My Note: Mercy and knowledge of God Ref. Scripture Hosea 6:6
I desired mercy. and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Scripture: Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Anyone who claims to be a servant of God and focuses more on your laying up treasure in their temple rather than laying up treasure in heaven by serving the true temple, the body of Christ, your brothers and sisters, according to that which Christ outlined in the Beatitudes, is a false prophet indeed!
Observe! Many religious hypocrites even lay guilt trips on people by telling them that they are robbing God if they don't fulfill their debt to Him by paying their tithes... meaning to them!
Almost every Sunday you can turn on TV and hear one of them take Malachi 3:8-9 out of context and use it to promote their primary objective, which is to fleece your wallet! Here is the text from Malachi that they quote
Malachi 3:8-9 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Malachi means "My Messenger" and
it
is written to the priesthood, those who are to be His messengers and
represent Him. The Lord is telling the preachers that they are robbing
Him of the tithes we give to their church because they are not teaching
us the difference between what is Holy and what is profane. It
is not us who are robbing God, they are supposed to be teaching us His
Word book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, line by line and
word by word
.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
