Obah kc 2-2
Learn what Matthew 24:7 really means.
The word "ambassador" used here means a "throe" which is a "painful struggle". Remember Genesis 25:22-23 concerning Jacob and Esau in Rebecca's womb: "And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD. [23] And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger." Here is Strong's definition of "ambassador":Obadiah 1:1 The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.

It
is the period of the "Rumours (or threat) of All-out Nuclear War",
the
struggle called the "Cold War"
which
was between Esau and Jacob, i.e. the USSR and the USA.
Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
What
would follow the Cold War would be "globalization"
and
the bringing forth of the beast of Rev. 13:1
which
is called the New World Order.
The
following is an excerpt concerning "globalization"
from
a series we did on prophecy in April of 2000.
Have you seen or heard any threats of World Wars lately? Not really! Certainly not as a "conditioning" on a daily basis! Today we have an "International Community" which President Clinton acknowledged when he rhetorically asked the question in his State of the Union address a few years ago concerning Saddam Hussein, and I quote, "Who can stand against the wishes of the International Community?" The words of Rev. 13:4 immediately came to mind which reads, "... Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" Then too, our Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, constantly made references to the International Community.
People
may fear terrorism to a point,
and
violence in the streets,
but
there are no rumours of large scale wars like a WW III looming about!
The
demise of the U.S.S.R.
and
the tearing down of the Berlin Wall on November 11th & 12th, 1989,
ended
the Cold War, which ended the "rumours of wars" in this verse.
But
notice that even the end of the "wars" and the "rumours of wars"
did
not signal the end or the beginning of the sorrows (verse 8)!
However,
what follows in the next verse DOES,
so
we MUST understand what it means!
.Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
