My Note:  Thou shalt utterly destroy them; Ref. Scripture  Deuteronomy 20:17

 Thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites;

The Lord comanded Moses:
Scripture:  Deuteronomy 20:17  But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:

Deuteronomy 20:10  ¶When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.
11  And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.
12  And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:
13  And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:
14  But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
15  Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations.
But of these nations thou shalt utterly destroy them:
16 But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:
17  But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee:
18 That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God.
19  When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege:

Exodus 34:11  Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

Forty years after the Moses lead the ancient Israelites out of Egypt Joshua pased on the following instructions to them before they entered the promised land.
Joshua 3:9  And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.
10  And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
11  Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.
12  Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.
13  And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.

Why? Because of the angels!

Genesis 6:1  ¶And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
2  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3  ¶And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4  ¶There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6  ¶And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

This would include the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites who came into being after the flood.

Complete text: Exodus 34:10  ¶And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.
11  Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
12  Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee:
13  But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves:
14  For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
15  Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
16  And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.
17  Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.

These people were the product of another eruption of angels after the flood.

The Lord needed to preserve a line of Noah's offspring who remained perfect in their generations and not contaminated by the blood of angels who left their first estate.

A pure bloodline back to Adam and Eve whereby "Christ the Savior" would be born.

Be sure to log unto and read #4167 for further information about the angels who left their first estate and the reason Satan wanted to contaminate the bloodline of the whole of Adams descendants.

All the descendants of the eighth day creation.

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
