My Note: Moses' father in law was not a Kenite, as per descendant of Cain Ref. Scripture: Judges 1:16, Exodus 18:1, & Genesis 25:1q
Moses' father in law was not a Kenite, as in son of Cain, as Judges 1:16 implies. He was a Kenite only because he lived in Kenite territory.
Scripture: Judges 1:16 And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
Exodus 18:1 ¶When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
Genesis 25:1 ¶Then
again Abraham took a wife, and her name was
Keturah.
2 And she bare him
Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian,
and Ishbak, and Shuah
He was a descendant of Abraham through his son Midian although not Sarah, but definitely not a descendant of Cain!
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
