What we are seeing here in the
sacrifices we are about to read of,
is an analogy representing
that which is spiritual.
Perhaps this would be a good place for the benefit of those who are not familiar with the ordinances and sacrifices in the Old Testament, to pause and understand a little about the different types of offerings. The following information is taken from appendixes 44 & 45 in the Companion Bible.
The burnt offering is called "Olah", so called from the Hiphil of the verb "'alah", to cause to ascend [as the flame and smoke ascend by burning]. In Greek holocausta, which conveys its meaning as being wholly burnt. And so it is that many will have stumbled and fallen and missed the mark, the First Resurrection. They will have come up short and will certainly need to make "Chattath", a sin offering. The sin offering is called "Chattath" in Hebrew, which comes from "chat'a", to sin by coming short of, by missing the mark in sins of commission. "Also of the feet, to stumble and fall (Prov. 19:2). Hence, morally, a coming short, blameworthiness - not necessarily wilful."
The trespass offering is called "Asham" which means to sin through error or ignorance. Cp. Lev. 4:13, 5:2, 3, Num 5:6, 7, Judg. 21:22. Asham is a breach of commandment, done in ignorance, but when the guilt is proved, requiring atonement."Asham" just needs an "e" added on the end and "ashame" will appear. Biblical illiteracy and belief in the traditions of men like the Rapture Theory, though done in ignorance, will nevertheless cause one to miss the mark! The Millennium will provide a 1000 years for them to make their trespass offering, the Asham.
The meat offering is "Minchah" which means a present, as such. Hence a gift offering, not necessarily to secure admittance, but to secure favor. It might be sacrifice by blood, or more generally and later, without blood. They must show their love, which is all that our Father wants from His children. But true love isn't just saying I love you, is it? Actions speak much louder that words! Many will say they love Him while they worship the false messiah.
The following few verses describe the cleansing of the Altar. Dr. Bullinger in the Companion Bible, pg. 1169, points out that in the Mosaic tabernacle, this ritual began with the consecration of the priests (Lev. 8:1-10), while here they are already consecrated (vv. 19, 26). Also, the offerings here (vv. 18-27) are National and Priestly (the Priest representing the Nation)... The sacrifices will not therefore be as when under the law. (That's correct. This is under the Law of the House.)Ezekiel 43:20
And thou shalt take of the blood thereof, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the settle, and upon the border round about: thus shalt thou cleanse and purge it.
This is in reference to Ex. 29:14 (see note in Companion Bible).[21] Thou shalt take the bullock also of the sin offering, and he shall burn it in the appointed place of the house, without the sanctuary.
[22] And on the second day thou shalt offer a kid of the goats without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they did cleanse it with the bullock.
[23] When thou hast made an end of cleansing it, thou shalt offer a young bullock without blemish, and a ram out of the flock without blemish.
Salt denotes an indissoluble alliance. See note in Companion Bible on Num. 18:19 "covenant of salt".[24] And thou shalt offer them before the LORD, and the priests shall cast salt upon them, and they shall offer them up for a burnt offering unto the LORD.
Seven denotes spiritual completeness. Remember the seven times cleansing of the land following the battle of Hamon-gog in chapter 39? The Millennium will be the time for the dead to cleanse and purify themselves and learn to discern between the holy and the profane.[25] Seven days shalt thou prepare every day a goat for a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bullock, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish.
Ezekiel 43:26
Seven days shall they purge the altar and purify it; and they shall consecrate themselves.
Now that the Altar has been consecrated and purified for seven days, beginning on the eighth day and so forward throughout the Millennium, the priests will make the burnt offerings and peace offerings and the Lord GOD will accept the people's love offerings and have their actions recorded in their book! Because you see, when the Millennium is over the "dead" (those alive with mortal souls during the Millennium) will be judged according to their WORKS, that which they will have demonstrated by their actions in exercising their free will and ability to discern between the holy and the profane (especially when he is released for a little season), which works are recorded in the books.[27] And when these days are expired, it shall be, that upon the eighth day, and so forward, the priests shall make your burnt offerings upon the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you, saith the Lord GOD.
Here it is: (this is after the 1000 years - see Rev. 20:7)
Notice that "books" is plural. Do you want to be one of those judged by your works at the end of the Millennium? Wouldn't you rather be part of that First Resurrection which comes with so many wonderful blessings? If you are, the second death, i.e. the judgment by works at the end of the Millennium which we just read about, does not apply because you are already holy, consecrated.Rev. 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Here is your documentation:
For the thousand years during the Millennium you will be doing the following:Rev. 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Ministering unto Christ and standing before Him to offer unto Him the love offerings and sacrifices.
Keeping His charge, i.e. carrying out His commands to the nations and enforcing the Law of the House with His rod of iron.Ezekiel 44:15
But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord GOD:
Make sure the people are taught and prepared and made spiritually ready for the final test when Satan is released.Ezekiel 44:16
They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.
Replace judge Judy with righteous judgments and replace the "We Think We're Supreme" Court decisions regarding prayer at football games.Ezekiel 44:23
And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.
We have already learned and it has been emphasized that only the priests of the Zadok (the just, i.e. God's elect) will be able to approach Jesus Christ during the Millennium.Ezekiel 44:24
And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths.
It should now be made clear what Christ means when He will say to those who went to church every week and claimed to be born again Christians while worshipping antichrist and now they wish to approach unto Him during the Millennium:
And so it will be that they must depart from Him for 1000 years and clean up their act and Learn to Discern so they don't have to do the Chattath anymore. Then we shall see!Matthew 7:23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy
Spirit, you accomplish both.
