Pamphlet 1406 Hos kc 2-4
Jehu made a covenant with an influential Kenite, a son of Cain (Kayin in Hebrew).
Formal alliances with Kenites
We see in this verse that God is going to take vengeance on the house of Jehu (which means "the living") because of the "blood" of Jezreel. What does that mean? What did Jehu do wrong, because if you read 2 Kings chapter 10 you will see that Jehu, as the king of Israel, was told to go cleanse the land and get rid of the Baal worshippers of the house of Ahab, which he did do even though he shed much blood?Hosea 1:4 And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
Here it is:
However, over and above the blood he shed in Jezreel, Jehu committed a far more serious offense. He formed an alliance with a man named Jehonadab, the son of Rechab, the son of Hemath! In other words, Jehu made a covenant with an influential Kenite, a son of Cain (Kayin in Hebrew).2 Kings 10:11
So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
Here is the documentation that Jehonadab, who was a son of Rechab, was a Kenite (a son of Cain):
Here is the account of Jehu's little covenant:1 Chron. 2:55
And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
In other words, Jehu asked Jehonadab, "Are you as loyal to me as I am to you?" And Jehonadab answered back, "You can trust me!"2 Kings 10:15
And when he [Jehu] was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart?...
You see, Jehonadab the kenite "was highly esteemed and possessed great influence in the country. Jehu saw in a moment the advantage that his cause would gain from the friendship and countenance of this venerable man in the eyes of the people, and accordingly paid the distinguished attention of inviting him to a seat in his chariot. 'Give me thine hand' was not to simply aid him in getting up, but was for a far more significant and important purpose - the giving, or rather joining hands, being the recognized mode of striking a league or covenant, as well as of testifying fealty to a new sovereign; accordingly it is said, 'he [Jehonadab] gave him [Jehu] his hand'." (Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown)... And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
So here we have Jehu, king of Israel, leading the charge with a kenite (a son of Cain) right by his side. Well, there is nothing new under the sun, is there? We see much of this same "hand shaking" and "bonding" with kenites (Jews - a large percentage of the people we know as Jews today are sons of Cain (kenites) in league with with a smaller percentage of sons of Judah) by many of our leaders today![16] And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.
Yep, Jehu did what God told him to, but with good old influential Jehonadab, the kenite, right by his side![17] And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the LORD, which he spake to Elijah.
Let's see how this story ends.
This is certainly good news for Jehu. Did he continue to listen to the LORD and walk in His ways?2 Kings 10:30
And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
Too bad. I guess Jehu's heart really was the same as Jehonadab's after all! You see, it is kenites of the house of Hemath, the direct descendants of Cain, who through their control and influence of the Four Hidden Dynasties shall afflict the House of Israel right up to the end of this flesh age. Even now at this very hour, the powerful economic and political stranglehold they have on the nations of the world, including this one, would shock most people.[31] But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.
God warned us if we let them in and covenant with them we would have nothing but trouble and more trouble: Amos 6:14 But, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hemath unto the river of the wilderness.
The word "afflict" is "lachats" in Hebrew, which means to press and to distress as in "to oppress". "Unto the river of the wilderness" is an expression which simply means "until the end". And it is the kenites, who do not believe in our God and His Christ, who carry forth the spirit of antichrist and bring about the "leaven" of idolatry into the house of Israel. That is why Christ said in Matthew 16:6 "Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees."
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
