Pamphlet 1665 Nahum kc 4
Do not let these "Chariots of Fire" be a mystery to you for God's Word identifies them in the first (and tenth) chapters of the Book of Ezekiel! see pamphlet #1220.
We read in our last study that our Father is going to take vengeance on His enemies and "break the yoke" (vs. 1:13) from off His people. That happens when the King of kings and Lord of lords returns at the sound of the 7th Trump and consumes by the fire of His wrath all that is evil and crushes to pieces the stronghold of the New World Order. The question is, "How many Christians do you know are aware of the fact that right here in the 7th book of the Minor Prophets, the "book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite", we have been given the privilege to "See" into the future and get a little glimpse of what happens when that "Day of Vengeance" arrives?
One thing is for sure, though, and that is that the "Day of Vengeance" SHALL COME, so as we begin the second chapter of Nahum, we see that God informs those of the NWO, Babylon the great, to muster all the might and power and collective strength they have because they are going to need it when the LORD God "gets in their face". "Show me what you've got Nineveh!" Of course all they have and all they can assemble will do them absolutely no good against the Power of His Might!
Again, this is addressed to Nineveh (Babylon the great of the end time) telling them they had better prepare ALL their might and fortify their strongholds because the time is soon coming when they will face Him. The phrase "keep the munition" is an expression which means to "fence the defences" or "fortify the fortress", but it will be to no avail because God is going to come against their stronghold and consume it and "dash it to pieces".Nahum 2:1
He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.
The word "breaketh" used here in Jeremiah 23 is "puwts" in Hebrew, the same word translated "dasheth in pieces" in Nahum 2:1, and the word "rock" means a lofty "craggy rock" as in a "fortress or stronghold". In other words, Jesus Christ is returning to crush the New World Order, to free His people from their captivity, to "break the yoke" from off them, and to restore the heritage of His people.Jeremiah 23:29
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Note: Heb. 12:29 reads, "For our God is a consuming fire". Therefore as we just read, His "word (is) like as a fire " (Jer. 23:29) and He makes "His ministers a flame of fire" (Heb. 1:7).
Once again, Nineveh better gather all her forces and "watch the way" (watch out) because the LORD is coming to dash her wicked one world system to pieces and break the yoke from off His people! Here we also see the alternating structure and subjects of the Book of Nahum, "the day of vengeance" upon His enemies by the all-powerful hand of Almighty God and the "day of comfort" for His people"!
What this verse says is that the LORD is returning to restore His people of the natural seed line of Jacob who do not even know who they are, i.e. that they are descendants of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. Why do they not know? Because the "emptiers" have consumed their "vine", meaning they have destroyed the "branches" of their family trees, the branches of that vine, their heritage, i.e. the knowledge that they are His children of the true House of Israel. Here is how Dr. Moffat translates Nahum 2:2:Nahum 2:2
For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
The emptiers, the plunderers, are also called "locusts" who by the time God pours out His wrath on His enemies at the 7th Trump and 7th Vial, will have completely eaten away and consumed not only the heritage of His people* but the very vineyard itself.Nahum 2:2 "But the Eternal restores the vine of Jacob as the vine of Israel, that the plunderers plundered, breaking down the branches." (Moffat)

Now let us see what might and strength the power of Satan as the false-christ and his troops have been able to muster.
The "shield of his mighty men" is their "buckler", i.e. their protector (defender) who is made red, red with the blood of saints. That is what Christ is coming to avenge and to bring those "mighty men" to justice for! Remember the words of the saints in Rev. 6:10 "And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" Soon, soon! There will be Baby Boomers, those of the generation of the fig tree, who shall see the return of Jesus Christ.Nahum 2:3
The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
You see, our Father has not forgotten the deeds of the wicked and He has "prepared a day" for His vengeance and their just recompense! But notice that at that time, i.e. in the day of his preparation, that the "chariots" shall be with "flaming torches"! The word "chariots" in Hebrew is "rekeb' and it means a "vehicle".
Do not let these "Chariots of Fire" be a mystery to you for God's Word identifies that which is unidentified to the world! Therefore a description of what these "vehicles" are (which are simply highly polished bronze circular flying vehicles) can be easily ascertained by reading the first (and tenth) chapters of the Book of Ezekiel! You see, when Satan and his angels are cast out of heaven to this earth (Rev. 12:7-9) they will have these "chariots with flaming torches"! Nahum documents that for us!chariots = rekeb, reh'-keb, Hebrew 7393; from Hebrew 7392 (rakab); a vehicle; by implication a team; by extensive cavalry; by analogy a rider, i.e. the upper millstone :- chariot, (upper) millstone, multitude [from the margin], wagon.
And as we read in the next verse, these "chariots" shall "rage", as in "run madly" and "JUSTLE" which means to "run to and fro" and they "shall run like the lightnings" meaning they are "lightning fast"!
If you are one of the "son and daughters" in these last days spoken of by Joel the prophet and by Peter on Pentecost Day in Acts 2 who "See (the) visions" of the prophets, i.e. understand the words and visions of the prophets such as Nahum and Ezekiel, then when you get to the Book of Revelation, which is like a summary of the words of the prophets, you will have no problem understanding what is written there. For example, these chariots (with wings - see Ezk. 1*) are also mentioned in Rev. 9 as being part of the "battle" array of the locust army, who are the "they" in the next vs. (Rev. 9:9) who come with the Assyrian (Apollyon the false-christ) when he is cast out of heaven to this earth and claims that he is Jesus Christ.[4] The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
*Note: You can read about the "highly polished bronze" vehicle in which our Father appeared to Ezekiel in the first chapter of Ezekiel at pamphlet #1220.
Rev. 9:9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
The "breastplates" referred to in this verse are not "armor" but are part of a priest's outfit, like the breastplates the Levitical priest's wore which contained the 12 gemstones of the House of Israel. The fact that these fallen angels who are cast out of heaven with Satan wear "breastplates" lets us know that these "men", called "messengers" in the last verse of this second chapter of Nahum, will appear as "angels of light", i.e. as ministers and priests of Christ though they will be priests of the abominable one who comes CLAIMING to be Jesus Christ!
Let us return to Nahum and see how Satan and his troops make out on that "day of vengeance" prepared for them:
He, the king of Assyria (antichrist), shall recount (bethink of himself) worthies (nobles, generals who may assemble their troops). In other words, the king of Babylon amasses his hand picked generals and they begin to charge ahead "rushing to the wall" for protection and to defend Babylon. But alas, this they shall do in vain for as we read in Nahum 1:9 "Who can imagine (form devices or weapons) against the LORD?" It is written, and therefore it shall come to pass, that He "will make an UTTER END" of Nineveh!Nahum 2:5
He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.
We shall even "See" in our next study, in the last verse of this chapter, that those lightning fast "chariots" that "go like the devil", to and fro, will be burned up in a puff of smoke!
What a day that will be!
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
