Pamphlet 5028 KC Daniel 10-1

Most people do not picture Satan as a wise and beautiful cherub, one who is very bright.

Nebuchadnezzar has had another dream, one which also greatly troubled him as did his first dream, and so he called in all the multi-faith religious leaders such as in the magicians and astrologers and Chaldeans and soothsayers, seeking to find an answer to that which "made him afraid (Dan. 4:5)".

And this time the king even told the religionists what the dream was, yet still none of them could interpret the dream for him, because no matter how religious or even scientific man may claim to be, apart from the Word of God he is and always will be clueless when it comes to knowing and understanding the will of God and His great purpose and wondrous works being carried out here below.

The ironic part is that all His works are being carried out exactly they are written in His Word.

Finally (at the last), Daniel whose name means "God is Judge", the One who always has the final say, came in and the king told him the dream.

Nebuchadnezzar described to Daniel "a tree" which had grown up strong in the midst of the earth, "whose height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth (Dan. 4:11)".

We know this tree symbolized the king of Babylon (Dan. 4:22), both he who was a mere human type, and the real king of Babylon of these last days who is none other than Satan, the great red dragon, that old serpent called the devil.

He goes by many names (Rev. 12:9).

We noted that one of the most incredible and amazing things about all this, which ties right in to the lesson we are to learn from this fourth chapter which is even authored by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, is that simultaneously while God uses him to show us what the king of Babylon of the last days shall be like, He is able to convert him and bring him to the point whereby he comes to love and revere our Father and give Him praise and honor.

You see, God uses whomsoever He will both positively and negatively to fulfill His great purpose and plan... for He is the one who is in complete control of the affairs of men and He sets up kingdoms and nations and tears them down according to His purpose.

"The nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance.. (Isa. 40:15).

Also in our last study we learned about trees.

We went to Ezekiel chapter 31 and read about the trees in the garden of God, and how that "te-ashshur", that plain old box-tree, exalted himself in the first earth age and became a great tree under whose branches all great nations dwelt.

He was eventually hewn down by our Father and judged and sentenced to perish by fire, which is to be destroyed by God who is a consuming fire.

"God is a consuming fire" (Deut. 4:24, Heb. 12:29). We also learned that this "tree" was the same entity who appeared in the midst of the garden of Eden, the one called the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" who seduced mother Eve in the fig grove.

Then at the conclusion of our last study we went to the 28th chapter of Ezekiel, whose name means "God is my strength", to document the brightness and beauty of that glistening one, Satan, who is called in that 28th chapter the king of Tyrus, which means "rock" in Hebrew... with a little "r", for he is not our Rock with a capital "R", who is Jesus Christ our Lord.

So let's return to Ezek. 28 where we are given a real good look at this self-exalted king in the first earth age, because he is the same one who shall soon come when he and his angels are cast out of heaven and shall have his kingdom restored unto him at the end of this flesh age.

Let's repeat verse 12 where we left off in order to refresh our minds of the context.

Ezekiel 28:12
Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
Most people do not picture Satan as a wise and beautiful cherub, one who is very bright.

In fact, we learned from the verse that follows this (vs. 13) that Satan, whose name was Lucifer meaning "morning star" (Isa. 14), once wore the breastplate of a priest containing the twelve stones of Israel, which means he was one who was responsible for teaching and maintaining the truth and justice that flowed from the mercy seat of God.

Ezekiel 28:14
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
As a cherub he covered the "mercy seat" which means he was to guard and protect truth and justice, and initially he did just that.

At one time he walked "straight up and down" in the midst of the stones of fire, God's children.

Now he no longer walks straight up and down but goes "to and fro" having strayed from the perfect path he once followed.

[15] Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
His straying from truth and justice because iniquity was found in him was only the beginning, because it is what he then proceeded to do and would not repent of that caused our Father to judge Him and sentence him to perish.
[16] By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence (corruption), and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
Satan is the profane one, but it obvious that at vast segment of our people cannot not tell the difference between that which is holy, the true Christ and His ways, and that which is profane, the false Christ and his ways.

The point is, the false Christ is coming again to stand in the midst of the temple and claim he is the true Rock, Jesus Christ, and he will once again lead our people astray as he did 1/3 of them in the first earth age (Rev. 12:4).

sinned, chat*a', khaw-taw', Hebrew 2398; a primitive root; properly to miss; hence (figurative and general) to sin; by inferance to forfeit, lack, expiate, repent, (causative) lead astray, condemn :- bear the blame, cleanse, commit [sin], by fault, harm he hath done, loss, miss, (make) offend (-er), offer for sin, purge, purify (self), make reconciliation, (cause, make) sin (-ful, -ness), trespass.
You know, it is the duty of those who claim to be teachers of God's Word to hold fast to that Word and teach our people the difference between the "two trees", the two Jesus Christs, the holy one and the profane one, so that they can discern between that which is unclean and that which is clean.

Again, it is obvious by the way so many of our people who claim to be Christians (followers of Jesus Christ, the Word of God) and yet support so many liberal and socialist ideologies that they know not the difference between the clean and the unclean, because they know not Jesus Christ, the Word of God.

Here is the duty of the ministers of God both past and present and even in the Millennium to come:

Leviticus 10:10
And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

[11] And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the LORD hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.

It will be the same duty of the Zadok, the priests of God, to teach His people in the Millennium the difference between the holy and the profane.
Ezekiel 44:23
And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

[24] And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.

During the Millennium truth and justice shall flow like a mighty river unto all nations from His throne in Jerusalem.

Yet it is His desire even now that His truth and justice flow throughout the land, but the preachers have forsaken their duties of teaching the meat of His Word and have substituted in its stead a form of religion, call it churchianity, where all they do is conduct worship services and sing songs and utter repetitious prayers and take up collections for this worthy cause and that.

This they do in the name of Christianity while forsaking the teaching and instruction of His Word so that people could come to know how to discern truth from the deceitful spin of the profane whereby they can execute His justice instead of the corrupted compromises of liberalism.

Here is what your Father has to say about religion vs.

His truth and justice:

Amos 5:21-24
I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
In other words He will not "smell" the incense offered up which is symbolic of prayers, meaning He will not hear their prayers!
[22] Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
Their offerings are unacceptable to Him for they ignore His Word and follow after the traditions of men.
[23] Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
You can dump all the religious ceremony and false pretense of righteousness, because this next verse tells us what our Father wants instead of all that ritualistic stuff.
[24] But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
When Jesus Christ returns at the sound of the 7th Trump... His righteousness (His truth, i.e. His Word) and His justice (righteous judgment) SHALL flow as mighty rivers throughout the land!

Now let's return to Ezekiel 28 and finish the sad story (lamentation) of the king of Tyrus..

Ezk. 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
You will find in Isaiah 14 that Satan will be cast down to the ground, hewn down, and bound in the pit during the Millennium and people will pass by and shake their heads in amazement that this plain old box-tree could have possibly "caused the earth to tremble, and the kingdoms to shake".

Isaiah 14:15-16 "Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. [16] They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms."

And by the way, who do you think those kings will be in the Millennium that the king of Tyrus will lay before in vs. 17?

That's right, the Zadok, the "just ones", God's elect whom He has made kings and priests to reign with Him for the thousand years (Rev. 20:4)!

These next two verses contain Satan's final judgment and sentence to perish forever.

[18] Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
When something is turned to ashes, it is consumed away and gone up in smoke forever and ever.
[19] All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.
So there will be a FINAL hewing down of that tree at the end of the Millennium and he shall be no more.

Meanwhile, he shall serve our Father's purpose in chastising and afflicting His people to bring them to their shame during the final hour of this flesh age.

Nebuchadnezzar now continues with the description of his dream to Daniel.

Daniel 4:15
Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:
The stump will be kept alive by the "dew of heaven" until the appointed time when he shall sprout new growth (as a stump will do) and shoot up and become a mighty tree once again, i.e. his kingdom is restored unto him.

Remember that this is an analogy of both the flesh king, Nebuchadnezzar, and the real king of Babylon, Satan, who was hewn down to a stump in the first earth age but who shall have his kingdom restored in these last days.

As we have discussed numerous times, we must separate the man Nebuchadnezzar, God's servant whom He used as a type to teach us and then show us his conversion, from the king of Babylon he represents in type, i.e. Satan who shall never repent and shall ultimately be destroyed.

Daniel 4:16
Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
This documents that Nebuchadnezzar was inflicted with a mental disease that affected his heart, which is his mind.

In other words, his mind as a man was taken from him and he was given the mind of a beast, which is exactly what Lycanthropy is.

Also, the seven times for Nebuchadnezzar, the man king of Babylon, are the seven years he is decreed to be stump.

However, the seven times for Satan are the seven dispensations he is decreed to be a stump... right up to the end of the Millennium when he will destroyed by fire and turned to ashes, leaving no more stump!

Next, the two main lessons to be learned in this fourth chapter are summed up in the following verse.

[17] This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.
Here we have the Statement of Purpose decreed by the watchers and the demand by the word of the holy ones, stating that the judgment given by the Most High is to the intent that the living may know that Almighty God is in total charge over all mankind and he gives the kingdom to whomsoever He will.

In fact, it is His purpose to give it to the "basest of all men" who is Satan, the beast.

You see, it is by God's will and decree that he is the god of this world, the prince and power of the air, and that his kingdom is restored unto him at the end of this flesh age.

But know this one thing... he rules only by permission granted by our Father according to His divine plan which can be "seen" by understanding the method of the conversion of Nebuchadnezzar.

Then once the seven times, the seven dispensations, are complete Satan shall be cut off for evermore, even forever and ever, and cast into the lake of fire. Meanwhile, God uses him throughout those seven dispensations as He will, for the testing and correction and chastisement in turning the hearts of his children back to Him.

Again, Nebuchadnezzar is a flesh man whom God uses to give us a type.

God is going to inflict him with a disease called Lycanthropy, which comes from "lukos" meaning "wolf" and "anthropos" which means a man. So what we are going to see is a "wolf-man".

Now, just as God will use this wild beast disease to convert Nebuchadnezzar, he will use the beast, Satan, to convert many of his children. In other words, the negative is used to ultimately bring about a positive.

Our Father uses the king of Babylon, who is the basest of all men, to bring His people to their knees in shame and humbleness to where when He lifts them back up they will turn to Him and be filled with such heartfelt praise and glory they won't be able to contain the love they have for Him.

You see, that is why our Father chose this disease of Lycanthropy, which is a mental disease whereby one has the mind of a wild beast in comparison to reason and common sense and wisdom.

This man Nebuchadnezzar who becomes unsightly and grotesque in both mind and body gives us a graphic picture in our mind's eye of the spiritual state, the mind, of Satan for the entire seven dispensations right up to the great white throne judgment when he is destroyed.

Nebuchadnezzar on the other hand, after suffering the affliction from the mind of the beast will be converted with a renewed heart and a love for our Father that is overwhelming.

The whole purpose in the negative part of Father's plan is for the purpose of bringing His children back to Him whereby they love Him from within, from the bottom of their hearts, for what He has done for them when he delivers them from the beast.

God is Judge and how mighty and wondrous are His works.

How true and just are His ways.

Daniel 4:18 This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
Nebuchadnezzar remembered that it was Daniel who was able to tell him his first troubling dream and the interpretation thereof!
[19] Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies.
Daniel was astonished for a moment at Nebuchadnezzar's dream and told the king that he is not going to like the interpretation... but that his enemies are going to love it.

You may also be astonished at what happens to Nebuchadnezzar, but then you should be for the purpose is to paint a clear picture in your mind's eye so that you "get the picture".

Daniel now begins the interpretation.

Daniel 4:20
The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

[21] Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:

Daniel repeats each part of the dream, for emphasis, as he gives the interpretation.

He now tells Nebuchadnezzar who the tree is.

[22]It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
God gives the kingdom to the king of Babylon, even to the end of this flesh age.
[23] And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
Daniel recaps verses 13 through 16. Remember the seven times are:

7 years for the man Nebuchadnezzar.

7 Dispensations for Satan.

[24] This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
Daniel is making sure that Nebuchadnezzar knows without a doubt that what is about to happen to him, astonishing as it may be, is decreed from the Most High God.
[25] That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
This is the INTENT!

Till thou know!

Again, Nebuchadnezzar is about to be afflicted with a rare disease called Lycanthropy in which the man imagines himself to be a wolf or some other beastly animal.

It is commonly called the "wolf disease".

[26] And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
The stump shall be left in the ground until the appointed time when God restores his kingdom unto him.

Remember, the intent of this decree is so that the living shall know that the Most High rules.

Quite frankly, if you don't know that you are already dead, spiritually speaking.

[27] Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor (the captives); if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquility.
It is important to see here that Nebuchadnezzar is given an opportunity to repent.

In so far as he is a type (in the negative sense) of the true king of Babylon, Satan, you can be sure that Satan (Lucifer) was also afforded every possible opportunity to repent in "the world that then was", before the seven dispensations (seven times) of this earth age commenced.

However, he did not repent and was consequently judged and sentenced by our Father to perish in the lake of fire, which is why he is called the "son of perdition".

Know that His judgment was final and he no longer has an opportunity to repent.

He is as good as dead, which is why his name is also called "death" (Heb. 2:14).

The prophecy and the type are thus complete and we are given to see the plan and the intent of rise and fall of the king of Babylon in fulfilling the purpose of God's plan in bringing on the beast... which is to ultimately win the hearts of His children through deliverance.

God then goes on to convert this flesh man, Nebuchadnezzar, His servant.

Again, our Father uses whomsoever He will in both the positive and negative sense and as with all of His decrees, this one came to pass exactly as He said it would.

Daniel 4:28
All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
It happened!
[29] At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
One year has now passed since Nebuchadnezzar's dream and at this point all is well with him and he is sitting on top of the world, literally!

And as it is with man, when times are good and there is peace and prosperity and blessings flow, he begins to think that he is the one who has made it all happen.

I mean, when one has a great job and a good income and a house and two cars and a retirement plan, etc., who needs God?

Who needs to take the time to study His Word and give Him the praise and glory for what He has done and recognize that He made it all possible.

That is how it is in these last days with our people as it is written in the great Song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32 concerning Jeshurun waxing fat, i.e. the house of Israel becoming a bunch of fat cats.

You see, the greater test of one's loyalty and love of God is not when he or she is entrenched in a fox hole or hanging upside down in a well because His people will surely cry out to Him for help then.

No, the greater testing (tribulation) is when things are going really well and there is need of nothing, for then they take things for granted and begin to think their blessings have come from their own hand.

That is the time when they are easily distracted and led astray from the Word of God. Again, it is the story of our people and especially that of the spoiled rotten Baby Boomer generation, the generation of the fig tree who shall not pass away till all the things Christ foretold us of concerning the king of Babylon come to pass.

Deut. 32:15
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
And so it is that even though many of our people go to church, they still lightly esteem Jesus Christ because they ignore His Word, which is what it means to forsake God.

The next verse gives us an ensample of just how "puffed up" one can become when he or she is sitting on top of the world.

Daniel 4:30
The king spake, and said, 'Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?'
This "I-ME-MY" mental illness is what has brought on the decree from the Most High.

In our next study we will be privileged to "see" the wondrous conversion of king Nebuchadnezzar brought about by the judgment decreed upon him by the Most High.

It is a wondrous thing indeed!

It is important that YOU Read it all!

Jesus said, "the book of Daniel was where one could go read and gain understanding"

Jesus Christ told us in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 when He sat upon the Mount of Olives and gave His disciples the seven seals concerning the knowledge and the events that would transpire during the final generation of the fig tree, that the book of Daniel was where one could go read and gain understanding concerning the abomination of desolation, that abominable desolator (antichrist) who would come stand in the holy place claiming to be God.
The book of Daniel is the Apocalypse of the Old Testament
and a sister book to the Apocalypse of the New Testament,
the book of Revelation.

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
