*The Hebrew the word "man" in this verse is not "adam" but rather "ish". Of course Eve knew and recognized from her instructions and experience of labor pains that giving birth was ordained of God.
Genesis 4:1
And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man* from the LORD.
Yes, Adam also "knew" his wife and she conceived to him also. She then bore "fraternal twins" to two different fathers. In other words, she bore Cain, who was the firstborn and the son (seed) of Satan, and then continuing in labor (next verse) she bore his brother Abel, the firstborn son of Adam.
Here is the Hebrew word for "again" which means to continue to do a thing. In Eve's case she "continued" to "bare", as in continued in labor, and gave birth to Cain's brother Abel:[2] And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
You see, Cain was NOT Adam's son. That may come as a shock to those who have listened to the traditions of men about "apples and snakes" for so long that the truth from God's Word sounds strange. Again, the truth about the "seed" in Eve's womb has been "hidden" from view, covered up by the "fig leaves" sewn together. Nevertheless, that is why you will NOT find Cain listed in Adam's genealogy in chapter 5 of Genesis. He was not Adam's son and so he has his own genealogy in chapter 4!again = óñ—éˆyaòsaphyaw-saf' H3254
A primitive root; to add or augment (often adverbially to continue to do a thing):— add, X again, X any more, X cease, X come more, + conceive again, continue, exceed, X further, X gather together, get more, give moreover, X henceforth, increase (more and more), join, X longer (bring, do, make, much, put), X (the, much, yet) more (and more), proceed (further), prolong, put, be [strong-] er, X yet, yield.
Do you know who the devil is? The devil is Satan, and he goes by many names. In Revelation12:9; "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world;" In the Garden of Eden Satan was called the "old serpent, and the tree of good and evil"
Jesus is telling these Kenites that there father is the devil, who is also called Satan, the dragon, or any of his other names that Satan has because of the roles he has played. Jesus is telling these Kenites that the lust, and murder in your heart is inborn from your father Satan, and you are driven in your spirit to do murder because Satan is your father.
This is what the Parable of the Tares in Mat. 13 concerning the "bad seed" is all about and although you may not quite understand it all at this point, before we conclude with our study of the Parable of the Fig Tree you should have a really good understanding of who they are, even today. By the way, if you take the time to study the two undeniably "separate" genealogies in Gen. 4 and Gen. 5 you will notice that the names of Cain's offspring in chapter 4 are very similar and in some cases the same as the names of Adam's offspring in chapter 5. Just make note of the fact that you cannot go by "names" alone in distinguishing a Cainite from an Adamite. Below is a simple chart comparing the similarity of some of the names:
|
|
Enoch | Enos |
Irad | Jared |
Mehujael | Mahalaleel |
Methusael | Methuselah |
Lamech | Lamech |
Even in the physical sense, to this very day the ground does not produce well for the sons of Cain and so they continue to live parasitically off the labors and production of others.Genesis 4:11
And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;[12] When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.
In our next study we shall briefly trace the sons of Cain through the Word of God and even "listen in" on a conversation between them and the Lord Jesus Christ. Hey, talk about a bunch of "snakes and vipers"! They are going to "lie through their lion's teeth" right to the face of Messiah! But don't worry! They cannot fool Him! Can they fool you? We shall see!
