Genesis

Chapter 48

Caution to students of God;s Word - Please remember two things when using our American Wisdom Series studies:
#1. Our commentary is not God's Word. It is only our interpretation or understanding of "His Word" and even though we try our best to be accurate we may or may not be correct. #2. The King James translation, or any other translation, of the original Hebrew text has some words which were given different translations at different places probably because of the interpreters preconceived ideas of what they think God meant to say. For example: According to the notes in the "Dake's Annotated Reference Bible" the Hebrew word hayah in the KJV is Trans. (became) 67 times, (becamest or came to pass) 505 times, (become) 66 times, and (come to pass) 131 times, but for some reason in Genesis 1:2 it is translated (was)! That sure changes the way a person perceives the original creation of the earth, doesn't it?  Gen. 1:2 And the earth was (became) without form, ... Having said that, let us continue with our "studies". These studies contain knowledge, we believe, you must have to fully and accurately unlock and understand the Word of God.
May the Holy Spirit be your only guiding light. Sincerely, John Rhine

Revelation 2:17  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

John 15:26
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

John 16:13-14
[13] Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. [14] He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Abrahamic Covenant Passed onto Joseph

Genesis

Chapter 48

"Blessings to Joseph and His Sons."

We will see that the blessings passed on by Jacob to Joseph's sons in this Genesis forty eight, are still active to this date. It will be Joseph that shall receive the blessing promises that God gave to Abraham. Abraham passed them to his son Isaac, the promised child by God and given to Abraham and Sarah in Sarah's old age. then Isaac blessed his son Jacob, who is not passing that blessing promise on to the first born of he and his wife Rachel, Joseph.

Then these blessings of the birthright were not given to Esau, Isaac's first born, for he sold them to Jacob. Esau later married daughters of the Hittites, a mixture of Kenite and Nephilim blood, thus causing him to be completely separated from the God given covenant blessings. Now in Jacob's old age these blessings are to be passed on from Jacob to Joseph's two sons equally, and not to Reuben. This withholding of the blessing was because of the sinful violation that Reuben committed by sleeping with his mother, on Jacob's bed.

Joseph will receive the double portion which is the right of the first born, for he was the first born of Jacob's first love, Rachel. We will see also in Genesis forty nine that other blessings will also be given out to the other sons, and those blessings are present even to this day.

Genesis 48:1 And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, "Behold, thy father is sick:" and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim."

In the Hebrew text "thy father is sick", would be better translated, "thy father is failing."

Genesis 48:2 "And one told Jacob, and said, "Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee:" and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed."

This is a prophetic sight that is about to be revealed, and most of the Christian church world today chose to ignore the contents of this chapter. They have allowed the Kenites to deny the blessings that are about to be passed to Joseph, and place them in the hands of not only Judah, but the Kenite strangers that mixed amongst them called the Jews.

Genesis 48:3 "And Jacob said unto Joseph, "GOD ALMIGHTY appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me."

Luz is that land where Jacob fled to when Esau threatened to kill him, and in this wilderness, with nothing but a stone to use as a pillow, Jacob slept. As he slept the window of heaven opened to him, and he could see the angels ascending and descending from the throne of God in heaven. And God spoke to him.

It is upon that great stone, under the coronation chair in London England, we see that every great king and queen of England is crowned. Each person that takes the oath to defend the faith, and assume the responsibilities of the royalty over the British people, swears the oath over Jacob's pillar stone.

If you ask what this has to do with the Christian world today? It shows us that God's word is true, and He does keep his word. The Kings and Queens of England lineage date back to King David, and on back to Jacob, Isaac and Abraham. This lineage will be given at the end of this chapter, as given in charts by the British Museum, in London. Though the majority of Christians are ignorant of this fact, the British royalty surely are not.

Genesis 48:4 "And said unto me, "Behold, I will make the fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession."

Notice that this is the passing of the blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant between God and Abraham; and now it is to be passed on to the forth generation, to Ephraim and Manasseh.

Genesis 48:5 "And thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine."

Joseph will receive the first fruits offering because Jacob is adopting Joseph's two sons as his own, thus each of the two sons will hold the title as patriarch of their own tribes, and each will now share as the offspring of the other brothers of Joseph.

Genesis 48:6 "And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance."

Each of Joseph's sons will be named in equal status of inheritance as all the other brethren, for they are now adopted as Jacob's sons. In normal times Reuben would have received this double portion, however because of Reuben's sexual affair with his mother, Jacob's wife, He was eliminated from the birthright blessing. Jacob removed the birthright from Reuben by adopting Joseph's sons.

Notice that there is no complaints over this move, for if it had not been for Joseph the whole family would have all died by the famine.

Genesis 48:7 "And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Bethlehem."

Rachel died while giving birth to Benjamin. Jacob and his entire household were traveling from Padan, and the house of Laban to his brother Esau's house, and while on the journey home, she died in Bethlehem. Jacob is the father of the Patriarchs, the father of the twelve tribes, and here at Bethlehem the last of the brothers is born.

It will be many years later that a virgin would also give birth in this little town of Bethlehem, and that son would be the sacrifice that would save not only his people, but offer salvation to all mankind, that would trust and believe on his name, Jesus Christ. Joseph is a type of savior, for through him all of his people's lives were saved, including those of the Egyptians, and the nations around Egypt.

Genesis 48:8 "And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, "Who are these?"

Jacob knows who these boys are, for Joseph and his father had just talked of each of them. However these things must be legal, and the question, "Who are these?" gives identification to the subjects are that are to receive the blessing promises. It's the documentation to the right of inheritance.

Genesis 48:9 "And Joseph said unto his father, "They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place." And he said, "Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them." "

Genesis 48:10 "Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him, and he kissed them, and embraced them."

Jacob took them on his lap and showed his tender love for each of them. These boys were the children of Jacob's favorite son, Joseph.

Genesis 48:11 "And Israel said unto Joseph, "I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed." "

Jacob said, though I thought you were dead, but now not only are you alive, but you have brought me these two sons.

Genesis 48:12 "And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth."

Genesis 48:13 "And Joseph took the both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him."

It's important to understand what is happening here. The act that is taking place could have caused a great deal of jealousy, had not God prepared the way for Joseph. Joseph was the eleventh born to Jacob, yet had it not been for the deception of Laban, Rachel would have been Jacob's first wife, and Joseph was the firstborn son to Rachel. It was this hatred and jealousy that caused Joseph's brethren to sell Joseph into Egypt in the first place. But it was all in God's plan, as God related to Joseph years before in his dreams.

God is in control, and His Will shall be done, and what is being done here is in the plan of God. The process of passing the birthright on to Joseph, the double portion, is completed by Jacob adopting Joseph's two sons, and each child obtaining the full right of a son to Jacob.

Genesis 48:14 "And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn."

Joseph placed his two sons in the proper place for the blessing to take place, However Jacob crossed his hands over knowingly ["wittingly"] that he would place the firstborn blessing on Ephraim's head, the younger, rather then on Manasseh's head. What was done was no accident, for God had revealed this to Jacob.

Genesis 48:15 "And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before Whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God Which fed me all the days of my life long unto this day,"

Genesis 48:16 "The Angel Which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."

This legally passes the promises that God gave to Abraham on to the next generation. Those promises of blessings of great wealth, of many children and all the rest that goes along with the Abrahamic Covenant now belong to Joseph's two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh. They have become equal status with all the other sons of Jacob, only they now possess the blessed promises also.

In this documentation, Jacob has adopted Joseph's two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh to be his own sons. The Angel spoken of here is the same angel that wrestled with Jacob all night before he changed Jacobs name, and blessed him. This same Angel is the Angel that Jacob is calling on to pass the name and the blessing of Jacob, on to Ephraim and Manasseh. It is believed by many scholars that that Ephraim here would become a multi-nation empire, or a confederacy of nations. Where as Manasseh will become one great power.

Since we know the House of Israel now makes up the Christian nations of western Europe, the isles of Britain and the Americas I believe Ephraim to be Great Britain, and Manasseh to be the United States in these final generations.

Genesis 48:17 "And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head."

Joseph was trying to uncross Jacob's hands.

Genesis 48:18 "And Joseph said unto his father, "Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head."

Genesis 48:19 "And his father refused, and said, "I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he,[The United States of America] and his seed shall become a multitude of nations." [Great Britian]

Editor's Note: The above brackets are mine.

Jacob may have been a blind old man, but through the direction of Almighty God, he knew exactly what he was doing. The "multitude of nations" is better translated a "commonwealth of nations". When Jacob crossed his hands to pass the blessing on to Ephraim, he assured the British people of their greatness, and even today this is true, in spite of all the troubles that are taking place in the world. The stone, or "Jacob's pillar" still remains in Westminster Abby, under the coronation chair that all kings and queens of England are crowned upon.

God revealed to Ezekiel that the throne of David, that throne that came to an end when King Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonian army destroyed Jerusalem about 485 B.C., would be moved three times before it finally ended where it belonged, in London. Ezekiel 21:27; "I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until He come Whose right it is; and I will give it Him."

The first overturning took place when that throne was passed from Jerusalem, and carried by Jeremiah through Egypt, to Ireland when Jeremiah brought Scota [Tamar Tephi] one of King Zedekiah's daughters of Judah, to to be married to King Heremon [Eochaidh (Eremhon-Heremon)] of Ireland.

Live Link to-  The Birthright and the Sceptre

The second overturning took place years later when the throne of King Mortough was given over to King Fergus More, King of Argy II of Scotland. When Queen Mary, Queen of Scots, Queen of Scotland tried to place the entire empire under the church of Rome.

The third overturning took place when her son, King James VI of Scotland moved his throne to England, and London became the capital of the British [Covenant people]. It was King James that vowed to place the word of God in the hands and homes of every subject [citizen] under his throne. Thus no outside religious form [The pope of Rome] could ever hold the British captive to their slightest desires again.

Under Queen Mary [bloody Mary] thousands of ministers of the gospel were put to death for not renouncing Jesus Christ and following the political aspirations of the Roman Catholic Church.

The foremost responsibility of the throne of England is the defender of the faith of the British people, and when they put that as second in order, they are defiling the oath of their office. That is why the oath is given in Church, [Westminster Abby] by the Arch Bishop of the Church of England. The oath is given over the crowning chair, and under that chair is "Jacob's Pillar", that stone that Jacob had for his pillow so many centuries ago, when he had his dream of the ladder to heaven.

When you look at the British flag, you will see the cross, to remind the rest of Israel nations of the crossing of the hands made by Jacob when he passed the blessing promises of the Abrahamic covenant from himself to Joseph's younger son, Ephraim. This cross will exist on the flag of every nation established under the British crown. It was on the Hong Kong flag, to Canada, from South Africa, to every British established nation, except the United States.

Why not here? Because we are the offspring of Ephraim's brother, Manasseh; and our seal and flag reflect the heritage of Manasseh.

The word "Manasseh" means "forgetful" in the Hebrew, and the American people bear this out, as they have forgotten their roots, and allowed themselves to be taught under the Kenite tradition, and they even consider themselves "Gentiles". All the while the Kenite Gentiles parade themselves as being of the true house of Judah [brother Judah]. Go back to Genesis 4 and review as to the origin of these Kenite peoples. God's word is true to the letter, for Manasseh has forgotten who they are and where they stand in His holy Word.

My fellow Christian, if you still believe that that covenant rests with Judah, it is no wonder that Bible prophecy has become so difficult for you to understand. We will see the position that Judah has in the next chapter, as Jacob is going to address each of his sons, and reveal to them as to what their family [tribal nations] will be doing in the last generations.

Genesis 48:20 "And he blessed them that day, saying, "In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh:" and he set Ephraim before Manasseh."

This is just as History reveals that it did come to pass. As we approach the end times we see the bonding and support that Manasseh [the United States] has given to Ephraim [the British]. These two nations are bonded together as brothers, and this bonding will continue until Jesus Christ returns at the seventh trumpet.

Genesis 48:21 "And Israel said unto Joseph, "Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers."

Genesis 48:22 "Moreover I have given to thee one portion above thy brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow."

Jacob is telling Joseph that the right that he has, to give the land and the special portion is a right that Jacob has earned. And with that right, upon his death bed that portion is passed on to Ephraim and Manasseh. This is given just in case there is hard feeling between Joseph and the rest of his brothers.

If you are wondering if this is fair, then you will have many problems elsewhere in the Scriptures, for the Bible is a record of God's creation, His love, His plan, and His will to control. Our heavenly Father's ways are not your ways, for God is always just, and when there seems to be confusion on what God is doing, the reasoning is on your part, not God's.

The confusion started with the trickery by Jacob's father-in-law, Laban, and forcing Jacob to take the wrong woman. However in the end, the birthright went to his first love, and the child of that relationship. Jacob took great care to make sure that there would be no reason for jealousy, and this is why Jacob adopted both of the sons of Joseph, and thus Joseph would have double portion, through equal shares with all of Jacob's sons.

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.  We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
