Isaiah
Chapter 50

Caution to students of God's Word - Please remember two things when using our studies: #1. Our commentary is not God's Word. It is only our interpretation or understanding of "His Word" and even though we try our best to be accurate we may or may not be correct. #2. The King James translation, or any other translation, of the original Hebrew text has some words which were given different translations at different places probably because of the interpreters preconceived ideas of what they think God meant to say. For example: According to the notes in the "Drake's Annotated Reference Bible" the Hebrew word hayah in the KJV is Trans. (became) 67 times, (becamest or came to pass) 505 times, (become) 66 times, and (come to pass) 131 times, but for some reason in Genesis 1:2 it is translated (was)! That sure changes the way a person perceives the original creation of the earth, doesn't it?  Gen. 1:2 And the earth was (became) without form, ... Having said that, let us continue with our "Key Knowledge" lessons. These are pamphlets containing knowledge, we believe, you must have to fully and accurately unlock and understand the Word of God.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 16:13-14
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Isaiah

Chapter 50

"SIN: The Cause of the Separation."

"The Breach, the Cause [1-4]."

"The Breach, Healed by Messiah [11]"

Isaiah 50 gives the answer to the previous chapter, as to who's fault all the sin and contension that is brought upon man is. Is it God's fault, or is it your own falult? How did I get into all the trouble that I get into? In the long run, if we analyze factors of our problems, we would see that we just did not use very good common sense on our own part. Instead of facing up to the condition that you were in and making the proper correction, you sat by and allowed things to get worse through the passage of time. Most of the time you have no one to blame but yourself.

Then when things get too far out of hand, because of God's love for you, He has to step in and correct you. Each day the person pushes God just a little further to the point that they have reached the final limit. Then there has been a breach, and the cause for that breach has to be faced and tended to. This is what this chapter is all about, the causes of the breaches in our lives, and how they are healed, or mended.

Isaiah 50:1 "Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away."

God is asking this of the person that has reached the breaking point, the breach that has caused the separation between him or her and God. If you say that I divorced you, show men the divorce documents that states that I have put your mother away? If you say I sold you to one of my creditors, then to whom do you say that I am a creditor to?

Think about what this is saying. God is telling them that I didn't sell you, nor divorce you from myself, but it was you that caused the breach. You sold yourselves by your own sins, and it was you that caused the transgressions that put your mother away.

The "mother" in the Hebrew text is "Em, ame; a prime, the bonding force". It is you that caused the bonding force between you and God to be breached. If you say it was God's fault for this sin, then God is saying, show me the documentation for this separation. What God says He puts in writing, and what He puts in writing, that is what He abides with. When man goes against the writings of God which are written in His Word, then that person has caused the breach.

So if you want to know why your mother was put away [why the bond was broken], Go to the Word and the reason is given. When the House of Israel was divorced from God, there was written documentation, she was practicing idolatry. It was the House of Israel that was practicing idolatry and broke the marriage bonds that were between God and that nation of the House of Israel. This is what the book of Hosea is all about, it was God's warning in writing through the prophet Hosea that He was divorcing the House of Israel, those ten tribes to the north of Judah that Sennacherib took captive and scattered. Today we know them as "Caucasians" because their migrations through the Caucasus mountains scattered them to points all over the world.

Hosea tells of the two sisters that were symbolic of the House of Israel, and the House of Judah. Even though God sets up types of events that are warnings of things that shall happen again, God always abides by the principle of His laws and commandments. In as much as God sent His Son our Savior, and the Savior died, She or the House of Israel was free to marry again. She was free to return to the Heavenly Father. This in a natural way, introduces the role of the Messiah which becomes the "bridegroom" and those who choose Him, the "bride".

Hosea 1:9 "Then said God, call his name Lo ammi: for ye are not My People, and I will not be your God."

This is God's divorcement of the House of Israel for the many forms of idolatry that they had practiced.

Hosea 1:10 "Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured not numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, `Ye are not My People,' there it shall be said unto them, `Ye are the sons of the living God.' "

This divorcement came in seven hundred years before the birth of Christ. However, Hosea is letting us know in the next verse that there is hope for the House of Israel. He is telling us that this nation will grow into nations so numerous in population that their numbers simply can't be counted. Though they will not know who they are in the locations they are in, that they are part of the House of Israel, in the location they are in they will be called "the sons of the living God." They will be called the "sons of Christ", or "Christians".

This is why there had to be two advents, rather than one. So what God is saying in this verse in Isaiah, is that you produce the documentation that shows that I sold you, and broke the bonds of marriage that we were commited to. It doesn't exist, you will not find it. God did all the things that were required to protect and care for His bride, Israel. He freed them from bondage in Egypt, parted the sea, produced food and water where there was none, and through the years protected them from their enemies, yet they continually went to play the role of the harlot. He even gave them a set of rules to live by to give them better health both physically and mentally.

Yet we see even today, those that call themselves Christians by His name, show little respect for those rules. It is no wonder that people are in such poor health, and tossed around by every wind of doctrine that hits their ears. God did not put our troubles upon us, but we put the separation upon ourselves, speaking of mankind in general. We all fall short of God's standards in time because flesh is sin, flesh causes us to sin, and that is why we must repent as those sins are recognized on a daily basis. This is why we must practice discipline, to force the inner soul of our bodies to take control over the flesh body that will try to sin.

Isaiah 50:2 "Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst."

This verse is pointing to the cross of Christ. Our heavenly Father has the power and the authority to do what ever He desires to do. Until Jesus Christ went to the cross there was no physical man that could save you nor redeem you from your sins. There was no man that could keep your soul from dying. God is trying to show us that He can do anything that He choses, and He choose to give us a man in Jesus Christ to be that sacrifice to bring us back to Him.

What God is leading us to here is that even though you got yourself into a mess, I can deliver you out of that mess. I can deliver you from your sins; I can do what ever I want to. Think back and you will see that those things that are stated here, He did do. He did part the sea, and bring forth a river of fresh water where there was none. He did bring the plagues on Egypt and made their fish stink up the whole land. God is telling you, I can do it for you now just like I did it before, I can do what I please. Why don't you stop your sinning and turn back to Me.

Isaiah 50:3 "I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering."

At the creation, God did not create the heavens with blackness, but at the overthrow of Satan in that first earth age, both heaven and earth became filled with blackness. This was a sad day for our Heavenly Father. God had to destroy that first earth age, the age that produced the dinosaurs, and many other creatures that are extinct today. God is continuing to say, I can do what I want to, I don't have to put up with your sins. Even in this statement, we can see our Heavenly Father's love for each of us, and the patience that He has with us. He provided that cross to make a way back to Himself after we sin.

Isaiah 50:4 "The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned."

The Messiah, through the Holy Spirit can do this. However, God also sent "the voice of the learned" to the earth in the form of our Lord Jesus Christ. When Jesus was a twelve year old boy, he stood up in the temple and taught the most learned in the world things that astounded them. Jesus continued His teaching all the way to the cross, and even while on the cross. When the Jews became marvelled at Jesus teaching, the wanted to know where He received His letters of degrees. From what school of thought are you from?

John 7:16 "Jesus answered them, and said, "My doctrine is not Mine, but His That sent Me,"

John 7:17 "If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself."

John 7:18 "He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but He that seeketh His glory that sent Him, the same is true and no unrighteousness is in Him."

From the beginning of Jesus teaching at the age of twelve, he was astounding the scholars in Jerusalem. He continued to perplex the Kenite priests and Pharisees in the streets of the country side for they did not understand Jesus, but they did understand that what He taught was against what they were teaching. That is why they sought to kill him and shut Him up.

John 7:30 "Then they sought to take Him but no man laid hands on Him, because His hour was not yet come."

John 7:31 "And many of the people believed on Him, and said, "When Christ cometh, will He do more miracles than these which this man hath done?"

John 7:32 'The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning Him;and the Pharisees and the chief prists sent officers to take Him."

Today we have an advantage in knowing the words of that "learned one" [Christ], through the many tools that are available for the study of God's Word. When we become a disciple of Christ it requires discipline within our lives. The truth of all of God's Word can be known to you, and sealed in your mind, but it takes an effort on your part. Jesus said many times, "have you not read, it is written." God gave his Word in writing so that we would have an absolute set of instructions for all matters, but it takes work, study and discipline to apply those words to your life.

Many times a person will ask a Christian a question concerning God's Word, and after the Christian answers the question, he becomes amazed at their ability to draw the information out of their mind. Remember that you place the information into your mind when you study and listen to God's Word being taught, and later it is the Holy Spirit of God that brings that information to your memory when it is needed. You do the work, and the Holy Spirit can then use you to do the work for God. When this happens, watch out who you allow to have the credit for the teaching. The Holy Spirit knows the mind of the one being taught, and brings out the things that should be said. We are to be the mouth pieces for His Spirit. There is a time coming very shortly when God's elect will be delivered up to speak, as Jesus told us in Mark 13:11

Mark 13:11 "But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Hol Spirit."

Isaiah 50:5 "The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back."

This is saying that when the Lord God opened mine ear to understanding, I paid attention to what He had to say. This is a prophecy of what would come to pass. He focused on what He had to do. Jesus was not rebellious to the path that our Father had laid out before Him, He paid attention to every word spoke in prophecy and fulfilled to the letter all that God had laid out for Him. He was faithful to the very cross, and even continued His teaching while on the cross.

Don't feel bad if you have to take a little bruise for the Lord now and then, for you can handle it. When you are focused on the Lord Jesus Christ, what you have to go through is very small considering the treatment that He went through for our sake.

Isaiah 50:6 "I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting."

Of course this is the description of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a detailed description of what Jesus would go through six hundred years later. This is prophecy that can be detailed in the New Testament. This is what the Apostles taught when they set up the early churches, and it was fresh in their minds what had happen in the Roman courts, as well as the courts of the Jewish Kenite priests.

Matthew 26:65 "Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, "He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard His blasphemy."

Matthew 26:66 "What think ye?" They answered and said, "He is guilty of death."

Matthew 26:67 "Then did they spit in His face, and buffeted Him; and other smote Him with the palms of their hands,"

Matthew 26:68 "Saying, "Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?"

Though all of the disciples left Him and even Peter denied Christ, Jesus did not defend Himself from these acts. Go back to the previous verse five; "I was not rebellious, neither turned away back." Jesus stayed the course all the way to the cross. He was fulfilling God's plan that had been given all the way back in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3:15.

Genesis 3:15 "And I [God] will put enmity between thee [Satan] and the woman [Eve], and between thy [Satan's] seed [the Kenites] and her Seed [Jesus Christ]; It [Christ] shall burise they [Satan's] head, and thou [the Kenites] shalt bruise His [Christ's] heel."

This bruising of Christ took place when Jesus suffered going to the cross, and while on the cross. This is why it is important to know the parable of the fig tree, and be able to identify both the good and the bad figs. It lets you know who actually took part in the bruising, and who did not. Jesus said that we are to learn it, for our knowledge of the bad figs, those Kenites that are offspring from Cain, allows us to know exactly what happened in the garden of Eden. Even today we can understand why certain things are happening when we can identify the Kenites, for we are living in the generation of the parable of the fig tree.

Live Link to- The Parable of the Fig Tree

The Kenites took over the Levitical priesthood hundreds of years prior to Christ's coming to earth, and Ezra called attention to this in Ezra 8:15.

Ezra 8:15 "And I [Ezra] gathered them together to the river that runneth to Ahava; and there abode we in tents three days: and I viewed the People, and the priests, and found there none of the sons of Levi."

The priesthood was given over to Levi and his sons and offspring only. That was God's order from the time of Moses, when the levitical priesthood was established through Aaron, the offspring of Levi. And now a thousand years later when the House of Judah, the real Jews are coming out of Babylon after their seventy years of captivity, not one member of the levitical priesthood, or tribe of Levi was there with Judah to go back to set up the temple. We see who these priests were in I Chronicles 2:55.

I Chronicles 2:55 "And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez [Jerusalem], the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hamath, the father of the house of Rechab."

So now we can better understand why these priests and scribes of Jesus day wanted Him dead, they were the sons of Cain, the offspring of Satan himself. These Kenites were not of the House of Judah nor were they Israelites, but were of the House of Rechab. Jesus told them exactly what their doctrines represented and taught, and their doctrines were not of God, but their father the devil. This is Jesus teaching here:

John 8:42 "Jesus said unto them, "If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but He sent me."

John 8:43 "Why do ye not understand my speech? even because Ye cannot hear my word."

John 8:44 "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. for he is a liar, and the father of it."

Don't spiritualize this away here, for Jesus is identifying these Priests, Scribes and Pharisees as they are confronting Him. He is calling them Kenites, of their father the devil, born of the conception of the sexual union between Eve and Satan in the Garden of Eden. Their son was named Cain, from which the word "Kenite" comes, in the Hebrew tongue. The father of all lies is Satan, and the first murderer is his son, Cain.

Genesis 4:8 "And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him."

The subject that we are talking about in Isaiah 50, is learning. About learning and making the Word and thoughts of God's Word become a part of your thinking process. The things that should be both heard and taught should only be from what comes from His Word and can be documented from His Word. There is no story about apples in the garden of Eden, and when you get all wrapped up in fairy tales, the apples, and feasts of Ishtar [Easter], and fly-away doctrines of men, then nothing of God's Word will make sense. It makes no sense for when you twist God's word, it mades it a lie.

God is giving us the prophecy of the promise of His very Son, Jesus Christ. He is telling us exactly what to watch for, to identify that person as being His Son. When you identify Him, then you listen to His Word, and you follow the things that Christ did. This is not directed to when someone hits you in the street, that you have to turn the other cheek, but it is saying that when you are witnessing for God and His kingdom, expect to take a little flack at times. Don't mix up the difference between suffering for Christ, and self defense. Protect yourself when it is necessary, while at the same time be willing to take the slap in the face when witnessing for Christ. When you correct your enemies, sometimes it takes a little corrective action.

Isaiah 50:7 "For the Lord God will help Me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set My face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed."

When Jesus set His face like a flint, He knew that he would be struck. He did not let that confound which means to taunt or insult Him, for Christ was not ashamed or distracted from the mission that He was sent to do. Just as the Lord God directed the path of our Lord Jesus Christ, He will also help you, and you can count on it.

When our hearts are set in God, our minds are set on the flint, the Rock who is Christ. We will always have the victory in Christ. The Messiah, the Learned then bridges the gap, with the unction of the Holy Spirit, we can over come this world age. When you overcome the traditions and false teaching of men, you can have a good life.

Isaiah 50:88 "He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me."

It is only God that is our judge, and it is He that does the correcting. When you try to study and follow the teachings that are in His Word, then He will be on your side when there is time to do battle with the adversary. With God on our side, who can be against us? No one.

The conflict that this is refering to, is the conflict between the Messiah and Satan. That controversy went all the way back to the first earth age, and from the beginning of this flesh age. This is why the first earth age was destroyed, because Satan wanted take over the throne of God, the mercy seat, that was the seat for Christ. Satan wanted it for himself. Here Christ is saying, I don't mind a little contention for I know that I am in control. It is the Messiah that gives the direction and authority that Satan will have, and even when Satan comes to earth in the role of Antichrist, He still must respect the limits that God has placed upon him. When he fails to do that, it is what is called the "abomination of desolation" whereby Satan the desolator claims himself to be God. The people of the earth will believe Satan to be the Messiah, all that is except the elect of God. Satan then kills the two witnesses and this event marks the last three days of this age of the flesh.

Isaiah 50:9 "Behold, the Lord God will help Me; who is he that shall condemn Me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up."

Again we can count on God helping us when we are following His instructions from His Word. This is speaking of eternal things and the garments that we wear throughout all eternity is made up of our works, those things we do while living in these flesh bodies. When you are following the Word of God, it is the eternal garment that you are concentrating on, and not the garments that are worn here in the flesh age. Those garments get old and out dated, and the moths eat them up. God is telling you not to be distracted by the things of this earth age, but hold your attention on those things that are eternal. Discipline yourself so that no one can cause a disrruption, so that you would take your focus off from God and His Word.

Isaiah 50:10 "Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of His Servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God."

The way that you "stay upon the Lord" is that you let God's Word lead you; you don't try to lead God. You follow the Messiah and the things that He taught, you don't try to change His teachings and make them conform to how you think it should be. We are to follow the "voice of His Servant", and God's Servant is Christ. We follow that voice when we study God's Word, and do the things that He taught us to do.

Isaiah 50:11 "Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow."

This has lost quite a bit in the translation from the Hebrew text. Keep in mind that Christ is our fire, He is our light in this dark world. This is said in irony and it is saying woe to you that build your own fire, and when you hit the flint, all that happens is a bunch of sparks fly. God is saying that if you are planning on those firebrands to save you, you will end up in great sorrow.

Aaron's two sons liked to play around with strange fire on the altar of God, and it cost them their lives. God did not allow mixing the fire that burned on the altar of God with any fire that came from any other source. In the New Testament setting the strange fire are the false religious doctrines, and the traditions of men. God is saying, stay away from the traditions of men, for they will direct you right into hell fire. The traditions of men will destroy you and pull you away from the Word of God, which is only light in this world. The only light, path or way is Jesus the Christ, and you cannot mix the teachings and traditions of men with the Word of God. You simply cannot construct any form of light, and religious teaching or practice that can save you, for what ever you try to do of your own accord, without Christ is idolatry.

Christian; Be cautious, The kenites are altering God's word! Our new supposed-to-be easier to read 21st. century versions of the Bible are corrupted! It's a ploy to sell more Bibles to people who already own the best. The original "1611 King James Bible"

Note: I did not say the New King James Bible, It is just another corrupted version, like the New International version and the New Revised Standard version, are!

The analogy to this is, when you light a fire, and you leave the area, you leave the light that your fire gives off. Whereby if you accept Christ as the light, and then no matter where you go, that light of Christ will be there lighting the way for you.

The only way to salvation is through the "learned one", who is Christ, it is the learned one that will protect you where ever you may go.
