Genesis Chapter 25
Caution to students of God;s Word - Please remember two things when using our American Wisdom Series studies:
#1. Our commentary is not God's Word. It is only our interpretation or understanding of "His Word" and even though we try our best to be accurate we may or may not be correct. #2. The King James translation, or any other translation, of the original Hebrew text has some words which were given different translations at different places probably because of the interpreters preconceived ideas of what they think God meant to say. For example: According to the notes in the "Dake's Annotated Reference Bible" the Hebrew word hayah in the KJV is Trans. (became) 67 times, (becamest or came to pass) 505 times, (become) 66 times, and (come to pass) 131 times, but for some reason in Genesis 1:2 it is translated (was)! That sure changes the way a person perceives the original creation of the earth, doesn't it?  Gen. 1:2 And the earth was (became) without form, ... Having said that, let us continue with our "studies". These studies contain knowledge, we believe, you must have to fully and accurately unlock and understand the Word of God.
May the Holy Spirit be your only guiding light. Sincerely, John Rhine

Revelation 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 16:13-14
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Genesis Chapter 25

"The Posterity of Keturah."

Genesis 25:1 "Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah."

So we can see that Abraham needed a wife also, besides Isaac. Abraham was one hundred and forty years old when he married Keturah.

Genesis 25:2 "And she bare him Simran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah."

It is of great importance that those who desire a deeper understand of God's Word pay attention to the genealogies of the Bible. For it is in them where we see that the Lineage of Jesus Christ was of pure pedigree and not polluted. Satan tried it himself in the garden with Eve, he tried it by sending his fallen angels in onto Adam;s and Eve's daughters during Noah's day. and he will try it with his fallen angels and the Canaanites, but Abraham put a stop to it.

Medan and Midian were half-brothers with Ishmael, and they were mixed together in most of their dealings. We will see in Genesis 37:25 where the Ishmaelites are called Midianites, for they were so mixed that the only way to distinguishing between them was through their nose rings. Though both tribes, or nations were from Abraham, the Ishmaelites were from Abraham by Hagar, the Egyptian.

Many teachers of the Bible teach that Moses married a daughter of a Kenite, however we read in Exodus 3:1; Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb." Notice that Jethro is a title, while Midian is the tribe that Moses' father in law was part of.

Then in Exodus 18:1: "When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses..." This is also a second witness to the fact that Moses' Father-in-law was a Midian priest; and for his real name it is given in Exodus 2:18, and Numbers 10:29. Moses' father in law's name was "Reuel", and the fact that he was a priest of Midian, shows he was from the stock of Abraham. For Midian was the son of Abraham, through his wife "Keturah".

So we see that Moses married a daughter of Abraham, by Katurah, and not some Kenite, who are the offspring of Satan, through Cain. "Reuel" lived in the land of the Kenites, and held the title of Jethro. Just because Abraham lived in the land of the "Canaanites" did not make Abraham a Canaanite.

It is important that we understand whether the name is attached from a geographic location, or from their birthright. Anyone who challenges the bloodline of Jesus Christ is ignorant of the Word of God, and is taking liberties that makes him a heretic, placing themself in a dangerous position before the Lord. Mark him well.

Genesis 25:3 "And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim."

Genesis 25:4 "And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah."

Midian again is the tribe that Moses will marry into. So we see Abraham didn't count it finished at the age of one hundred and forty, and his family grew. These children of Abraham are overlooked by most Bible teachers, and their tribes, or nations are rated among the heathen nations, instead of being considered of Abraham.

Genesis 25:5 "And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac."

Genesis 25:6 "But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country."

Abraham was generous with his gifts, remember the bag of water, and loaf of bread he gave Hagar, when he sent her away with his son, Ishmael. It was important to Abraham that his wealth be kept together, and passed on to Isaac. Abraham knew where all the wealth of his blessings were to flow, and before his death, he made sure all lose legal ends were cleared up, and there were no doubts as to where the birthright was to go. "Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac."

Genesis 25:7 "And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years."

Abraham lived one hundred seventy five years [175 years old]. He was a sojourner, or traveler for one hundred years, as he left his family in Haran when he was seventy five. Abraham had Isaac at the age of one hundred, and married Keturah when he was one hundred and forty years old. So Abraham lived another thirty five years after the marriage to Keturah to sire these sons to her.

Remember, Abraham was seventy five years old when God gave him the unconditional promise. Abraham lived exactly one hundred years after the promise, and in Biblical numerics one hundred symbolizes "the children of the promise".

Genesis 25:8 "Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people."

Abraham's people loved him, and and honored him at his death.

Genesis 25:9 "And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;"

So now we see that both Sarah and Abraham are buried in the cave of Machpelah. We will later see the others that will make up the acrostic to form the name Israel.

Genesis 25:10 "The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife."

Genesis 25:11 "And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi."

Lahai-roi was the "well of the Living God", and this is the place where Isaac sought mental comfort after the death of his mother, Sarah.

Genesis 25:12 "Now these are THE GENERATIONS OF ISHMAEL, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham:"

Ishmael will also have twelve sons.

Genesis 25:13 "And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,"

Genesis 25:14 "And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,"

Genesis 25:15 "Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:"

Genesis 25:16 "These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations."

These sons had already split up, to form their own tribes and nations. These nations today comprise most of the Arab nations of world.

Genesis 25:17 "And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven and was gathered unto his people."

Ishmael's family also loved and respected their father.

Genesis 25:18 "And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren."

In the Hebrew text, the word "died", was naphal and meant "to fall", as in a lot, and indicated that they came for their inheritance. This is the only place in the Scriptures where Naphal is rendered "die".

Genesis 25:19 "And these are THE GENERATIONS OF ISAAC, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac:"

It is important to keep track of names and generations, for God gives blessings and duties to different ones, and even following Jesus Christ's death, these unconditional promises continued on, even though many of these peoples didn't and still don't know who they are.

Genesis 25:20 "And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian."

Did you get the error in this verse, Laban was the son of Bethuel, who was the son of Nahor. Nahor was the Brother of Abraham, and of the Adamic race, and he had no Syrian blood in him. Likewise, Rebekah the wife of Isaac didn't have a drop of Syrian blood either. They lived in that geographic location, but they were not of the race of the Syrians. The Syrian race is a mixed lineage, and thus polluted, in reference to the lineage that the coming Messiah would be born into. If your not careful you will allow yourself to be misled into believing there was a flaw in the lineage of Christ.

Genesis 25:21 "And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived."

Rebekah was barren for forty years, after Isaac married her. So Isaac would be sixty years old here. It seems like being barren runs in the family. She entered the marriage with the vision that she would multiply as numerous as the stars in the sky, and the sands of the sea, and here she is barren. However, just as God had the appointed time for Sarah, He also had the appointed time for Rebekah to conceive.

Genesis 25:22 "And the children struggled together within her; and she said, "If it be so, why am I thus?" And she went to enquire of the Lord."

This was not a normal pregnancy, for these two little rascals literally fought in the womb continually. The ladies can relate to this much more then I can, but it must have been quite difficult for Rebekah. This was not normal, yet she was not complaining but inquiring what this all meant.

Genesis 25:23 "And the Lord said unto her, "Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger."

These twins are two different manner of people, and will grow into the two bodies of population that will ultimately rule the world. They fought in the womb, and they fought as children. Their tribes never could get along as the grew into nations, and even today, the Russian and Christian nations still have opposite polarity to each other.

The younger of the twins would be Jacob, and the elder is Esau, who was also called "Edom", also referred to as Rosh in the Hebrew, from which in English we get "Russia" [Rosh-people]. Jacob's name will be changed by God to "Israel", and through his twelve sons, will grow into a multitude of nations.

Within the womb of Rebekah you have the two super powers of the end generation, that we are now in. The Christian and Jewish nations of peoples on one side, and the children of Esau, or Russian people on the other. This is all part of God's plan, and stated within the promises of the covenant that God gave to Abraham.

God's hatred toward Esau was great, and is stated in both Malachi 1:3, and Romans 9:13; "...Jacob I loved, and Esau I hated". God does not hate the innocent child, however, he does hate that sin that was committed prior to this earth age, in the "age that was". And the hatred toward Esau was from the sin committed in that time prior to his entering the womb. The Russian Christians have suffered a lot by their people, and the Kenites that live and rule amongst them, and God has a deep love for them. So much so that He gave His only Begotten Son so they might have eternal life.

As we enter into the final times of this so called peace of the "New World Order", Russia will turn again against the Christian nations [Jacob], and that is how we close out this current generation, and earth age of the flesh. Russia is like a jackal, and can't be trusted, and those who trust her in any form are fools.

Genesis 25:24 "And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb."

Genesis 25:25 "And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau."

This identification of being red all over, gave him the nick name of "Edom", which means red. Can you identify any nation today which holds red dear? Of course it's Russia. So we will see that throughout the Bible, Esau will also be called Edom, and his children Edomites.

Genesis 25:26 "And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was three score years old when she bare them."

Jacob means "Heel catcher", or "contender" in the Hebrew tongue. He was named after the fact that he was born hanging on to Esau's heel. The fight started in Rebekah's womb, and is going on even today. There is no trust between our nations, and those who rely on truth from Russia, have moved so far left that they have gone beyond the communistic bounds of Russia. This is the most difficult problem we have today in America, for they are undermining our nation, and the Christian people are allowing it. Ezekiel 38 and 39 tells us how it will all end, and that time is coming shortly.

Live Links to- Ezekiel 38 and 39

Genesis 25:27 "And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents."

Genesis 25:28 "And Issac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob."

Isaac got used to eating the venison of Esau's kill, while Rebekah loved her youngest.

Genesis 25:29 "And Jacob sod (boiled) pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:"

Russia still thinks and operates today as their father Easu did 3800 years ago. Esau was willing to sell his whole nation, to quiet his stomach for the moment.

Genesis 25:30 "And Esau said to Jacob, "feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint:" therefore was his name called Edom."

Genesis 25:31 "And Jacob said, "Sell me thy birthright."

The person that is only thinking on fleshly desires, and the here and now, your birthright doesn't mean that much to you. What I can gain today is what was important Esau.

Genesis 25:32 "And Esau said, "Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright."

There was a famine in the land, and the hunting became difficult, and in the Hebrew "at a point to die"; is better translated; "I will sell it".

Genesis 25:33 "And Jacob said, "Swear to me this day;" and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob."

The famine was caused by our Heavenly Father, which limited the game in the area. God knew the mind of Esau, and his disrespect for God's birthright promises that were to passed on from generation to generation. Just as God can cause the flood of Noah's day, so also can He make the game scarce.

Remember that it was God that said, while the two children were still in the womb, that "the older shall serve the younger". Esau didn't care anything about God in the first earth age, and in the flesh age he hadn't changed.

Genesis 25:34 "Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright."

God made a great promise to Isaac, and Esau turned his back to the promises that God made. To better understand this; lets go to Romans 9:7; "Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, "In Isaac shall thy seed be called."

It was Isaac that passed the birthright blessing on to Jacob, even though it was in deception, it was of God, and respected by God.

Romans 9:8 "That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed."

Those who are children of the flesh are not the children of God. The children of the flesh are specifically referred to in Esau, for he allowed his mind to be controlled by his flesh nature, and he could not see past the pottage set before him.

Romans 9:9, 10 "For this is the word of promise, "At this time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son." [verse 9] "And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac;" [verse 10] This zeros us in on God's covenant promises of Abraham that were given to Jacob, from Isaac.

Romans 9:11 "(For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of Him that calleth;"

For these twins, Jacob and Esau, were still in the womb and had not breathed one breath of air yet, and God made His statement according to His election as to what would come to pass. Keep in mind that the election and predestination occurred from the first earth age.

Romans 9:12, 13 "It was said unto her, "the elder shall serve the younger." [verse 12] "As it is written, "Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." [verse 13]

So to understand why God deals with people, even babies, in this earth age; you must be aware of what went on in that first earth age. That first earth age is the time when God pulled all of his created chrildre n off the earth and destroyed al oyherl living forms of life from the face of the earth, and then He started over, as it is recorded in Genesis 1:2 and on through the chapter.

Esau was a man of the world and the world knew Esau well, and Esau placed all value on worldly things, and for that reason God despised Esau.
