Pamphlet #5077
What does God think of "The United Nations"?
What does God think of our making alliances with non Christian nations? Please read Amos 6:14, then read 1 Chron. 2:55, then 2 Kings 10:15 and last read Hosea 1:4.
Amos 6:14 But,
behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith
the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering
in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
If you don't understand this
verse open and read #1369 from our study of
Amos.
Who is Hemath?
Answer -1
Chron. 2:55 And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites,
the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These
are the Kenites (sons of Cain)
that came of Hemath, the father
of the house of Rechab.
Who did King Jehu make a alliance
with?
Answer - 2
Kings 10:15 And when he [Jehu] was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab
the
son of Rechab coming to meet him: and
he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with
thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine
hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him
into the chariot.
What did God do because of
this alliance?
Answer - Hosea
1:4 And the LORD said unto him, Call his name
Jezreel; for
yet a little while, and I will avenge the
blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and
will cause to cease the kingdom of the
house
of Israel.
Notice that the LORD has NOT said that He would cause the "children" of the house of Israel to perish or cease. It is only their "kingdom", their national identity as the "House of Israel" with a king reigning over them, that He would take away! Now log unto and read the last 4 paragraphs of pamphlet #1405
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
