Pamphlet 1932 Hebrews kc 4-2
Do you know why He endured the direct face to face temptation by Satan and then suffered humiliating ridicule and a bloody scourging and the severe cruelty of death by crucifixion on a Roman cross? There is more to it than most of us have been taught.
In our next study Paul is going to explain to us not only how that Christ, by the loving grace of God, was made a little lower than the angels for the purpose of paying the price on the cross as the "perfect", unblemished sacrifice for our sins, but why it was that He had to "suffer" as He did. Do you know why He endured the direct face to face temptation by Satan and then suffered humiliating ridicule and a bloody scourging and the severe cruelty of death by crucifixion on a Roman cross? There is more to it than most of us have been taught.1 Cor. 15:22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.[23] But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
[24] Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
Paul shall complete the picture for us to "see" in our next study. Don't miss this one!
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
