My Note:  Hell is not a place of physical punishment, but spiritual punishment. Ref. Scripture Luke 16:19-31

Scripture: Luke 16:19  ¶There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20  And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21  And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22  And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23  And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24  And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25  But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27  Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28  For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

The rich man in Luke 16:19 was not thirsty for water as in H2O, he was thirsty for spiritual truth.  That is not physical torment, it's spiritual torment!  The Lord is using a physical example of thirst to give us a visual picture in our mind's eye, of that which we are to understand on a spiritual level concerning eternity

29  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water
We are discussing spiritual needs, not physical needs.

John 6:33-35 For the bread of God is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

[34] Then said they unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

[35] And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

Just look around you this very day and if you open your eyes you should be able to discern that our people are in a spiritual desert right now, even the valley of dry bones described in Ezekiel 37. You see, this is the time just before it gets really dark and the winds are let loose to blow upon the earth and we see there are virtually no "houses" around to feed the true bread of life to our people. That, my friend is what the famine of these end times is all about...

Amos 8:11-12
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
The famine of the last days is a "spiritual famine" caused by the withholding of the true bread of life.
[12] And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

It is therefore incumbent upon God's servants to bring forth the true bread of life from the altar of God and feed the multitudes. Most of the churches of land sure aren't teaching the words of the LORD. They are too busy following the traditions of men. In fact, many people are looking for churches in their area that teach the truth of His Word chapter by chapter and verse by verse. If there is none in your area please remember, "You are the church".  The church is not a building but rather the body of Christ. Why don't you start a Bible study?

Please read pamphlet #1519 & #1520

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
