Obviously if God brings a nation against a people and causes them to be killed, they won't know that He is the LORD God who loves them while they are in the flesh, will they?
We have now studied 24 chapters (2 x 12) in this book of Ezekiel concerning the House of Israel and the House of Judah (the descendants of the ancient "House of Israel" plus very many descendants from the ancient "House of Judah" make up the Christian nations of western Europe, the isles of Britain, and the Americas today, in this 21st. century). We have seen by modeling, by play acting, and by actual historical events all the why's, the when's, and the wherefore's of their whoredom's (idolatries), their rebellion in not following our Father's Word, and their ensuing chastisement by the soon coming king of Babylon, Satan himself.
So by now you are probably wondering about all those other nations, the other Hebrew nations who are not of Israel, and the nations of the gentiles, that all come in contact with Israel, right? I mean, if God is the creator of all mankind, are they not children of His too? We know that they are all steeped in idolatry and heathenism, so what is their fate? The fact is that they ARE His children! He created ALL of the races of people and pronounced them all GOOD (Gen. 1:31), and He loves them all.
God has not forgotten any of His children in His great Plan and so for the next several chapters in this book of Ezekiel we as watchmen will be learning how our Father deals with them, individually yes, but even on a national basis. Much of that dealing has to do with correction and chastisement. The important thing is that we know and understand that He always deals with them lovingly! How do we know that?
Because
whom He loves He chastens. You see, that is one of the great and marvelous
wonders about this "Flesh Age". All of the
sons of God can and do receive correction and even experience physical death without
it killing the souls of those sons. (If you
are not familiar with the overall Plan of God then log unto
Live Link to->> "The
Plan of God".) It is just that many people don't realize that
one of the greatest aspects of love is the proper use of discipline and
chastisement. They are the tools of love that let your children know that
YOU LOVE THEM. That's right! Your children KNOW that you love them WHEN
you discipline them. And the reverse of that is true also. If you do not
discipline nor correct your children they will know that you DO NOT love
them.
This is important so we don't read God's Word concerning the chastisement of the nations and get the idea that our Father is a big "meanie". The purpose for all that is done unto them is for ONE PURPOSE and ONE PURPOSE ONLY, that they shall come to know that He alone is the LORD God who loves them. The wisdom is in knowing that all that our Father does and accomplishes is done in love, because He is love!Hebrews 12:6
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Sooooo, that is why the nations are chastised. Do you understand? He loves them and He wants them to come to the point where they love Him in return. That is what we are to understand every time we read His purpose for correction that is so very often written: "that ye (or they) shall know that I AM the LORD."1 John 4:16
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Do you know how many times that phrase was written concerning the plagues brought upon the Egyptians? Here's an example: Exodus 7:5 "And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them." He could have just "raptured" the children of Israel out of there if He would have wanted to... if He didn't love His Egyptian children too!
There seems to be one more area of confusion for some, and that is, "When will they know this? When will the people of the nations know that He is the LORD?" Obviously if He brings a nation against a people and causes them to be killed, they won't know that He is the LORD God who loves them while they are still alive in the flesh, will they?
Well, those people of the nations today "who possess wisdom" can read the history of their people and know. However, there are few of those in this or any other generation with enough knowledge and wisdom to SEE it. Most will know when they die and at such time when the King of kings comes and ALL the nations of this earth turn in their crowns to Him. It is called the Day of the Lord and the Day of Vengeance. THEN they shall know that the "I AM" is Lord (see vs. 17).
There is one other thing we can learn from what is written concerning the nations, and that is that whatever our Father has said regarding their future has and will come to pass exactly as it was and is written. SEEING this then increases our faith to know that when He says something or promises something to US, we can always count on it. That is one of the substances of faith that makes it possible for a person to live in this final generation without fears and without anxieties. That is one of the many benefits to being a "watchman" in this final generation.
With that background we now begin Ezekiel chapter 25.
The Ammonites are the descendents of Abraham's nephew Lot, by his youngest daughter. Lot of course was an Hebrew but he was obviously not one of Abraham's, grandson Jacob's, children and therefore not an Israelite. All Israelites are descendants of Jacob, Abraham's grandson, whose name was changed from Jacob to Israel by God. You see Abraham was a Hebrew, but only descendants of Jacob/Israel can be Lsraelites!You see Abraham was a Hebrew, but only descendants of Jacob/Israel can be Israelites!Ezekiel 25:1
The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,[2 ]Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;
Now, ONE, and only ONE, of the sons of Israel was named Judah. All Judahites are then Israelites. But the other 11 sons, though they are definitely Israelites, ARE NOT JUDAHITES, i.e. they are not, never have been, and never will be Jews! Only a person who is descended from Judah can be called a Jew, meaning racially a Judahite. The apostle Paul made it quite clear (twice) that he was a Benjamite (one of Jacob's 12 sons). Paul was NOT a Jew (Judahite)!
The majority of Israelites therefore are NOT of the tribe of Judah, who again was only one of twelve (1/12th) of the sons of Israel (Jacob).Romans 11:1
I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.Philip. 3:5
Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
When you discipline one of your children and one of his brothers sits over in the corner and goes "Na, na, na, na, na" and revels at his brother's punishment and tries to take advantage of the situation, that brother better watch out. He just put himself in line for a good whippin' himself.Ezekiel 25:3
And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;
And so it has come to pass. The "men of the east" were the Babylonians. Here's the marginal note from this verse in the Companion Bible, pg. 1141:[4] Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.
"Josephus (Ant. x. 9, 7) tells us that Nebuchadnezzar subdued the Ammonites and Moabites in the fifth year after the destruction of Jerusalem. Cp. Jer. 49;28."
Rabbah, which means "plenteous", was the capital of Ammon where the temple of Milchom was located. Our Father said He was going to turn their great city into a cow pasture! And so it has come to pass and the reason for this punishment is again given.[5] And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couchingplace for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
"Aha", you say, "because you were gleeful that my people got corrected. You stamped with your feet (which means to dance) and rejoiced with despite against the land of my people Israel."Ezekiel 25:6
For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;
Bend over His knee Ammonites, you gonna get paddled!
He did "stretch out His hand" upon them and today there is no great nation of Ammon. Descendants of Ammon are with us today but not as a great nation, because God destroyed their nation. Remember, it is ultimately for their own good![7] Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
Moab was also Lot's son and therefore Ammon's brother. The Moabites are also to be chastised for their hostilities to Israel and their evil doings, even their participation in the Molech worship of passing their children through the fire, a great abomination in the sight of the Lord.[8] Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the heathen;
The region of Moab was even richer than that of Ammon and is so called the "glory of the country". Yet check out the names of their cities, the "prides of Moab":Ezekiel 25:9
Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,
Beth-jashimoth = "House of desolations",
as in the abomination of desolation.
Baal-meon = "Baal's habitation".
The sign at the entrance to the city probably read: "Welcome to Baal-meon,
Home of the pagan god, Baal".
Kiriathaim = "Double City". Double
minded is more like it, trying to decide which god to worship.
And so it is, they are not remembered among the nations.[10] Unto the men of the east with the Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.
He loves the Moabites enough to chastise them.[11] And I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
Next we come to Edom, which means "red" and is the land of Esau, Jacob's brother.
It is not without great cause that our Father takes vengeance upon Edom.Ezekiel 25:12
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;
God said He would make it desolate from Teman in the south even to Dedan in the northwest, meaning from the Dead Sea to the Elanitic gulf of the Red Sea.[13] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.
Finally, this next verse and the three which follow, concern Russia and the kenites respectively.
You can also read of their prophesied destinies in Numbers 24:15-25.
The prophecy in Genesis 25:23 concerning Edom, where Esau the father of the Russia peoples dwelt, has come and continues to come to pass. Esau was the older brother of Jacob and Esau sold his birthright for a mere bowl of red pottage. Therefore it is written in Gen. 25 that "The elder shall serve the younger." And so it is.Ezekiel 25:14]
And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.
The word "Philistines" comes from a Hebrew root word meaning "rolling" or "migratory ones". Many "kenites", vagabonds (migratory ones), dwelt in the land of the Philistines. The "old hatred" goes all the way back to the beginning, to the garden of Eden, where God placed that "enmity" between the seed (children) of the serpent and seed (children) of the woman.[15] Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;
[16] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
Therefore, they will receive "furious rebukes" and because of that, "they shall know that He is LORD!"
Does God love the kenites? Yes, He does! And if they repent and turn to Him, He will take them into His fold and they will receive His blessings instead of His fury. We are fast approaching that Day of Vengeance, the return of the King of kings and Lord of lords, when all peoples of all nations shall know that the He alone is the LORD.[17] And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
What a glorious day that will be for those who now love and serve Him. What a horrendous day that will be for those who love and serve themselves and their gods of gold and silver and all that pretends to be of God and yet is contrary to His Word.
