Pamphlet 1552 1 John kc 4-1
Do you have the desire to know and understand the Word of God?
Do you hunger and thirst after righteousness?
In other words, do you abide in His Word, forsaking the traditional teachings of men and their church systems?
Then as one of the Children of Light and not of Darkness "you have an unction (an anointing) from the Holy One" (Jn. 2:20) and you are able through that spirit to understand the things "from the beginning", a phrase which the apostle John has referred to 7 times already in this great epistle that he has written to the "little ones", to God's elect of these "last times" (Jn. 2:18).
You see, in order to understand how it is now and even why it is that we are here on this earth walking under the sun in these flesh bodies, one MUST understand how it was "In the beginning", including the events that transpired between Genesis 1:1 when our Father created this beautiful planet to be inhabited (Isa. 45:18) and Gen. 1:2 when He reduced its surface to the state of utter waste and desolation, "tohu va bohu" in Hebrew, at the rebellion of Satan.
Note: For a detailed study of the
events that happened in the beginning, in the "world that then was" spoken
of by Peter in 2 Pet. 3:6, read Plan
of God
Additionally, one must also have an understanding of the beginning of this present earth age, which begins in Gen. 1:3, and how it was that sin entered into this world, and who those Children of Disobedience are (Eph. 2:1) who carry forth the spirit of antichrist even in these last days.
John has already warned us that Satan as the false-christ shall come but even now, in these last days, there are many antichrists.
They are the children of the wicked one and they are "not of us", i.e. they are not of the children of God.
They are children of another father, even the father of lies, Satan himself.
In this 3rd chapter of 1st John, the beloved apostle is going to describe the characteristics of BOTH the children of God AND the children of the devil and make it crystal clear to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear that BOTH are present (manifested) at this time.
It is as it was in the beginning, even from the time of Cain and Abel to whom John will make reference.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
