My Note:  Here are "God's Flying Saucers" again!  Ref. Scripture 2 Kings 6:17

Scripture:   2 Kings 6:17  And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Scripture:  Ezekiel 1:1  ¶Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
2  In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,
3  The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.

Ezekiel 1:4  ¶And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

Ezek. 1:4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

(1) The word "colour" used here is the Hebrew word "ayin" which literally or figuratively means "eye", and is used here in the sense of "to see" or "appeared as".

(2) The word "amber" is "chashmal" and means "polished spectrum metal" or "shiny polished bronze".

Ezek. 1:4" I saw a storm wind coming from the north, a vast cloud with flashes of fire and brilliant light about it; and within was a radiance like brass, glowing in the heart of the flames. (N.E.B.)

Ezek. 1:4" I looked; a stormy wind blew from the north, a great cloud with light around it, a fire from which flashes of lightning darted, and in the center a sheen like bronze at the heart of the fire." (J.B.)

Complete text: Ezekiel 1:1  ¶Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
2  In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,

4  ¶And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

This incredible sight must have blown Ezekiel's mind!
8  And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.
Ezekiel is still describing the vehicle's structure and decals, or emblems.
9  Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.
This was amazing to Ezekiel. These vehicles not only flew in perfect formation, like the Blue Angels, with their wings tips together, but they always faced forward no matter which direction they went. A helicopter can pretty much do that, but there is nothing in the universe as fast and mobile as these highly polished bronze vehicles that Ezekiel saw!

The next verse gives the same exact description of the four faces as we read about in Rev. chapter 4 concerning the Zoon, the four Cherubim Guards at the throne of God. They are the same faces as the N, S, E, W standards (emblems or banners) of God's nation of Israel in Numbers 2. There is nothing strange about this at all.
10  As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.
Here's Rev. 4:7 just as a reminder and a comparison to show how perfect and consistent the Word of God is from the Law (Num. 2), to the Prophets (Ezek. 1), to the Revelation (Rev. 4). Our Father is same Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.

Rev. 4:7
And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

Rev. 4:6
And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

How would a person 2500 years ago describe energy cells, beacons, flashing laser beams, etc.? How about just something as simple as the colored lights on top of a police cruiser?
13  As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
Remember, the pilots of these "Flying Wheels" are the four Zoon and wherever they go there is an intense brightness.
14  And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.
That about describes how fast UFOs go, according to those who claim to have seen them. Ezekiel says they are as fast as a flash of lighting. When the Zoon go Zoooom, they're gone!
15  ¶Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.

"As I stared at all of this, I saw four wheels on the ground beneath them, one wheel belonging to each." (Living Bible)

Some people don't think that there are any "things" in the spiritual dimension, so that when you die and go to heaven (assuming you have accumulated enough points by going to church regularly and making sufficient monetary contributions to be in good standing on the church roster) you really go sit on some cloud and play a harp, and sing "Holy, Holy, Holy" all day long. Wait a minute, harps ARE things! How do they reconcile that?

Note: I'm not knocking going to church or giving, but for some that's about all their Christianity consists of and they ignore His Word.

Then too, many folks tell their kids that Santa Claus travels around the world in his sleigh pulled by his cherubims, the reindeer, lead by Ruldolph, and they go forth as a flash carrying he who brings gifts and good tidings to the world from out of the "north". Ho, ho, ho? Not so! It makes you wonder if someone isn't sort of mocking Ezekiel chapter 1, doesn't it? What do the Zoon at the throne of God say? Rev. 4:8 "And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come."

Would Satan mock God and His mode of transportation? Do you think our Father looks like the omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent fat boy dressed in red and white? White robes are the dress of the saints and their Christ. Rev. 19:13 says concerning the description of Christ, "And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God." And how about Santa's white beard and hair? Rev. 1:14 "His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;" Oh, that was Christ's description, not Santa's. Hmmm.

Anyway, here's another question to consider. What have you always been taught happened to Elijah, the great prophet? I don't know about you, but I was taught that he got sucked up into the middle of a giant whirlwind. This belief was confirmed when I saw the Hollywood movie, "The Wizard of Oz", and Dorothy and Toto made the trip by tornado to Munchkin Land.

But is that really what happened to Elijah? Let's check it out.

2 Kings 2:1
And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

[9] And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

[10] And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so.

[11] And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

rekeb, reh'-keb, Hebrew 7393; from Hebrew 7392 (rakab); a vehicle; by implication a team; by extensive cavalry; by analogy a rider, i.e. the upper millstone :- chariot, (upper) millstone, multitude [from the margin], wagon.

Someone is going to write and ask, "Are you saying that Elijah was taken up in a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object)?" The answer is NO! He was taken up in an IFO (Identified Flying Object), for Ezekiel identified them for us. Again, no one until the 20th century could have even asked that question, much less have it understood! Think about it.

[12] And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel,

[12 cont.] ... and the horsemen thereof...

parash, paw-rawsh', Hebrew 6571; from Hebrew 6567 (parash); a steed (as stretched out to a vehicle, not single nor for mounting [compare Hebrew 5483 (c*uwc*)]); also (by implication) a driver (in a chariot), i.e. (collective) cavalry :- horseman.

Well, guess what? You may get your chance to see some vehicles like these real soon. We'll talk about that later in this Book of Ezekiel. Just know for now that they do exist.

Let's return to Ezekiel and finish reading his description of these "chariots of fire"!
18  As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four.
The word "dreadful" is better translated "awesome" for us today! These circular vehicles had windows around them that Ezekiel could see into, and there were living creatures inside (vs. 20)!
19  And when the living creatures went, the wheels went by them: and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.
This is no big deal to us. When the plane takes off, all those we see through the port holes go up too! But imagine Ezekiel seeing this 2500 years ago! How awesome indeed it must have been. It isn't written but I'll bet it "knocked his socks off"! (Don't you just love figures of speech?)
20  Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went, thither was their spirit to go; and the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
The living creature, the Zoon, was in the vehicle and Ezekiel could see him!
21  When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up over against them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.
He just couldn't get over this, could he? Shiny spectrum metal wheels with living beings inside that just take off into the sky, with the beings inside, and whiz around and land at will. Unbelievable, to him.
22  And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above.
Try these translations:

"Above the heads of the living creatures was, as it were, a vault glittering like a sheet of ice, awe-inspiring, stretched over their heads above them." (N.E.B.) or...

"The sky spreading out above them looked as though it were made of crystal; it was inexpressibly beautiful." (Living Bible)

"And as they flew, their wings roared like waves against the shore, or like the voice of God, or like the shouting of a mighty army. When they stopped they let down their wings." (Living Bible)

"From His waist up, he seemed to be all glowing bronze, dazzling like fire; and from his waist down he seemed to be entirely flame, and there was a glowing halo like a rainbow all around him." (Living Bible)

Rev. 4:2
And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.

[3] And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

Now, this is extremely important! Even as it would be this final generation of the last days that God would pour out His Spirit upon, to be able to see [understand] the vision that Ezekiel saw, so too is it for this last generation to understand what God is about to tell Ezekiel. Why? Because it was given to him for this generation, because it applies to this final generation.

I keep repeating over and over again: We live in the most exciting time in the history of mankind, bar none! Sure, Ezekiel got see these vehicles, and he did a great and magnificent job of describing them for us! And just as stunning a sight as it was for Ezekiel... get ready... for we will get to see things, including the vehicles, in the very near future that will be even more spectacular.

Why did God visit Ezekiel in His SUV (Space Utility Vehicle)?  Did He have to? Certainly not! He could have revealed Himself to him from a burning bush, like He did unto Moses, right? Now it isn't written that Moses asked Him what He was doing in a bush, but it is written that he asked Him what His name was, remember? Here's the conversation:

Exodus 3:13
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

[14] And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Now the plain fact is that God chose to visit Ezekiel in a Highly Polished Spectrum Bronze Vehicle, as Ezekiel describes it. So you can send me e-mails all day and all night long telling me you just find it hard to believe that God used transportation, but don't you think it is significant that the entire first chapter in Ezekiel, plus more to come in chapter 10, is devoted to the description of these flying vehicles? There is a reason for it!

Our Father wants you and me, in this final generation, to KNOW that these vehicles exist. As I said before, no other generation could have even understood what they are, and rightfully so, because no other generation was ever going to see them. But this generation IS GOING TO SEE THEM! Wake up and understand the Word of God!

Remember that the name EZEK-I-EL means "Whom God Strengthens", and Adonai Yahveh wants to strengthen His servants, His watchmen, in these last days and PREPARE them for the Spectacular Supernatural Events (SSEs) that will befall us shortly! What do we mean shortly? When Satan and his angels are cast out of heaven in Rev. 12:7-9, they WILL BE DRIVING awesome SUVs, UFOs, IFOs, Flying Wheels, Flying Saucers, whatever you wish to call them, they are FOR REAL! We make no apologies for teaching God's Word as it is written.

Rev. 8:1
And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

[5] And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

[6] And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

It might help to look up the word "pillar" in your Strong's Concordance and see that it means "platform".
5  And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh
.The sound of wings was that of the wings of the wheels as they hovered.
6  And it came to pass, that when he had commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheels, from between the cherubims; then he went in, and stood beside the wheels.
7  And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out.
After awhile this Book of Ezekiel isn't so hard to read, is it? (Of course the old English style of the KJV leaves a lot to be desired for English readers today.)
8  ¶And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man's hand under their wings.
9  And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels was as the colour of a beryl stone.
As we learned in chapter one, the word "colour" is the Hebrew word "ayin", which means "appeared to the eye as" or we could say "looked like". These vehicles were brilliant and shiny like a gem such as a topaz.
10  And as for their appearances, they four had one likeness, as if a wheel had been in the midst of a wheel.
Don't let this be difficult. Just picture these four escort ships in formation below and around the "mother ship". Ezekiel couldn't say it like that because he never saw Star Trek or Star Wars, although what he saw far surpasses any movie you or I have ever seen.
11  When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.
The flying wheels were horizontal (on their sides), not vertical like the wheels of a cart. They flew in any direction while the emblems on their wings, like an American Eagle insignia on a jet, and the cherubs inside, faced forward and didn't turn as the vehicles moved any which way they wanted to, kind of like a helicopter can maneuver. This was definitely an unusual sight to a man 2500 years ago.
12  And their whole body, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, even the wheels that they four had.
They had windows, call them portholes, all around them. That's what "full of eyes" means.
13  As for the wheels, it was cried unto them in my hearing, O wheel.
"O wheel" in Hebrew translates to "Whirl, whirl" or "Whirl-Wheels" as one translation has it. Here's the Hebrew from Strong's:

galgal, gal-gal', Hebrew 1534; by reduplication from Hebrew 1556 (galal); a wheel; by analogy a whirlwind; also dust (as whirled) :- heaven, rolling thing, wheel.

Look! The standard of Judah is the lion, the standard of Reuben is a man, the standard of Ephraim is the bull, ox, and the standard of Dan is the eagle.

The encampment from the Book of Numbers chapter 2:

15  And the cherubims were lifted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river of Chebar.
This is the very same thing Ezekiel saw in chapter 1.
16  And when the cherubims went, the wheels went by them: and when the cherubims lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the same wheels also turned not from beside them.
This simply means that the cherubims and the wheels rose up together, obviously because the cherubims were in the vehicles (see chapter 1 and next verse). And when they rose up they raised their landing gear!
17  When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them.
They were inside the flying discs (I'm staying away from the phrase "flying saucers" lest people accuse me of being "nuts". They have enough cause already without me heaping coals of fire upon my own head.).
18  Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
Our Father is always situated above for He is the One on high.
19  And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD'S house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
They raised their landing gear and they took off! Then they hovered at door of the "east" gate of the temple below the main vehicle before lifting off.

Note: Did you know that if you look out from east gate of the temple you will see the river Kedron and the Mount of Olives?

20  This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river of Chebar; and I knew that they were the cherubims.
This is exactly the same thing that Ezekiel saw in chapter 1.
21  Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.
22  And the likeness of their faces was the same faces which I saw by the river of Chebar, their appearances and themselves: they went every one straight forward.
And so Ezekiel, the watchman of God, was privileged to see the Chariot of Israel and the cherubims who piloted it (look up the word "horsemen" in the following verse). This is the same Chariot of Israel that was sent for Elijah (remember he was taken up in a "whirlwind") and Elisha saw it and recognized the insignias of Israel, i.e. the Eagle, the Man, the Ox, and the Lion.

What an exciting time we live in! The watchmen of this generation are being strengthened even as we read this study of His enlightening Word. He has foretold us all things and we thank Him so much for that.

2 Kings 6:8  ¶Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.
9  And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
10  And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.
11  Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?
12  And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.
13  ¶And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
14  Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.
15  And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
16  And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
