Without the leading by the Holy Spirit, there is no understanding of the truths, for all the truth of the Scriptures are revealed to us by God's Spirit.
Now here is our revised study of: Christopherson's Genesis 35.
"Death of Rachel, and Issac."
Genesis 35:1 "And God said unto Jacob, "Arise, go up to Beth-el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, That appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother."
After the slaughter of the men of the city of Shechem by Simeon and Levi, for the rape and disgrace that the leader's son put upon Dinah, the woman and children of the city are now slaves and servants in Jacob's household.
God is now giving Jacob another command to leave Shechem, and go to Beth-el. Remember the place of Beth-el, it was the place that his mother Rebekah told him to flee to, after his brother Esau had threatened to kill him. Jacob had been blessed by his father, by deception, when his brother Esau was in the field hunting, and in a rage of anger after finding out that his brother had tricked his father into giving the blessing to Jacob, Esau set out to kill Jacob.
It was at Beth-el that Jacob had his vision of God's ladder to heaven, directly to the throne of God; and on that ladder were many angels ascending and descending from earth to the throne of God. After the vision Jacob took the rock that had been his pillow during the dream, and anointed the rock.
Jacob made a promise to God after the vision, and that promise is recorded in Genesis 28:18-22; "And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it." [18] "And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of the city was called Luz at the first." [19]
"And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, "If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on," [20] So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God:" [21] ":And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that Thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee." [22]
This place of Beth-el means "the house of God" in the Hebrew tongue. It was the place where Jacob made his commitment to God, and named the place. God is now telling Jacob, you go back there. God had kept his commitment to Jacob, and now Jacob is returning to Isaac his father a very wealthy man, with the wealth God gave him while in the service of Laban, as well as the current wealth from the city of Shechem.
Jacob made a vow to God, and God is reminding Jacob of that vow that he made over twenty one years prior.
Another thing to remember, as pointed out by many scholars, this pillar is the stone that sits under the coronation chair in England, that all the Kings and Queens are crowned upon. It is located in Westminster Abby.
Genesis 35:2 "Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, "Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:"
The sons of Jacob, and his household had just cleaned out the Hivite town, and taken the wealth of the city for their own. Among the booty of the town were the idols, and strange gods of these mixed racial people.
Genesis 35:3 "And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, Who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went."
That "day of my distress" was when Jacob was frightened, and running for his life from Esau. Jacob now remembers the vow he made to God, and he can see the work in his life by God. That vow was that God would protect him, and provide for him, then God would be his God.
Genesis 35:4 "And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem."
Jacob put all that religious junk under that tree, and left it behind. They cleansed themselves, and put off the evil things around them. When we do this today, put off the evil things that we are tied to, and seek a new direction, God will also work in our lives. You must start out by repenting of all sin in your life, which cleanses you from the gods of this world, and then we put on the New Apparel, which is the "Gospel Armor", and then you will be in good standing before God.
Genesis 35:5 "And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob."
Remember how Jacob whined and carried on how all the cities and peoples of Canaan would be enemies against him, and they would kill him and his household? Jacob sunk to a low in his trusting of God's ability to protect him. God had assured Jacob, and they had all just cleansed themselves, as God told them to do, and now God is caring for His own. That was God's promise as he went back; "I will be with you."
Today, when you have done all that you can do, then turn to the Lord and He will do the rest in His way. Your part is to trust God, and trust him, and know that God will fulfill His promise in your life, and lead you to where you should be at that time. Though it may seem bad at times, God will take care of you. God has an entire host of angels that go before you, and clears your path from your enemies.
Jacob met God's host, and saw them in Genesis 32:1-2, and Jacob knew that the host of angels were present with him. God was no different then, as He is today; Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." The God of Jacob is our God today. When we are trying to deal with someone so fixed in their mind, and beyond reason, then that is the time to turn it over to our Heavenly Father, and watch Him work.
Genesis 35:6 "So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Beth-el, he and all the people that were with him."
Genesis 35:7 "And he built there an altar, and called the place El-Beth-el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother."
This was a special place for Jacob, where he made his vow, and through the years saw how God fulfilled the commitment of that vow to Jacob. "El-beth-el" in the Hebrew means "God of the house of God". It is not the men of the church that is in charge of His house, but God is in charge of His own house. If there is a problem in your life, we can go directly to Him, in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and he understands exactly what the causes are, and how to fix the problem.
Genesis 35:8 "But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Beth-el under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth."
"Allon-bachuth" means the oak of weeping, in the Hebrew language. In that there is no more record made of Rebekah and her life, from the time of Jacob's leaving for her brother Laban's house. It can only be assumed that Rebekah's nurse joined Jacob's household either bringing news of Rebekah's death, or she simply joined the household upon her death.
Genesis 35:9 "And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him."
God is blessing Jacob again, as He will all of His children when they obey. Jacob made his household obey, by giving up their idols, and cleaning themselves up.
Genesis 35:10 "And God said unto him, "Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: "And He called his name Israel."
"Israel" in the Hebrew language means "The Princes that prevailed with God".
Genesis 35:11 "And God said unto him, "I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;"
When we study Genesis 48 we will see that each of his sons will become Patriarchs of their own tribes, which develop into nations and groupings of nations. This promise reaches far beyond what the church world today would have us believe; that the offspring of Jacob today is comprised in the tiny nation of Israel, with brother Judah, mixed with the Kenite population towering over them. Those who call themselves Jews, but are not, see Revelation 2:9, and 3:9, for the warning that Jesus told John to write to our end time generation.
The kings of England today are even crowned and anointed over the same pillar that Jacob anointed to God, to call an eternal remembrance to all those who sit on that throne, and the subjects that they rule over. [The people of republics are citizens, while people under a king or queen are subjects.] All royal thrones of the Christian nations are tied directly by blood to the throne of England, which is the direct linage to King David, Judah, Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham. It is no accident that the Queen of England is Elizabeth II, for her lineage dictates it.
God's word, and his house still exist today, and the mere fact that a King or Queen sits on the throne is the reminder to all His children that He does keep his word, even though we allow ourselves to get lazy in his word, and run to Kenites for its interpretation, His word is truth, honest and fixed. When it seems that God's word is wrong, it is the person questioning the word that is in error. That is why we must use the right tools in getting the correct meaning for that Word.
The first duty of any King or Queen is to be the protector of the Faith, and that faith is God's Word. That is why we have the King James Bible today. He made the order for this translation, whereby each subject to his throne could have their own copy within their homes, that their lives could be guided by its words. From the year 1611 A.D. it has continued to be the guidepost in most Christian homes, and governments.
Genesis 35:12 "And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land."
These
are the Christian nations of today, and it all started seven hundred
years before Jesus birth, when they migrated over the Caucasus
Mountains, and scattered throughout Europe, the Americas, and became
know as Caucasians. This name records an event of the movement, but has
since become the identifying feature of their race [Adamic].

know who you really are?"
Are you a Israelite?
Be thoughtful before you answer.
(Maybe you only think you're
a Gentile!)
The prophet Hosea foretold how these people could be identified in the final times in Hosea 1:10; "Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, "Ye are not My People,` there it shall be said unto them, "Ye are the sons of the living GOD".
My friend, the Christian world has so followed after the Kenite lies, they denounce their ties to Israel, and give it over to the band of Orientals that have mixed and taken over bother Judah. They just can't see how God has blessed them, yet they continue to call themselves "Caucasians". Yet these nations continue to call themselves "Christians", for in doing so, they identify themselves as "the sons of the living God". It is Jesus Christ that is the Living God, for when Jesus Christ came out of that tomb, and arose from the dead, and ascended into heaven, He became our living God.
The seed of Jacob has multiplied into kings and nations, and an area that covers half of the face of the earth. God's people still carry those blessings that He gave to Jacob, and it is no accident that America, Canada, England and all the other Christian nations have done well. God blesses His people, and still gives divine intervention on their behalf.
Genesis 35:13 "And God went up from him in the place where He talked with him."
Genesis 35:14 "And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where He talked with him, even a pillar of stone: ;and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon."
Jacob anointed this place, Beth-el as holy ground. God is the God of God's house.
Genesis 35:15 "And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Beth-el."
Genesis 35:16 "And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.'
Rachel was having problems delivering this child, and she will die giving this birth. Mark this place "Ephrath" well, it is Bethlehem. The name "Bethlehem" means "the house of bread", and spiritually, Christ's body is the bread of our spiritual strength and bread that brings forgiveness upon our repentance and gives us eternal life. This promise came from this very place Beth-el, through the promise from God to Jacob.
Jacob's first love, Rachel will die, and from her will come the last of the twelve sons of Israel, Benjamin. also in this place, years later, shall come another son born to a virgin, and that son shall be the savior of all mankind, that shall seek His name. His name is Jesus, the son of the living God.
This is foretold in Micah 5:2; "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."
From very old, even the first earth age, and everlasting, for it is even written in the constellations of the heavens.
Genesis 35:17 "And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, "Fear not; thou shalt have this son also."
Genesis 35:18 "And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called out his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin."
"Ben-oni" means "son of my sorrow"; and "Benjamin" means "son of my right hand."
Genesis 35:19 "And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is beth-leham."
There is no accidents in God's Word, but a perfect woven pattern that brings all of God's word in harmony with each other. Jacob was brought back to the same identical spot where he had his vision, and made his vow to God; and now years later, after God kept His promises, Jacob came to God in reverence and humility. Jacob is given his last son, and God took Rachel home to be with Him.
Genesis 35:20 "And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day."
The pillar on Rachel's grave, is the rock that Jacob anointed and later will become the pillar stone that kings will become anointed and coroneted upon, and be the foundation of nations. It would be to that promised seed that God would bring the promised one, Jesus Christ.
Genesis 35:21 "And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar."
"Edar" is about two miles beyond Bethlehem.
Genesis 35:22"And it came came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:"
This act of Reuben will cause his losing the blessing of the firstborn, and it will be passed on to the firstborn of Rachel instead. It is Joseph that then receives the Abrahamic covenant blessing, passed on through Jacob, as we will see in Genesis forty eight and Genesis forty nine. This act of Reuben is the same act that was committed by Ham, and it is called "uncovering your father's nakedness".
This law is written in Leviticus 18:8; "The nakedness of they father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness." This law was given to Noah also, and existed a long time before Jacob's time.
Genesis 35:23 "The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:"
Genesis 35:24 "The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Ben-jamin:"
Genesis 35:25 "And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's hand-maid; Dan, and Naphtali:"
Genesis 35:26" And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's hand-maid; Gad and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram."
All of Jacob's sons were born in Padan-aram, except for Benjamin, and these twelve sons will be the Patriarchs of the tribes to form the ancient nations of Israel. Following the death of King Solomon, Israel is split into two separate nations called the "House of Israel" [ten tribes, later to be known as the Christian nations], and the "House of Judah" [which are the Jews]. We see throughout the Bible that God treated them both separately, and the Book of Hosea tells us that He divorced Israel, and kept Judah.
The House of Israel was scattered by Assyria in 722 B.C., and the House of Judah was hauled into Babylon years later by Nebuchadnezzar and his army.
Genesis 35:27 "And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned."
Genesis 35:28 "And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years."
Isaac, the father of Jacob [Israel] lived to be one hundred and eighty [180] years old.
Genesis 35:29 "And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him."
When Isaac died, both of his sons Jacob and Esau were present. In years to come they would both become nations, and in the latter days each would become the father of the superpowers that control the world. The struggled before they were born, and all through the years, and even today they continue to struggle right up until the time of the return of our Lord at the seventh and last trump.
Jacob and Esau buried their father in peace, and even today, as the world nations are coming together under one banner of the new world order, there is still a false sense of peace that will exist, until the time of Ezekiel 37-39 comes about, and Russia [Esau] will once again turn against her brother Jacob [Israel-the Christian nations].
