when ye shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours."'

This is God's children crying out, and asking why God would allow all these things to happen to them. When they follow the wind bags, and the one verse preachers, and the hard times hit them, they will weep, "Why does God allow all this to happen to me?" When Aids, and the gang wars, the foreclosures, and the jobs heading over seas, and all the troubles; this is what God is going to answer them.

God is going to remind them that it is their own fault, for they have forsaken God, and ran off to strange gods, and religions and traditions, and allowed them to enter into their land, and into their homes. They left God for idols, and now they convict themselves out of their own mouth. This is the way that God works. When you pronounce a sentence unfairly on someone, it is going to come back on your own head. Especially if it's one of God's elect.

God is saying that because you turned your back on me, I am turning my back on you. You served their gods, now you are going to serve the people that created those strange gods. Of course He was talking about the Babylonian captivity, which was a type of the Babylonian captivity of the time of the end (in our generation). Any time you are in the territory of those that are part of that Bablyon system, you are in a strangers land.

Jeremiah 5:20 "Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,"

This is what God wanted Jeremiah to tell them.

Jeremiah 5:21 "Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:"

Now you listen to me, all you that have eyes, and the ability to read; I have sent you the Word, and I have told you exactly how it would be in the end times, and you are too foolish to read it. Many of you have your eyes seared over, and you couldn't understand it if you did read it.

Jeremiah 5:22 "Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?"

God is asking them, Don't you fear me as God the Father? God is saying that He created the very earth that you stand on, and has placed the sand on the seashore, and can control the waves that beat on those shores. He placed that shore line to protect you from that angry sea. The implication that is left here, is that God could remove it. Remember the great shaking that we talked about in Jeremiah four?

Why won't you fear, or revere one that can create whatever He desires? God is letting you know that you are at His mercy, and that it is He that will judge you. He will allow you to mess yourself up, if you continue to turn your back on Him, and reject His ways. If you are wondering why all these things are happening to you, God didn't do it to you, you brought it on yourself.

Jeremiah 5:23 "But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone."

In the Hebrew, this is implying that they not only went into apostasy and worshiped other things and gods, but now they are actually working against Him. That is not a good place to be, that is what revolting is, going over to the other camp.

Why would God want to help anyone that chases off to listen and follow those false pastors and teachers, and place their hope in the lies and deceptions of the traditions of men. Then have expectations of God to bless them. Remember the title of this chapter is to "investigate". When things are not going well, stop and investigate why. God provides for those that do it God's way, so if things aren't going well, ask yourself why?

Jeremiah 5:24 "Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest."

There is a lot said in here, and let's look at it closer. Those that refuse to study God's Word, never stop and consider God's natural harvest, which involves the planting of the wheat and the tares. They don't understand the harvest of the wheat itself, not the former and latter rain. Their eyes and ears are sealed to it, and they just don't understand the seasons that surround this.

What is this "weeks of the harvest"? This is the "feasts of the harvest", and it takes place in the seven weeks that begin on the second day of Passover. It then runs for a seven week period. Who is now our passover? Our passover now is Jesus the Christ, and we read of this in I Corinthians 5:7, 8; " Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth."

Seven times seven is forty nine, plus the one day for the second that started; That feast of the harvest then, falls on the day of Pentecost. It was on the feast of Pentecost that the disciples and followers begin to see that which was spoken of by Joel the prophet in Joel 2:28-32. That is knowing what would come in the final years, that both sons and daughters would see the entire plan of God, and with that evidence, they would allow that Spirit that was within them to speak that language that would need no interpretor. When it was spoken there was no confusion, but it was understood in every language in the world, even in the accent and dialect in which they were born, of the person hearing the prophecy. Acts 2:8; "And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born."

This is the evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit. This tongue cannot be copied by anyone. This tongue is to take you right up to that very age of Christ's return, a time when the false-christ will be here on earth, and the elect of God will be delivered up to give account of what they believe.

That time is written of in Mark 13:11; "But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Spirit [Spirit of God]."

My fellow Christian, no one has ever spoken that tongue since it was spoken almost two thousand years ago on Pentecost day. Check it out in God's Word, and don't be swayed by the traditions and doctrines of men.  Do you believe God's Word, or do you believe your Church systems?

Jeremiah 5:25 "Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you."

Your "iniquities" are your sins, and it is your sins that are keeping the good things from you. Whenever you get involved in the babel and confusion that takes place in many of these churches, they take you away from God's blessings. When you think you can impersonate the Holy Spirit of God, and carry on as if God has placed something within you, when it is of your own device, God will withhold His blessings from you. He doesn't like the church games that many so-called Christians play.

When you  or your church form your own games, and systems of religion, that goes against God's Word, and then, worse yet, you say it came from the mouth of the Creator, My fellow Christian, you had better fear Him. This is not a time to carelessly say God said something, when it is not of God but your own devices. God's Word is calling you a liar. 

God will start His judgments at the pulpits, and He is not pleased with wind-bags. You had better start paying attention to God's Word, rather then listening to traditions.

Jeremiah 5:26 "For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men."

The trap setter sets the trap, but the Kenites are the ones that make their plans to steal the birds out of the nets. Though men set their evil ways to deceive and take your wealth, it is the Kenites that will even steal from those net setters to take their gains.

Jeremiah 5:27 "As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich."

Though you can apply this to the physical, it is aimed at the spiritual. In other words, false teaching and misleading God's children, is like setting a trap to catch their soul. To lie to them, for example, by telling them that their jibberish is the only way to tell the presence of the Holy Spirit, is part of the houses full of deceit. It is ignorance, we are to stop playing games with God's Word, and learn the truth. Get released from the cage of man's traditions, and be set free from their bondage in Christ. The truth sets you free.

Jeremiah 5:28 "They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge."

God is saying that the preacher that preaches lies, his sins are worse then the very wicked themselves. The preachers are taking the reverence that should go to God, and when they allow themselves to step into the revering position that belongs to God, they become rich with the respect that should go to God. Their best shot at righteousness compared to God's righteousness is nothing but filthy rags.

We reverence only one, and that is the Almighty God. We all have a lot to learn from His Word. The only way that we can break away those bonds and release ourselves from those cages of the traditions of men, is by getting into His Word.

Jeremiah 5:29 "Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?"

God is asking you, Do you think I am missing all this that is going on? No way. God will avenge those in that nation that call themselves Christian, then go out to their church house and listen to wind bags, and practice those things.

Jeremiah 5:30 "A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;"

How can something be wonderful and horrible all at the same time? Can't you see there is something wrong with this statement? The word for "Wonderful" is astonishment. God is saying that a thing of astonishment and horrible is committed in the land. That land is the land that those people that care about God live in. That land is where the people call themselves Christians.

Jeremiah 5:31 "The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?"

This is the astonishing thing. The preachers and teachers are teaching false doctrines and traditions, and the priests, those leaders in the churches are lording over everybody. "Just call me the right reverend.." and so on. They demand that you pay them special respect, because of their title. Then what makes God so angry is that His People, (the ones that call themselves Christian) fall right in line and eat it all up.

God is saying that there is an end coming, and He will do the judging of the very soul and mind of those that played the game, the "right reverends, and sharpy preachers" that did their strutting and false teaching, as well as those people that called themselves Christians, and followed right after those false prophecies that were given. God is letting you know that you will be accountable for your own condition of ignorance that you have allowed yourself to fall into.

If you think for a moment that it is you or any other man that is saving anyone then you are confused. It is only Christ that can save, and if you are misleading any of God's children, may God have mercy on your soul, because God only knows that you will need it. If you have been presenting God's Word as something that it isn't, then your soul is in trouble. It is time that teachers and pastors wake up, and mature in the Word of God, and let God be God, and they take their role as the servant of God. We are all sinners, and have fallen short, and we all need God's forgiveness through the blood of Christ. Only Christ deserves our reverence and respect.
