The Book of
Isaiah
Chapter 8
Did you know that it has been demonstrated time and again that people remember infinitely more of what they SEE than what they read or hear? Well, if you want to know the plan our Father has put in place to bring about the salvation of His children, then you have come to the right place... the book of Isaiah whose name means "The Salvation of Yahveh". You "see", as it is written in Mark 13:23, Jesus Christ has "foretold us all things" and to that end He has made our understanding of His purpose and His plan very simple by giving us concrete ensamples and signs and wonders that we can clearly see in our mind's eye. Furthermore, those ensamples and signs and wonders are written in His Word in such a manner that it is available for the common folk of our day, in this the final generation, to read and understand, meaning that one does not have to be highly educated nor have a doctorate degree nor have attended a seminary college. All one has to do is acquire some basic study tools to start with, like a King James Bible and a Strong's Concordance, and have the desire to "hear His voice", which is to hunger and thirst after His Word regardless of what the churches or the many preachers who hold fast to the traditions of men teach.
So let us continue with the simplicity of the marvelous teaching here in Isaiah chapter eight that begins by documenting what we just said, i.e. that His Word is written for all to "see" and "hear" and those who teach His Word are to bring forth that simplicity with clarity. Always remember that God is not the author of confusion (1 Cor. 14:33), so if you do not understand something that is being taught, it is most likely not your fault but rather the teacher's fault. That does not mean that you will understand everything right away, but as you build a foundation upon the Rock, His Word will begin to neatly and fitly join and weave together in such a manner that you will be amazed how simple it truly is! You will also marvel how you could have been so completely in the dark, which is to be blinded by the "pre-conceived" doctrines and traditions of men, concerning that which is so plainly and clearly written!
Isaiah 8:1Isaiah was instructed to take a great roll which is a great big writing tablet and write on it using a commoner's pen, meaning in language that plain ordinary folks can understand. Again, that means that you won't need a PhD, a ThD, or any other of man's degrees to understand what God would have you to know through His prophet. Also take heed to the fact that Isaiah was to write concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz, which in English would be "Haste (to the) spoil, speed (to the) prey". This is to be a sign to the people, even to you and me, telling them (us) of "the Assyrian hasting to make a prey and spoil of the nation, and revealing the need of the salvation of Yahveh" (see appendix 103 in the Companion Bible, pg. 148). Remember that the events of HIStory such as the Assyrian invasion happened as ensamples and were written for us in these last days (1 Cor. 10:11)! And so it is that we are reading about the prophetic type of the Assyrian, who is none other than Satan himself who will come swiftly with his locust army in the last days and cause much spiritual desolation upon the land.
Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
Here are the definitions of the individual words used in this compound name, Maher-shalal-hash-baz:Maher Shalal Cha*sh Baz, mah-hare' shaw-lawl' khawsh baz, Hebrew 4122; from Hebrew 4118 (maher) and Hebrew 7998 (shalal) and Hebrew 2363 (chuwsh) and Hebrew 957 (baz); hasting (is he [the enemy] to the) booty, swift (to the) prey; Maher-Shalal-Chash-Baz; the symbolic name of the son of Isaiah :- Maher-shalal-hash-baz.
Again, Maher-shalal-hash-baz "tells of the Assyrian hasting to make a prey and spoil of the nation, and reveals the need of the salvation of Yahveh". It is the plan of our Father and so shall it be.maher, mah-hare', Hebrew 4118; from Hebrew 4116 (mahar); properly hurrying; hence (adverb) in a hurry :- hasteth, hastily, at once, quickly, soon, speedily, suddenly.shalal, shaw-lawl', Hebrew 7998; from Hebrew 7997 (shalal); booty :- prey, spoil.
chuwsh, koosh, Hebrew 2363; a primitive root; to hurry; figurative to be eager with excitement or enjoyment :- (make) haste (-n), ready.
baz, baz, Hebrew 957; from Hebrew 962 (bazaz); plunder :- booty, prey, spoil (-ed).
[2] And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.Simply take your Strong's Concordance and look up the meanings of the names of these two witnesses of Isaiah ("the salvation of Yah") and you will gain a deeper level of understanding.
We noted in our last study that we would be given four sons, even five for Isaiah himself was a sign of the salvation of Yahveh, who would be for signs and wonders in that they sum up the story of His plan. Verse 18 below documents for us that these children are signs and wonders from the LORD of hosts for His people, even and especially for His people in this final generation: Isaiah 8:18 "Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion." If you have not done so, take the time to read appendix 103 in the back of the Companion Bible or click on the following link where you can read it online: http://www.angelfire.com/nv/TheOliveBranch/append103.html. Here is an excerpt from that appendix showing the structure and the simplicity of the signs and wonders.[3] And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.'Uwriyah, oo-ree-yaw', Hebrew 223; or (prolonged) 'Uwriyahuw, oo-ree-yaw'-hoo; from Hebrew 217 ('uwr) and Hebrew 3050 (Yahh); flame of Jah; Urijah, the name of one Hittite and five Israelites. :- Uriah, Urijah.Zekaryah, zek-ar-yaw', Hebrew 2148; or Zekaryahuw, zek-ar-yaw'-hoo; from Hebrew 2142 (zakar) and Hebrew 3050 (Yahh); Jah has remembered; Zecarjah, the name of twenty-nine Israelites :- Zachariah, Zechariah.
Yeberekyahuw, yeb-eh-rek-yaw'-hoo, Hebrew 3000; from Hebrew 1288 (barak) and Hebrew 3050 (Yahh); blessed of Jah; Jeberekjah, an Israelite :- Jeberechiah.
Again, our Father teaches us in a very simple manner by giving us ensamples and pictorial analogies, things we can see even with our flesh eyes, that we might somehow get it through our thick skulls what it is He would have to know and understand in these last days. It is man who is usually out to serve himself who complicates and clouds the pure living water of God's Word by attempting to make it fit his traditions and preconceived ideas (pre-conceived means pre-impregnated, spiritually speaking)! And you "see", when we are drawn away from His Word, the light of truth, the fountain of life, then darkness and anguish and fear and ultimately spiritual death follow as a natural consequence, all of which you can read about in Deuteronomy 28:15-68. So take heed!"There were, altogether, four "children" who were set "for signs and for wonders in Israel by the LORD of hosts" (8:18). Two were only "signs", but two were "wonders", and they are given, and placed, in alternate correspondence.A | SHEAR-JASHUB, 7:3 (The son of the Prophet), a "sign".
B. | IMMANUEL, 7:14, a "wonder".
A. | MAHER-SHALAL-HASH-BAZ, 8:1-3 (The son of the Prophet), a "sign".
B. | "WONDERFUL", &c. 9:6, 7, a "wonder".Does not this point to the fact that the child of chap. 7:14 is to be associated with the child of chap. 9:6? and, though it was a "sign" of events then transpiring, those events did not and could not exhaust it or the "wonders" to which it pointed.
The names also of these "children" are signs. The meaning of the name Isaiah was itself a sign of that salvation of Jehovah of which he prophesied.
i. SHEAR-JASHUR (7:3) meant the remnant shall return, i.e. repent, and stay upon Jehovah, and wait for Him.
ii. IMMANUEL (7:14) told of the fact that salvation would come to Israel only when God with us should be true as a blessed and glorious reality.
iii. MAHER-SHALAL-HASH-BAZ (8:1-3) tells of the Assyrian hasting to make a prey and spoil of the nation, and reveals the need of the salvation of Jehovah. That too, was only partially fulfilled. For there is another who is called "the Assyrian", and in Dan. 9:26 is called "the prince that shall come" (cp. Isa. 14:25). He will hasten to make a prey of the nation; but there is yet another -- Emmanuel, the Prince of the Covenant-- Who will destroy him and bring in, for Israel, final and eternal salvation. His name is called,
iv. "WONDERFUL" - "THE PRINCE OF PEACE"."
[4] For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.Historically this came to pass 21 months later which was 12 months from the birth of Maher-shalal-hash-baz. And "so it was it the third year of Ahaz that Damascus (Syria) was sacked and Rezin was slain". Remember that Samaria means "watch mountain" and is symbolic of the 10 tribes of the house of Israel. And so it shall be in the last days that before God's children have the knowledge in their foreheads to cry "My father and my mother", i.e. while they are still spiritual babes suckling on milk (see Heb. 5), that the king of Assyria, Satan, shall come swiftly upon the land to make it spiritually desolate and take away captive the hearts and minds of our people unto himself. You don't have to believe it now, but stick around and one day you will know that the prophet Isaiah told you so.
Once again the LORD tells His servants the reason and purpose for all this... which the watchman must understand is part of His great plan of salvation for His children. Here it is:
[5] The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,The people "refuse" the living waters of Jesus Christ, the Word of God, that would bring them "peace and rest" (Shiloah). His children would rather become confederate with the Assyrian (remember?), which is to trust and rely on fleshly kings and follow the ways (paths, rivers) that seem right in their own minds and are thus set forth in their traditions. But alas! Those ways ultimately lead to captivity and death... the lesson to be learned by the coming invasion of the Assyrian upon the land! How plain and simple can our Father make it to His children? Yet they still listen to their blind preachers and leaders who lead them down their own manmade rivers that all end up at the sewage treatment plant! Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."[6] Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
So go ahead and continue to "refuse the waters of Shiloah", to ignore His Word which is to forsake Him, and continue to trust and rely on man's systems and his way, his road map of trying to bring peace to the world, and you will find yourself taken up and held captive in the arms of the Assyrian who shall overflow the land like a great flood with his lies and deceits... and then suddenly you will be awakened and find yourself in dire need of deliverance and salvation!
[7] Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:This is the overflowing of Satan when he is cast out of heaven to this earth and comes to deceive the whole world with his flood of lies and deceptions (Rev. 12:15-16).
[8] And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel. The precious land of Immanuel, even this great one nation under God along with Great Britain, Canada, etc., shall be overflown (Daniel 11) from sea to shining sea with the lies and deceptions of the false-christ, Satan, the desolator, who shall come and stand in the Holy Place where he ought not and sit in the very temple of God claiming to be Yahveh Himself... claiming to be your savior! It is written... and so shall it come to pass!
The day that shall not come is the day we gather back to Jesus Christ (see the 1st verse of 2 Thes. 2)! We have been warned that before Christ returns at the sound of the 7th Trump, the son of perdition who is Satan, the son who has been sentenced to perish, shall come claiming to be God and the whole world, including the majority of our beloved brothers and sisters who "refuse the waters of Shiloah" even though many attend church, shall be among those who stumble and fall!2 Thes. 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
He will show the world that he is God by performing miracles in the sight of men to deceive them. Rev. 13:13-14 "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, [14] And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live."[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Isaiah 8:9Do you want to be broken the hard way? Then go ahead and associate yourself with the Assyrian. Become confederate with the false messiah, the king of this world, and you will soon find yourself in his slave labor camp! However, if you want to have rest and peace of mind and be rock solid when the rest of the world is shaken by the mighty wind "ruach", then put on the gospel of God by studying His precious Word and you shall not be taken in the overflowing spiritual flood which the Lord shall send upon the earth in these last days!
Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
[10] Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.Emmanuel means "God with us" and the question of the day is: Is God with you? Do you read and study His Word and seek to walk in His ways? It is a good thing if you do because all of man's ways and attempts to bring peace on earth shall all come to nought when the King of kings and Lord of lords comes at the sound of the 7th Trump. Rev. 18:2 "And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird."
[11] For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,Our Father speaks to us through His Word and yet most of His children never go through the door to hear His Voice!
You "see", the door is now open (Rev. 3:8) to whosoever will enter in. Even that which was written and sealed for these last days (Daniel 12:9) has been opened and revealed, unveiled by the Lamb of God (Rev. 5, 6)! So the choice is given to each one of us! We can either become confederate with the New World Order and trust and rely on the ways and means of men, or we can do as our Father just firmly instructed us in Isa. 8:11... "do NOT walk in the way of this people"! Do not you become "confederate" and ally your heart and mind with the king of Assyria. Trust and rely on the LORD by staying firmly rooted in His Word, which is to dwell with Him, meaning you have Emmanuel, "God with you"!John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.Rev. 4:1
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Isaiah 8:12There is NOTHING to fear nor to be afraid of in these last days if you have God with you, if you put your faith and trust in Him instead of the One World System, the confederacy of Satan, though it may appear to be as a Goliath when it confronts you head on.
Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
[13] Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. You "sanctify the LORD of hosts" in your heart and mind by keeping His Word, Immanuel, and He will be your river of Shiloah, your way to peace of mind and rest. However, if you follow after the traditions of men, churchianity, by blindly following the path they are on, then the Word of God shall become a stumbling block to you for you shall not know the true Christ... though in your own mind you will think you do! The very nature of deception is that one who is deceived has no clue that he or she is! Well then how does one ever come to know if he or she is deceived or not? Well, Jesus Christ told us in Matthew 24:5 and Mark 13:6 that the majority of Christians in the last days would be deceived, so begin by understanding that the probability is that you are. Then, if you have gotten that far just ask yourself how truly knowledgeable are you of His Word? You "see", only those who not have the seal of God in their foreheads shall NOT stumble and fall before Satan, the spurious messiah, and his locust army in these last days (Rev. 9:4). So remember to study His Word so as to be able to stand firmly upon the Rock, otherwise you will stumble and fall over it during the darkest hour yet to come!
[14] And He shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.Again, let Jesus Christ the Word of God be your sanctuary, which is a place of safety and rest. Otherwise when the Assyrian comes upon the land you will be snared and caught in the trap of his deception and you shall surely stumble and fall by believing that the abominable one standing in Jerusalem claiming to be God is Jesus Christ.
[15] And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken. This is the great apostasy of the last days when our people shall be spoiled and taken prey like a bunch of wild animals snared in gins. The apostle Peter, whose name means "rock", goes to great length to quote and elaborate and make clear that which is written and contained right here in the 8th chapter of Isaiah concerning the stumbling of our people.
To be "confounded" is to be ashamed at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ because one has fallen in ignorance and worshipped the false messiah as his or her king!1 Peter 2:6-9
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded.
To be "disobedient" is to ignore the words and instructions of your Father! Do you listen to Him regularly? Again, most do not hear His voice because they never go through the open door! That means that they do not know Him and so when He comes He will tell them He never knew them either... because He never saw their face come through the door! Matthew 7:23 "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Iniquity is the disobedience of not listening to Him but rather listening to and following after the traditions of men.confounded, kataischuno, kat-ahee-skhoo'-no, Greek 2617; from Greek 2596 (kata) and Greek 153 (aischunomai); to shame down, i.e. disgrace or (by implication) put to the blush :- confound, dishonour, (be a-, make a-) shame (-d).[7] Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
Again, even as Peter repeats that which is written in Isaiah in plain language for the common folks to understand, those who continue to ignore their Father's Word, who refuse the "river of Shiloah", though they claim to believe in the true Rock shall stumble and fall in the great apostasy of these last days... because the (r)ock they believe in is not our (R)ock. You "see", they have forgotten and are unmindful (ignorant of, unsealed in their minds) of the true Rock, even Jesus Christ the Word of God! It is all written right there in the great Song of Moses in chapter 32 of Deuteronomy, the song that outlines the plan of the final generation, the generation of the fig tree which began on May Fifteenth in the Year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Forty Eight.[8] And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.offence, skandalon, skan'-dal-on, Greek 4625; ("scandal"); probably from a derivative of Greek 2578 (kampto); a trap-stick (bent sapling), i.e. snare (figurative cause of displeasure or sin) :- occasion to fall (of stumbling), offence, thing that offends, stumblingblock.
You will find in Rev. 15:1-5 that the overcomers of the beast in this final generation are singing this Song of Moses. Rev. 15:3 "And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints." The rest have forgotten God and are unmindful of His Word. Most have never even heard of the Song of Moses, much yet read it or studied it.Deut. 32:4
He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is He.
But as Peter says in the next verse, if you are a servant of God then you are a chosen generation who has been called out of darkness, out of deception, out of Babylon (confusion) to serve Him in these last days and bring forth the light of truth to our people who stumble at the Word because of the ignorant traditions of men!Deut. 32:18
Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.Deut. 32:31
For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
Blessed (happy, peaceful, restful) are those who have eyes to see and ears to hear whom He has called out of darkness! Let us now return to Isaiah and continue with the instructions to the servant of God.1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
Isaiah 8:16Rev. 9:4 clearly states that if one does not have the Word of God sealed in his or her forehead, which means etched in the forefront of his or her mind, then that person will become prey to Satan and his locust army, the type of whom we are reading about here in Isaiah concerning the Assyrian and his invading army. Those disciples of His, who are those discipline in His Word, who do have the seal of God in their foreheads shall not be taken at the sound of the 6th Trump when the false messiah comes, but shall wait upon the LORD and look for His coming at the sound of the 7th Trump.
Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
[17] And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth His face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for Him.Yes, the LORD has "hid His face" from the house of Jacob, the natural seedline of the House of Israel, but Acts 17:27 also tells us that the Lord "be not far from every one of us". If you have wisdom and understanding you know where to look for Him for you know that He is right there behind the door to heaven that is now open and all one has to do is enter in at the door and go up to the throne and hear His voice and behold His glory... yes even NOW! We covered this earlier but here it is again:
John "looked", didn't he? And BEHOLD, what did he "see"? He "saw" the door that was open in heaven... and he entered therein! And guess where He was taken... spiritually? Next verse...Rev. 4:1-3
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
[2] And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
Oh that beautiful rainbow, the "shekinah glory" that surrounds the throne of God! The question is: Have you looked for "the LORD who hides His face from the house of Jacob"? You "see", He is only hid from those who do not go through the open door to seek Him! The simple matter is that IF you look for Him, you will find Him. A word to the wise is always sufficient.[3] And He that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
[18] Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. The plan of God is foretold of and made easy to understand in the simple ensamples and signs and wonders He has so graciously given to us in His Word! In other words, the "pictures" He gives us to "see" are all framed and hung in proper order and visible for whosoever will take the time to visit the spiritual gallery he has opened to us through the door of life! Furthermore, His promises are made sure, even as the prophetic events to come all have a forerunner, which means in type they have already come to pass in HIStory to document that His Word is true! So stick to the simplicity of His Word and do not LOOK ELSEWHERE for you now know where to look for Him and BEHOLD His face, right? (Helpful hint: "The Open Door"!)
So...
[19] And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? You want to know what to do with familiar spirits and the traditions that men utter and mutter and sputter? Our Father instructs us through that same apostle John who "saw the light" and beheld the glory of the Lord, to try them all! Here is how it works. Take a spirit, which means a "wind of doctrine", and stick it in the "fire", which is the purifying Word of God. If it becomes purified like gold and stands the test as the real thing, then hold on to it for it is precious indeed. However, if it is consumed and turned to ashes because it turned out to be hay and stubble, then let it go up in smoke for ever and ever because it was worthless anyway! John gives us such a simple example of this that it borders on talking down to Christians (though it is not) because even a small child can understand the simplicity of this. Let's check it out!
Don't you be wishy-washy like a reed shaken in the wind or blown "to and fro"! Do not believe any wind of doctrine until you have "tried it". The word tried in Greek is "dokimazo", the root of which means "put to the test" as in assaying gold! The fact is Jesus Christ warned us that the majority of Christian preachers would come teaching the traditions of men which would deceive our people! However, if one would just take the time to try those traditions and doctrines he or she would soon discover that they will not stand the test of scripture! The problem is, few people take the time or care enough to put them in the fire to see if they are hay and stubble or precious truth! Now for the simple example of how to determine and know the truth:1 John 4:1-3
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
The Word of God declares the "wonder" that a virgin would conceive and that Emmanuel would come in the flesh (Isa. 7:14). And the Word of God also gives us fulfillment of the fact that He was born to that virgin (Mat. 1:23, 2:1). So if anyone teaches that Jesus Christ was the Word made flesh, then that spirit is of God because it is documented in His Word. However...[2] Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
If someone teaches that the Messiah has not yet come, like those who claim to be of Judah and are not, but do lie and are of the synagogue of Satan (Rev. 2:9, 3:9), then that doctrine is highly combustible rubbish for it is easily burned up and consumed by fire, which is the truth of His Word... both the Old Testament and the New Testament will consume it. So now that you know how it works, take another spirit (wind of doctrine) like the any-moment rapture theory and toss it into 2 Thes. 2 and see if the popular teaching holds up that "we are going to gather back to Christ before the false-christ reigns on earth" or not, i.e. that we are not going to gather back until after Satan's reign. Then too, you can simply pay attention as we complete the order of the signs and wonders here in Isaiah chapters 7-9 to know with certitude that A. | MAHER-SHALAL-HASH-BAZ, 8:1-3 (The son of the Prophet), a "sign" comes before B. | "WONDERFUL", &c. 9:6, 7, a "wonder".[3]And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
The point is, do not follow familiar spirits. Check out the spirits of any and all those who teach God's Word and then you can easily tell whether they have the light in them or not, whether they speak according to His Word or the traditions of men!
[20] To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.Jesus Christ, the Word of God, is the LIGHT and we are the children of that Light.
The Light comes in through the open door! Go for it!1 Thes. 5:5-6
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
But blessed are those who are awakened now and enter into life as firstfruits at the coming of the Lord. So be sober minded and do the work of the watchman (Ezek. 2-3) understanding that most of our beloved brothers and sisters who slumber and sleep at this present time are going to need an earthquake, an event that will shatter their lives, before they "see" the light! Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear know that that great shaking Day is soon at hand when they are going to realize their shame and spiritual nakedness as they come to the realization that they have been confederate with the Assyrian (the false king) and literally worshipped Satan believing him to be the true Rock![6] Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Isaiah 8:21When they finally "see" the King of kings and Lord of lords coming in the clouds in power and glory, then they shall finally become "undone", as in they will "crack" and "burst" and fret themselves and curse their god... Satan the false king... and finally look upward to their heavenly Father. It is written... and so shall it be!
And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
The good news is, praise Yahveh, that you can "look up" NOW and behold His glory... IF you are willing to go through the open door that is set before you! But if you continue to look to the things of this world and follow the ways of the multitudes... you will find nothing but darkness and fear and trouble!fret, qatsaph, kaw-tsaf', Hebrew 7107; a primitive root; to crack off, i.e. (figurative) burst out in rage :- (be) anger (-ry), displease, fret self, (provoke to) wrath (come), be wroth.
[22] And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness. So do not be blinded by the god of this world who dwells in the hearts of those who have forsaken their Father's Word because they do not open the book to do His will. Open your eyes, behold, look upward, and "see" the beautiful Light that gives warmth and comfort to all who come near unto Him!
It is ok, even a good thing, to listen to and study with a good teacher. Only make sure he or she preaches Jesus Christ, the Word of God, and NOT the traditions of men or his or her own vain doctrines! And if you are to serve Christ Jesus the Lord, then do so... i.e. serve Him and not yourself!2 Cor. 4:4-6
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Again, come out of darkness and into the light! It is the will of your Father![5] For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
Have you seen His glorious face? If not... you now know where He is, don't you?[6] For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
