Presents
The book of Nahum
It is written in both the Old and
New Testaments
that it SHALL come to pass in the last days
that God will pour out His Spirit upon all flesh
and the sons AND daughters,
those "seed" who shall come
and serve Jesus Christ in the final generation
and shall declare His righteousness(Ps.
22:30),
will both "See" (understand)
the "Visions" of the prophets
and they shall "Prophesy" (which
means to teach the prophet's) to their brothers and sisters.
Here is Peter on that first Pentecost Day following the resurrection of our Lord quoting (in the New Testament) from the Book of Joel (in the Old Testament):
Acts 2:17 (from Joel 2:28) And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
By the way, not only will the sons
and daughters of the final generation of the fig tree see the visions,
as in understand the visions, but
they will also "see them come to pass".
Truly this is the most exciting of all "Biblical times" in which to live.
It is the time of the event-packed
"last days",
the time that all the great prophets and the disciples
heard about
and wrote about and yet incredibly,
it is you and I who are the ones
privileged to actually be living in those days!
We have now come to the seventh book (chronologically)
of the Minor Prophets
called the Book of Nahum,
whose subject, purpose, and time spoken of
are all derived from an understanding of the very first
verse.
This short book is a "vision", a prophetic picture, of the prophet "Nahum" whose name means "consolation" or "comfort". Nahum was an "Elkoshite" who is a person from the town of Elkosh which means "El's (God's) Bow" or "God's Power". So you could say, as we shall see is true and fitting, that this "Comfort" comes from "the Powerful Bow of God" as He takes vengeance upon the ungodly! You "see", this book is also about the "burden" of Nineveh, i.e. the fate Nineveh must bear, which as we shall also "see" is the pouring out of "the wrath of God" upon His enemies when He "takes vengeance on His adversaries".Nahum 1:1
The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
Here it is:
Although there was an historical fulfillment of Nahum's prophecy concerning the burden (destruction) of Nineveh, which was destroyed 176 years after the mission of the prophet Jonah and about 90 years after Nahum's writing in 603 BC, that history was given as an "example", a type, for the understanding and admonition of we "upon whom the ends of the world are come", i.e. we of the final generation.[2] God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
Paul documents it for us in 1st Corinthians:
You "see", the vision of Nahum (comfort) the Elkoshite (God's power) of the vengeance of God upon His adversaries, concerns the SECOND ADVENT of JESUS CHRIST, which is also known as the Day of Vengeance. Do you remember in Luke chapter four when Jesus Christ came to Nazareth and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read?1 Cor. 10:11
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Jesus was handed the Book of Isaiah and opened it to Isa. 61:1 and began reading through the FIRST HALF of verse 2. (Actually the scrolls were not broken into chapters and verses like the KJV, but these are the verses He "found" and read from.)Luke 4:16
And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up: and, as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.[17] And there was delivered unto Him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written,
There is more to Isaiah 61:2 but this is as far as Jesus read and then He closed the book and sat down...[18] The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,[19] To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Christ told them that this verse, the part He read, was fulfilled this day. Why? Because the first part of the verse pertained to His FIRST ADVENT. But what about the part of the verse in Isa. 61:2 He did not read? Let's pick it up in Isaiah, for part two of verse 2 is not written in Luke:[20] And He closed the book, and He gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on Him.[21] And He began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
This is as far as Christ read in the synagogue.Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;[2] To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
Here is the remainder of the verse:
This is the SECOND ADVENT known as the "day of vengeance" which brings about "the vengeance on His adversaries" and the destruction of seat of the Assyrian, Nineveh, which is also known as Babylon the Great in the Book of Revelation. Thus we have the subject of the Book of Nahum, "the day vengeance" (upon His enemies) and "comfort" (for those who love Him).[2 ...cont.] and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
We are going to learn about that
"day of vengeance" in this book of Nahum (comfort),
which you might say is the book of "Comfort for all that
mourn",
who do wait and trust and rely on the power of God and
His "bow"
to protect them while He avenges the injustices of His
enemies!
We will also learn (vs. 7)
that our Father knows exactly who "they" are who trust
in Him.
Are you one of them?
Nahum 1:7 "The LORD is good, a strong
hold in the day of trouble;
and He
knoweth them that trust in Him."
The Book of Nahum, therefore,
is about the Second Tribulation,
not the Great Tribulation of
Satan when he comes to earth as the spurious
messiah brought about by the Assyrian
who comes upon the land to take
captive the souls of men.
No, the day of vengeance of our God
and the day He brings the nations to valley of Jehoshaphat
(Yahveh-judged) to judge them is at the 7th Trump.
That "day of vengeance" will give
comfort to ALL them that mourn,
i.e. ALL who lament
over the injustice and corruption in this world.
And the word "ALL" means all those saints who are both in heaven and on earth.
Rev. 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:[10] And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
In the meantime know this with certitude
from the Word of God,
even from this Book of Comfort:
God "shall NOT AT ALL acquit the wicked" (Nahum 1:3)
and they shall receive their just
reward for their unrepentant ways!
You see, there is "nahum" just in knowing that justice shall prevail from "El-kosh", at the powerful hand of Almighty God!
"His WRATH, the vengeance He takes, is "reserved for His enemies"
It
is our Father's desire, His will,
because
of the enormous love He has for all of His children
that
no
one should perish but that ALL "should come to repentance"
and
receive life eternal. It is for that reason that He is longsuffering to
us-ward
as
the apostle Peter explains:
Nevertheless, Peter continues in the next verse:2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsufferingto us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
In
other words, He shall pour out the fire of His wrath and destroy the "cosmos",
the
one-world system of the earth, (not the actual
earth itself)
Babylon
the Great (Rev. 18:8),
symbolized
by Nineveh in this Book of Nahum.
He
will then set up His kingdom as we learned in our study of Micah
from
which He shall rule all nations with a rod of iron.
With
that in mind,
let
us review the first two verses of Nahum
and
continue our study of his "vision" of the 7th Trump and the 7th Vial.
Nahum 1:1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
Nineveh
was the capital of Assyria,
the
seat of the chief Assyrian who was a type of the false-christ
who
shall come upon the land in the latter days
and
take (spiritually) captive the children of God.
Nineveh
therefore is a type of that "seat"
of
the false messiah of the final generation,
representing
the "place" where the abomination of desolation,
i.e.
the desolator (Satan) spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
shall
stand and claim to be Jesus Christ.
God
shall pour out His wrath upon that great city Nineveh,
also
called Babylon (confusion) the Great in Revelation,
and
it shall become history, archive material,
as
in burned up and gone up in smoke forever and ever.
Our
Father is not happy with the wicked who come against His children
and
He shall NOT acquit them!
[2] God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
Notice
that "The LORD revengeth" is stated twice here
to
draw emphasis to the importance of what is being said.
In
other words,
Make
no mistake about it!
The
Lord WILL TAKE VENGEANCE on His adversaries
on
that Day of Vengeance we read about in Isaiah 61:2,
i.e.
at His second coming.
However,
the comforting thing to know and understand is that His WRATH,
the
vengeance He takes, is "reserved for His enemies",
NOT
for those who mourn the evil in this final generation
and
who love and serve and trust in Him. Furthermore,
He
is slow to anger and has reserved His wrath for an appointed time.
Nahum 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
We
already read how Peter described Him as "longsuffering"
because
it is His will that ALL come to repentance.
To
that end, 87 years before Nahum's prophetic doom of Nineveh was written,
our
Father sent His servant Jonah, whose name means "Dove",
to
Nineveh to preach unto them that they might repent of their evil ways.
And they did repent and God did spare them from destruction.
This
was an example,
a
type set forth just as Jonah was a type of Savior,
that
we might know and understand that in these last days the wicked,
even
the kenites,
can
repent and turn to Him and trust in Him (vs. 7)
and
be spared from the wrath of God
which
shall be poured out upon the ungodly.
However,
as we just read in verse 3,
He
will NOT at all acquit the (unrepentant) wicked.
Jonah
knew how gracious,
and
merciful,
and
kind,
and
slow to anger our Father is
and
that He would spare those who repent of their evil ways,
even
the enemies of our people.
Here is what Jonah had to say:
So far we read learned that our brethren who have gone before us (and even we ourselves) cry "How long, O Lord...?" (Rev. 6:10). But you "see", though we desire for this flesh age and this wickedness to end we know that God's servants, His elect, have a job to do, "a work to finish". If we are patient as we are instructed to be and we have even a little of the same attitude of longsuffering as our Father, then it is also our desire that as many of our brothers and sisters as possible can also come to a knowledge of His Word and turn to Him in repentance.Jonah 4:2
And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
In other words, we have a work to finish in carrying forth that same promise and that same hope we have in Jesus Christ our Lord and we are staying in the field and working 'till we either breathe our last breath or the 7th Trumpet sounds!
Furthermore, there is soon coming a time when some of His servants shall be "delivered up" before the false-christ (the Assyrian) and they will give His testimony and speak the words that He (the Holy Spirit) shall give to them at that time (Mk. 13:11). And though it is written that we are not to premeditate nor take anxious thought about what we shall speak, the words of the LORD spoken to those in need of repentance in the last days are exactly the same as those of Jonah's we just read in Jonah 4:2.
Here it is from the Book of Joel:
Again, this expresses the love and compassion of our Father and emphasizes that salvation is open to all, to any who will repent of his or her evil ways and turn to Him. Unfortunately, the spiritual wickedness of the last days will be, even is, far greater than the wickedness in the days of Nineveh.Joel 2:12
Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:[13] And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.
Matthew 12:40
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Again, the sins and iniquity, the spiritual wickedness of the end times, shall be far greater than the idol worship of the days of Nahum, and the unrepentant shall experience the fiery vengeance of the wrath of God and they shall learn of His great power and come to KNOW that He alone is God![41] The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
The servant of God, Nahum from El-Kosh (God's Power), now discusses the awesome POWER of Yahveh who made the heavens and the earth and who controls the "winds" and the "seas".Nahum 1:3
The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
Remember when Jesus rebuked the wind and raging water and made them calm for His servants! He will do the same for you amidst the "sea and roaring waves" of these last days (Luke 21:25). "Sea" is symbolic of people and the "waves" are their movements thereof. Luke 8:24 "And they came to Him, and awoke Him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then He arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm."Nahum 1:4
He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
The plush pastures of Bashan, the lush vineyards of Carmel, and the rich forests of Lebanon all languish with drought!
We also read of His great power in Micah 1:3-4 and learned that "mountains" are symbolic of nations. Here we read that the earth is "burned" at His presence, i.e. the world and all that dwell therein, meaning all the people in the world. It is written in Heb. 12:29 that "God is a consuming fire" and it is by that fire, the Word of God, that every man's work is tried. That which is stubble shall be consumed away instantly. That which is gold shall be made even more pure.[5] The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
Knowing His awesome power, who is there who can withstand the wrath of Almighty God? The answer is NO ONE can stand against Him! However, His servants can and do stand with Him!Nahum 1:6
Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
And speaking of "rocks thrown down by Him", here is what Jesus Christ said to His disciples concerning the stones of the temple in Jerusalem, the "place" where the false messiah shall stand claiming to be God:
Not to worry though if you are one of God's children who know Him and trust in Him, for as we read in Nahum 1:2 "His wrath is reserved for His enemies" and not His children!Matthew 24:2
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
The Hebrew word for "strong hold" is maowz, Strong's #4581, and means a fortified place (fortress) or rock.Nahum 1:7
The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him.
He is our Rock, He is our fortress! And the day of trouble is soon upon us so the question is: "Do you know Him through His Word and trust in Him?" Is He your buckler, your protector? Does that same awesome Powerful Bow (Kosh) that completely destroys Nineveh also protect you at the same time? In other words, "Are you an Elkoshite?"Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
"The place thereof", as noted in the Companion Bible on pg. 1262, refers to "her place", i.e. Nineveh's! When Jesus Christ returns He will make a complete desolation of "the place thereof", the seat of the Assyrian (the false-christ), which is the "standing place" of "the desolator" who comes claiming to be God. Here is the Hebrew definition of "place".Nahum 1:8
But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
You might even say that "her place" is the seat of the Queen of Rev. 18:7, because it is!place = maqowm, maw-kome', Hebrew 4725; or maqom, maw-kome'; also (feminine) meqowmah, mek-o-mah'; or meqomah, mek-o-mah'; from Hebrew 6965 (quwm); properly a standing, i.e. a spot; but used widely of a locality (general or specific); also (figurative) of a condition (of body or mind) :- country, × home, × open, place, room, space, × whither [-soever].
Again, who can "devise" anything "against" the will of God? There is no one and therefore His Word and His plan shall happen exactly as it is written. Jesus Christ will come at His second advent, at the sound of the 7th Trump, and He shall take vengeance on that Day of Vengeance, against His adversaries and He shall stop the affliction, the "time of trouble" such as never was (Dan. 12:1), i.e. the great tribulation, and He will make an utter end of it once and for all time when He unleashes the fury of His wrath and leaves not one stone standing atop another in that place! No, there will never again be such a time of trouble![9] What do ye imagine against the LORD? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
He will not have to bring down Babylon the Great a second time for this time Babylon the Great is fallen, is fallen, and finished for good, forever and ever. Thank God! What a comfort it is to know the Lord and to know from His Word what tomorrow brings.Matthew 24:21
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Babylon
the great shall fall at the hand of Almighty God
at
the return of Christ and she, that great harlot,
shall
"be found NO MORE AT ALL", as in gone forever!
The Book of Nahum is the vision of what happens at the
second advent
on "the day of vengeance of our God" (Isa. 61:2) when
Babylon the great
(typified by Nineveh, the seat of the Assyrian)
is utterly destroyed by Jesus Christ and "the comfort"
(Nahum means "comfort") that destruction
of wickedness brings to "all that mourn" (Isa. 61:2),
i.e. the saints who lament the
evil injustice of the one world system headed by Satan
and who await for the King of kings
and His righteous judgment
to avenge the affliction of our
people.
Such is the theme and alternating subject of this great Book of Nahum.
Earlier in Nahum 1 vs. 9 the Lord said He would "make
an utter end" of Nineveh
and "she" shall NEVER again rise to afflict His people.
In as much as Nineveh was a type of Babylon the great
of the last days,
this speaks in the futurist sense of the events of Revelation
18
when "that great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and
shall be found no more."
You see, it SHALL happen and there
is NO ONE who can "imagine against the Lord",
i.e. form devices against the "powerful
bow of Almighty God" (El-kosh).
Hence, "Nahum the Elkoshite" means the "comfort which
comes from the Power of God"
when He takes vengeance, executing justice, upon His
(and therefore our) enemies.
Truth and Justice shall prevail and triumph over evil!
Let us repeat Nahum 1:9 and then read it in Revelation 18.
Nahum 1:9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
Again, the good news is that there shall never again be a world power ruled by the Satan for as it is written, the Kingdom of God shall be established upon Mount Zion at Christ's return and that kingdom "shall never cease"! Let us return to the judgment of Nineveh, the capital of Assyria, representing the seat of power of the One World System.Rev. 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all."
The New World Order is interwoven (folden) together like a basket of thorns and the nations of the world are all intoxicated with her power and great might. But as it is written, that great harlot and those who are drunk with the wine of her indignities shall be "utterly burned with fire", or as Nahum just described it, "devoured as stubble fully dry"! POOF! (If you have ever thrown a handful of straw or stubble onto an open fire you will know what POOF means!)Nahum 1:10
For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
Here is how John describes the same thing in Revelation:
Of course you will have to be a member nation of the WTO in order to access the markets and buy and sell and wax rich through the abundance of her delicacies (which means "strength").Rev. 18:3
For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath [the indignation] of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
Again, the whole interwoven system of the New World Order using the power of the Four Hidden Dynasties shall be consumed as stubble at the return of Jesus Christ. Peter records the same thing in 2 Peter 3:10-12 where he says that the "elements" (evil rudiments) shall melt with fervent heat" at His coming. The "Nahum", the "comfort" and "consolation" from seeing His justice prevail, shall follow that great Day of Vengeance when that 7th Vial is poured out at the sound of the 7th Trump.Rev. 18:8
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
It is really easy to "see" that the same subjects of "vengeance" and "comfort" that are in Nahum are also found in the 18th and 19th chapters of Revelation.
This is why the saints cry out for justice in Rev. 6:10, "And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" This is why they "patiently wait" for the "Day of vengeance; to comfort all that mourn" at the return of the King of kings and Lord of lords.Rev. 18:24
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
The "things" that just happen were the complete and utter destruction of (Nineveh) that wicked Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth, and all the "evil works" thereof.[19:1] And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
You see, it is out of Nineveh, who again represents the New World Order, the seat of the First Beast of Rev. 13:1, which is that basket of thorns woven together by the tares who are the sons of Cain, that the Second Beast of Revelation 13, the false messiah, that Wicked One emerges on the scene. Yes, it is written right here in the book of "vengeance" and "comfort to all that mourn".[2] For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of His servants at her hand.
The wicked counsellor is Satan himself, the antagonist of the Wonderful, Counsellor... The Prince of Peace. That wicked one comes out of that woven basket of thorns and imagines himself as Jesus Christ, though he is the false messiah. That is blasphemy to the Nth Degree. And because this "vile person" enters in peaceably and prosperously" (Dan 11) most people will believe the counsel of the wicked one, i.e. that he is Jesus Christ come to bring peace to the world. However, there shall be NO true and lasting peace until the Prince of Peace, the Counsellor of counsellors, comes to set up His Kingdom!Nahum 1:11
There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
He came as a child at the first advent. He came to pay the price as the Lamb slain and "... to preach good tidings unto the meek; to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;" Isaiah 61:2 "To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD...". Salvation is open to ALL who will repent and come and seek Him! But soon He shall return as the King of kings and Lord of lords to execute justice and take over the reigns of world government. It shall happen on that "the day of vengeance of our God;" when He comes to give "comfort (to) all that mourn" (Isa. 62:2). Yes, both the first and second advents were prophesied long ago.
And when the Prince of Peace comes and destroys "Nineveh", the New World Order, it shall NEVER rise again!Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
The word "zeal" is from the same root word as "jealous" in Nahum 1:2 which reads "God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and He reserveth wrath for his enemies."Isaiah 9:7
Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
"Though they be quiet" means there is "peace, peace, and prosperity" when the false prince of peace comes upon the land! And though they be many, as in the whole world, yet they shall be cut down.Nahum 1:12
Thus saith the LORD: Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through.
The subject of "vengeance", the destruction of Nineveh when it is thrown down, now changes to "comfort", the good news where God promises He will end the affliction of the Assyrian, that wicked counsellor, once and for all time and He will free His people from their yoke of bondage.
Oh what a joyous and Happy Day that will be!
Nahum 1:12
Thus saith
the LORD: Though they be
quiet, and likewise many,
yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through.
It is written that the Assyrian, the type of false-christ, is sent as a rod of His correction against His people. Remember the Book of Micah? It happens at the 6th Trump when Satan and his angels are cast from heaven to this earth in Rev. 12:7-9. But his time has been shortened and he will soon be bound and his evil empire utterly destroyed.Nahum 1:12 (cont...) Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
The yoke is the yoke of bondage of the New World Order and that wicked counsellor, Satan, the spurious messiah. This verse also documents that the wrath of God, His fury, His "vengeance", is not directed toward His people. He is going to free them from their enemies and their oppressors who have taken them captive. This is comforting to know![13] For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
We now return to the destruction of "Nineveh" and the pronouncement of God's commandment, His sentence upon that wicked system and the "vile person" who heads it.
The one who is "vile" is the "vile person" spoken of by Daniel the prophet in Daniel 11:21, "And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries." Yes, while they are all "quiet" and the "many" believe the lie that the "vile person" is Jesus Christ, then shall the true Messiah return and BRING THE HOUSE DOWN, that house of false gods.Nahum 1:14
And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
AND BEHOLD! THE GOOD (COMFORTING) NEWS FOLLOWS!
Good riddens![15] Behold upon the mountains the feet of Him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
The prophet Isaiah declares the same beautiful, comforting, joyous good news following that "day of vengeance" that Nahum just declared. Here it is:
Oh what a joyous and Happy Day that will be! The present patient waiting of the "How long, O Lord..." of Revelation 6:10 will be over! It will be a time of great rejoicing, a time to sing for joy, for those Christians who endured until the end, i.e.Knew the difference between what is Holy (the real Jesus Christ) and what is profane (Satan, when he comes to earth claiming that he is Christ!).Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
The "watchmen" shall be singing the Song of Moses which is the 32 chapter of Deuteronomy. Rev. 15 gives us the documentation and even repeats the subject of the first few verses of Deut. 32.[8] Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
That is exactly what the Song of Moses reads:Rev. 15:3
And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints."
Yes, the sweet justice from the All Powerful Hand of Almighty God (El-kosh) when He lays waste the seat of that wicked one, the abomination of desolation, who shall stand in the holy place claiming to be Jesus Christ will be joyful indeed! Remember in Mat. 24 and Mark 13 that the Lord said to His disciples that there would not be one stone left standing atop another when He returns to the temple mount in Jerusalem. It shall become be a "wasted place" and then shall His kingdom be established in its stead forever and ever.Deut. 32:3
Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.[4] He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
"Every eye shall see Him" when He returns (Rev. 1:7) and "every knee shall bow" (Rom. 14:11) to the King of kings and Lord of lords.Isaiah 52:9
Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.[10] The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
And you know what? We can "break forth into joy" now, for it SHALL HAPPEN exactly as it is written in the Word of God!
We read that our Father is going to take vengeance on His enemies and "break the yoke" (vs. 1:13) from off His people. That happens when the King of kings and Lord of lords returns at the sound of the 7th Trump and consumes by the fire of His wrath all that is evil and crushes to pieces the stronghold of the New World Order. The question is, "How many Christians do you know are aware of the fact that right here in the 7th book of the Minor Prophets, the "book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite", we have been given the privilege to "See" into the future and get a little glimpse of what happens when that "Day of Vengeance" arrives?
One thing is for sure, though, and that is that the "Day of Vengeance" SHALL COME, so as we begin the second chapter of Nahum, we see that God informs those of the NWO, Babylon the great, to muster all the might and power and collective strength they have because they are going to need it when the LORD God "gets in their face". "Show me what you've got Nineveh!" Of course all they have and all they can assemble will do them absolutely no good against the Power of His Might!
Again, this is addressed to Nineveh (Babylon the great of the end time) telling them they had better prepare ALL their might and fortify their strongholds because the time is soon coming when they will face Him. The phrase "keep the munition" is an expression which means to "fence the defences" or "fortify the fortress", but it will be to no avail because God is going to come against their stronghold and consume it and "dash it to pieces".Nahum 2:1
He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.
The word "breaketh" used here in Jeremiah 23 is "puwts" in Hebrew, the same word translated "dasheth in pieces" in Nahum 2:1, and the word "rock" means a lofty "craggy rock" as in a "fortress or stronghold". In other words, Jesus Christ is returning to crush the New World Order, to free His people from their captivity, to "break the yoke" from off them, and to restore the heritage of His people.Jeremiah 23:29
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Note: Heb. 12:29 reads, "For our God is a consuming fire". Therefore as we just read, His "word (is) like as a fire " (Jer. 23:29) and He makes "His ministers a flame of fire" (Heb. 1:7).
Once again, Nineveh better gather all her forces and "watch the way" (watch out) because the LORD is coming to dash her wicked one world system to pieces and break the yoke from off His people! Here we also see the alternating structure and subjects of the Book of Nahum, "the day of vengeance" upon His enemies by the all-powerful hand of Almighty God and the "day of comfort" for His people"!
What this verse says is that the LORD is returning to restore His people of the natural seed line of Jacob who do not even know who they are, i.e. that they are descendants of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. Why do they not know? Because the "emptiers" have consumed their "vine", meaning they have destroyed the "branches" of their family trees, the branches of that vine, their heritage, i.e. the knowledge that they are His children of the true House of Israel. Here is how Dr. Moffat translates Nahum 2:2:Nahum 2:2
For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
The emptiers, the plunderers, are also called "locusts" who by the time God pours out His wrath on His enemies at the 7th Trump and 7th Vial, will have completely eaten away and consumed not only the heritage of His people* but the very vineyard itself.Nahum 2:2 "But the Eternal restores the vine of Jacob as the vine of Israel, that the plunderers plundered, breaking down the branches." (Moffat)

Now let us see what might and strength the power of Satan as the false-christ and his troops have been able to muster.
The "shield of his mighty men" is their "buckler", i.e. their protector (defender) who is made red, red with the blood of saints. That is what Christ is coming to avenge and to bring those "mighty men" to justice for! Remember the words of the saints in Rev. 6:10 "And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" Soon, soon! There will be Baby Boomers, those of the generation of the fig tree, who shall see the return of Jesus Christ.Nahum 2:3
The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
You see, our Father has not forgotten the deeds of the wicked and He has "prepared a day" for His vengeance and their just recompense! But notice that at that time, i.e. in the day of his preparation, that the "chariots" shall be with "flaming torches"! The word "chariots" in Hebrew is "rekeb' and it means a "vehicle".
Do not let these "Chariots of Fire" be a mystery to you for God's Word identifies that which is unidentified to the world! Therefore a description of what these "vehicles" are (which are simply highly polished bronze circular flying vehicles) can be easily ascertained by reading the first (and tenth) chapters of the Book of Ezekiel! You see, when Satan and his angels are cast out of heaven to this earth (Rev. 12:7-9) they will have these "chariots with flaming torches"! Nahum documents that for us!chariots = rekeb, reh'-keb, Hebrew 7393; from Hebrew 7392 (rakab); a vehicle; by implication a team; by extensive cavalry; by analogy a rider, i.e. the upper millstone :- chariot, (upper) millstone, multitude [from the margin], wagon.
And as we read in the next verse, these "chariots" shall "rage", as in "run madly" and "JUSTLE" which means to "run to and fro" and they "shall run like the lightnings" meaning they are "lightning fast"!
If you are one of the "son and daughters" in these last days spoken of by Joel the prophet and by Peter on Pentecost Day in Acts 2 who "See (the) visions" of the prophets, i.e. understand the words and visions of the prophets such as Nahum and Ezekiel, then when you get to the Book of Revelation, which is like a summary of the words of the prophets, you will have no problem understanding what is written there. For example, these chariots (with wings - see Ezk. 1*) are also mentioned in Rev. 9 as being part of the "battle" array of the locust army, who are the "they" in the next vs. (Rev. 9:9) who come with the Assyrian (Apollyon the false-christ) when he is cast out of heaven to this earth and claims that he is Jesus Christ.[4] The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
The "breastplates" referred to in this verse are not "armor" but are part of a priest's outfit, like the breastplates the Levitical priest's wore which contained the 12 gemstones of the House of Israel. The fact that these fallen angels who are cast out of heaven with Satan wear "breastplates" lets us know that these "men", called "messengers" in the last verse of this second chapter of Nahum, will appear as "angels of light", i.e. as ministers and priests of Christ though they will be priests of the abominable one who comes CLAIMING to be Jesus Christ!
Let us return to Nahum and see how Satan and his troops make out on that "day of vengeance" prepared for them:
He, the king of Assyria (Satan, the false-christ), shall recount (bethink of himself) worthies (nobles, generals who may assemble their troops). In other words, the king of Babylon amasses his hand picked generals and they begin to charge ahead "rushing to the wall" for protection and to defend Babylon. But alas, this they shall do in vain for as we read in Nahum 1:9 "Who can imagine (form devices or weapons) against the LORD?" It is written, and therefore it shall come to pass, that He "will make an UTTER END" of Nineveh!Nahum 2:5
He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.
We shall even "See" in the last verse of this chapter, that those lightning fast "chariots" that "go like the devil", to and fro, will be burned up in a puff of smoke!
What a day that will be!
Behold, what a day that
will be when the King of kings and Lord of lords
comes to avenge the blood
of His saints
and put an end to the
corruption and injustice of Babylon the great,
typified by Nineveh in
this book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite,
the prophet of God whose
words are a "comfort" to all those who mourn!
And
by the time that "Day of Vengeance" arrives,
the
power and influence of the New World Order will have extended to ALL nations
(it even has)
including
both the kingdom nations and the ethic nations,
who
will all stand up beside each other (epi) in the market place (agora)
just
as Christ foretold us they would in Matthew 24 and Mark 13.
That's
right, Christ prophesied "Globalization"
and
said when this happens then the sorrows (labor pangs) would begin,
and
they certainly have!
Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Matthew 24:7 For nation [ethos] shall rise [stand up] against [along side of, beside] nation, and kingdom [properly royalty, i.e. the nations of the true house of Israel] against kingdom...

It
is also written in the Book of Revelation,
the
book of the "unveiling", that all the kings of the earth,
i.e.
all the leaders of the nations,
have
"drunk of her wine" and committed fornication with her (jumped in bed with
her)
and
profited through the "abundance of her delicacies",
call
it the strength and benefits of her WTO.
Rev. 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
[4] And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
"Come
out of her, my people"... out of the confusion (Babel)
and
step into the marvelous light of truth, His Word,
because
His wrath shall soon come down on her as "fire" from heaven.
[5] For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
Rev.
6:10 "And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy
and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on
the earth?"
The
whole damnable thing is going to go up in smoke!
Take
heed!
We been reading about the destruction of Nineveh, that type of Babylon the great of these end times. We now continue reading about her "fall from greatness" at the hand of Almighty God.
Nineveh was built along the east bank which was the left side (left coast, eh!) of the Tigris River and there was a perennial stream, Khusur, which ran through it along with a canal which ran straight to the Tigris River (see note in Companion Bible). The "gates of the rivers" therefore are the "floodgates" which shall be opened and all her people and great wealth will be drained out, and the palace, that temple, shall be dissolved (consumed as in "melted away").Nahum 2:6
The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
"Huzzub" refers to the "Queen" or "Queen Mother" even as Babylon is referred to in Rev. 18:7 as a "Queen" who has no need of an husband (Christ the bridegroom) because she claims she is "not a widow", i.e. she is already wed to the false messiah, the king of Assyria (Satan). Oh, she was a sight to behold and thought herself to be invulnerable and that she "shall see no sorrow"! Boy is she in for a surprise at the sound of the 7th Trump![7] And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
But she is so WRONG, for God has not forgotten her iniquities and "just like that" her judgment shall come and she shall be no more!Rev. 18:7
How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
Her destruction on that Day of Vengeance won't take long, will it?Rev. 18:10
Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Hey, there won't be anything left when the floodgates are opened and she gets flushed down the drain! Let's repeat Nahum 2:7 to fully understand the parallel between Nahum and that which is written in Revelation 18.[11] And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
She shall be "led away captive" means she will be "stripped naked" and "exposed" to the whole world, and her servants, the merchants of the earth (see photo above), are going to "lead her" (lead = mourn in Hebrew), meaning they shall "weep and mourn (Rev. 18:7)" over her, and "taber upon their breasts" which means to "beat upon their minds", i.e. "bemoan her"!Nahum 2:7
And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves*, tabering upon their breasts.
"But" should read "Though" because it prefaces the "yet" in this verse which simply says that though Nineveh used to be filled to the brim with exotic treasures and great wealth like a pool full of water, yet shall she be emptied out when the floodgates are opened. And though her captains, i.e. the "they" who shall cry (who are the "messengers" of vs. 13), will cry "stand and defend her, it shall be to no avail for all her people and great merchants shall flee from her and "stand afar off (Rev. 18:10)" and not go back. So...Nahum 2:8
But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
[9] Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.[10] She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness*.
She has taken captive the whole world Politically, Educationally, Economically and Religiously. Thus are the peoples of earth both "slaves" and sorely "deceived souls". But again, though she thinks no sorrow shall come upon her, she will soon be HISTORY when Yeshua returns.Rev. 18:12
The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,[13] And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
The whole damnable thing is going to go up in smoke! Take heed![14] And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
Do you know another reason why many shall be weeping and wailing? Because they will be naked and ashamed and wish to hide themselves from His wrath on that great day of vengeance when Christ returns.[15] The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
Who shall be able to stand? Well, there is one group who shall stand on that great day and they are the servants of God!Rev. 6:15
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;[16] And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
[17] For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
And they had
hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
They had hair as the hair of women" is simply an expression
meaning they appear gentle as women but watch out for those sharp "cheek
teeth"!
These next two verses in Nahum (vss. 11 and 12) personify Nineveh and ask in retrospect of her destruction, "Where is the great strength and prowess of your mighty ones (lions), O Nineveh?", and "Where is their dwelling place now?", for Babylon the great is GONE, FINIS!
Nahum 2:11
Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?
These are the vicious lions which shall be devoured by the sword of God in the next verse (vs. 13). They are the same "lions" spoken of in Joel 1:6 and again in Rev. 9:8.[12] The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens* with ravin.
These are those of the mighty locust army (headed by Apollyon, i.e. Satan) who just like lions "tear in pieces". John writes that they appear so sweet and gentle and lady-like but watch out for those sharp "cheek teeth"!Joel 1:6
For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
"They had hair as the hair of women" is simply an expression meaning they appear gentle as women.Rev. 9:8
And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
Daniel was "sealed" during the "night" in the would-be tomb by a "stone" which the "king" himself then placed his "seal" upon! [This account really needs no explanation other than to understand that it is a type for us today "upon whom the ends of the world are come (1 Cor. 10:11)].Daniel 6:16
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.[17] And a stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
[18] Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.[19] Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
[20] And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
The point is that God's servants are not afraid of the "lions" who rip and shred and tear because they cannot harm us and we know that the King of kings will take vengeance on them, just as the king whom Daniel served took vengeance on those wicked men who set up and delivered up Daniel and caused him to be cast into the den of "lions"![21] Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.[22] My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
[23] Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31). However, if God, the great "I AM" is AGAINST you, you have got some serious problems! And He is against Nineveh, that type of the New World Order in these last days, and consequently she shall be leveled to the ground, and her "chariots of fire" shall be consumed "into smoke" (not in the smoke) and the sword of the LORD shall slay those vicious lions and the voice of her "messengers", even those fallen angels who come with the king of Assyria (Satan) when he is cast out of heaven (Rev. 12:7-9) shall be heard NO MORE!
That "Great Day" when the second part of Isaiah 61:2 is fulfilled at His second coming, that great "Day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn" when Jesus Christ returns as Kings of kings and Lord of lords, will end once and for all time the captivity and oppression of the New World Order headed by the false messiah!Nahum 2:13
Behold, I AM against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
Comfort one another with the words of Nahum, whose name means "comfort" or "consolation"!
Students
of God's Word know that Satan is called by many different names and titles
throughout
the scriptures,
such
as we find in Rev. 20:2
for
example: "And he laid hold on the
dragon,
that
old
serpent,
which
is the Devil,
and
Satan,
and
bound him a thousand years".
He
is also called the
son of perdition (2 Thes. 2:3)
and
Lucifer
(Isa. 14:12)
and
little
horn (Dan. 8:9)
and
vile
person (Dan. 11:21),
and
the
adversary (1 Pet. 5:8),
and
the abomination of desolation (Mark 13:14), etc., etc.
Then too, there are numerous
characters and world rulers in history
who are given to us as
types, as ensamples,
of Satan as the false-christ
in these last days.
Some
of those types include Pharaoh of Egypt,
king
Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon,
the
king of Assyria,
the
king of Tyre, etc.,
all
of whom give us as in-depth look into the oppression
and
captivity of the combined Political,Educational,
Religious,
and
Economic
strongholds
he
(Satan)
possesses as the spiritual head of the One World System
in
this final generation which is that "International
Community of Nations"
now
known as "The New World Order".
Likewise,
that One World Sociopolitical
System
also has different names
and types throughout the scriptures.
You
see, the New World Order IS the 1st Beast of Rev. 13:1,
the
multi-headed one which rises up out of the sea (people)
and
is soon to be taken over and its powers "exercised"
big
time by the 2nd Beast of Rev. 13:11,
who
is the false messiah,
i.e.
Satan who is cast out of heaven in Rev. 12:7-9
and
who shall rise up... standing in the holy place... and claim to be Jesus
Christ.
For
example,
the
International World Shipping and Trading Center
of
the ancient world was the City of Tyre (Ezek. 27)
which
was type of today's New World Order
giving
us an in-depth look into the economic and market "Globalization"
of
the nations in this final generation.
Here
in the Book of Nahum the New World Order
is
likened to the City of Nineveh,
the
capital of the Assyrian who invaded our people
and
carried them away captive to "show us" a type
of
the spiritual invasion and captivity of the Assyrian of these end times,
i.e. Satan, the spurious messiah!
However,
"the
great" ancient city and first world ruling empire of "Babylon"
gets
the "gold" medal for typifying the New World Order,
the
last
world ruling empire.
As it was in the beginning, so shall it be at the end!
That
seems apropos in that Babylon,
which
comes from the Hebrew word "babel" which means "confusion",
was
founded by Sargon the Magnificent who was none other than Cain,
the
very offspring of Satan himself.
And
so it is that we have the great Book of Daniel
("Daniel"
means "God is Judge")
where
we see the trials and tribulation of God's children
during
the reign of the false-christ
who
is typified by the king of Babylon, king Nebuchadnezzar.
For
example,
the
king tries to make his captives (prisoners)
Daniel
and his companions eat his "meat" sacrificed to idols,
which
is symbolic of Satan's bad fruit,
but
they refuse and endure 10 days (see Rev. 2:10) by eating pulse,
symbolizing
that pure food from the Word of God.
We
also see God's children,
Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abedneggo,
"delivered
up" before counsils (see Mark 13:9)
who
threatens them with "death"
(i.e.
they are delivered up to death) by being cast into a "fiery furnace"
as
he tries to force them to "bow a knee"
and
"worship the image" of himself which he has set up to be worshipped (as
God).
Then
too,
Daniel
was also set up and cast into a den of devouring "lions"
of
whom we read about in our last study.
So it is very fitting that the last world ruling empire be called "Babylon the Great" symbolically in the book of the "unveiling", the Book of Revelation.
And because "Babylon the great" of these last days is so idolatrous, as was the first Babylon, and because she causes all the nations of the world to commit fornication with her, which is to get into bed with her global systems, she is also called symbolically the great whore in Rev. 17!
Let us go there and read a few verses of what John wrote:
God is Judge and it is on that "day of vengeance" when the 7th Trump sounds and the 7th vial is poured out that He will bring about "the judgment of the great whore".You know, the amazing part about the Book of Revelation and what makes it so simple to understand is that it is very symbolic which means it is much like a "picture book" with very graphic images. Of course symbology works to both extremes in that if you know what the symbols mean you get a very clear picture and understanding of what is being said. However, if you do not know what the symbols mean it can seem very mysterious and even scary!Rev. 17:1
And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
Not to worry though, because all the symbols of the Book of Revelation are explained either by the prophets of old or in the Book of Revelation itself as we will see in the next few verses regarding the "waters" and "the great whore", i.e. the woman, of the verse we just read.
Here now is the name written upon the forehead of this great whore:[2] With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
God's elect, those with eyes to see and ears to hear, can "already", even right now, see this great whore for what she really is, i.e. that she is a whore indeed! But soon, on her day of judgment as we are going to learn in this study of Nahum, she and her shameful ways will be EXPOSED to the whole world!Rev. 17:5
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
If you have understanding you can "see" how recently she has fomented world wars involving God's children, the purpose of which was to bring about the alignment of the nations, which was to bring them into her evil den of iniquity and embrace them with her seductive arms and to cause them to commit fornication with her New World Order! And speaking of martyrs, she will yet bring about the death of the two witnesses of Revelation 11![6] And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
That "great city" is that "bloody city" which killed the prophets and crucified our Lord! (Note:Cities don't kill people! If you have eyes to see; you know we are talking about RELIGION,i,e.THOUGH BE ITFALSE RELIGION!) YES, SATAN, RIDING his WHITE HORSE! Christians, don't get caught on board IT! Revelation 6:2Rev. 17:18
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Yep, she sits upon the whole wide world (That includes America and much of our "so called" Christian religion). So with that background of the Book of Revelation's account of The New World Order, let us return to the Book of Nahum concerning the burden (destruction) of Nineveh, a type of that "great city" of the end times.Rev. 17:15
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
"Woe" is not good news to hear from our Father and it will be at the third "Woe" Trump (Rev. 8:13), which is the 7th Trump, that the "day of vengeance" comes and the judgment of the great whore takes place, and all those who now mourn, who now lament the wickedness of the great whore, shall be comforted in seeing His justice executed upon her!Nahum 3:1
Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not;
Notice that bloody city is full of "lies" and "robbery" (call it Sodom and Egypt) and it has a stranglehold on its prey who are the "peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues" she sits on! And she will NOT EVER willingly release her captives! WOE to her when Christ returns to this earth for as it is written, He shall free His people and DESTROY the beast!
At the time of that "Woe" the "locust army" of Rev. 9 which "were like unto horses prepared unto battle" shall be present and those "chariots" we discussed a while back... remember... which go "lightning fast"... will make much noise![2] The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the pransing horses, and of the jumping chariots.
This describes the spiritual warfare that shall be taking place before that "day of vengeance" comes upon them! The horsemen lift up "both the bright sword and the glittering spear" and many shall be spiritually slain, so many that they shall "stumble upon their corpses", which is a figure of speech giving us a "picture" in our mind's eye of the vast multitudes spiritually "slain by the sword". God's elect who have the Gospel Armor (Eph. 6) on and in place shall not be among those spiritually slain![3] The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword and the glittering spear: and there is a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcases; and there is none end of their corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
The "great whore", "the mother of harlots", casts her evil spells upon the world which means she uses her witchcrafts,i.e. her sorceries and her idolatries, and false religion and false doctrines, mis-education,economics,etc., to bring about the "whole beastly system",i.e. the New World Order and Globalization. Also, if you take the time to look up the words "nations" and "families" you will find they mean "gentiles" and "family tribes" respectively, which are like the "nations" and "kingdoms" in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 which Jesus Christ said would rise together in the market place, i.e. Globalize. The fact is, and what we learn here from Nahum, is that the "nations" are actually bought and sold into slavery. You see, the word "selleth" in Hebrew is "makar" which means to "sell as merchandise" or "sell into slavery" or as a "daughter (religion) 'sold' in marriage" which is to be made into an harlot![4] Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
Got the picture? Here then is what the "LORD of hosts", Jesus Christ who leads the army of His saints when He returns, has to say to "the great whore who sits upon many waters":
The figure of speech used in this verse simply says that He will "lift up her skirt" and she will be exposed (discovered) as NAKED and her SHAME of being a great WHORE shall be fully REVEALED to... and do not miss this... both the NATIONS and the KINGDOMS who will have (and even have now) all "joined together" and jumped into her "queen size" bed and partaken of the abundance of her delicacies.Nahum 3:5
Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
It is just too bad that our people cannot "See" happening right before their eyes the "vision" John saw of the "Beast" of Rev. 13:1 as it "rose-up" from the sea (peoples and nations and tongues) and what a "great whore" the sweet sounding New World Order and its interwoven basket of thorns (vs. 1:10), those systems of Politics,Education, Economics and Religion, really is!
Thank God for His Word and the knowledge of His truth! May God help our brothers and sisters to SEE!
We learned earlier that the LORD of hosts, the great "I AM", is AGAINST that evil one-world empire, that "great whore" in these last days who "sits upon many waters (symbolic of peoples - Rev. 17:15)". We read that He shall expose her spiritual nakedness and her shameful ways to all the world when He brings old "Queenie" down.
In Revelation 18:3 we read that this great whore, the mother of harlots, causes all the nations of the world to commit fornication with her through her sorceries, i.e. to drink of her wine.Nahum 3:5 Behold, I AM against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
That is not new knowledge to students of God's Word for we read the same here in the Book of Nahum:
It is the judgment of this great whore that we are reading about in the Book of Nahum, just as we read of the judgment of the "great whore" in Revelation 17 & 18:Nahum 3:4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.
Rev. 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
To "make thee vile" is to "disgrace thee"! In other words, when God brings Satan and the "beastly system" of his New World Order down, the whole world shall look upon and gaze in wonderment at what a filthy, abominable whore Babylon the great truly was! And no wonder for she was the creation and "fruition" of that "vile person" himself (Dan. 11:21), that filthy abominable one (Satan) who makes desolate the souls of men (Dan. 11:31, 12:11).Nahum 3:6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock.
[7] And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
Rev. 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.[11] And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
So
do not ever entertain the thought that the One World System
with
its full control over the Four Hidden Dynasties has any strength whatsoever
when
it comes to standing against the power of His might! Be it known that just
as Nineveh,
that
great city, was destroyed as per God's decree and forewarning through His
prophet,
so
shall the future type she represents also be destroyed as per that same
decree
and
same forewarning of His prophet.
Note: We should also keep in mind that "history is prophecy" because it is true the "HIStory repeats itself", and that the events that took place in times past were ensamples (types) that have been written for the benefit and admonition of those of us upon whom the ends of the world are come! 1 Cor. 10:11 "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."
To that end, the prophet Nahum now reminds Assyrian Nineveh
how easy it was to bring down the great fortified city
of Thebes,
a city ideally situation on the river for protection
and a city which appeared invulnerable.
Futhermore and most important to our understanding is
that Thebes was the stronghold of the false god,
"Amon the sun god".
This historical example and analogy helps us place in
perspective
and understand the futility of man's strongholds and
how easily Nineveh shall fall on
"the day of vengeance of our God" (Isa. 61:2).
Nahum 3:8 Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea?
Well, the "Nineveh" of these last days with all her technology
and "power of the arm" will think so but when judgment
comes upon her
she shall melt as wax before the fire of His wrath!
Note: "Populous No" is "No'-Amon". "No" is the Egyptian city "nu" which is known as Thebes and "Amon" is the Egyptian god "Amon", also known as Jupiter.
Therefore No'-Amon means "Amon's city" which is the city
of a false god,
i.e. Satan's city, his stronghold!
You can read the history of the destruction of No (Thebes)
which took place around 663 BC
for it had risen to chief importance as the capital of
the new empire and had become a large,
and splendid, and populous city.
Homer speaks of its hundred gates (Iliad ix. 381)
and its tutelary divinity was Amon,
the high priest of whom was second only to the king.
Those who have eyes to see and ears
to hear will be able to see types even relating back
to the first earth age when the
king of Tyre (Ezk. 28) and his great city were brought down!
Yes, history repeats itself even
from the first earth age because
"there is nothing new under the
sun", i.e. there is nothing new in this flesh age!
Satan rebelled against God in the first earth and did not prevail!
Neither shall he prevail in this earth age!
[9] Ethiopia and Egypt were her strength, and it was infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
[10] Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
It is also written in Ezekiel 38 & 39 that these same nations shall form an alliance with the chief prince of Meshach, the leader of Rosh (Russia), who at the direction of the "vile person", that "little horn", shall come "from the north" leading that final great multinational army against God's people, even the United States of America. But it shall be to no avail for the great "day of vengeance of our God" shall arrive on that day and God shall utterly destroy that army with the power of His might.Daniel 11:43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.
Kibosh from Elkosh!
And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
And so it is that as we know the types from history we see into the future!
Therefore we know and have seen in type that Nineveh of
these last days shall fall
just as easily as did the city of Thebes when the decree
goes forth at the sound of the last trump!
Let us return to Nahum as he continues to address Nineveh.
"You shall be drunken" means Nineveh will "drink of the cup" [of judgment], that "cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath" (Rev. 16:19) when it is poured out upon her!Nahum 3:11
Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.
"You shall be hid" means to "hide thyself" (see note in the Companion Bible).
And so it shall come to pass exactly as it is written:
Who shall be able to stand? Actually, those who are Christ's at His second coming will be able to stand because His wrath is not directed at His children who love and serve Him.Rev.
As we read in Nahum 1:2, "He reserveth wrath for his enemies", not His children! In fact it is written that His servants shall stand with Him on that great day while His enemies seek a stronghold and a place to hide "from the wrath of the Lamb"! Is there any such stronghold that withstand His fury on that "great day of His wrath"?
Nope! All strongholds shall be like fig trees with plump firstripe figs dangling from them. One little shake and "They All Fall Down"! That is an analogy of how easily Babylon the great shall fall when God "shakes" her on that day of vengeance.Nahum 3:12
All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
Here are some more analogies:
Your troops O' Nineveh shall be weak and helpless as (unarmed) women, your gates shall be flung wide open, and fire shall devour your gate bars so that you can no longer close them for protection. So... you had better fortify all your strongholds with everything you can and prepare yourself to face the wrath of Almighty God, Nineveh! Because guess what...?[13] Behold, thy people in the midst of thee are women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open unto thine enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.
He IS coming to take vengeance upon His enemies and to give comfort to all that mourn (Isa. 61:2).
By now we should know and remember that "Nahum" means "consolation" or "comfort", even "comforter".
It is therefore not remarkable by any means that Jesus
Christ spent a great deal of time in a place called "Caper-naum",
the name of which comes from the Hebrew words "Caphar"
meaning "village"
and "Nachuwm" or "Nahum" meaning "comfort".
It was there, in the "Village of Comfort", that Jesus
Christ established His residency (Mat. 4:13, Mk. 2:1)
along with His apostles, and it was there also that He
frequently taught in the synagogue
and performed many miracles in fulfilling the first half
of Isaiah 61:2
"To proclaim the acceptable year
of the LORD...".
(Remember in Luke 4:19 He read the
first half of Isa. 61:2 and closed the book
and sat down saying "This day is
this scripture fulfilled in your ears.")
Yes, the One who created all things that are in both heaven
and earth,
the One who has all power, came down from above
to be born of woman in a lowly manger and ultimately
suffer crucifixion on the cross at Calvary
to pay the price for our sins that whosoever will
repent and turn to Him might have life eternal.
But the acceptable year (age),
i.e. the time for all "who will" to repent
and accept His salvation, is
fast coming to a close and that Lamb of God who was slain
and became our Passover shall
soon return.
Only this time the One who created all things in both
heaven and earth,
the One who has all power, shall come in that Power and
Glory as the King of kings and Lords of lords
and fulfill the second half of Isaiah 61:2 "...
and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn."
That day of "vengeance on His adversaries"
when His wrath
is poured out on them and the ensuing
"comfort"
it brings to His children in seeing
truth and justice,
i.e. His righteous, prevail is
what this Book of Nahum is all about.
Nahum 1:2
God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
The answer is: "NOT His adversaries, that's for sure!"
You see, there is conflict and
there is strife and there is enmity but there is "NO CONTEST"
when it comes to POWER!
It serves us well to ALWAYS remember
who has ALL power
and who is in charge of ALL things
for that knowledge gives us both comfort and confidence
in knowing that the end has been
declared from the beginning and guess what?
We have the VICTORY in Him who has all power!
Col. 1:16 For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him:
He does have that kind of power!
In fact, he's already toast,
i.e. as good as dead!
That is why he is called the "son of perdition" which means the "son who will perish"!
Hey, Michael the archangel, the prince of our people,
has that dude contained and restrained until God says
"OK, sound the 6th Trump and release him".
That alone shows just how little power Satan and his angels actually have.
They only still exist because it is His will in fulfilling His plan.
[17]And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.
Babylon the great, that great whore
and mother of harlots, that entire Satanic One World Political,
Economic, Educational
andReligioussystem
headed by Satan himself
standing in the holy place claiming
to be Jesus, shall be utterly destroyed never to rise again!
The destruction of the great city
of Nineveh we are reading about in Nahum was a type,
a forerunner, of the fulfillment
of the fall of Babylon the great on that "day of vengeance of our God".
We've learned that "Nineveh", which means the dwelling place of "Ninus" the false god, was shown how easily the heavily fortified and seemingly invincible city of Thebes, called No'-Amon, the "City of Amon the false god", was destroyed. God therefore warns those of the latter day Nineveh to muscle all their troops and fortify all their strongholds because the King of kings is coming with His saints to make war (Rev. 19:11-16) and execute justice on that "great city" (Rev. 17:18), the city of the false god of false gods!
We now continue with God's warning to Nineveh through His prophet Nahum:
Nineveh, you had better store up water (in case it gets cut off - a common military strategy) and fortify the walls of your strongholds with plenty of solid bricks and mortar because you are going to need all the protection you can get! (The irony in all this is for someone to actually think he or she can find protection from the One who made the sun and the moon and the stars and hung them in outer space! Go figure!)Nahum 3:14
Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.
That fire which devours them comes from Almighty God who is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29 "For our God is a consuming fire." Fire is unique because the very same "fire" can both purify or consume altogether depending upon that to which it is applied. For example, if you apply fire to gold it will cause the impurities in it to rise to the surface thereby making the gold more pure. However, if that same fire is applied to a pile of sticks or straw... POOF, it's gone forever and ever![15] There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.
In verse 15 the two phrases "make thyself many" mean "Though thou be many or numerous". In other words, although that locust army has grown to be many by the time the King of kings and Lords of lords returns, His "eyes as a flame of fire" with a "sharp two-edged sword proceeding out of His mouth" shall utterly destroy the great "locust army"!
[Though] you have multiplied your merchants* above the children of God, just as quick as the cankerworm sheds its skin and flies away, so shall your whole locust army be GONE... as in POOF![16] Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and fleeth away.
* Note: The stranger within, i.e. the kenites who are traffickers and merchants, have gotten "high above" the children of true Israel, the stars of heaven, through their exercise of the power of the Four Hidden Dynasties, particularly through the extraction of usury and taxation in our debt-based economy made subject to their "central banking" empire! God WARNED us not to stray from His Word and His commands or we would be made subjects to the taskmasters!
If you would like to understand more about how money and our debt-system economy works, find and read a copy of "The Hidden Dynasty of the Economy". It will open your eyes to what the kenites are up to!Deut. 28:43-44
The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.[44] He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
Cold inhibits the flight of locusts so they camp in crevasses and walls (hedges) but when the "sun ariseth" and things "heat up" they take off and fly away! It is interesting that the word "hedges" used in this verse also means a "sheepfold", as in the true house of Israel, i.e. the Christian nations of the world.Nahum 3:17
Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
In other words, the locust army camps in the house of Israel and devours the vineyard but when Fire and Heat come down from heaven the locusts shall be GONE! By the way, the "crowned" locusts, those fallen angels who come with Satan when he is cast from heaven (Rev. 12:7-9), are also spoken of in Rev. 9.hedges = gederah, ghed-ay-raw', Hebrew 1448; feminine of Hebrew 1447 (gader); inclosure (especially for flocks) :- [sheep-] cote (fold) hedge, wall.
Their crowns just appear, i.e. look, like gold but when His fire touches them they will go POOF! Also, this verse documents that we are not talking about actual locusts, as in insects, but persons.Rev. 9:7
And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
Again, this is an analogy which has nothing to do with actual hair or teeth but rather figuratively paints a picture in our minds of how these "crowned" locusts appear gentle as women but they will chew you up spiritually and rip you to shreds! You see, they will appear as "angels of light", i.e. as ministers of God. Yep, wearing breastplates, we're still talking about religion and preachers who look out selfishly for themselves, at the expense of their congregations, but, in this case they came from heaven with Satan when he and they were cast out. It's all part of God's plan; We need to be taught a lesson and by golly we are going to be taught one, big time![8] And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
The next verse documents it:
These "breastplates" are not breastplates of armor but the breastplates of PRIESTS! The Levitical Priests wore breastplates with the 12 stones of fire on them, representing the 12 Tribes of Israel! Furthermore, these crowned locusts have a king over them, whose name in Greek is Apollyon, which comes the word "apollumi" meaning "to perish"![9] And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
Rev. 9:11
And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
The final two verses in this
great Book of Nahum speak of the end of Apollyon, who is Satan, the false
messiah, and his "crowned" locusts who appear as "angels of light", i.e.
as if they were Christ's ministers and priests!
Remember, the king of Assyria is a type of Satan (Isa. 14:25). His "shepherds" (raah in Hebrew which means "to tend a flock", i.e. pasture it) slumber and his "mighty, gallant noble ones" shall "dwell in the dust" which means to "lie down" in death (see note in the Companion Bible)! Andthere will be no man, i.e. no leader, to gather them anymore. Why not? Because as it is written in Rev. 20:2, Satan shall be bound (and placed back in the pit - Isa. 14:15) for the duration of the Millennium.Nahum 3:18
Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them.
Here are the Father's final words to the king of Assyria:
Do you remember those mourning saints in Rev. 6 who "...cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" Just wait until they hear that Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen (Rev. 14:8, 18:2) and shall never rise again! And when Jesus Christ finally "bruises the head of the serpent" as it has been prophesied from the beginning (Gen. 3:15), there shall be much rejoicing, as in clapping of the hands, and singing (Rev. 15) at the "good tidings", the report that "it is finished" and the words of Nahum have come to pass! Note: "Bruit" means "report, tidings".[19] There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
What a great "day of comfort" it will be to those who mourn the evil and injustice that has passed continually, when the King of kings and Lord of lords returns to this earth and destroys the "great city" (typified by Nineveh) and puts an end to the oppression of the king of Assyria, i.e. Satan's "wickedness that has passed continually" upon all peoples and nations and tongues!
It shall SURELY HAPPEN exactly as it is written for the One who has ALL POWER has spoken it through his prophet, Nahum the Elkoshite! But you know what? Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, those sons and daughters in this final generation who see (understand) "visions" (Acts 2) and therefore have "seen" the "vision" of Nahum the Elkoshite (vs. 1:1), can be comforted and have peace of mind even now, for they know with certitude through faith and through the knowledge of His Word that we have the victory! Not only that, but they have a "heads-up" in knowing ahead of time the very song to be sung at the victory celebration! Do you know what it is?
Here is the victory song to be sung on that great day:Rev. 15:2
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
The Song of Moses is the 32nd chapter of Deuteronomy and the "saying" in Rev. 15:3 is contained therein: Deut. 32:4 "He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He."[3] And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
His judgments shall be made manifest (i.e. shown forth) on that great day when Jesus Christ returns and fulfills the second half of Isaiah 61:2! What an exciting time it is to live in this final generation! What makes it so exciting is knowing our Father's Word and watching the visions of the prophets come to pass exactly as He has foretold us all things (Mark 13:23)!Rev. 15:4
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
Thank you Father for your love in giving us your Son and in giving us understanding of your Word! What a comfort this Book of Nahum has been.
Amen.
