I TimothyChapter 2
Caution to students of God's Word - Please remember two things when using our studies: #1. Our commentary is not God's Word. It is only our interpretation or understanding of "His Word" and even though we try our best to be accurate we may or may not be correct. #2. The King James translation, or any other translation, of the original Hebrew text has some words which were given different translations at different places probably because of the interpreters preconceived ideas of what they think God meant to say. For example: According to the notes in the "Dake's Annotated Reference Bible" the Hebrew word hayah in the KJV is Trans. (became) 67 times, (becamest or came to pass) 505 times, (become) 66 times, and (come to pass) 131 times, but for some reason in Genesis 1:2 it is translated (was)! That sure changes the way a person perceives the original creation of the earth, doesn't it? Gen. 1:2 And the earth was (became) without form, ... Having said that, let us continue with our "Key Knowledge" lessons. These are pamphlets containing knowledge, we believe, you must have to fully and accurately unlock and understand the Word of God.
John 15:26
But when the Comforter is
come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which
proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
John
16:13-14
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he
will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever
he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He
shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto
you.

Without the leading by the Holy Spirit, there is no understanding of the truths, for all the truth of the Scriptures are revealed to us by God's Spirit.
Now here is our revised study of:
I Timothy
Chapter 2
"Instruction and Discipline."
This is Paul's letter to Timothy telling us exactly what we are supposed to be getting out of our church services. Paul is laying out exactly what the church is supposed to do, and how the family is to get along with each other. In other words, this is a doctrinal book, and it is the gage as to whether your church is lining up with God's Word. If your church is coming up to this mark, or at least trying, than your doing okay.
Basically, Paul is telling us that the purpose of the church is to put forth the Word of God. As we saw in verse six in that last chapter, sometimes all that is put forth is "vain jangling" or empty words, or babbling, where nothing is taught, but a lot of empty words are spoken. Some man standing behind the pulpit and putting forth a lot of words of his own thought, that just doesn't check out with the Word of God.
God is using Paul and speaking through Paul, and what is being said is more important than what men have to say. The house of God is there for the purpose of hearing of the Word of God. In the prior chapter Paul pointed out that there are some preachers that desire to teach the law, which is to say the Old Testament status under the prophets. While others say that Christ did away with the law, in which their position is that the law no longer exists. Both of these types are wrong, for Christ fulfilled the law of the blood ordinances when His blood was shed on the cross. However, in Christ we have the freedom from the law through our repentance for our sins "in Jesus name". The law still exists to show man where he falls short of God's standards, and when we do, there is repentance for those sins when we confess them to the Father in Jesus name.
The problem exists because many people don't know the difference between the "Law" and Statutes and Ordinances. Blood rituals which are "the blood ordinances" of the Law are completely done away with, when through repentance Christ's blood is applied to those sins.
Paul also told us what to do with trouble makers, and the prior chapter ended with Paul saying, "...I turned them over to the Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme." When Satan gets done with them, and they hit the bottom of life's ladder and they learn the hard way not to blaspheme God. Sometimes, a man won't listen to God until he has reached the gutter, and then with the last dying straw he learns to listen to what God has to say. This is called tough love but sometimes it is needed. Let's get into this doctrinal letter to Timothy.
I Timothy 2:1 "I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercession, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;"
Paul is telling us that first of all, when you come together for your church meeting, prayer is what you start out with. This prayer is for all the people, and not just those present. This means, it is for all men everywhere. Remember, as it was stated in verse fifteen of the prior chapter; "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;..." Jesus didn't shed his blood for the self righteous persons that think that they are too holy for God, but He came to those that knew they have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and come to Him in faith and repentance for their sins.
It doesn't mean that you have to conduct your service in this order, but these are the things that must be done. "Supplications" in the Greek is "deesis" and is a petition for a special object, having regard to our needs and not to God's sufficiency to supply it: It gives prominence to our personal needs. "Prayer" in the Greek manuscripts is "proseuche" and it is restricted to prayer offered to God, having regard to the power of God for it gives prominence to our personal devotion to Him. "Intercession" in the Greek manuscripts is "enteuxis", and it means that we are to approach God in a childlike confidence in Him in our prayers.
The prayer is an very important part of the family or church meeting in our approach to our heavenly Father.
I Timothy 2:2 "For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty."
So when we come before the Lord in our prayer, this is what we pray for. God is telling us to pray for heathen kings beside the kings that love the Lord. He is telling us to pray for governments that lead people, keep the peace and prosperity of a nation. These prayers include all those that are in a position of authority, and the reason for this is so that we can live our lives peaceable in all godliness and honesty.
You must obey the laws of the land in order to have the right to live peaceable in that land. When you pay the taxes of the land, there is no conflict with those agencies that collect the taxes, when you obey the traffic laws the police leave you alone, it is just common sense, when all of the laws are abided with, there can be no conflict. Paul addressed this in Romans 13.
Romans 13:1 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."
Every living soul or person is to be subject to the higher powers, which are the governments of the lands that we are in. There is no power, or government on the face of the earth that is in existence, but that God has allowed it for His purpose. Even in the Russia, Red China, and Arabia the rule that governs the peoples of those lands are serving a purpose in the plan of God, and they exist to fulfill the prophesies of God's plan.
Romans 13:2 "Whosoever therefore resiseth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation."
The "power" is the "government", so when you resist the government of the land you resist the ordinance that God put into that government. An "ordinance" is an institution, or instrument that God is using for His purpose. God uses all sorts of governments to carry out the fulfillment of His Word. When we go against any governmental power and violate the laws that are in the land, we can expect trouble or damnation to come upon us. It could be in the form of a fine, or time in jail, or in some cases your life [such as murder, treason and so forth].
God has stated that the whole world would worship the Antichrist, and the political systems of the world will prepare the way for the religious government to follow. Though we don't understand why our government does what it does, God uses people and leaders to move them to the fulfillment of His plan. God is using the United Nations to bring in the one world system, that will prepare the way for the Satan the Antichrist. God has His appointed times, and the political beast is a very important part in making the world ready for those times.
Romans 13:3 "For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:"
"Rulers" not only are the kings and presidents of the world, but include the policeman on the corner, the tax collector as well as other persons in authority in the government. Those people are not going to come down on you while you are trying to do what is right and in the laws of the land. In the question; "Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power?" is not directed to you abiding in the law, but to those who are doing evil, and it should be.
When you do right according to the laws of the land, the government in power will not only praise you, but also protects you in your good work, and a good citizen. This allows each of us to plant the seeds of God's Word in the minds of those around us, and doing God's work.
Romans 13:4 "For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, l be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."
Paul is telling us that any minister, including the policeman of the government is a minister of God, and thus is accountable to God for what they do while holding that position and exercising their authority from that position. That is why we are to obey them within the law, for they are servants for our protection and the common good of all the people. When a leader in our land steps out of his bounds, we are to follow the right procedures to remove him from office, or through the ballot box. That is what the laws of our land are for.
Then in the seventh verse we read; "Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour."
We pay tribute to where tribute is due and the running of any government costs money, and those that find their safety under their government are responsible for covering that cost. When Jesus was asked by the Pharisee hypocrites if they should pay tribute to Caesar or not, He responded to them in Matthew 22:21; "Then saith He unto them, "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's and unto God the things that are God's."
In other words, we are to operate peacefully within the system of government that is over us, and we are to be wiser than the serpent (s). It is a pleasure to live within our land because we are protected by our constitution which is taken from the Word of God. This is why our nation is blessed of God, and when we are within the law, it is our right to teach and preach the Word of God openly. It is important that we live within the laws of our land so that we continue to protect our rights, or character, and that we can live peaceable.
Daniel was a faithful servant to king Nebuchadnezzar, and he became a vital part of the same one world system that is used in Revelation as the example of the beast system of the final days. Yet, Daniel was faithful in his prayers, and I'm sure for the system he was in and a part of in that day. When the governmental leaders tried to lay a trap for Daniel, God protected him and shut the lion's mouths.
The reason that we are to pray for those in authority is that the peace will exist and the Word of God can go forth to those around you.
I Timothy 2:3 "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;"
We do this to please God our Savior. Here we have two offices of the Godhead in one name, our Father being the Savior through the Son.
I Timothy 2:4 "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
This should draw our attention to II Peter 3:9; "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." All men will not come to repentance, but God is willing if they would. So this forth verse should be translated; "...all men who are willing to be saved, that have come unto the knowledge of the truth." God is ready and he can save any one that will come to Him in faith and repent their sins in the name of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
Then once they are saved, they are not ready for service unless they study His Word and gain the knowledge and instructions as to what they are to be doing. The second part of this verse is "to come unto the knowledge of the truth", and that comes only by studying the Word of God. The "truth" is the Word of God. Any time you go to a house of God, and God's Word is not taught there with understanding you are being robbed. It is from the knowledge of God and His Word that brings blessings and prosperity to you and your family. After you have been saved, then come to the truth, to the knowledge of the Word of God.
Your righteous acts make up the apparel you will be wearing throughout all eternity, and if you are saved and are completely ignorant of His Word, you are going to be there naked as a bird in front of everybody. This is an analogy that is used in Revelation 19:7, 8.
Revelation 19:7 "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready."
The wife is the bride of Christ, those that have repented of their sins and were cleansed with the blood of Christ on the cross.
Revelation 19:8 "And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints."
I Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,"
Can you handle that? there is "one God and one Mediator between God and men,". The Spirit of God, which is the Holy Spirit makes up the third part of the trinity of God. There is one God, one Mediator and one Spirit or Holy Spirit of God. The Mediator is the man, "Christ Jesus". "Christ" being the "Anointed One", and "Jesus" being interpreted "YHVH's Savior" from the Hebrew tongue. Within the sacred name you have the triune offices of our Heavenly Father. So how many are there? There is only one. And there is only one way to the father and that is through the shed blood of our Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 10:30; "I and My Father are one."
I Timothy 2:6 "Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."
The "who" given in this verse, the "Mediator Christ Jesus" became the ransom for our salvation "in due time". "Due time" is the right season for the right person. In the word "ransom" we have the substitute for you. Christ died as the substitute for what rightfully belonged to you and your old sinful self, when you are converted to a new person. Jesus Christ underwent that death for you.
Once you are saved, you will fall short from time to time, and each time you sin it is time to repent and confess that sin to the Father in Jesus name, and He washes your soul and makes you clean again. Don't kid yourself that you will never sin again for as long as you are in your flesh body, that has that sinful nature, you will fall short of God's law. Each time you do, Jesus has promised that he would mediate for you when you repent in His name. The important thing is that we try, and when we do, He counts it perfect even though there is very little perfection in us.
But remember that this time is in that "due time", and that is why when you plant a seed of the truths of God's Word, it is God that decides when that time shall be. We plant the seed and water it, but it is the Holy Spirit that brings it to germination at the right time. It is not up to you when that seed germinates and someone is saved, but it is up to God when the right time for understanding shall be, and then that person himself makes up his own mind whether to chose God or reject Him in favor of Satan.
God knows that person's mind as He is thinking the thoughts, and you don't, that is why it is the Holy Spirit's duty to make your seed known at the right time. Many times it is years later before the seed comes to germination in the mind of the one you witnessed to. To each person there is a time and place and only God knows the right time for each soul. When you plant a seed and it doesn't grow, then you are wasting your time to play games with the Word of God, when it is flat rejected. If you keep on trying to pump someone when they have turned you down, you are saying that you are a better teacher than God is.
I Timothy 2:7 "Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity."
"Ordained" means "appointed to do something". "A preacher" is someone that teaches God's Word, and not something he has thought of on his own. Paul was foreordained by God Himself because Paul was a chosen vessel from before the foundations of this earth age, as we read in Acts 9:15, 16.
Acts 9:15, 16 "But the Lord said unto him, "Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto Me, to bear My name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for My name's sake."
An "apostle" is one that is sent for by God. God is the only one that can send an apostle forth to represent Himself to people. Paul was a teacher and through his teachings and his letters, to this day that we live in now.
That faith really never took place until he was struck down on the road to Damascus, but after that time God revealed Himself to Paul and he saw and heard from Christ directly. There was no doubt in Paul's mind on anything that he said or wrote, however to us today, we take those words that were revealed to Paul by faith. Faith is something accepted as absolute, even though we have not seen or heard it personally.
Many times people start out to teach the truth of God's Word, however somehow they get all wrapped up in themselves. They stand up behind the pulpit to preach the Word, yet all that comes out is the traditions of men, and stories of them and their families, and things that just don't relate to God's Word. They become preachers of everything but the Word of God as they get so involved in their own self gratification.
Truth or "verity" is God's Word and if you are going to preach God's Word, do it as you are instructed, chapter by chapter and verse by verse, line upon line and precept upon precept with clarity and understanding.
I Timothy 2:8 "I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting."
Prayer is powerful, and whose who's hands were lifted up are the ones that were nailed to the cross. It was Christ's hands that were lifted up, and those are the hands that we are to lift up in prayer to the Father. Holy hands are any hands that are doing God's work, which are doing what is required of them from the Word of God. Are you doing God's work or are you playing church?
Prayer is not a ritual, but it is simply talking to our Heavenly Father. You can do it when you are driving your car, or sitting in a classroom, and it doesn't even have to be formed in your mouth. There is nobody that can tell you that you can't pray in school, for God hears you when you pray silently, and He can answer you openly with blessings. No one can control your mind unless you allow them to. Prayer does make a difference, and there is not that much competition before Him, for very few even know how to talk to Him. You talk to our Heavenly Father like you talk to any one, respectfully, and remember that He cares for you and your well being because your a child of His. He knows all those little things that make you a human being, and it doesn't bother Him a bit. So speak to the Father as you would your own earthly loving father who also cares for you.
You either believe or you do not believe, there is no half way to faith for it is one way or the other. So when you have doubt in your mind when you pray for something, it is as if you are telling God that you just don't trust Him, so why did you pray in the first place. Let your prayers be without reasoning's and worry but simply state your desires, and trust the Lord that the proper thing will be done within His will.
This word "wrath" has another meaning also, and it is "disputing". The disputing is not with each other but with the Word of God. The "spirit of disputing" comes in with those that are lacking understanding of the Word of God. This spirit is dispelled by simply going back into the Greek and Hebrew and looking up the words of their actual meaning. There are many places where time has caused a language change and those changed meanings exist even within the English language. This is why it is important to have the proper tools of the Word of God handy when we do our studying. Then when you understand what it means, accept it as the truth. Know whether it is literal or spiritual, and there will be no room for dispute.
I Timothy 2:9 "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;"
"Modest apparel" means "a becoming manner". It is nice to see women looking pretty and beautiful, and men in a becoming way without shame. It means with modesty and sincerity in their manner and dress. It is what is in the person's mind when they do their hair up, or wear gold and precious jewelry, for the intent of the person is what is concerned here. There is nothing wrong in wearing an expensive dress or gold, diamonds and other fine apparel, but the point that is made here is that if you are wearing those things to display your wealth and for vanity, then it is wrong. However if you doing things God's way, and God has blessed you to the point of great wealth, then that is not wrong. If you are receiving the blessings of God, then that is not why you are wearing the dress or fine suit, but those things are the result of doing it God's Way.
As far as the "broided hair", in Paul's day the prostitutes spent so much time braiding their hair to make themselves ready to be marketed, that the main purpose of their elaborate efforts was not for modest beauty, but for prostitution of course. Now if you are a servant of God, and you have holy hands and are doing your work for God, then why would you be spending half your day working your self up to look like the prostitutes? Paul is telling us to dress modestly and look like you have good taste, and this applies to both men and women.
I Timothy 2:10 "But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works."
Paul is simply saying that we should all, men and women alike wear what becomes us. The important thing is that we are to use good sense and judgment and wear what would properly protect our character and credibility. Be in style for our times, and when in Rome, wear what the Romans wear. Robes were in in Caesars day, but they are not in today, get what I mean. Paul is telling you to use common sense in your dress that would go along with the work that you are doing for Him.
A preacher would not show up in his suit when the work he is doing is repairing the roof of the church, and if he did they would think he is crazy or a nut. Be realistic in your attire and the work that you are doing. We are going amongst sinners, and you can't look like a nut in the eyes of unbelievers and expect them to listen to anything that you say. If a person showed up in a suit to roof a house, they would know that you are either not truthful, or that you are a bit crazy and don't intend to work.
I Timothy 2:11 "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection."
Many people take this verse to far, for it is important that both men and woman sit and learn in silence and be in subjection to those in authority that are doing the teaching. The subject that we are talking about here is "learning" from the Word of God. When God's Word is being taught anywhere, there should be respect for the Word, and those doing the teaching. When you are in a church service and there is talking and moving around that distract others, then knowledge is going forth, and people are being robbed from what they came to hear. This is why there should be silence within the service, and every thing must be done with order and respect for the house of God.
There is nothing that anyone has to say in a service, that is more important than what God's Word has to say. If you think that your words are more important, than leave for you are missing the truth anyhow, and you are disturbing those around you.
I Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."
Many preachers use this verse to come down hard on the women in their church, and keep them all tied up. Just as the woman is to stay in her place, so a man and their children are to stay in their place also. The word "suffer" as used here is written because of what Paul was doing prior to his conversion. Paul was going into churches and dragging women out into the streets, stripping them and beating them even to their death. It didn't matter to Paul prior to his conversion or any of those ordered by the high priest what they did with the ladies that would preach the Word of God. Paul knew the suffering that anyone that taught the Word of God would receive at the hands of the Kenite priests and religious leaders, and he did not desire that to come on the Christian ladies of the church. This was a dangerous time to teach the Word of God, and Paul's intent was that the men should take the stand, have the backbone and preach the Word with all the risks that were present.
Paul knew those risks to those that he taught, for he carried the letter from the high priests, those sons of Satan, that had no respect for women in any manner. In fact, he was carrying the letter when he was on that road to Damascus to do just this to the men and women that were preaching and teaching God's Word. It was very embarrassing to the ladies, and even caused many of their deaths. Paul is now saying here that "I give you the liberty and the authority to not do it, to not teach and preach, and cause you to be placed is such danger.
There were women prophets, which is to say teachers in Paul's day and this upsets some of the men folk. Those that take this verse center on the word "not", and skip over the work "suffer", and they continue in their clouds of confusion and bigotry, for it makes them feel very manly to wheel their force over women, and in many cases the women have more knowledge and understanding than the men folk that are over them.
Paul was trying to protect all woman from the kind of treatment that was expected in those days to be given any one that preached or taught. As far as silence goes in the church, no matter who is speaking during a church service, no man woman or child should be allowed to speak and carry on when another is teaching the Word. Paul gave the woman the liberty to keep still and not teach if she did not want to, for this sake.
I Timothy 2:13 "For Adam was first formed, then Eve;"
This is true that man was formed first from the dust of the earth, and a man should be in the role of a man, and a woman should be in the role of the woman. and a man is to the family as Christ is to His church. I do not know too many families where the man is as Christ was for his wife and children. Christ gave everything that he had for His bride and wife. Jesus Christ put his children first in everything even His very Life.
Today the husbands and the preachers like to play the role of the man and wheel their authority over their little woman, but they refuse to take on the other responsibilities of the man, which in part changes the entire relationship that Paul is teaching here. A Christian wife should not be in total spiritual subjection to a non-Christian husband. It just won't work in God's Word.
I Timothy 2:14 "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression:"
In a far out way this is true, but we know that Adam followed along and also partook of the same thing that Eve partook of.
I Timothy 2:15 "Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety."
This verse has as many explanations as there are preachers. Some even say that the only way that a woman can save herself is through childbearing; This old boy that promotes this kind of thinking just jumped off the banana boat of reality. Any time we see a verse like this we should take note for there is a meaning in the Greek that just was not translated right from the manuscripts.
Mother Eve is the mother of all living, and this is in the spiritual sense. It wasn't because she was the only female, for there were other women that were formed in the six day creation of the other races. But from umbilical cord to umbilical cord, mother to child over many generations Jesus Christ's birth came through mother Eve's daughter, the virgin Mary. It is the Messiah, the Anointed one that mankind would be saved through, and through child bearing Eve's daughters would bring for the Savior Jesus Christ that saves everyone. Don't lose sight that this verse is a continuation from verse fourteen, and the ones that we are discussing is Adam and Eve and on to the wife. This is the teaching on the third level and it is hard to understand by most preachers today.
The second level is the fact that just as Satan would attack mother Eve as he had attacked her in the garden of Eden, so also he will attack her daughters with his fallen angels, and as Paul would teach in I Corinthians 11:5-9 the woman should pray or prophesy with her head covered. Lets go back and review it for a moment.
I Corinthians 11:5 "But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head; for that is even all one as if she were shaven."
Many bible thumpers use this verse without the understand of what the vail spoken of here is.
For a woman to be "shaven" is a mark of "xurao" in the Greek and it shows mourning or shame. When any woman is standing up and teaching God's Word, she should be bold and forthright, and not as one in shame. This is where Paul is saying that If a woman is speaking out in the congregation, and she is prophesying, then let them speak boldly. Paul isn't saying that woman can't speak out in church and teach, but let her do it with authority and understanding."
"Prophesieth" in the Strong's Greek concordance is # 4395; "Propheteuo, for 4396, to foretell events, divine, speak under inspiration, to exercise the prophetic office."
God made it very clear that in the final generation both sons and daughters will prophesy. It happened on the day of Pentecost, and Peter stated that what those in Jerusalem were seeing was a sample of what Joel the Prophet was talking about in Joel 2:28, 29.
Joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions."
Those days started when the Jews returned to Palestine and established the tiny nation of Israel to be their homeland. This is when the generation of the parable of the fig tree started, and that was over fifty years ago to us living today as we start this 21st. century. We are living in the days when this is coming to pass, and God expects the women to speak out when His Spirit places the prophetic words in their minds.

Joel 2:29 "And also upon the servants and upon handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit."
Live Link to- Joel
The whole idea that "woman were to remain silent in church" came from the traditional thought that "women chatter all the time", well pal, if you haven't noticed, so do men and the kids. It is time to stop chattering in any church no matter if you are a man or a woman. When God's Word is being taught that is not a time for anyone to chatter, but a time to pay attention.
Any pastor worth his salt will not tolerate chattering in their services while the Word of God is being taught, and Paul is backing up their position here. There must be discipline for our Father's Word, and this applies to all of God's people. Don't make a sexist issue out of this.
I Corinthians 11:6 "For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered."
Jesus Christ is coming back to earth very shortly for His bride. The "bride of Christ" takes on both genders, male and female, man and woman. Once again, keep this in the proper text, for it is not right for any of the bride of Christ man or woman, to speak when they are not covered in the veil of the wisdom of His Word. If a woman does not have that veil of Christ over her, then it is a sign that she is going to be taken at that wrong time, by the wrong Christ. [the first one taken by Satan, when he comes to earth first claiming he is Christ] Question for male Christians, Do you all have your veil on?
We are living in the final days of this earth age, and some of the seals are happening right before our eyes. The Jews are back in Jerusalem, the one world system not only exists, but our nation is giving it our tax dollars, and sending our sons to die in the name of that one world system called the United Nations.
[We are in the END TIMES! Many things are happening and we are to be watchmen on the wall of our time, men and women alike.
I Corinthians 11:7 "For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God:"
The woman is the glory of the man, for a good wife is the best gift that any man can receive. God created man and woman hereby the man and his wife become one. Without that oneness in the bonding of your marriage, you are not a whole, but only a half a person.
However, on a deeper level Christ is the groom, and His church is the woman. In as much as Christ is the warrior, spiritually speaking, He is the head and the one that gives His bride her direction. Though the man is to protect his woman when danger is present, many times the woman knows how to protect herself.
I Corinthians 11:8 "For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man."
I Corinthians 11:9 "Neither was the man created for the woman, but the woman for the man."
This is not to show superiority, but it is stating a fact that the man the woman were created as a team to work together in their marriage. God created each for the other. The woman was created for the man, and the man for the protection and well being for the woman.
When God said that a woman should never be without a veil over her head, that veil is Christ her protector. The veil is important because of the angels, or fallen angels that are going to return when Satan is cast out of heaven on to the earth. This is going to happen because Jesus Christ said it would happen. We are living in the generation that shall see this come to pass. This is the coming of Satan in the role of the Antichrist or "instead of Christ", and when you see him, you are going to see all of the fallen angels at the same time.
Today many Christians are preparing themselves for the wrong husband, and they are doing this through their traditions and teaching such as the rapture doctrines. They are closing their minds to the warnings given in much of God's Word concerning the events of the final days and setting their sights on the first supernatural person that comes with all sorts of tricks, lies, and supernatural powers. This of course is Satan I am referring to, and his coming is at the sixth trumpet, not the seventh.
[Christ comes at the seventh trump; Satan at the sixth. SIX COMES BEFORE SEVEN AT LEAST WHEN I WENT TO SCHOOL!]
It will happen when he and all his fallen angels and demonic forces will be right here on earth, and most Christians are just not ready for this great deception, because of the fairy-tales that they are taught in their church houses.
Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
I Corinthians 11:10 "For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels."
This Power spoken of here is the authority that God gives to each of us, when we are in Christ. This again is written to the end generation, and our power and authority for what we do comes directly from the Word of God. That power and wisdom that is in the Word of God comes when we place it within our mind to give us the wisdom to know how to make our stand, and what we are and are not to say and do. This applies to the "woman" and that woman is "the bride of Christ".
It is great that there have been great woman of God down through the ages. God gave Deborah the judge to rule over Israel, and she brought freedom and order to the land. Paul tells us of the four daughters of Phillip, and each one was a virgin, and a prophetess.
Acts 21:9 "And the same man had four daughters virgins, which did prophesy [teach]."
A prophetess is a teacher of God's Word, and there were many all down through the generation, from Miriam, the sister of Moses; Deborah during the time of the Judges; Huldah during the time of the kings; Anna during the time of the birth of Christ, along with these four daughters of Philip, and the many woman that took part prophesying on the day of Pentecost. Friend, we are living in the one generation that God states that woman will play a very special role in prophesying, for it will be the sons and daughters in our generation that stand firm and teach the Word of God.
It was dangerous for woman to teach at one time, and sometimes today, according to many preachers is also dangerous, but the problem is not the state and the heathen world outside, but like in Paul's day, it is the religious world also. But thank God for His Word, for it is written in Acts 2, where Peter quotes from Joel 2:28 and 29, that both sons and daughters would teach and preach in our day.
