You have heard the saying, "History repeats itself." Well, it is ever so true concerning the history in God's Word, for the history of our people, such as the sieges of Jerusalem that we are reading about, is actually prophecy in type, for as it is written in 1 Cor. 10:11, "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."
Therefore, those who do not study history, especially HIS-Story, are destined to suffer the consequences of its repetition. That is why it is so important to study His Word, ALL of it!
Chapter 11 of Ezekiel:
Looking eastward from the temple you will see the valley of Kedron and the Mount of Olives, where the great warning and deliverance of the 7 signs (seals) that would be present just before the second advent, were given by Jesus Christ Himself. Ezekiel sees 25 men at the door of the east gate, all having very Godly names.Ezekiel 11:1
Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD'S house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, the princes of the people.
These 25 men are called "princes of the people", i.e. elders and leaders of God's people. They should be teaching and upholding the laws and statutes and ordinances of the Lord GOD, even as the meaning of their names give them charge!
Hear, help, deliver, and build up My people!Jaazaniah = whom Yah hears
Azur = whom Yah helps
Pelatiah = whom Yah has delivered
Beniah = whom Yah has built
But no! These guys give out BAD ADVICE to God's people. They don't hear, they don't help, they don't deliver, and they tear down the outstretched saving arms of our Father. And yet the people listen to them because these elders have the NAMES, the credentials showing that they know what they are talking about, but obviously they don't. I guess you can't always go by a name or a title, can you? Be especially leery of a religious title.[2] Then said He unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:
For instance, a privately owned corporation could call itself "The Federal Reserve Bank", and people would think that it is part of the Federal Government, but it is not. A religious system or a church denomination could call itself "Christian", and people would think it is actually of God. Or a teacher of the traditions of a religion or church denomination could call himself (or herself) a "reverend" or Christian minister, and people would think he was actually ordained of God.
Remember the words of Christ on Mount Olivet:
They come claiming to be His representatives (Christian representatives), so be careful and always check out what you hear from any teacher, including this one, in the Word of God.Matthew 24:5
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
By the way, the word "mischief" in verse 2, is the Hebrew word "aven" which means "vanity" or better yet "nothingness". And so with their bad counsel and influence with the priests/ministers of God, the churches, the "Houses of God", which are called "Beth-els" in Hebrew, have become "Houses of Vanity", EMPTY churches void of His Word, i.e. "Beth-avens".
If the Word of God is not taught line by line and chapter by chapter in a church, then what good is that church?
Here is what these "I-know-better-than-God" leaders say:
They say to the people, "Let us build up Jerusalem and then this city, like an iron caldron, will protect us from all harm". They should be saying "The Lord is our shield and our might. Walk ye therefore in His ways." If they think that a fortified city will protect them, they are stupid elders indeed!Ezekiel 11:3
Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh.
Sorry, that is what God calls them in Jeremiah:
So Ezekiel, Mr. Watchman, go teach against their stupidity and say, "Listen here dudes and dudettes! Thus saith the Lord;"Jeremiah 4:22
For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish [stupid] children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
Tell them that God knows EXACTLY what they are doing in misleading the people into a false sense of security. There is nothing that can protect you except to trust in the Lord your God with all your heart. These guys would have surely advised Shadrach, Meshach and Abedneggo to put on asbestos underwear before being cast into the fiery furnace, instead of relying on God for their SALVATION!Ezekiel 11:4
Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.[5] And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them.
They give BAD COUNSEL and lead astray and cause spiritual slaughter among our people.[6] Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain.
Ezekiel 11:7"Therefore the Lord God says: You think this city is an iron shield? No it isn't! It will not protect you. Your slain will lie within it, but you will be dragged out and slaughtered." (Living Bible)
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it.
You have feared the enemy and war, because you have not trusted in Him. So with your trust in the power of the arm, the sword, you shall see how little strength you have when I bring a sword against you. "When it's you against the Lord, you lose!"[8] Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD.
The siege is coming. They will be carried away, for it is the judgment of Almighty God. And so it happened in history and so it will happen again in these last days (I speak of the siege by Satan, the false-christ, the soon coming king of Babylon).[9] And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
[10] Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
The king of Babylon has his sword, but the servants of the King of kings have the Sword of the Lord, His Word (Rev. 1:16).
Jerusalem becomes the "Whore", the city known in Revelation 17:5 as [musterion = religion], "MYSTERYBABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH", because it is there that the king of Babylon sets up world peace and prosperity and brings forth a false security and hope to the world as he claims to be Yeshua Messiah.[11] This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel:
And the whole House of Israel, NOT the land of Israel, but the Christian nations of the world, which are mostly made up of those lost tribes of the House of Israel who went north over the Caucasian mountains and settled in Europe and the British isles and then to the Americas, is taken captive, even captivated.
They claim they are saved.Ezekiel 11:12
And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you.
This is the group of do-gooder, church going, Hallelujah Praise God Christians we were just talking about! We're not knocking them, just identifying them. Many of them are our loved ones.Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Those are Christ's words, not mine!Matthew 7:23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Next we shall see what happens to one who is supposed to be "delivered by God", but gives bad advice to His children, even Pelatiah.
Sorry Pelatiah! No deliverance for you! He got His just recompense, didn't he? Always stick to "Thus saith the Lord" as did Ezekiel and He will never forsake you and your deliverance is sure.Ezekiel 11:13
And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?
Those "inhabitants" who have taken over the land as their possession, aren't all of the house of Israel. The kenites had mixed in among Judah and defiled the land. It is no wonder the tribes were scattered.[14] Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,[15] Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession.
But all is not hopeless, for our Father will not allow the abominations, nor the chief "abominator" to continue for much longer. The New Covenant was promised and ushered in to the exiles, and to the gentiles, and the restoration of all things has been promised.
Therefore it WILL come to pass.
Exekiel 11:16
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come.
Yes, though they've been gathered into the nations of true Israel, the largest being from sea to shining sea, and given the national blessings promised to Abraham's descendents, the promise of the final restoration is yet to be fulfilled.[17] Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.
All false worship and idolatry as well as the "great abomination", who is Satan the false-christ, will be taken away. Gone![18] And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence.
Don't you just love the King James Bible? The second half of this verse sounds so "fleshy", like surgery or something. Our Father is simply saying He will change their "hard heartedness" to a loving "tender heart".[19] And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
The final restoration is coming, the time to which we all look forward, when only the "Doers" of His Word will be here, and our Father will dwell with them forever more.[20] That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Everyone gets "just" compensation, for the Lord GOD is completely just and fair. You make your bed and you sleep in it. Just watch who you are crawling in bed with. Don't lose your virginity to someone who you "think" is your husband because the lights are turned off and you walk in darkness. Open His Word and turn on the light of truth, especially when you hear, "Come to me, honey!"Ezekiel 11:21
But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD.
Isn't it wonderful to be able to read this verse and actually understand, even Visualize in our minds, what is happening?[22] Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
The Royal Chariot of Israel, escorted by the Cherubim in their highly polished bronze vehicles, departed from the midst of the city and landed upon the Mount of Olives.[23] And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
It has traveled from the Holy of Holies to the Outer Court to the East Gate, and now to the great Mount of Olives across the Kedron Valley. It was from this same Mount of Olives that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven in Acts chapter 1, and as it is written in the Book of Zechariah, it will be this same Mount of Olives to which the King of kings and Lord of lords shall return on that great Day of the Lord.
Just imagine how awesome a sight all of this must have been for Ezekiel, the type and forerunner of the "watchmen", God's elect, in this final generation. Get ready to witness some awesome "spectaculars" yourself. You see, the Book of Ezekiel makes us "strong" in preparation for that which is about to befall a world spinning in ignorance and confusion and unaware of the coming siege by the king of Babylon when he is cast out of heaven to this earth (Rev. 12:7-9). They will think he is Jesus, but he will be, Satan, the "abomination who makes desolate" the souls of men.Zech. 14:4
And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
If you follow him, you're screwed!
Ezekiel is now returned to his people who are being held in captivity in Chaldea, which is Babylon.Ezekiel 11:24
Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.
Ezekiel did not keep the Words and the visions of the Lord to himself. Do you? He did as the Lord God has instructed His watchmen: "Speak therefore unto the people and say, 'Thus saith the Lord God'".[25] Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.
Now, having finished this study of chapter 11, we return to our people who are being held captive by religious confusion, the Babylon of these end times. You might also envision that we are standing at the door of the east gate looking towards the Mount of Olives.
