My Note: Israel and Judah are still separate nations in the eyes of God, they are not all Jews! Ref. Scripture Jeremiah 31:27-34
Today, our preachers lump them together and call them all Jews but God still refers to them as separate peoples!
Jeremiah 5:10 ¶Go ye up upon her
walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements;
for they are not the LORD'S.
11 For the house of Israel and the house
of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me, saith the LORD.
12 They have belied the LORD, and said,
It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword
nor famine:
13 And the prophets shall become wind,
and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.
14 Wherefore thus saith the LORD God
of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy
mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
15 Lo, I will bring a nation upon you
from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it
is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither
understandest what they say.
16 Their quiver is as an open sepulchre,
they are all mighty men.
17 And they shall eat up thine harvest,
and thy bread, which thy sons and thy daughters should eat: they shall
eat up thy flocks and thine herds: they shall eat up thy vines and thy
fig trees: they shall impoverish thy fenced cities, wherein thou trustedst,
with the sword.
18 Nevertheless in those days, saith
the LORD, I will not make a full end with you.
19 And it shall come to pass, when ye
shall say, Wherefore doeth the LORD our God all these things unto us? then
shalt thou answer them, Like as ye have forsaken me, and served strange
gods in your land, so shall ye serve strangers in a land that is not yours.
Scripture: Jeremiah 31:27
¶Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that
I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of
man, and with the seed of beast.
28 And it shall come to
pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break
down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch
over them, to build, and to plant, saith the LORD.
29 In those days they
shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's
teeth are set on edge.
30 But every one shall
die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth
shall be set on edge.
31 Behold, the days come,
saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with
the house of Israel, and
with
the house of Judah:
Question:
What does the house of Israel have to do with Judaism?
Answer:
Nothing.
Only descendants of Jacob's/Israel's son Judah and people who lived in Judea are Jews!
32 Not according to the
covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by
the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they
brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But
this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After
those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and
write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach
no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know
the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest
of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will
remember their sin no more.
Did
I read that wrong? Didn't the Lord just say, the "house of Israel" will
be his people/Christians?
He
didn't mention Jews! or the "house of Judah"
Jeremiah 31:35 ¶Thus saith the LORD,
which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon
and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the
waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
36 If those ordinances depart from before
me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being
a nation before me for ever.
37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above
can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath,
I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done,
saith the LORD.
38 Behold, the days come, saith the
LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel
unto the gate of the corner.
39 And the measuring line shall yet
go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to
Goath.
40 And the whole valley of the dead
bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron,
unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the
LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
Jeremiah 33:7
And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to
return, and will build them, as at the first.
8 And I will cleanse them
from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will
pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they
have transgressed against me.
9 And it shall be to me
a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth,
which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear
and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure
unto it.
10 ¶Thus saith the
LORD; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate
without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the
streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant,
and without beast,
11 The voice of joy, and
the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the
bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for
the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall
bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause
to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.
12 Thus saith the LORD
of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without
beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds
causing their flocks to lie down.
13 In the cities of the
mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and
in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the
cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that
telleth them, saith the LORD.
14
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing
which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
15 In those days, and
at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto
David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
Jeremiah 50:1 ¶The
word that the LORD spake against Babylon and against the land of the Chaldeans
by Jeremiah the prophet.
2 Declare ye among the
nations, and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and conceal not:
say, Babylon is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken in pieces;
her idols are confounded, her images are broken in pieces.
3 For out of the north
there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate,
and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both
man and beast.
4 In those days, and in
that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they
and the children of Judah together,
going
and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God.
Now He is including Israelites from the "house of Judah" but, He is still refering to them as seperate houses.
Jeremiah 50:20 In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I reserve.
Jeremiah 50:33 ¶Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together: and all that took them captives held them fast; they refused to let them go.
He is refering to them as two seperate houses, not as one people at the still to come day of judgment; no, not as the people we call Jews today!
He will join them together again but hasn't yet!
Let's
read in Ezekiel chapter 37 where God now tells Ezekiel
that
once the two sticks have been shown to be two separate sticks,
they
will be joined together and become just one stick.
This
is prophecy and will happen at the restoration in the Millennium,
which
begins at the 7th Trump, the return of Jesus Christ.
Ezekiel 37:15
¶The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
16
Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For
Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another
stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all
the house of Israel his companions:
17 And
join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine
hand.
18 And
when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou
not shew us what thou meanest by these?
19 Say
unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph,
which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows,
and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them
one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
20 And
the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.
21 And
say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children
of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather
them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
22 And
I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and
one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations,
neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
23 Neither
shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their
detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save
them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will
cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
24 And
David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd:
they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
25 And
they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein
your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their
children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David
shall be their prince for ever.
26 Moreover
I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant
with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary
in the midst of them for evermore.
27 My tabernacle
also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my
people.
28 And
the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary
shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
