Pamphlet 1924 Hebrews kc 1-2
We hope and pray that you can "relate to" and partake of the incredible dinner Paul has prepared for us.
Let us now begin our study of the great "transition" book, the Book of Hebrews, wherein Paul will document with certitude to those who know the Old Testament that Jesus Christ was indeed the Messiah. We hope and pray that you can "relate to" and partake of the incredible dinner he has prepared for us. We thank our Father and ask for His spirit of wisdom to guide us, in Yeshua's name.
Our Father has recorded for us in His Word, for our admonition and edification, the many times (sundry times) and the many ways (divers manners) throughout history that He has spoken unto the "fathers", our forefathers, by the prophets! If we have been diligent and taken the time, or will begin today to take the time, from our busy schedules to study and understand what was said by those prophets, then we can come to better know and understand and yes, love the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, Anointed One, Emmanuel, the Son of God, who came to dwell in the flesh and pay the price on the cross for us. So consider the question,"Have you read with understanding what God said to our fathers by the prophets?"Hebrews 1:1
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
And so it is that we have made the transition from hearing the words of the prophets to "hearing" the very Son of God, the Spirit that moved upon the waters and rejuvenated this earth following the destruction of the first earth age. He is the Word, the Logos, the very One who created the heavens and the earth and the "worlds", which are the "aeons", even the three earth ages. He made all things and came into this world of darkness and has shed His light upon our hearts and minds.[2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Col. 1:16-17 " For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: [17] And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist."John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.[2] The same was in the beginning with God.
[3] All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
Do you know why He created all things? The answer is found in Rev. 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." You see, His pleasure, His delight (Prov. 8:31), is the love of His children and to give them of His inheritance.
Genesis 1:2 "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters."[4] In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.[5] And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
We shall "see" in our next study how that One, the express image of God, the one by whom all things consist, became flesh and by himself purged our sins, and now sits on the right hand of the Majesty on high. How exciting and how precious is the Word of God. Hang with us through this great Book of Hebrews and you will be blessed and filled with meat and made stronger indeed!
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
