Leviticus
Chapter
2
Sweet savor offerings: [2] the meat
offering (v.1). (See Lev.6:14-23)
Leviticus
6:14 ¶And this is the law of the
meat offering: the sons of Aaron shall offer it before the LORD, before
the altar. 15
And he shall take of it his handful, of the flour of the meat offering,
and of the oil thereof, and all the frankincense which is upon the meat
offering, and shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour, even the
memorial of it, unto the LORD. 16
And the remainder thereof shall Aaron and his sons eat: with unleavened
bread shall it be eaten in the holy place; in the court of the tabernacle
of the congregation they shall eat it. 17
It shall not be baken with leaven. I
have given it unto them for their portion of my offerings made by fire;
it is most holy, as is the sin offering, and as the trespass offering.
18 All
the males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it. It shall be a statute
for ever in your generations concerning the offerings of the LORD made
by fire: every one that toucheth them shall be holy. 19
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 20
This is the offering of Aaron and of his sons, which they shall offer
unto the LORD in the day when he is anointed; the tenth part of an ephah
of fine flour for a meat offering perpetual, half of it in the morning,
and half thereof at night. 21 In
a pan it shall be made with oil; and when it is baken, thou shalt bring
it in: and the baken pieces of the meat offering shalt thou offer for a
sweet savour unto the LORD. 22
And the priest of his sons that is anointed in his stead shall offer
it: it is a statute for ever unto the LORD; it shall be wholly burnt. 23
For every meat offering for the priest
shall be wholly burnt: it shall not be eaten.
Leviticus
2:1 ¶And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD,
his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and
put frankincense thereon:
2
And he shall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests: and he shall take thereout
his handful of the flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the
frankincense thereof; and the priest shall burn the memorial of it upon
the altar, to be an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD:
3
And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons': it
is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.
4
And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it
shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened
wafers anointed with oil.
5
And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan, it shall be of fine
flour unleavened, mingled with oil.
6
Thou shalt part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon: it is a meat offering.
7
And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in the fryingpan, it shall
be made of fine flour with oil.
8
And thou shalt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto
the LORD: and when it is presented unto the priest, he shall bring it unto
the altar.
9
And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and
shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet
savour unto the LORD.
10
And that which is left of the meat offering shall be Aaron's and his sons':
it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.
11
¶No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made
with leaven: [*] for
ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made
by fire.
[*] Leaven, as a fermenting
process, is uniformly regarded in Scripture as typifying he presence of
impurity or evil (Ex.12:15,19; 13:7; Lev.2:11; Dt.16:4; Mt.16:6-12; Mk.8:15;
Lk.12:1; 1 Cor.5:6-9; Gal.5:9)
Exodus
12:15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened
bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses:
for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh
day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
Exodus
12:19 Seven days shall there be no leaven
found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even
that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he
be a stranger, or born in the land.
Exodus
13:7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten
seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither
shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.
Leviticus
2:11 ¶No
meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made with leaven:
[*] for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering
of the LORD made by fire.
Deuteronomy
16:4 And there shall be no leavened
bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any
thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain
all night until the morning.
Matthew
16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take
heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. 7
And
they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no
bread. 8
Which
when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason
ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?9
Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five
thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? 10
Neither
the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11
How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning
bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the
Sadducees?
12
Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of
bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Mark
8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take
heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
Luke
12:1 ¶In the mean time, when there
were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that
they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of
all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Corinthians 5:6 Your glorying is not
good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7
¶Purge
out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened.
For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8
Therefore let us keep the feast, not with
old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with
the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9
¶I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

5:9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole

Leviticus 2 continued
(Offering of first fruits)
Leviticus
2:12 As for the oblation of the firstfruits, ye shall offer them
unto the LORD: but they shall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.
13
And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither
shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from
thy meat offering: [*]
with all thine
offerings thou shalt offer salt.
[*] Salt used in all offerings.
Compare Num.18:19; 2 Chr.13:5; Ezek.43:24; Mk.9:49-50; Col.4:6.
Numbers
18:19 All the heave offerings of the
holy things, which the children of Israel offer unto the LORD, have I given
thee, and thy sons and thy daughters with thee, by a statute for ever:
it is a covenant of salt for ever before the LORD unto thee and to thy
seed with thee.
2
Chronicles 13:5 Ought ye not to know
that the LORD God of Israel gave the kingdom over Israel to David for ever,
even to him and to his sons by a covenant of salt?
Ezekiel
43:24 And thou shalt offer them before
the LORD, and the priests shall cast salt upon them, and they shall offer
them up for a burnt offering unto the LORD.
Mark
9:49 For every one shall be salted with
fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. 50
Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his
saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have
peace one with another.
Colossians
4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace,
seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Leviticus
2:14 And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the
LORD, thou shalt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears
of corn dried by the fire, even corn beaten out of full ears.
15
And thou shalt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meat
offering.
16
And the priest shall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof,
and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an
offering made by fire unto the LORD.
History shows that the northern 10 tribes migrated north over the Caucasus Mountains (hence called Caucasians) and became known as the Cimmerians, the Celts, the Saxons ('Saac's sons), etc., and settled in western Europe, the British isles, and later many migrated to the Americas.
