The Book of Isaiah
Chapter 6

As you should well know by now that the name Isaiah means "the salvation of Yahveh" and so it is that the wonderful plan of God, the plan of His salvation, is revealed in this great book bearing that title. To that end, in our last few studies we learned about the "drying up" of the land and about all the poison-berries that are being produced in our Father's well blessed vineyard instead of a bountiful crop of grapes. We also learned the cause for what has been happening in the vineyard and who it is who shall receive the "woes" of His wrath for bringing it to such a low spiritual condition, even to the state of spiritual death for most of His children. Then at the conclusion of our last study we learned that our Father is going to send the abominable one, the desolator, Satan, to finish the desolation upon the land. Then shall the King of kings and Lord of lords come in all His power and great glory, and when His people behold Him in all His power and glory they shall become "undone" (vs. 5 below) because of the realization of their shameful condition brought about because they forsook His Word and instead listened to those with "unclean lips" who led them to the false messiah! Let us now continue our study of the wondrous operation of God as revealed in His Word.

Isaiah 6:1-13
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Is there a connection between Uzziah being mentioned and Isaiah seeing the Lord sitting upon His throne? Well, if you are familiar with the days of Uzziah the king, then you know about the great earthquake in his day and that that great shaking is connected with the coming of our Lord!
Zech. 14:5
And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
Yes, there shall be a great shaking at His coming, which among many other places you can read about in Haggai 2:20-22, for as it is written His people shall "see" the Son of man coming in the "clouds" with great power and glory! What a day that will be!
Mark 13:25-26
And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

[26] And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Isaiah however is "seeing" His great power and glory right now... and he is revealing what he "saw" to those who have eyes to "see"! He now continues with a description of the four living beings who are always present at the throne of God.
Isaiah 6:2
Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
These are the same living beings, the "zoon" of Rev. 4:6, that both Ezekiel and the apostle John saw when they also beheld the glory of throne of God. The word "seraphims" used here, Strong's # 8314, means "burning" or "fiery", as in "fiery ones", and is simply a figurative and descriptive term for those four living beings who are always present at the throne. You will find a more detailed description of them as "fiery" in Ezekiel chapter one where Ezekiel was privileged to see the LORD God come down on His throne aboard a "highly polished spectrum bronze vehicle". That vehicle was the cloud or chariot of Israel (2 Kings 2:12).

Here is another of the characteristics of these entities whom Isaiah, Ezekiel, and John saw:

[3] And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
These are the same words of praise the apostle John heard these living beings say at the throne when he was taken there... i.e. "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty".
Rev. 4:8-9
And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

[9] And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

You "see", the day is soon coming following the desolation by the false-christ, that "the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee (Zech. 14:5)"! And THEN the whole earth shall be full of His glory! This happens at the sound of the 7th Trump when the door to the temple shall be closed and none shall enter into life (eternal) again until the end of the Millennium (Rev. 20:5). In other words, the flesh age shall be over and the gathering, the harvest of the firstfruits from the vineyard, shall be completed. Those who are not part of that first resurrection, the first raising to the status of eternal life, will have to wait until the great white throne judgment to enter into eternal life... or into the lake of fire if they still choose at that time to follow the pied-piper of liberalism himself, Satan.
Isaiah 6:4
And the posts of the door moved at the voice of Him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
God is a consuming fire even as it is written in Hebrews 12:9, "For our God is a consuming fire." And His fire is coming to this earth at the sound of the 7th Trump. Are you acquainted with what Jesus Christ said in Luke 12:49? "I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I if it be already kindled?" You "see", since God is a consuming fire it follows that His ministers are ministers of that fire! Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire."

And so it is that at the sound of the 7th Trump His temple (do you know what the temple is?) shall be filled with smoke from the glory of God and the posts of the door shall be moved... closed that is... as documented in Rev. 15:8.

Rev. 15:7-8
And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.

[8] And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from His power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

Let us now return to Isaiah and "see" what effect his "seeing" the power and majesty and glory of the King, the LORD of hosts, had on him. This is important to understanding the plan of what shall happen when Mark 13:26 (see above) comes to pass!
Isaiah 6:5
Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
Isaiah "Woe is me'd" himself as he fully recognized his deservedly perishable state, i.e. how undone* and how unclean his lips were! At that point he also recognized and realized that his beloved people were in the same condition he was... undone and unclean! Here is the definition of "undone":
*undone, damah, daw-maw', Hebrew 1820; a primitive root; to be dumb or silent; hence to fail or perish; trans. to destroy :- cease, be cut down (off), destroy, be brought to silence, be undone, × utterly.
The point we need to see in all this is that Isaiah's eyes were opened to the truth and he was totally humbled when he "saw the King, the LORD of hosts"! Herein lies the understanding of why it is that you will never find a true servant of God, one whose eyes have been opened, who thinks of himself or herself as worthy in the sight of the Lord. Have you "seen" the Lord Jesus Christ? It is real simple to do so for all you have to do is go to Him through the door that is open to you NOW (Rev. 3:7), which is the Word of God, and He WILL reveal Himself to you. You have His Word on it!
John 10:9
I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
And you know what else? If you will take the time to go through the door now, while it is yet open, and get to know Him through His Word, He will show you exactly what shall happen hereafter... as well as what has happened in the past and what is happening right now, for "there is nothing new under the sun"!
Rev. 4:1
After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Remember, the door will soon be closed for a thousand years, beginning at the sound of the 7th Trump, so open the Word of God, the open door that leads to life, and enter in now while there is yet time.
Isaiah 6:6
Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
The "live or living coal" that is taken from the fire from off the altar of God is the Living Word of God, His purifying truth. The seraphim is going to lay it upon the mouth and touch the lips of Isaiah because he is going to go speak unto his people the Word of Truth. Yes, he shall be a "minister of fire"!
[7] And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
Isaiah was not harmed by that "live coal" but rather his iniquity was taken away and his sin purged, meaning that his unclean lips were made clean by the "purifying fire" of God's Word. Remember we discussed in a previous study the two-fold nature of fire in that the same degree of fire that purifies gold and silver will also instantly consume that which is hay or stubble. The question is, "How clean are your lips?" If they are not cleansed by the fire of His Word, then they are unclean indeed... as is the case with the majority of our beloved brothers and sisters who have been led with "strange fire" taken not from the living altar of God but rather from the dead altar whereupon lay the traditions of men. Have you ever read what happened to Aaron's two sons who took "strange fire" and tried to serve the Lord? Leviticus 10:1-2 "And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which He commanded them not. [2] And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD." So don't play around with strange fire! Stick to the pure Word of God as do the "wise" sons and daughters of God in this final generation.
[8] Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
Have you "heard the voice of the Lord" or do you still hear the words and traditions of men? Are you consumed with your own salvation or are you concerned about the iniquity and the unclean lips of our people who have been led astray after the traditions of men and are going to stumble and fall before the false messiah, the abominable desolator, when he arrives defacto at the sound of the 6th Trump? Whom shall the Lord God send to teach and warn His people and bring to them the purging fire of His truth?

Isaiah answered the Lord, having now "heard His voice", the Word of God, and said he would go and serve... in the vineyard of course, which we learned from Isaiah 5:7 is the house of Israel. Here is what Isaiah was to tell them:

[9] And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear understand the purpose of the blindness of Israel beginning with the fact that "it is not given to all to "see" or "understand" the Word of God. Why not? Because as of yet, they do not hunger and thirst after His Word, i.e. they do not desire to know and understand the in-depth truth of His Word. They continue to "see" only with flesh eyes and cannot "go up", meaning they cannot open their minds and elevate their thinking to the spiritual level. Thus the Word of God remains a mystery unto them, though it is so simple when the scales are removed from one's eyes. So since these two verses from Isaiah, the "salvation of Yahveh", are referenced "7" times in the New Testament, it is important that we take the time to fully understand them, beginning with "why" the majority of our people in this final generation are blinded to the truth of His Word. Let us go to the Parable of the Sower, the parable that Jesus Christ said one must first understand or else he or she will not be able to understand any of His parables. Mark 4:13 "And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?"

Here is the question asked by the disciples:

Matthew 13:10-16
And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
Do not overlook the fact that the "disciples" came privately to Jesus Christ, the Word of God, to seek knowledge and understanding while the multitudes went away saying something like, "Wasn't that a wonderful sermon today?" So unless one asks and seeks and knocks, the door shall remain closed to them! Do a search on "came to Him" and "see" how many times the "disciples came to Him" privately asking questions and seeking understanding".

Here is Christ's answer to their question. Understand that He is the one who has all the answers and those answers are given to those who come to Him!

[11] He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Again, most of our brothers and sisters in this final generation do not thirst and hunger after righteousness, which is His Word... but they will when they see Him coming in the clouds with power and glory following the desolation of the land by the abominable one.
[12] For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Whosoever has the desire to seek Him and come to Him through His Word shall be given wisdom and understanding. Those who truly do come to Him desiring to "see" Him all know that they are undone and have unclean lips. They know full well that all their righteousness is as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6 "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

So we just read that Jesus Christ speaks in parables to those who are "waxed fat (Deut. 32:15)" and "have need of nothing (Rev. 3:17)", lest their eyes be opened and they be held accountable unto death. You "see", their ignorance has become a cloak of innocence whereby their souls shall not have to be judged to perish when they fall to the spurious messiaht, and that is because our Father loves all His children very much and it is His desire, His will, that none perish (like the son of perdition) but that all come to repentance (2 Pet. 3:9). His wondrous and marvelous "plan" is designed to bring them to that point.

Nevertheless, it is amazing how many preachers and ministers teach that Christ spoke in parables to make things simple and easy to understand for all when Jesus Christ said exactly the opposite!

[13] Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And so it is a fulfillment of the plan of "the salvation of Yahveh" that the majority of His people shall NOT "see" (perceive) nor "hear" (understand) the mysteries of the kingdom of God until the sound of the 7th Trump when they shall see Him coming in power and glory! Then they shall know that they are "undone"... but alas, unfortunately the door to the temple shall be closed and they cannot enter into life until the thousand years are finished!
[14] And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
Here is the reason the house of Israel is blinded:
[15] For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
This is the "acceptable year of the Lord (Isa. 61;2)" in which His salvation is open to whomsoever will, i.e. whosoever hungers and thirsts after His righteousness. And you "see", it is ONLY Jesus Christ, the Word of God, who can open eyes and heal spiritual blindness.
[16] But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
What a blessing (happiness) indeed it is for those who have wisdom and knowledge from His Word. Do you understand the Parable of the Sower? Understanding the blindness of our people and the reason for it is an important part of that parable. Again, it is because of our Father's love for His children and His wondrous way of protecting them from knowingly (meaning with full knowledge of the truth) falling before and worshipping Satan. Make no mistake about it, most shall stumble and fall before the false-christ but they will do so in ignorance believing the one they bow down to is Jesus Christ. So do not think that God has forsaken His people in allowing the blindness to cover their eyes, for as Paul explains in Romans 11, He has NOT! Open your eyes and come to a more mature understanding of the plan of the "salvation of Yahveh"! Click here for a more in-depth study of the Parable of the Sower.

Let us now return to Isaiah 6:10, to the verse that is quoted "7" times in the New Testament (Mat. 13:14, Mark 4:12, Luke 8:10, John 12:40, Acts 28:26, 27, & Rom. 11:8). By the way, "7" is the number of spiritual completeness in Biblical numerics (see appendix 10 in the Companion Bible).

Isaiah 6:10
Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
"Make" means "make to know" as in go tell the people. You go tell them, Isaiah, and explain the blindness of their hard-headedness and tell them "lest", meaning at any time they so choose, they can turn to His Word and "hear His voice" and "harden not their hearts" and then they can be partakers of Christ and of His salvation.
Hebrews 3:14
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

[15] While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

For a second witness to the heavy ears and closed mindedness of our rebellious people, read what our Father told Ezekiel to do. Remember Ezekiel also "saw the throne and the glory of the LORD" and "undid" himself "when he saw it", as in fell upon his face in humbleness, and THEN he too "heard His voice"!
Ezekiel 1:28
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
Here are Ezek-i-el's instructions. Ezek-i-el means "God is strong" or "God is my strength"!
Ezekiel 2:3-5
And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

[4] For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.

Keep reading through chapters two and three of Ezekiel and understand how the watchman, the servant of God, is to labor in the vineyard and speak with "cleansed lips", in other words speak the words from His mouth, His Word, after the manner of "Thus saith the Lord GOD" and "It is written"! And whether the people choose to have their eyes and ears opened or not, that is between them and the Lord... not you or me!
[5] And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
The Parable of the Sower explains what happens when God's Word is preached among the people. Nevertheless, those who choose not to "hear His voice" but rather continue after the manner of the multitudes in following the traditions of men that blind them to the truth, will eventually know that their Father was longsuffering and made available the truth of His Word.

Now take heed to the next question Isaiah has concerning the "blindness" of the house of Israel and the answer that the Lord gives those with understanding.

Isaiah 6:11
Then said I, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,
[12] And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
The blindness shall remain until AFTER the abomination of desolation, the false messiah who is none other than Satan, the son of perdition, comes and sits in the temple of God (2 Thes. 2:4), as in stands in the Holy Place (Mat. 24:15), in the midst of the land, and makes "the land utterly desolate (spiritually speaking)"! Jesus Christ said if you want to know more about this abominable one and what goes on when he is here, then go read the Book of Daniel (Daniel means God is Judge"!)
Mark 13:14
But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
Daniel makes it quite clear that the "abomination of desolation" is the "desolator" who is Satan playing the role of the false-christ, i.e. the false messiah who comes claiming to be God (2 Thes. 2:4). So make no mistake about it, Satan comes first at the sound of the 6th Trump claiming to be the Messiah returned and the majority of our stiff-necked, Biblically challenged brothers and sisters who have forsaken the Word of God, i.e. ignored His voice and instead listened to men's traditions, shall stumble and fall before him... worshipping him as the LORD! It is written, thus saith the Lord, and so shall it be! You do not have to believe it now, but one day you shall know that His Word clearly declared it to be so!
2 Thes. 2:3-4
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
There are lots of books and even movies to go along with the traditions of the multitude of blind preachers who lead our blind loved ones to believe that Jesus Christ is going to return at any moment and rapture them away. WOE to those who teach with unclean lips! Therefore our loved ones are set-up by this deception, this vain tradition of men, to accept and fall before the first supernatural entity who comes in the "clouds" claiming to be God. The problem is, as Paul is explaining here in 2 Thessalonians, we are NOT going to gather back to the true Christ until there is "a great forsaking in the midst of the land (Isa. 6:12)", a great "falling away" (apostasy) when the son of perdition comes and makes the land spiritually desolate by causing the whole world to believe he is God! That is why Satan is called the "desolator" in Daniel. You "see", if you claim to be Christian and yet you fall down and worship Satan, even in ignorance, you are a "spiritually dead" man or woman because you are void of knowledge and wisdom from your Father's Word!
[4] Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
And so it is that the King of kings and Lord of lords shall return once the desolation has consumed the land and then Mark 13:26 shall come to pass when His people "shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory". THEN they shall become "undone", Woe is me, for they shall see the shame of their nakedness, the shame of their iniquity and their uncleanness! No, our Father has not forsaken His children by allowing the blindness to fall upon their eyes, for He loves them far too much to ever forsake them. But He also hates to see them have to pay such a tremendous price and miss out on the double blessings of the firstfruits because of their hard-heartedness, when all they have to do is turn to Him in repentance and "hear His voice" to do the will of their Father.

So thank God for His remnant, His elect, who shall hold fast to His Word until the end. You "see", though there shall be a great falling away in the land, a great felling of the trees, there shall remain those solid roots, the sons and daughters of Acts chapter two who are the "seed" Jesus Christ promised in Ps. 22:30-31 WOULD COME and declare His righteousness, His Word, to His people in the final generation. They are here now "at this present time" by the grace of God (meaning because of the love of our Father), with eyes to see and ears to hear to bring the precious truth of His Living Word to their spiritually dying brothers and sisters. And they teach His Word chapter by chapter and line by line regardless of what men and their traditions have to say. And they will not bow in the apostasy to the image of the beast nor to Satan when he comes defacto.

Romans 11:4-5
But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
God's elect did not bow a knee to Baal in the first earth age nor shall they in this one.
[5] Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
Do you have eyes to "see the King in His glory" and ears to "hear His voice"? If so then you are one of His elect who shall remain standing against the fiery darts of the wicked one when the rest fall to the image of Baal!
Isaiah 6:13
But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
Again, thank God for His elect who shall remain firmly planted even while the rest of the trees are cast down, for there shall be a new beginning when the King of kings and Lord of lords returns to this earth following the desolation by the abominable one. At that day the stupor and blindness shall be lifted and His people will see His power and His glory and then they shall become undone and realize the shame brought upon them by ignoring their Father's Word, by allowing themselves to be drawn away from the simplicity of His truth to follow after the idolatrous traditions of churchianity, perpetuated by those who speak with unclean lips. Are you beginning to "perceive" and "understand" the beautiful plan and the "salvation of Yahveh"?

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
