Caution to students of God's Word - Please remember two things when using our studies: #1. Our commentary is not God's Word. It is only our interpretation or understanding of "His Word" and even though we try our best to be accurate we may or may not be correct. #2. The King James translation, or any other translation, of the original Hebrew text has some words which were given different translations at different places probably because of the interpreters preconceived ideas of what they think God meant to say. For example: According to the notes in the "Dake's Annotated Reference Bible" the Hebrew word hayah in the KJV is Trans. (became) 67 times, (becamest or came to pass) 505 times, (become) 66 times, and (come to pass) 131 times, but for some reason in Genesis 1:2 it is translated (was)! That sure changes the way a person perceives the original creation of the earth, doesn't it? Gen. 1:2 And the earth was (became) without form, ... Having said that, let us continue with our "Key Knowledge" lessons. These are pamphlets containing knowledge, we believe, you must have to fully and accurately unlock and understand the Word of God.

Without the leading by the Holy Spirit, there is no understanding of the truths, for all the truth of the Scriptures are revealed to us by God's Spirit.

Egypt was promised by God that they would always be a base nation, a small nation and never a superpower, but that they would always exist as a nation. Therefore today they are the oldest continuous government that is in existance.

Isaiah 19:1 "The burden of Egypt. "Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at His presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it."

This is saying that the Lord would come quickly. The Hebrew word in the text for "swift" also means small. Anytime you hear of God coming in a cloud, it is for one reason, it is for judgment. Judgment means not only punishment, but also rewards. When God comes on a cloud, to the servants of God it becomes the time for their rewards to be received. For those that are not of the Lord, it becomes a time for correction.

Isaiah 19:2 "And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom."

We see lately, and even today the various sons of Ishmael, Abraham's son by Hagar, that there is much conflict between them. These sons were divided into twelve dynasties, and today they represent twelve different nations of peoples. These dynasties just don't get along with each other. That is what the war with Iraq was all about, as well as the war between Iran, and the other Arab nations. In each conflict Egypt has sided with one side or the other, and today Egypt has separated herself from the many Arab nations because of separate peace agreements with Israel, placing itself at odds with the rest of her brothers, neighbors, cities, and kingdoms of their brotherhood kindred.

In the late seventies, king Sadat came to the United States to meet with President Carter and prime minister Begin to talk peace. This peace agreement has caused Egypt many problems with their brother nations, as well as the life of king Sadat.

President of Egypt (1970-1981), he shared the 1978 Nobel Peace Prize with Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin for negotiations that led to a historic peace treaty in 1979. Sadat was assassinated by Islamic fundamentalists.

Isaiah 19:3 "And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards."

"The spirit of Egypt" is in reference to the ability of the leadership of Egypt to be rational in their minds, and the ability to act with sound judgment. In the Hebrew text "spirit" in this passage is # 7307; "ruwach, by resemblance spirit, a rational being, (includ. its expression and function), anger, courage, mind" God is telling us here that Egypt is going to chase after all sorts of idols [idols: 457 'eliyl- of nought, good for nothing, worthless a) used of physicians, a shepherd, a divination b) used of false gods] religious ideas and forms of idolatry, consulting these different forms of evil spirits, rather then seeking after God's guidance, and the wisdom of just and righteous men.

We know what the results of the peace agreement were, king Sadat returned home to be murdered by his own sons, his own brothers; and Egypt has been in conflict since that time. She lost hundreds of thousands of men in the war between Iraq and Iran over ten years siding with Iraq, and then sided with her brothers of Kuwait against her allies of the war with Iran.

Isaiah 19:4 "And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them," saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts."

We know who the real false king, the fake king that shall come shortly, for it is Satan the Antichrist coming to earth to rule over his world wide religious system. This shall come to pass within the generation we now live in. Egypt will still be a base nation, only it will have a foreign king, the false messiah.

All religions in the entire world, with the exception of God's elect will worship that false messiah. Those Christians that are void of God's Word and without the seal of God in their mind will also worship the false christ in ignorance.

Isaiah 19:5 "And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up."

Egypt is still the subject here, and the river spoken of here is the Nile river.

Isaiah 19:6 "And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defence shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither."

In an agreement with the Russians, the Nile river's course was changed, and the Aswan dam was constructed. What ultimately happened as the results of the building of this dam is that the yearly floods that this river caused ceased, and the flooding was eliminated. The land ceased to have the fertile valleys that were rejuvenated annually by the flooding as they were dried up. The rich top soil and minerals that were placed by the flooding is now gone, and along with it many of the crops that made Egypt so prosperous.

This was prophesied in Isaiah's day to the end times, and we are living in the times to witness these prophecies. This has caused many Egyptian farmers to move from their farmlands, and rural areas into the cities, and has cause the complete breakdown of many city systems, such as their sewer system and so on. This in itself is against the plan of God, "to join house upon house". This is another sign of the end times, and it is on the news today. You are witnessing another sign post that the prophets have written and foretold to our generation, and it is a sign that the coming of the false messiah is not far away. It is time to wake up and get into His Word to prepare for the spiritual battle that is on our doorstep.

Isaiah 19:7 "The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more."

This is exactly what was spoken of in the prior verse. Those rich fertile floods that brought the bonus crops, and wealth to Egypt are gone. What seemed to be a curse at the time, was actually a blessing by God to the Egyptians. The minds that gave counsel to Egypt, which seemed to be wise, were in fact foolish and "given over to the hand a cruel lord". The richness of Egypt is a thing of the past, and the floods that brought the rich soil are gone.

Isaiah 19:8 "The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets upon the waters shall languish."

The dam blocked the fish from the Mediterranean Sea from reaching the upper regions of the Nile in the numbers that provided their fishing industry. The dam damaged not only the agriculture industry, but also the fishing, which is also a sign of the end times.

Isaiah 19:9 "Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded. And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish."

This has put a great dent in the fine flax, or cotton industry that was the back bone of Egypt's wealth for centuries. It has "confounded", or ended jobs of millions of people in Egypt, and turned them into welfare cases [sluices: 7938 seker (seh'-ker);from 7936; wages: KJV-- reward, sluices.]. It has turned productive people in Egypt into nothing more then the poor in the over crowded cities, and this has broken the pride of what was a once proud people. God's word has come to pass just as it is written.

When they killed Sadat and turned to the wicked minds of the Russians, what they thought of as a blessing, the dam, turned out to be a curse on their nation. They have problems, and they still can't figure out where they went wrong.

Isaiah 19:10 "And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish."

"The purposes thereof", are their foundations; and the word for "fish" in the Hebrew means "living things". This even includes "souls", for they make their sluices or wages to catch men void by killing their livelyhood. They sought wise men to create work and wealth, only they went to the wrong wise men, and now they have nothing but trouble.

It is a sad thing that we have terrorism in the world today, but when you seek wisdom from the wise, and there is no wise men, then in its place comes terrorism and confusion. Destitute men do strange and wicked things. Watch the news today and see where the origin of many of the conflicts and wicked acts comes from, and today they reach even to our own land..

Isaiah 19:11 "Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellers of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say ye unto Pharaoh, `I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?' "

"Zoan" is the "place of departure", of departure from what? You can figure it out. The wise counsellers of Egypt have "become brutish", which means "stupid". These fools are taking counsel from those that call themselves wise, only the wisdom that is given is only foolishness.

Stop and think for a moment, when the dam was planned, was there any consideration as to what would happen to the different peoples and their well being, or was their only the concern for the output of power within the industrial world. What seemed to be a curse on their nation before, was actually their wealth and prosperity, so now, they have the hydro power, and what made them great for centuries is gone. Even from the days that Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt, Egypt has been feeding the world. They gave it all up for the construction of power to turn the lights on, and stop the flooding. In their foolishness they lost sight of where their blessings came from.

The time is coming very shortly when these foolish men will seek counsel only they will be led to familiar spirits, and the wizards that come from Satan and his kids, the Kenites. They will become part of Satan's one world religious system.

Isaiah 19:12 "Where are they? where are thy wise men? and let them tell thee now, and let them know what the Lord of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt."

This is now asking the question, after the fact. Where are the wise men? Confront them now as to their foolish advice, let them know after the fact that the Lord has written of these things that have come upon Egypt in His Word. If you think God is hard on Egypt, don't worry about it. God has used the Egyptians to protect the children of Israel for thousands of years, and it goes all the way back to the times of Joseph. Though the Israelites were made slaves, God protected them there and allowed them time to grow into a nation that would become His inheritance. When they were finally released the Israelites were far richer then when they first went down into Egypt..

Then when king Herod tried to take the life of baby Jesus, Egypt became the land of protection until Herod died; then Joseph and Mary and the Christ child came back to the land they fled from. God told Joseph in a dream to take Jesus and Mary to Egypt.

Matthew 2:12 "And being warned of God in a dream that they [the wise men] should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way."

Matthew 2:13 "And when they were departed, behold the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, and take the young Christ and His mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy."

Matthew 2:14 "When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night, and departed into Egypt:"

God has used Egypt as a protector for many thousands of years for His people, and now God is telling us how it shall all end. God is not going to destroy Egypt, but He is going to bring hardship on them like He did on us in verses five and six of the prior chapter.

Isaiah 19:13 "The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof."

The "princes of Zoan" are the leaders that cause the departure from the true God. Noph is a place in Egypt very near the location of the great pyramids, where the ancient heathen Egyptian religions were founded. The great pyramid can not be reproduced today, with all its dimensions relating to history and the universe. It's stone blocks are perfect cuts, and cement that holds the tons of weight of the stone that makes its shape.

There is no cap stone to the great pyramid, for the chief corner stone is missing, but that corner stone who is Jesus Christ is coming back. So we see in the very back yard of Egypt, is the Bible written in stone. In the perfect measurements of the chambers and halls leading to the chambers are the record of the history of the Israelites, and our Lord Jesus Christ. This is not to worshipped as a religion, but it is a sign post to us in the latter days that God's Word is true, and He has left a record in stone of "the stay of the tribes" of Israelites.

God is saying that you have the real truth in your backyard, a stone monument, and still you desire to be deceived.

Isaiah 19:14 "The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit."

God is saying that even with all the markings that He has left on their door step, the Egyptians don't know any more of what they are doing then an old drunken man staggering and wallowing in his own vomit. They have no more idea of God's plan for them, where they are, and what is going to happen to them, then that drunk throwing up in the gutter. Though this is a figure of speech, stop and look at the damage that the Egyptians have allowed others to do to them, and what they have done to themselves. Though they have the proof before their eyes, they are blind to it.

This place of Noth, where the pyramids are located is the dividing line between the upper and lower Egypt, and in ancient days there were two different kings and peoples in these lands. It was called the upper [south], and lower [north] Egypt, and it was in the lower Egypt, in the land of Goshen that the Israelites lived, and Joseph ruled. The upper and lower lands were in respect to the flow of the Nile river.

Isaiah 19:15 "Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do."

This is saying that when all the damage is completed there will be no more work for the people regardless of their status, from the top to the bottom their livelihood will be gone. We can see this today as Egyptians are migrating not only to America but around the world to find work. They have become the oil field workers in the Iraq and Arabia; the construction workers of Western Europe, Mine workers of South Africa, and so on. they are also the instigators of much of the terrorist acts done around the world with their idle hands.

Isaiah 19:16 "In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which He hath determined against it."

God has His hand stretched out over the entire world today, and many nations are getting shook real good. Not only in Egypt, but in America and Canada alike, the good jobs are vanishing by the millions, and in its place are low paying servant jobs. God is in control, and is causing the world to make ready for the false messiah that will set foot on earth in our generation.

However the shaking is upon only those that choose to be stupid, and desire not to study His Word and prepare for the spiritual warfare that is coming. God's hand is outstreatched and ready to help those that ask for it, and seek Him. God's hand will correct you and pick you up, and He knows which is needed.

Isaiah 19:17 "And the land of Judah shall be a terror unto Egypt, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts, which He hath determined against it."

This verse is a type of what is going to happen when the Antichrist comes. We know that his coming will be in the same place and manner that Jesus Christ's return will be. It will be in Jerusalem, and in the land of Judah, and from there Satan, who is the Antichrist will rule the entire world. We know that Satan will conquer Egypt, for all nations and borders will blend into a one world religious system, and all will worship him as the messiah in ignorance. All that is except God elect that have the seal of God in their minds.

However at this time there is much misunderstanding about that tiny nation of Israel, and the baskets of good and bad figs that returned to set up their kingdom today. The bad basket of figs[of Jeremiah 24] are the Kenites that have taken over and are mixed in with the good figs, or brother Judah. It is from them comes the confusion and conflict that exists today.

Isaiah 19:18 "In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and sware to the Lord of hosts; one shall be called, the city of destruction."

This is saying that five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the Hebrew tongue. What this verse is saying, is not accurate from the original text. The word "destruction" was mistranslated into the septuagint Greek form from the Hebrew. The word "ha-zedek" or "righteousness" was changed to "cheres" into the Greek tongue, which is "the sun". By the translators dropping the "c" from the "ch", changed the word from "sun" to "destruction"; Hence the present reading of the current Hebrew text.

So what this verse is saying in the prophecy is that five cities of Egypt will be speaking the Hebrew tongue, and one of those five will be know as the city of rightousness. When Egypt calls out to the true God, which they will in the end, the cities will be righteous, because they will have turned from their "stupid" counsel back to the living God.

Historically speaking, in the sixth century after Christ, new religious thought came into being amongst the children of Ishmael, the Arab peoples. Islam came from Judism and Christainity, and at one time these people once spoke the Hebrew tongue.

Isaiah 19:19 "In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord."

Do you understand what the great pyramid is? It sits right on the dividing line between the upper and lower Egypt, yet it is in the middle of the whole land. It is a pillar to the Lord, and within its dimensions we have a mystery to all of mankind. Some say it is the work of the great Pharaoh Khufu [Cheops in the Greek], but the tools of the time and the time allowed would not permit such a structure to be made. However mankind likes to have everything equate in his mind, so much of what is given as fact today, others have proven their findings false. One thing that we do know about the Pyramid at Giza, it was constructed as an altar to the Lord, and even man today can not reconstruct such a magnificent pillar.

It is said that if you take this verse as given in the Hebrew text, and take the numeric value of each letter and add them together, you have the height of the Pyramid at Giza, and this height could not be established until recent times. What this verse is saying, is that if you understand the dimensions and structural meanings of the pyramid, you have the Bible in stone. It is not to be made a religion of, but it is a reminder of one of the wonders that God has placed on earth to point to Him. However we see here that one Kenite scribe has changed God's righteousness to destruction by dropping one letter in the Greek text.

The Massorah has locked this into place whereby no man can mess with this, and change it's meaning. This is just another place where we see the value of the Companion Bible, to bring back the truth from where the Kenites have tried to confuse.

Isaiah 19:20 "And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and He shall send them a Savior, and a great One, and He shall deliver them."

This is a record of the True King, the Messiah that shall come to end the reign of the false one that shall come first. This True King is Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God. His name is Emmanuel, the Lord God Almighty with us. Jesus Christ will not only be sent to Egypt, but to the entire world. But as we go into these seven nations, and the burden that is set upon them, we see end time prophecy that is completely accurate and detailed.

Isaiah 19:21 "And the Lord shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the Lord, and perform it."

Do you think this has come to pass yet? Not yet, however it will happen on the day of the Lord, at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. This will happen on the sounding of the seventh trumpet, when all flesh is done away with and we are changed from the flesh into our incorruptable bodies, as recorded in I Corinthians 15:50-54.

Isaiah 19:22 "And the Lord shall smite Egypt: He shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the Lord, and He shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them."

Egypt is of Ishmael the son of Abraham by Hagar, and God gave blessing to Ishamael. This day that is spoken of here is the first day of the Millennium age, when all forms of idolatry and evil shall be smitten, only what is healed or changed shall remain.

Isaiah 19:23 "In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians."

There will be a three way alliance between Egypt, Assyria and Israel all in the service of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the king of the earth in this Millennium kingdom age. Though this alliance is for the Millennium age, there was another alliance made in our land, of the house of Israel, where peace was started that will bring in the times of the end.

Isaiah 19:24 "In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:"

Wherever the house of Israel is, there is where the blessings of the Lord shall be. What is in Jerusalem, and the tiny nation of Israel today, is the house of Judah. These two houses shall not be combined until the coming of the Lord, and the start of the Millennium age, and only then. We learned this from the lesson of the sticks that God gave to Ezekiel in Ezekiel 37. For the wise, keep camp David accords in mind, and the agreement that came out of them.

Isaiah 19:25 "Whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, `Blessed be Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel Mine inheritance.' "

God has preserved both the Egyptians and the Assyrians for a special work that He has for them. Though at times they may seem wicked, they are performing the work that God has intended for them. Israel is for God's inheritance, in this we are speaking of the house of Israel, and in the Millennium to be joined by the house of Judah to serve the Lord God. Israel, the Christian nations are the gift that God gave to the world, that keeps the nations of the world accountable, and serves as the base for the knowledge and truth of His works. It is through Israel, the Christian nations of the world that the starving masses can hear the Word of God in detail, that will turn their hearts to the true Father.
