You
see, you can be a fine upstanding member in your church and yet be a whore,
an
adulterer (idolater) in the eyes of God!
What is it that our Father desires from His children?
If
you are a parent yourself then the answer to this question is intuitive
for
He wants the same thing from His children as you want from yours.
In
other words,
He
wants His children to love Him and listen to His wisdom, His Word,
so
they can be happy and successful,
which
thus gives Him great pleasure and joy,
which
is WHY He created His children in the first place
(Rev. 4:11 "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.) The question is, "Have you given Him much pleasure lately?"
Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
That's
exactly what this verse implies.
Read
it again!
Hosea 6:6 For
I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than
burnt offerings.
I
In
fact, this is the "root" of the message of Hosea,
the
book of the salvation of His children.
You
see, you can be a fine upstanding member in your church and yet be a whore,
an
adulterer (idolater) in the eyes of God!
How so?
Because
you listen to men and do what the church system teaches you to do
instead
of seeking Him and receiving your instructions directly from His Word.
In
our very first study of this Book of Hosea (salvation)
we
learned that although salvation is open to everyone
of
every race, color and creed, through the death and blood sacrifice of Jesus
Christ,
this
Book of Hosea is specifically written to and concerns
the
salvation of the 10 tribes (so-called "lost tribes") of the House of Israel.
Unfortunately,
the majority of those peoples
among
those tribes
do
not even know who they are
and
many will remain blinded to their rich heritage
until
the sound of the 7th Trump when Jesus Christ returns and their eyes are
opened.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
