You are personally responsible for your own salvation.
Philip. 2:12 says "...work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."
No
preacher or minister is going to answer for you
when
you stand before Christ,
and
you WILL stand before Him.
God knows if you really believe in Him!
Does He now see your face staring back at Him
as you search the Scriptures TO TRULY KNOW HIM,
or are you one of those claiming-to-be Christians
who attend church on Sunday, sing a few songs of praise,
place a few dollars in the felt lined plate;
Then go on your way never to think about Jesus until the next Sunday!
God
instructs us
to
Rightly Divide the Word of Truth.
2 Tim. 2:15
Study to
shew thyself approved unto God,
a workman
that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing
the word of truth.
This
implies that the truths presented in the Bible
require
dividing at times.
Does that make sense?
Yes,
if we don't do our homework
and study and rightly divide,
then we will most assuredly fall short
of the complete understanding
that our Father intended for us.
God expects us to work.
Some of you may ask,
"Why is it,
that the Bible is written in such a "divided" fashion
that one must go digging for the truth?"
The
answer is,
"so
that when you go digging for it,
you'll
find it!"
Proclaiming
Christians
that
don't hunger enough for the truth
to
dig for it
in
God's word,
won't
find it!
Be sure you are not one of the Christians
Jesus is talking to in Matthew 7:21-23
Matthew
7:21 Not every one that saith unto me,
Lord,
Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven,
but
he that doeth the will of my Father, who is in heaven.
[22]
Many will say to me at that day,
Lord,
Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name?
And
in thy name cast out demons?
And
in thy name done many wonderful works?
[23]
And then will I profess unto them,
I
never knew you;
depart
from me, ye that work iniquity.
You see, eternal life is not a "right"
and it is not an "entitlement program".
But, it was offered as GRACE FOR THOSE WHO TRULY LOVE HIM
AND BELIEVE in HIS SON JESUS CHRIST!
