Pamphlet 1478 Hos 20-3
The following verse makes it
very clear,
using simple everyday examples
that everyone is familiar with,
exactly what a person, even
a nation,
will amount to if he or she
embraces the traditions of men and relies on his or her own understanding...
They shall be...Hosea 13:3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
... like the morning fog burned off by the sun,
... like
the dew dried up by the first rays of sunlight,
... like
the chaff blown away by the wind,
... like
the smoke rising into thin air.
Remember, you shall reap what you sow.
Forsake His Word and "sow to the
wind" and you "will reap a whirlwind"
of fury from your Father (Hosea
8:7).
[4] Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
Sometimes is seems that if brains
were gasoline
our people wouldn't have enough
to power a flea on a motorcycle twice around the inside of a Cheerio.
You see, there is NO release from
Egypt, i.e.
NO release from bondage, either
Nationally or Individually, apart from the One and only Savior.
If you want to be free then you must know the truth, for
only He can set you free.
John 17:17 "Sanctify them through
thy truth: thy word is truth."
Therefore, you can kiss all the golden calves you want
but bull will always be bull!
Read and understand the HIStory of what He has done for us, His people!
Hosea 13:5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
Which is it?
If you truly believe that He did,
then you would believe He is quite
capable now, wouldn't you?
Since we are doing some recapping
here,
recall to mind once again 1 Cor.
10:11 regarding the historical types,
the ensamples of old.
Then know that this great land IS the "wilderness" and
it IS a land of great (spiritual) drought,
even a valley of dry bones (Ezek. 37).
However, though we are blessed materially more than any
other nation in the history of mankind,
we have forgotten His Word.
[6] According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
But the great lesson we should have learned is when our
people
become prosperous though His blessings they become "spoiled
brats"
and become a bunch of "fat heads"
and they begin to lean on their
own understand and leave off studying and following after the Word of God.
The time of peace and prosperity is therefore a greater test of faith and love than adversity itself.
Most men will cry out to God when they are hung upside in a well.
But when they are standing atop the well and it is pumping
oil
and depositing great wealth into their pockets, will
they then cry out to God? "Therefore have they forgotten me."
So... pay day is coming.
[7] Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
[8] I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
