The Book of
Isaiah
Chapter 30
What makes the United States of America the great and mighty nation that it is today?" The answer is... because "God Blesses America"! And He does so because of the unconditional covenant He made with Abraham and later confirmed in Isaac and Jacob that his seed (i.e. Abraham's children) would become as numerous as the sand of the sea and the stars of the sky and that they would possess the gates of their enemies while inheriting great national blessings in the latter days.
It is time to "wake up" America! It is time to return to our heritage and to the wise counsel of our Father's Word... for you see, we are the "people of the Book", making up the largest of the so-called 10 Lost Tribes of the House of Israel. And as His children we have a responsibility and duty to uphold the truth and justice of His Word and be that bright and shining City Upon a Hill, a beacon of freedom and hope in a darkening world.Genesis 22:17
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
So the question is, "In whom will you trust?" That is the subject of this study.
*Note: The history of our national motto can be found at the U.S. Treasury's website located at http://www.ustreas.gov/education/fact-sheets/currency/in-god-we-trust.html. Below is an excerpt from that history.Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
"The motto IN GOD WE TRUST was placed on United States coins largely because of the increased religious sentiment existing during the Civil War. Secretary of the Treasury Salmon P. Chase received many appeals from devout persons throughout the country, urging that the United States recognize the Deity on United States coins. From Treasury Department records, it appears that the first such appeal came in a letter dated November 13, 1861. It was written to Secretary Chase by Rev. M. R. Watkinson, Minister of the Gospel from Ridleyville, Pennsylvania, and read:It was then on July 30, 1956, that the President Dwight D. Eisenhower approved a Joint Resolution of the 84th Congress (P.L. 84-140) declaring IN GOD WE TRUST to be the national motto of the United States.Dear Sir: You are about to submit your annual report to the Congress respecting the affairs of the national finances. As a result, Secretary Chase instructed James Pollock, Director of the Mint at Philadelphia, to prepare a motto, in a letter dated November 20, 1861:One fact touching our currency has hitherto been seriously overlooked. I mean the recognition of the Almighty God in some form on our coins.
You are probably a Christian. What if our Republic were not shattered beyond reconstruction? Would not the antiquaries of succeeding centuries rightly reason from our past that we were a heathen nation? What I propose is that instead of the goddess of liberty we shall have next inside the 13 stars a ring inscribed with the words PERPETUAL UNION; within the ring the all seeing eye, crowned with a halo; beneath this eye the American flag, bearing in its field stars equal to the number of the States united; in the folds of the bars the words GOD, LIBERTY, LAW.
This would make a beautiful coin, to which no possible citizen could object. This would relieve us from the ignominy of heathenism. This would place us openly under the Divine protection we have personally claimed. From my heart I have felt our national shame in disowning God as not the least of our present national disasters.
To you first I address a subject that must be agitated.
Dear Sir: No nation can be strong except in the strength of God, or safe except in His defense. The trust of our people in God should be declared on our national coins. You will cause a device to be prepared without unnecessary delay with a motto expressing in the fewest and tersest words possible this national recognition." (End excerpt)
However, it seems today that many of our people, including many of our leaders, would rather put their trust in the cunning devices and fortresses of man and his New World Order rather than trust in and seek wise counsel from the LORD through His Word. Well, our Father has something to say about that in this 30th chapter of the great book of Isaiah, whose name remember means "Yahveh's Salvation". Thus saith the LORD:
You may recall that chapter 28 began a series or cycle of six "woes" that continues through to chapter 35 and verse 10. These woes not only correspond to the "burdens" or oracles we studied previously in Isaiah but they are presented to us in a structured alternation and contrasted with Yahveh's glories (see page 964 in the Companion Bible, Kregel Publications). The beauty in the Holy Spirit teaching us in this alternating fashion is that it enables us to more clearly "see" the remarkable differences between man's vain and futile ways that ultimately lead to destruction and death and our Father's perfect and righteous ways that bring peace and happiness and lead to eternal rest.Isaiah 30:1
Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
To begin with, a "rebellious" child is one who "turns away" from and will not listen to his or her parent. The Septuagint reads "Woe to the apostate children...", and so it is with the rebellious children of the House of Israel who have turned away (apostatized) from the wise counsel of their Father's Word, the Rock upon which this nation was founded, to follow after the vain and futile spirit of the false messiah, the man from Tyre (Ezk. 28), which means little "rock" in Hebrew. Of course this was all foretold of in the Song of Moses, the 32nd chapter of the Deuteronomy, the song that gives us an in-depth outline of this final generation. Here are a few verses from that song concerning our people today:
"Jeshurun" is a figurative name for Israel in her prosperity. And so it is when our people are prosperous and things are going well, i.e. they are fat and happy, it becomes easy for them to ignore God's Word, which is to forsake Him, and lightly esteem (disregard) the Rock of His salvation. That is why the time of "peace and prosperity" is the greater test of one's love for God and His Word than is the time of calamity. You can hang someone upside-down in a well and that person will quickly to turn to God and promise Him all sorts of things he (or she) will do if He just helps him out of his predicament! But give him a house and two cars and a nice well-paying job with all the frills and benefits and see what happens! To wit, the great tribulation of Satan in these last days IS a time of peace and prosperity, the time when our people are drawn away from the fountain of truth to follow after other gods... such as the gods of gold and silver and the security of big brother's systems.Deut. 32:15-16
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
By the way, the overcomers of the beast in this final generation, those who have the seal of God in their foreheads who trust and rely upon God and the truth of His Word, are found singing this Song of Moses in the 15th chapter of Revelation. Check it out for yourself. Now skip down to verse 28 in Deut. 32 where we find written the same thing we read in Isa. 30:1, that His people have become a nation void of the counsel of God... and therefore "rebellious children".[16] They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.
The "wise" in this final generation do understand this and they know full well (having considered) what the latter end brings upon our people, for the Word of God, even Jesus Christ, reveals all those things to those who seek His knowledge and wisdom and understanding. Mark 13:23 "But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things." It is also written in the 12th chapter of the book of Daniel concerning the fact that the "wise" in this final generation would understand:Deut. 32:28-32
For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.[29] O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
Even the prophet Daniel did not fully understand the visions he saw concerning the last days. He was commanded to write them down for our generation, the final generation, when the "wise" would both understand the visions and see them come to pass.Daniel 12:8-10
And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
You "see", all true wisdom comes from God, even from the Word of God. Unfortunately, through deception (aided by prosperity) and by being led to follow after the traditions of men, our generation has been slowly drawn away from the Word of God. As a result most of our people, though they still profess to be Christians, have become void of wisdom and understanding which makes them "unwise" Christians... as in the "foolish virgins" of Matthew 25:1-14. It is because they have forsaken and forgotten His Word that they no longer have the wisdom of our forefathers to know and understand that our strength comes from the Creator who endowed us with certain unalienable rights, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.[9] And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.[10] Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Let's continue with a few more verses in the Song of Moses before returning to Isaiah 30.
Have you not read the ensamples (1 Cor. 10:11) in your Father's Word to know that it doesn't matter how big and strong and Goliath-looking an enemy's army is?... because God has ALL POWER in both heaven and earth and He is able to deliver His people out of the hands of any size army! Therefore be careful in what "rock" you choose to place your trust for only the true Rock can deliver you, whereas the false rock will ultimately bring you shame!Deut. 32:30
How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold (delivered) them, and the LORD had shut them up?
There is a spiritual famine in the land, the one spoken of by Amos the prophet in vss. 8:11-13 of his book, and as a result a great spiritual desolation is taking place whereby not only the truth of God's Word, but all vestiges of our great Christian heritage along with prayer in schools, Ten Commandment monuments, small crosses on city seals, the "Under God" phrase in our Pledge of Allegiance, etc., are under attacked and they are slowly being stripped away and consumed by Satan's locust army! Remember Psalm 18:22 that our strength and power comes from the Lord who is our Rock. Know also that He has given us a choice (Deut. 28) to decide for ourselves whether or not to keep and obey His commands and that if we so choose not to hear His voice, then guess what? Our strength and power will be gone from us![31] For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.[32] For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:
There are those who seek to lead this nation who would turn over our national sovereignty to the New World Order and thus put our trust in the strength of foreign nations. They seek to make treaties and covenants and leagues with nations... but not according to His Spirit. If we continue to look to that which only the flesh eyes see to be our strength, then we will soon cease being "One Nation Under God" and will become "One Nation Under Anti-God", even "One Nation Under the Synagogue of Satan" and we will dwell under the shadow of that old box-cedar (te-ashur) of Ezekiel 31 (a word to the wise)!Deut. 32:36-37
For the LORD shall judge His people, and repent himself for his servants, when He seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.[37] And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,
[38] Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.
Consider now the historical type set forth for us concerning Judah's attempt to make an alliance with Egypt for protection. You may want to go back and review chapter 19 to refresh in your mind what will befall Egypt in the latter days. Remember also that Egypt is symbolic of the oppression and captivity of the New World Order in the latter days.
Again, "In Whom will you Trust?" Will you put your trust in God or the Egyptian League? Will you put your trust in the true Christ or follow after the Instead-of-Christ and his New World Order?Isaiah 30:2
That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
To help us with this, we have another ensample concerning Pharaoh given to us in Ezekiel chapter 31 where we find him likened unto Satan, "under whose shadow dwelt all great nations (Ezek. 31:6)"! In other words, if you put your trust in Satan, rather than the Lord, you will surely be ashamed when the Lord returns. Furthermore, those who would turn the sovereignty of this nation over to the New World Order shall become a disgrace. It is written, and so shall it come to pass![3] Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
"Zoan" means "place of departure" in Hebrew, even the place where our leaders have departed from the counsel of God to form alliances with other nations and place their trust in the counsel of Pharaoh. Zoan "in the time of Moses was the capital or court of Pharaoh, and the scene of the miracles (Ps. 78:12,43) and the seat of wisdom (19:11,13)" (see the Companion Bible, pg. 967). "Hane's" in Hebrew means "grace has fled", which is what appears to happen when children are rebellious! However, do not think for a moment that God has completely forsaken His people! God forbid. Read Romans chapter 11 and it will give you a good explanation concerning the purpose in His allowing the deception and spiritual desolation to take place in these last days. We will discuss His great purpose.[4] For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
The majority of our Christian brothers and sisters who are under that spirit of slumber spoken of in Rom. 11:8 will trust in and follow after the false-christ and they will surely appear (spiritually) naked and ashamed at the coming of the true Bridegroom for having place their trust elsewhere other than with God (Rev. 3:18, 16:15).[5] They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
This also applies both individually and nationally. An individual cannot buy peace and serenity because it is a result, not a commodity! The only way to achieve life, liberty, and pursue eternal happiness is by trusting and relying upon God. Do you? The New World Order certainly cannot supply your spiritual needs. Neither can preachers or ministers who take your money and give you nothing but milk in return. Your strength and power come from knowing and understanding Jesus Christ, the Word of God, who gives "you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19)". Without Him... your power is gone![6] The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
Likewise, neither can our ambassadors buy peace and safety among nations through bribery or by shelling out billions and billions of dollars each year to various nations and to the UN who profits us nothing! Oh, that method may appear to be working for awhile but it will ultimately end in futility for it is not God's way!
Do you understand that it is the LORD God who is "crying concerning this"? When He says "their strength is to sit still*" it means when push comes to shove, she sits still and does nothing. Some scholars translate this: "Therefore I call her Arrogance that sitteth still", or as Dr. Moffat translates it:[7] For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
This is fascinating because the "nation" being spoken of here (symbolized by Egypt), is the one world system, the uniting of the nations, also called the "beast" in Revelation 13:1. And it is none other than old "Dragon Do-nothing" himself who gives the beast its power."to a nation of no use to them, whose aid is vain and idle [[hence my name for it, 'Dragon Do-nothing']]! (The Bible, James Moffat Translation, Kregel Publications, pg. 778.)
When you put your faith and trust in man and the social/political/economic security systems of the New World Order, you are following right after the old dragon... which means you worship him! Think about it! And as far as "who is able to make war with him", the saints of the most high, called "bruisers (Chittim, see BDB)" in Daniel 11:30, are able to stand against him and they shall do just that!Rev. 13:4
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
*Note: The UN gave us a good visual ensample of "Arrogance that sits still and does nothing" with its 17 resolutions on Iraq prior to the Second Gulf War.
The next verse documents that what we have been reading in this 30th chapter of Isaiah is an ensample for the end time.
"For the time to come" means "for the latter day" and "for ever and ever" means "as a testimony (or witness) for ever". Dr. Bullinger correctly points out in the Companion Bible that this is a reference to the Pentateuch such as in Exodus 17:14 where "the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book...". To that end, we could say that God's Words are "written in Stone" for they shall come to pass exactly as they are written. You "see", our Father's Word, which is the same yesterday, today, and forever, IS a witness to the events that are happening and shall yet happen unto this generation. The question is, "Have you read it with understanding", i.e. with the purpose to understand what it actually says instead of trying to make it fit the preconceived traditions that have been impregnated in your mind from your childhood up? That is what the word "pre-conceived" means... to be pre (before hand) conceived (impregnated).Isaiah 30:8
Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
So how will it be in the latter days with our people? It will be just like the LORD said in the first verse of this 30th chapter of Isaiah and just as we read in the Song of Moses in Deut. 32:15. They will be rebellious children and will lightly esteem, they will disregard, the Rock of His salvation, even the Word of God. Thus saith the LORD again concerning the children of the latter days:
[9] That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:[10] Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
The problem is that the preachers and ministers of our day who claim to represent Christ, i.e. come in His name, do not teach the meat of His Word but rather teach our people to follow after the traditions of men. It is in that manner, by perpetuating Churchianity instead of teaching God's Word chapter by chapter and line by line, that the majority of Christians are deceived. So as we stated previously in our study, there is a "famine" in the land, just as Jesus Christ said there would be in the final generation (see Mat. 24:7, Mark 13:8). However that famine of these last days is not for bread, nor a thirst for water, but for the hearing of the words of the LORD. Amos clearly explains it to us:
The "spiritual famine" has come upon the land despite the fact that millions upon millions of Christians still go to church every Sunday. The problem is they don't go to hear "It is written" and "Thus saith the LORD" that sometimes convicts us and causes us to get back on the right path. They go to hear soothsaying promises of prosperity and doctrines of men that teach they need not study the Word of God to show themselves approved, as we are instructed to do in 2 Tim. 2:15, because they won't be here when the events foretold of in the books of the prophets and the book of Revelation take place. Instead, they are told that the Lord is going to come secretly for them and "rapture" them away. Unfortunately they are too unskilled in the Word of God to know that the any-moment rapture "theory" cannot be documented anywhere in the scriptures. You "see", although many have gone to church for decades and by now surely ought to be skilled in the Word, even to the degree they should be able to teach others, they are still spiritual babes for all they have ever been taught is salvation and baptism. Is it no wonder many cannot "discern good and evil" in this year of choice? The apostle Paul talks about this sad state of affairs in the book of Hebrews.Amos 8:11
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
The apostle Paul also makes it very clear in 2 Thes. 2 when our gathering back to Christ occurs... and that is AFTER the son of perdition, who is Satan and the false-christ, has come and reigned upon the earth claiming to be God. Check it out and "see" for yourself. Here's a study link to help you: #5146 The apostle Paul talked about the return of the Lord Jesus Christ in every chapter of his first letter to the Thessalonians.Hebrews 5:12-14
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.[13] For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
[14] But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
The point is that our people today, who are rebellious indeed, do not want to "hear the law of the Lord (Isa. 30:9)" directly from Him. And why not? Because of iniquity! Because of the hardening of their hearts to the traditions of men. Remember what happened at the giving of the Law in the days of Moses?
If our people To Day would open their ears and desire to hear His Voice, then they could enter into His rest and have peace of mind and serenity no matter what trial or tribulation comes their way.Exodus 20:19-20
And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.[20] And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that His fear [reverence] may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
His voice is His Word! How often do you "hear His voice"?Hebrews 4:7
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts...
The ensample shows that many did not enter into the promised land... because of their unbelief.[11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
So which will it be for you? Would you rather hear and take the counsel of Almighty God through His Word, and place your trust in Him, or would you rather listen to the smooth words of preachers who say non-offensive soothing things to your ears? Here is what the rebellious and apostate children of this generation desire from the "seers", i.e. from their preachers, etc.[12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Yes, the people just love to the hear the words of men who wax eloquent in speech but never quite get around to teaching what God's Word says. Read Ezekiel 13:1-9 and see what the LORD has to say concerning preachers who "teach out of their own hearts (minds)" instead of teaching that which is written after the manner of "Thus saith the LORD" and "It is written".Isaiah 30:10
Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
They declare this by their very actions which speak much louder than words! And so it is quickly coming to pass that the Holy One of Israel is being removed from our midst and a false, abominable rock is being put in His place. Our people are being drawn away more and more from the fountain of truth and the path of righteousness (i.e. doing what is right) to follow after old Dragon-do-nothing who shall lead many down the primrose path to his pit![11] Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
God shall allow this iniquity to abound until sudden destruction comes upon them, like the high wall of a dam that strains to hold back the pressure of swelling waters until it can no longer contain... and then suddenly it cracks and bursts and the waters gush forth as the high wall comes tumbling down![12] Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression [fraud] and perverseness, and stay thereon:[13] Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
You "see", God is to be our "wall of protection". In fact the great Book of Nehemiah is all about the building of that "wall". (See also Zech. 2:5). Therefore if you do not have the Word of God as your foundation and your wall of protection, but instead you rely on men's traditions and the phony walls of "peace and safety" they build up in the minds of our Christian brothers and sisters (like the fly-away doctrine we referred to earlier), then your wall is going to come crashing down. It is written and so shall it come to pass. Read what God has to say about those false prophets who build up phony walls of protection and call it the right path to salvation:
Untempered mortar is "whitewash". These preachers keep painting the same facade over and over again.Ezekiel 13:10-16
Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter:
This is precisely what we just read in Isaiah 30:13. That in which they place their trust, be it the doctrines and traditions of men or the army of the New World Order, is no protection at all... for it is IN GOD WE MUST TRUST both individually and nationally. You "see", there in no one else who can deliver you from bondage or out of the hand of the enemy or from the penalty of death. Hosea 13:4 "Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me."[11] Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.[12] Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?
[13] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.
[14] So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
When our Father has "had it up here" with the iniquity of His people... then WOE to the rebellious children when He pours out His wrath upon them! As it is written... He WILL accomplish His wrath upon the phony wall! So the question is, "Who is your "wall" of protection?" Have you been listening to the "smooth things" of Isaiah 30:10 spoken by the deceitful prophesiers or have you been listening to the voice of God through His Word?[15] Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;
Let's return to Isaiah 30 and see how completely God is going to break that high wall.
Wow! Now that is a complete and utter pulverization of the wall, so complete that there won't be anything left but ashes in "the hearth"! (Do you remember that the hearth is Ariel?) It will be like a potter's vessel so completely shattered that there won't be a piece of the pottery left that is big enough to draw a thimbleful of water out of a well.Isaiah 30:14
And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
Or as Jesus Christ told His disciples in Mark 13:2 concerning the false temple in these last days, "...there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."
Again, our Father has given us a choice as to where and in whom we place our trust. And it is His desire that His children come out of Babylon, which is to say confusion, and return to Him, otherwise they will become recipients of the wrath He pours out upon symbolic Egypt in these last days, i.e. the One World System known today as the New World Order. And He WILL accomplish His wrath upon her! Rev. 18:4-5 "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. [5] For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities."thrown down, kataluo, kat-al-oo'-o, Greek 2647; from Greek 2596 (kata) and Greek 3089 (luo); to loosen down (disintegrate), i.e. (by implication) to demolish (literal or figurative); specially [compare Greek 2646 (kataluma)] to halt for the night :- destroy, dissolve, be guest, lodge, come to nought, overthrow, throw down.
As we read in earlier Hebrews 4, you can enter into His "rest" which is the quietness of your spirit through His, i.e. peace of mind, if To Day you will harden not your heart (mind), as in open your mind and ears and hear His voice. Return to Him with confidence, which is the "faith" to trust and rely upon the Rock of His salvation who IS our strength! That is our Father's heartfelt desire for His children... 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."[15] For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
How does one "repent" and return to Him? Let's "hear" the great teacher and prophet Hosea answer that question. Thus saith the LORD through His servant Hosea whose name means "salvation":
The Good News is that His children can return unto Him now, TO DAY, before the dam breaks and it is too late. Here is how to do it:Hosea 14:1-3
O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
Take the words which He supplied, i.e. His Word, and go to Him and say unto Him, "Take away all iniquity and receive us O' Gracious One (as it should read)". If you do, He promises in verse 4 to heal you, spiritually, which is to take away your iniquity thereby cleansing you! Is this not the same thing John says in 1 John 1:9: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."[2] Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto Him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
Then promise to praise Him with your lips instead of kissing the "golden calves" of men's traditions. Here are three "bulls" to get rid of:
The "fatherless" are the orphaned children of Israel, those who have forsaken His Word and therefore lost their way. Their "seers" have drawn them off of the right path that leads them back home to their Father![3] Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.1. The Assyrian, representing the false messiah, old Dragon-do-nothing, cannot "save you" in any way, shape, or form, neither nationally nor individually, neither physically nor spiritually. Remember Hosea 13:4 ..."There is no Savior beside me!"2. The reference to "ride upon horses" is a from to Deut. 17:16 meaning do not trust in man's armies for deliverance, even those four horses of Rev. 6, the Four Hidden Dynasties of Religion, Politics, Economics, and Education.
3. Recognize and get rid of "man made" religion and traditions which much of churchianity has become. The traditions of men are pure "apostasy" and will lead millions of our brothers and sisters to worship Satan, the spurious Jesus! So "Take His (God's) Words!", not man's (vs. 2), and go to Him!
The point is, if you think you can find peace of mind and happiness in the things of this world and so put your trust and reliance upon those four earthly powers of Revelation 6 to bring you economic security and safety and even salvation, then you are in grave spiritual trouble indeed, because those horses will pursue you and ride roughshod over you till you are buried in the ground... for you will be without a wall to protect you and powerless to prevent it!Isaiah 30:16
But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
Did you know that all the things that shall come upon this final generation of the fig tree were foretold of long ago in our Father's Word? Jesus Christ said so Himself in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 when His disciples came to Him and asked Him when would these things take place and what events would transpire just prior to His return: "But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things (Mark 13:23)." The fact is that the majority of prophecy contained in the Bible pertains to these last days, the time when the one third of God's children who were drawn away in the first earth age (Rev. 12:4) would face the abomination of desolation, the false messiah, aka Satan, the "instead-of-Christ". That is why, for instance, the prophet Daniel to whom Christ referred us when speaking of the abominable-one-to-come in Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14, was told to close up and seal the book because the words he wrote were written for the time of the end, the last days when they would be understood by the wise. Who are the "wise"? They are those wise virgins (Christians awaiting the Bridegroom) of Matthew 25 who fill their lamps with the oil of His truth, meaning they study God's Word to seek His rich wisdom and understanding.
We also learned that Isaiah, whose name remember means "Yahveh's salvation", was also told to write down his words for the time to come as a memorial, a witness for ever and ever to the fact that our Father has both warned and instructed His children not only as to what would befall them in this final generation but how they can have serenity and peace of mind in troubled times by turning to Him and trusting in His Word .Daniel 12:4
But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.Daniel 12:9-10
And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.[10] Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
"For the time to come" means "for the latter day" and "for ever and ever" means "as a testimony (or witness) for ever". Dr. Bullinger correctly points out in the Companion Bible that this is a reference to the Pentateuch, such as in Exodus 17:14 where "the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book...". To that end, we could say that God's Words is "written in Stone" for it always has and shall continue to come to pass exactly as it is written. You "see", our Father's Word which is the same yesterday, today, and forever, IS a witness to the events that are happening and shall yet happen in this generation. The question is, "Have you read it with understanding", i.e. with the purpose to "hear His voice" to understand what He actually says instead of trying to make His Word fit the preconceived notions and traditions that have been impregnated in your mind from your childhood up? That is what the word "pre-conceived" means... to be pre (before hand) conceived (impregnated).Isaiah 30:8
Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
Unfortunately, the majority of God's children pretty much ignore His Word altogether and therefore they are "rebellious children" because they have forsaken His covenant and "lightly esteem the Rock of His salvation (Deut. 32:15)". In other words, they simply do not listen to their Father nor do they do what He says (see John 14:15, 21)! Therefore they are "unwise" and have none understanding and know not that God has foretold them He shall send the Assyrian (symbolic of the false-christ, Satan) upon the land as a rod of correction against them... to tread them down for to chastise them. Oh that they did not have to suffer this adversity and affliction... but it is for their own good because their Father dearly loves them and desires that they repent (2 Pet.3:9) and turn to Him and to His Word. And when they do, He showers them with His grace and pours out His blessings upon them! (Rev. 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."
Now before we return to Isaiah 30, let us turn back briefly to chapter 10 of this great book of Isaiah and refresh our memories with the documentation that God will send the Assyrian against His people as His "rod" of correction.
How complete will the spiritual desolation be when God sends the Assyrian upon the land, that abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet? The answer to that question is where we continue this study in chapter 30.Isaiah 10:5-6
O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.[6] I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
"Till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain" and to be left "as an ensign on an hill" are expressions of lone desolation, meaning that God is going to allow the desolation to take place till His people are spiritually stripped bare and standing all alone like a bare tree on the top of a mountain or like the lone mast of ship sticking up out of the water after a shipwreck. You "see", unless a person to turns to God, to His Word, and becomes filled with His spirit, he or she will become nothing but a piece of dead wood (spiritually speaking). He or she will become as an old burned out carcass just waiting for Satan's "dirty birds" to prey upon. We can find that written in both the Old and the New Testaments.Isaiah 30:17
One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.
Again, Christ has foretold us all things and He warned us about the false messiah (of whom the Assyrian was a type) and his false prophets who would come and prey upon and feast upon the spiritually dead carcasses, even the spiritually dead dry bones which our people have become (Ezk. 37). And you know what else? No man will be able to save or deliver them from Satan and his vultures... because there is only One who can deliver them, even Jesus Christ! Here is Christ's warning concerning the false messiah to come:Deut. 28:25-26
The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.[26] And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
GREAT spiritual deception is coming (and even now is taking place) when the false messiah (pseudochristos) shows forth his great signs and wonders unleashing his Weapons of Mass Deception. And if you don't think he has Weapons of Mass Desolation, you are sorely deceived already! Again, it SHALL happen just as God's Word foretells us. Paul speaks of the strong deception to befall our people in 2 Thes. 2:11 "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." It is written and so shall it be.Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders;in so much that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Again, He told us way back in Deuteronomy and in Daniel and in Isaiah and in many other places in both the Old and New Testaments.Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.
The whole world is going to believe the LIE that Jesus Christ has returned when the abomination of desolation comes and stands in the holy place claiming to be God and shows forth the great signs and wonders we just read of in verse 24. Paul again warns about this in 2 Thes. 2:3-4, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day [i.e. the day of Christ's return] shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; [4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself [to the world] that he is God."Mat 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert;go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers;believe it not.
When the true Christ returns all you will see is a flash of light (the brilliance of His coming) and this flesh age will be over instantaneously, in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor. 15:50-52). That means if you are still in the flesh... Christ HAS NOT returned! So do not be deceived and believe what man tells you lest you become preyed upon and gathered together with the rest of the deadwood and taken to the wrong wedding by Satan's vultures!Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west;so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Nevertheless and as we stated earlier, our Father has a purpose for allowing the spiritual desolation to take place. The good news is that He is patient and longsuffering and He will wait for you... as in wait until you have had enough!Mat 24:28 For where so ever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Beloved, the LORD is patient and longsuffering because He loves His children and as it is written, it is His heartfelt desire that NONE of His children perish but that ALL come to repentance and turn (return) unto Him. 2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." For that very reason, i.e. because He loves His children and wants ALL (whosoever will) to come to repentance, the Lord has evened shortened the defacto reign of Satan (Rev. 9:4) to allow more time for His elect to bring forth the precious truth of His Word to their brothers and sisters. Will you turn to Him and trust in Him or will you be among the multitudes who "worship the beast" by putting their trust in the false security of the blasphemous New World Order as they are drawn away from God's Word to embrace all that that beastly system provides in the way of benefits and entitlements.Isaiah 30:18
And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
You "see", there are two types of people: (1) the man who trusts in man and the things of this world he can see with his flesh eyes, and (2) the man who trusts in the LORD. The former shall be cursed and become as a "dry bone" in the desert wilderness of Ezek. 37. The latter shall be blessed and become a fruitful tree! Jeremiah explains these two types very eloquently:
Type (1)
Even though many of our people profess Christ and cry "Lord, Lord" with their lips, their hearts (which is to say their "minds") are far removed from Him. How can that be? Because they are Biblically illiterate! They have been "drawn away" from the bread of life and removed from the living water (His Word) and therefore they do NOT know the Lord. For to truly know the LORD is to know His Word. Remember we discussed this at length in Isaiah 29? Isaiah 29:13 "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart [mind] far from me, and their fear [reverence] toward me is taught by the precept of men:". All they know are the traditions of men taught by the churches and because of the peace and prosperity of these last days they cannot "see" their spiritual condition and how "dry and destitute" they really are. Rev. 3:17 "Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:".Jeremiah 17:5-8
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
"The heath in the desert" means a "naked or destitute tree" standing alone in the parched dry desert, a tree who has no hope for the future because it has no "living water" by which it can thrive or even survive. Hopefully the spiritual parallel is obvious to you for this example is the exact opposite of the lush green tree in verse 8 below.[6] For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
Type (2)
God's elect do not participate in the spiritual famine and drought of these last days and thus they are not "careful" in the year of the drought, which means they're not "anxious nor afraid" when things become exceedingly hot (spiritually speaking) in these last days (See Amos 8:11-13).[7] Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.[8] For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
And while we are on the subject of "dead" trees as opposed to "green" trees, remember that Christ taught us in Matthew 7 how that a good TREE produces good fruit, but a corrupt TREE brings forth evil fruit. The question then is, "From whom do you get your fruit... from the Tree of Life or from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?" If you do not study your Father's Word the answer is made manifest, even made obvious, and you are in spiritual jeopardy of becoming a piece of deadwood and following the corrupt Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, i.e. Satan the son who is sentenced to perish (hence called the son of perdition), into the lake of fire at the end of the Millennium.
Did you know our Father even likens Himself to a green (living) fir (evergreen, eternal) tree?Matthew 7:17-19
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. [18] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. [19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
How "wise" are you? Do you follow after the religious traditions of men or do you follow Christ, the Living Word of God?Hosea 14:8-9
Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
So the point of Isaiah 30:18 begs the question, "Will you be one who waits for the LORD" and thus be one who is "blessed" or will you follow after the false messiah and the things of this world and wind up spiritually dead as one who is slain by the spiritual sword of the Assyrian? In fact you could ask yourself right now, "How are you doing? Are you a lively tree or a piece of deadwood? Do you produce fruit or are you a spiritual burden to others?"[9] Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.
Although this speaks of the time of the Millennium, the good news is that To Day, if you will turn to Him and seek Him and open the Word to hear His voice instead of stubbornly hardening your heart (mind) to the traditions of men, then He will turn unto you and pour out His blessings upon you.Isaiah 30:19
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: He will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when He shall hear it, He will answer thee.
Of course there is going to be adversity because we have an adversary and as it is written concerning these last days, there shall be great tribulation (affliction) such as never was since the foundation of this earth age (Matthew 24:21 "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.") See also Dan. 12:1.[20] And though* the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
However, if Jesus Christ is your Teacher then you are never alone and you will always be able to "clearly see" the correct path to follow. It is by going to Christ and allowing the Word of God to anoint your eyes that you come to know the difference between the Holy and the profane, between the Tree of Life that bears good fruit and leads to life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil whose fruit leads to death!
Mark 8:22-25
And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto Him, and besought Him to touch him.
One of the first things a man or woman "sees" when touched by the Word of God are the two trees in garden, the true Christ and the false Christ! The rest are blinded according to Romans 11 and cannot discern the difference between the two Christs! Romans 11:7-8 "What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded [8] (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day."[23] And He took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when He had spit on his eyes, and put His hands upon him, He asked him if he saw ought.[24] And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
By the way, Dr. Moffat translates Isaiah 30:20 as follows:[25] After that He put His hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
Of course during the Millennium, if your Father has to wait that long for you, the "teaching" of His Word shall go forth into ALL the world and all His children WILL BE taught the difference between the two trees, between the Holy One and the profane one! Ezekiel 44:23-24 "And they [God's elect] shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean. [24] And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths."Isaiah 30:20
Though scant and scarce may be your bread and water from the Lord, yet he your Teacher never leaves you now; you see your Teacher for yourselves, [21] and when you swerve to right or left, you hear a Voice behind you whispering, "This is the way, walk here." (Moffatt Bible)
Note: Words that are italicized in the King James Bible are words that are not found in the manuscripts and thus were added by the translators. However, sometimes as in the case of the word "though" in verse 20, it is erroneously added for there are no ifs, ands, or buts regarding the written fact that God SHALL SEND the adversary, the Assyrian, i.e. Satan in these last days. Are you mentally and spiritually prepared for it? Most of our people and our loved ones are not.
The Word of God is the straight and narrow path. You can either listen to your Teacher now and walk in His way and be blessed or you can suffer the rod of correction and become "deadwood" and thus be taught in the Millennium by God's elect.[21] And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
We read this same thing concerning the casting away of idols in Hosea 14:8.[22] Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
Note that Ephraim was the largest of the tribes of Israel and as such is used figuratively to represent the whole House of Israel, much as America today is the leading nation and is often used to represent the free world, i.e. the Christians nations of the world.Hosea 14:8-9
Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
As for idols, they are the things you follow after, even those things that are foremost in your mind! Do you have the Word of God sealed in the forefront of your mind, i.e. in your forehead (Rev. 9:4), or are you busy thinking about the cares of this world and the false social/economic security of the New World Order?
How would you like to be truly rich? No, not with the things of this world that shall perish, but with the rich blessings that produce peace of mind and serenity and joy and happiness even during the worst of times? Turn to your Father's Word and He shall pour out His blessings upon you in such abundance that your cup will indeed overflow!
Yes, this ultimately speaks of the time of the Millennium but dear ones, He gives us the precious rain now if we will but open our eyes and ears and hear His Voice! He has stated clearly that He doesn't want our burnt offerings and sacrifices. He wants us to embrace Him and love Him! Is that not your heart's desire concerning your children? Your children can bring you gifts all day long, but if you know they do not love you... you hurt... and the gifts don't help one bit!Isaiah 30:23
Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
Those who truly love and serve Him are already blessed and again, they do not participate in the famine of these last days which is defined by Amos in chapter 8 verse 11 of his book: Amos 8:11 "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD." And though they labor in the field and in the vineyard, God's servants have an overwhelming abundance of the true Bread of life and they drink daily from the fountain of Living Water. Therefore they produce much fruit for the kingdom of God (Matt. 20:1-16).Hosea 6:3
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.Hosea 6:6
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
This figure of speech illustrates how PURE the feeding of the Word of God truly is and shall be... so pure in fact that during the Millennium everyone shall eat the winnowed grain, which is to say the heart of grain, as in the pure Bread of Life. So shall it be in that day that His truth and justice shall flow like mighty rivers from beneath His throne in Jerusalem throughout the whole world and unto all nations (mountains, i.e. civilly) and places of worship (high hills, i.e. ecclesiastically).Isaiah 30:24
The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
Modern man's tower of Babel in these last days, i.e. his attempt to secure his own peace and security (salvation) apart from God, known as Babylon the great, is going to come crashing down at the sound of the 7th Trump when Jesus Christ returns. You can read all about her demise in the 18th chapter of Revelation. Rev. 18:2 "And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." The destruction of this false temple by our Rock, that "stone cut out without hands" in Daniel 2:24, i.e. Jesus Christ, will be so complete that as He said in Luke 21:6, there shall not be one "stone" upon another that shall be thrown down (pulverized).[25] And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
"Seven" in biblical numerics denotes spiritual completeness and just as Satan's unholy New World Order has seven heads in Rev. 13:1, meaning it covers the whole (complete) earth in these last days, so shall the glorious "brightness of Christ's coming" encompass the whole earth! And not only shall the whole earth be filled with the light of His glory, the very brightness of His coming shall destroy all that is wicked (2 Thes. 2:8) and consume away the evil rudiments that form the basis of liberalism, socialism, and communism.[26] Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
God IS a consuming fire! Deut. 4:24 "For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God." Hebrews 12:29 "For our God is a consuming fire." It is easy to understand how His tongue (of truth) consumes as a devouring fire in that we have recently seen truth "burn" some major liars in the main stream media!2 Peter 3:10Isaiah 30:27
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements* shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.*elements, stoicheion, stoy-khi'-on, Greek 4747; neuter of a presumed derivative of the base of Greek 4748 (stoicheo); something orderly in arrangement, i.e. (by implication) a serial (basal, fundamental, initial) constituent (literal), proposition (figurative) :- element, principle, rudiment.
Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
Nevertheless, when Jesus Christ returns, His truth, His spirit, shall overflow the earth and cleanse this wicked age of all that offends and is iniquitous as He delivers His people out of bondage and out of the hand of the Assyrian. It is written and so shall it be! What a glorious day it will be for those who love and serve God. What a day of darkness and gloominess with weeping and wailing of gnashing of teeth it will be for those that despise His truth!
The word "breath" in Hebrew is "ruach", as in the wind, which is symbolic of God's Spirit! You "see", God is going to deliver His people and He shall "sift the nations till they are undone, to men with a halter to their doom (Moffatt)" as He causes them to (know) their err![28] And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.
What shall be the result when God's people "see" the hand of their heavenly Father deliver them from the hand of the Assyrian? There shall be gladness and rejoicing as in the keeping of the feasts of the LORD!
Then shall they desire to hear His Voice.[29] Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
Remember from the days of old that the people did not want to "hear His thundering voice" from the mountain of God! Exodus 20:18-19 "And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. [19] And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die."[30] And the LORD shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
Well, the steam, the breath (ruach) is beginning to build and "the mountain that sends forth light", which by the way is what "Mount St. Helens" means, is beginning to rumble, and it shall be this final generation of the fig tree that was planted on May 15th, in the year of our Lord Nineteen Hundred Forty Eight, that sees "all these things" Christ foretold us of in Mat. 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21, come to pass, even the return of Jesus Christ when "the LORD shall CAUSE His glorious voice to be heard" and all nations and peoples shall hear His Voice. It is written and so shall it come to pass!
Yes, the brightness of Lord, as bright as the sun in his full strength and whose tongue is a sharp twoedged sword (Rev. 1:16, 19:15), shall beat down the Assyrian, Satan, the false messiah! And the Lord shall reign for a thousand years (Rev. 24:4, 6) with a rod of iron carried by His kings and priests, those saints of the Most High God.[31] For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.
The heavens and earth shall be shaken and there shall be a great battle when the King of Kings and Lord of Lords returns to this earth to bring judgment (justice) and make war! But there shall be NO CONTEST because we already have the victory and as it is written in Isaiah 45:23, Philip. 2:10, and Romans 14:11, in that day every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess to God![32] And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
And as Isaiah 30:32 just informed us, wherever "the grounded staff shall pass", i.e. wherever the rod of the Assyrian passed over and spread his abominations, the LORD shall lay His swift sword to him and the land shall thus be filled with the joy and the Glory of the Lord. Again, we have the victory in Christ and His Word shall prevail in the great spiritual battle at the end of this age! In that day, as it is written in Rev. 20:3, Satan shall be bound for a thousand years (Rev. 20:3) and then released for a short season (to test the people) before being cast into the lake of fire prepared and ordained for him before the foundation of this earth age.Rev. 19:11-12
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. [12] His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He himself. [13] And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. [14] And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. [15] And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. [16] And He hath on his vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Tophet means a funeral pyre or place of cremation! The Lake of Fire, of which Tophet like gehenna is a type, was ordained (pre-ordained) of old, even from the first earth age, for Satan, the false king, even the king of Tyre spoken of in Ezekiel 28.Isaiah 30:33
For Tophet* is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
Tophteh, tof-teh', Hebrew 8613; probably a form of Hebrew 8612 (Topheth); Tophteh, a place of cremation :- Tophet.
All those who remain deadwood at the end of the Millennium shall also perish along with Satan in the place reserved for him, i.e. in Tophet, the lake of fire. Rev. 20:15 "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Isn't that also what is written in John 3:16?Ezekiel 28:18-19
Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. [19] All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
"Apollumi" is the base of Satan's name in Rev. 9:11 where this "king" of Isaiah 30:33, i.e. Satan, is called "Apollyon". Check it out for yourself.John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.perish, apollumi, ap-ol'-loo-mee, Greek 622; from Greek 575 (apo) and the base of Greek 3639 (olethros); to destroy fully (reflexive to perish, or lose), literal or figurative :- destroy, die, lose, mar, perish.
Finally, let us repeat Isaiah 30:33 to note that the "breath of the LORD", like a stream (torrent) of brimstone, kindles that funeral pyre, that fire from within a "dead tree" (Ezek. 28:18)!
And so it shall come to pass at the end of the Millennium following the Great White Throne Judgment, that Almighty God shall speak and "just like that" the wicked shall perish by His breath, by that "consuming fire (Heb. 12:29)", and NEVER SHALL THEY BE ANY MORE!Isaiah 30:33
For Tophet* is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.breath, neshamah, nesh-aw-maw', Hebrew 5397; from Hebrew 5395 (nasham); a puff, i.e. wind, angry or vital breath, divine inspiration, intellect, or (concrete) an animal :- blast, (that) breath (-eth), inspiration, soul, spirit.
