Jesus Christ has something to say to all the churches of TODAY
John now addresses The Seven Churches.
Jesus Christ has something to say to all the churches of TODAY, not 96 A.D., and some of it isn't very pretty. Did we not just read in verse three that this is prophecy?Rev.1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
Yes we did! (here it is again) Rev.1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Again,
John was taken to the future from where he writes and the churches of today
are all present and accounted for.
They
are described by that which they teach and only two of them are found to
be in good standing. If you find you are aligned
with one of the other five, then it's time to switch churches, don't you
think?
Also, "7" in Biblical numerics denotes spiritual completeness (see appendix 10 if you have a Companion Bible), meaning ALL churches are being addressed.
Then too, if you look at a map and note the location of these churches, you will see that they basically form a circle, another symbol of completeness.
The point is, your church is identified in chapters two and three of this book.
This will be your opportunity to test its fruits!
