Hosea chapter 6

Are you familiar with God's plan of salvation? Unfortunately, very few Christians are aware that "salvation" is what this Book of Hosea is all about or even that the very name "Hosea" means "salvation", as in "deliverer"! Yet it is this Book of Hosea which tells us in graphic picture format, using such analogies as marriage and adultery, how our Father looks upon and feels about the horrible adulterous (idolatrous) affairs that His children commit. You see, it is their RELIGION of Churchianity, which has all the glitter and appearance of Christianity, but which teaches the traditions of men and ignores His Word, that is the adulterous debauchery of the House of Israel, yes even of America the Beautiful. Gomer has gone astray and become the bed partner of another "man" and her children of this day belong to another, the Instead-of-Jesus, Satan, himself.

However, it is written throughout God's Word that there is a day coming, called the Day of the Lord, when Jesus Christ will put an end to all the whoredom and idolatry in the land, and Gomer will return to her husband. Unfortunately for her, as with most professing Christians, she returns only after she has learned some hard lessons, after she has "suffered in her affliction" and "acknowledges her offence", her adulterous (idolatrous) ways, and stands poor and wretched and naked before her Lord when He returns from His "place". Until then, as both Peter and James tell us, the Lord waits patiently for that day lest she returns to Him now:

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

James 5:7
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

Hosea also tells us He waits "till" that day of reckoning, which is where we left off in our last study:
Hosea 5:15
I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
Where is the Lord's place? Well, where did He go and return to? He returned to heaven following the crucifixion and now sits at the right hand of the Father and shall remain there until that day, until the sound of the 7th Trump. The question is, "What are you going to do until then?"
Hosea 6:1
Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
The amazing thing about correction is that children come to respect and to know in their hearts that their parents love them when their parents discipline them in love. Let me translate that as it concerns our people. America the Beautiful, the largest of the 10 tribes of Israel, after learning the hard way that her lovers cannot heal her nor bind up her wounds, will eventually come to know that it was the Lord God who corrected her and disciplined her in His unconditional love for His people. Unfortunately for most Christians, that realization will not occur until His return at the 7th Trump and they will miss out on the enormous blessings of the First Resurrection, which is the first granting of eternal life. It is written in Rev. 20:6
"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

However, the invitation to the wedding is now open and as Hosea just said, "Come, return unto the LORD", meaning return NOW! If you do, He will grant you that eternal life when He returns and you shall live (forever) in His sight (1 Thes. 4:17).

[2] After two days will He revive us: in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight.
Some scholars struggle with this verse but it is really quite simple because it follows the subject and speaks of the time when the One who has returned to His place in heaven, comes and raises up His people (see note in Companion Bible). In other words, this verse speaks of the first resurrection when He will "raise us up" (to eternal life) and we shall "live in His sight"! That happens on the third day following His return to His place, i.e. to the throne in heaven. How so? Are you familiar with 2 Peter 3:8? Do you know how long a "day" is with the Lord?  "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8)." The "Day" He raises us up is known as the Millennium, the Lord's Day, the day of His return. In other words, after two days IS the third day! Two days (2000 years) after the crucifixion when Jesus Christ returned to His place, is when the third day starts, which is the Day of the Lord, the Millennium (1000 years), the day when "we shall live in His sight".
[3]Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
Do you "follow on to know the LORD", i.e. study His Word and seek to know Him, or do you follow after the traditions of men? "His going forth is prepared as the morning" means it is already predetermined and "hewn in stone", and God's plan and timetable are as sure a thing as the sun coming up in the morning. He shall return on schedule, at the appointed time, which is near at hand! Until then, it is written in both the Book of Peter and the Book of James how the Lord now waits patiently (in His place) for the harvest, for the precious fruit of the earth, and He provides the former and the latter rain for that harvest. Do you know what the latter day rain is? It is his precious Word, as recorded in your Bible.
James 5:7
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
Our Father wants us to KNOW Him and LOVE Him (Hos. 6:6). And so the latter day rain is now falling, if only you will allow it to water the buds of your mind
whereby you grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord and your love for Him increases each day.

Did you know that those who seek Him now and overcome the deception (mark) of the false messiah will be singing the Song of Moses, which is the 32nd chapter of Deuteronomy, at Christ's return? All that we have been learning concerning salvation in this Book of Hosea is contained in that song, so it is important that we know it. Here is the documentation that the overcomers will be singing it.

Rev. 15:2
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

[3] And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

[4] Who shall not fear [revere] thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

His judgments shall be made manifest (made known) when  He returns. In other words, as we read in Hosea, at that time His people will know and will acknowledge their "offences" (Hosea 5:15) and that it was the Lord who "hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up (Hos. 6:1)."

Let us read a few lines from the beginning of the Song of Moses:
Deut. 31:30
And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.
Deut. 32:1
Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

[2] My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

[3]Because I will publish [proclaim] the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

[4] He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is that Rock upon whom the "wise" virgins, the wise Christians, build their houses!

What have the "foolish" done?...
[5] They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.
Their spot is not our spot means their blemish, i.e. their gross offence of whoredom/idolatry with another "rock", is not the spot or blemish belonging to His children who have remained faithful to Him.
[6] Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?
Oh foolish people (who have not built upon the Rock) and unwise (void of wisdom from His Word), is it not the Lord God who has bought thee? Was it not He who paid the awesome price to redeem His children? He gave His life for them of which there is no greater act of love. So the question is, "What more can He do?"

He asks that very question through His servant Hosea:
Hosea 6:4
O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.
"What am I going to do with you children?", He asks. "Your love is so fleeting, like the early morning fog and dew that are quickly burned away when the sun comes up. You go to church once a week and sing praises to me but do you ever crack the Book during the week and study my letter which I have written unto you?" The words of Isaiah 29:13 are so true: "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men." All most of our people know about the love of God is what they have learned through the traditions of men while they ignore His Word, which reveals the very nature and mind of our Father as well as His entire Plan of Salvation.
[5] Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
What this verse is saying is that the entire Plan of God, His Plan of Salvation for His people, is "cut in stone", i.e. hewn! That's right, the whole plan from the beginning is cut out and laid out by the prophets of God through whom He spoke His Words, the words of His mouth! Therefore, His people are WITHOUT EXCUSE! Jesus Christ said it simply and clearly in His own words in Mark 13:23 when He declared that He has foretold us ALL THINGS! "But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things (Mark 13:23)." Therefore, as we just read in Hosea 6:5, as SURE AS THE SUN COMES UP (which is what "as the light goeth forth" means) His judgments shall come to pass! YOU CAN COUNT ON IT!

And you know what? It is really too bad that His cup of wrath must be poured out because all our Father really wants from His children is their LOVE and devotion. He doesn't want their animal sacrifices or their money, etc.! He just desires that they love Him and get to know Him through His Word!

Hosea 6:6
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
[7] But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
As it was in the beginning so shall it be in the last days. Yes, from Adam (like "men") even to this day God's children have broken His covenant and they have been unfaithful (dealt treacherously) against Him. Even as Eve was seduced by the serpent (Satan) His children continue to break their spiritual marriage vows with total disregard as if they meant nothing. Even this very day, though our people have the Written Words of the Living Word right on their coffee tables or book shelves, they ignore His warnings and instructions He gave them through the prophets and the apostles and they have allowed themselves to be hypnotized and seduced by that old serpent, the false messiah, the prince and power of the air. And their "many" preachers of whom Christ warned them to be wary in Mat. 24 and Mk. 13, lead them right down the path to hell, to spiritual death. Would you like a graphic illustration to demonstrate the spiritual treachery and iniquity of today's preachers? Our Father gives us one in the next two verses.
Hosea 6:8
Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
Ramoth-Gilead was a city of refuge and of the priests and serves as an example of "them that work iniquity". Remember the words of Christ in Matthew 7:23 "... depart from me, ye that work iniquity."? Well, you can do your own homework and read the history of Ramoth-Gilead and of the "roadkill" on the way to Shechem for yourself. Just remember that it is an analogy of that which is spiritual. In other words, just as Gomer's physical adultery represents the spiritual idolatry of God's people, so does the bloodshed of Gilead represent the spiritual slaughter, the murder of the souls of His children who have been stalked and ambushed by the consent of the priests.
[9] And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
How do the priests commit spiritual murder? By their lewdness, i.e. by their IDOLATRY! Priests and preachers can be your most DANGEROUS enemies because they can cause you to become and remain a "spiritual whore" if you listen to them instead of God's Word! And our people just love their preachers and their churches of which many are nothing more than Beth-avens! However, it is not a pretty sight to our Father for He is horrified by the lewdness of the priests and His children in churches of our land.
[10] I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the whoredom of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
How much more horrible can it be? Imagine seeing your wife commit adultery and give her love to another "man", i.e. SATAN! Oh America the Beautiful, God has so shed His grace on thee! Why do you forsake His Word for the love of church and the traditions of men? Why cannot you see your adultery? You are defiled indeed. You have "spots" and "blemishes" because you have allowed the "leaven", the doctrine of the Pharisees which Christ also warned against (Mat. 16:12, Luke 12:1), even the doctrine of the kenites, to infiltrate your houses of worship and you actually serve their "rock". "O come, all ye faithful... return now unto the Lord (Hos. 6:1)."
Hosea 6:11
Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
Yes, there is an appointed time for the harvest, which means the "reaping of judgment", for the House of Judah too! The question is, "Will you continue listening to the preachers of Churchianity and wait until such time as the pain and shame of Israel's adultery is revealed at the sound of the 7th Trump, or will you turn to your Father now and love Him and seek His Word, which is to give Him His heart's desire?" Do you really love Him? He loves you and He has shown that love in so many ways! If you do not SEE it now, some day hopefully you will! I pray that happens before His return, for then the period of His grace will have ended, you will miss out on the First Resurrection; And your only hope for "Eternal Life" then will be "by your works during the Millennium" (The second Resurrection to Eternal Life) or You will face "The Second Death in the Lake of Fire". (TO BE NO MORE, THE SAME PUNISHMENT AS SATAN'S) Hosea 6:6
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
