This chapter in Hosea is actually self explanatory if you know how it was in the beginning. So... to the garden we go...

It is also written in Rev. 22:1 that throughout eternity we will receive "fruit" from that Tree of Life: "In the midst of the street of it [New Jerusalem], and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."

So what happened to Adam and Eve after they ate the evil fruit from the corrupt tree in the midst of the garden? It is important that we take the time to understand what happened in the beginning, for the rest of this chapter in Hosea is actually self explanatory if you know how it was in the beginning.

So... to the garden we go...

Genesis 3:2
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

[3] But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

This is the basic salvation message, from the very beginning, stated in the negative. If (1) you follow Satan (antichrist) and (2) you are seduced by him, then (3) you will perish because you "believed not" the Word of God!

It must be pointed out that the word "touch" in Hebrew has to do with "seduction".

Here is Strong's definition.

touch = naga`, naw-gah', Hebrew 5060; a primitive root; properly to touch, i.e. lay the hand upon (for any purpose; euphemism, to lie with a woman); by implication to reach (figurative to arrive, acquire); violently, to strike (punish, defeat, destroy, etc.) :- beat, (× be able to) bring (down), cast, come (nigh), draw near (nigh), get up, happen, join, near, plague, reach (up), smite, strike, touch.
Now, here is what the first false preacher of God's Word had to say to Eve, for you can be sure He represented himself as one possessing great spiritual wisdom and knowledge:
[4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Note: It should be understood that no one had "died" up to this point which is key to understanding why it is that the sons of God must be "born from above" and dwell in flesh bodies and experience the first death, the death of the flesh, BEFORE judgment! Hebrews 9:27 "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." Then they will know from their flesh experience what God is talking about concerning the second death, the spiritual death of the soul.
[5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Satan used "religion", the profane reasoning of the Word of God, to deceive and seduce mother Eve. He told her that you do not need the Word of God to discern between Good and Evil, the Holy and the Profane, The Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, i.e. between Antichrist and Jesus Christ. (Hum! Isn't that what most of our Christian preachers are telling us today? "Just believe and be saved," they say, but what if you aren't able to recognize the difference between Christ and anti-christ when they both come!) That ability to "discern" between the Holy and the Profane will be what is taught in the Millennium by God's elect to those of the House of Israel who are deceived by antichrist at the end of this earth age: Ezekiel 44:23 "And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean." (The problem is, if you don't learn to discern between the two now, during this flesh life, you will miss out on the first resurrection to eternal life, which is by grace for those who truly believe, and you will have to wait until the end on the 1000 year millennium and the "great white throne of judgment" where eternal life will again be granted, based on your works during the millennium. That is the second resurrection) No matter what your preacher tells you, you can't claim your salvation is sealed because you believe in Christ if you don't care enough about him, now, to learn to recognize that Satan isn't Him when he, Satan, comes to earth as anti-christ claiming to be your savior! If you don't care enough to study His Word it must be because you don't really believe in Christ; therefore, your salvation is not sealed. Your preacher had better properly define the word believe?

Do you think all who claim to be saved please Jesus Christ? Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. They come in his name and do everything but His will! They use His name (Christian) to teach, but they do not teach His Word chapter by chapter and verse by verse, but rather teach the traditions of men. They do all sorts of good deeds but they do not do the work which their Father has ordained for the sons and daughters of this final generation, and that is to seek and understand the visions, i.e. His Word, and prophesy (teach) His Word to the true House of Israel. They claim to cast out devils and some even go so far as to knock people down on stage in the name of Jesus and yet the people who have followed them for years and years, who by now ought to be teachers themselves (Heb. 5:12), are still as Biblically illiterate as ever. [22] Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? "In that day" is the day of Christ's return! "Woe to the foolish prophets... (Ezek. 13:3)!" [23] And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. "Iniquity" is anomia in Greek (Strong's #458) which means transgression of the law, the Word of God. They lead our people astray by substituting church and a form of worship instead of teaching the Word of God chapter by chapter and verse by verse.

Christ never knew these Christians because they never knew Him. They never came to Him, to the Word of God, and got to know Him.

You see, one who says he or she knows Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God, and yet is ignorant of the Written Word of God, is a foolish person indeed! So we have been WARNED by Jesus Christ Himself that we must beware of the many false prophets in this generation and INFORMED that not all who call themselves Christian are going to make it into the kingdom of heaven.

As it is written, Satan's ceremonies and his sweet words of comfort and promise of reasoned salvation (i.e., you won't surely die if you are a good person) all sounded real good and reasonable to Eve. She started to listen to the corrupt tree's profane wisdom and told her husband Adam all about her newly found source of knowledge and wisdom.

[6] And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he* did eat.
Here we go again: (1) it looked and sounded good (like the correct interpretation of God's Word, i.e. like the good food, like the bread of life), (2) it "felt" real good, and (3) so it MUST BE the right tree to make one wise and lead one to salvation.

And so it is written that Eve was first to believe Satan's version of God's Word and she convinced Adam whereby they both consumed (ate) his "fast food", his garbage doctrines. Furthermore, Eve did "touch" the corrupt tree, i.e. she was physically seduced and became the first "harlot", the manifestation of being the first idolater. And as a result of her "seduction" she conceived and brought forth Cain, the offspring of the Serpent, the father of the Kenites.

That's right, Cain was not Adam's son which is why he is not listed in Adam's genealogy in chapter 5 of Genesis**. Cain's genealogy is listed in chapter 4 of Genesis.

Editors Note: Adam did surely die that day, i.e. he only lived 930 years in the flesh, (Genesis 5:5) 70 years short of one day as with the Lord. (2 Peter 3:8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
