Pamphlet #8036 Ezekiel chapter 36

"I will give you a new nature, and I will put a new spirit in you, I will take away your hard nature and give you a nature that can be touched;"

We read in the last chapter, chapter 35, that God was very much against Mount Seir, the land of Jacob's brother Esau, Russia, because of Esau's perpetual hatred (vs. 35:5) for his brother and for his boasting and supporting the desolation and scattering of both the house of Israel and the house of Judah. Therefore, there is a judgment of Edom, even of all nations, coming "in that day" when Jesus Christ returns, when they "shall know that He is the LORD".

Even so, today we can actually SEE and understand how that judgment will be. For we have already read in our previous study regarding the very "land" itself of Mount Seir, which is symbolic of Edom, i.e. Esau's land, that is was to become desolate and unproductive. Is there any doubt that the land of the Edom, that "red" nation, is "far from the fatness of the earth", exactly as it was foretold in Gen. 27:39 (see note in Companion Bible regarding this verse)? Where are their rolling fields after fields of amber waves of grain? They have few so they come to their brother Jacob to obtain their wheat.

Now in this 36th chapter of Ezekiel we are going to read about the restoration of God's people (verses 16-29) and the restoration of the land of Israel which was made desolate (verses 1-15). Of course the complete fulfillment of this will occur at the coming of our Lord, i.e. during the Millennium.

You see, the true house of Israel has a covenant relationship with Almighty God, who promised to restore the land to her, following her chastisement. Israel once possessed their own land, which God gave to them, but they were scattered abroad and dispersed among the heathen (nations), the reason for which we will see in verses 17-21. However, God promised to gather them and give them their own land: Ezekiel 36:24 "For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land."

Note: We are not talking about the Jews here, as in the little Country we today call Israel.  No, we are talking about true Israelites who were taken captive by the Assyrians in 745-721 B.C.  Well over eight hundred thousand Israelite men  2 Samuel 24:1 - 9 and their families from ten different tribes, and tens of thousands of judahaits (Jews) and Benjaminites, were taken captive brought out of the promised land by the Assyrians. 2 Kings 16:9 - 17:6. and 18:9-10.

II Kings 18:9 "And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Hezekiah, which was the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against Samaria, and besieged it."

II Kings 18:10 "And at the end of three years they took it: even in the sixth year of Hezekiah, that is the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel, Samaria was taking."

See II Kings 18:13 below because this group of Israelites from Judah were also carried away by Asseria along with tha "House of Israel"

II Kings 18:13 "Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them."  II Kings 18:13 Makes it clear that much of the House of Judah was also taken by Assyria and most likely went with the House of Israel over the Caucasus Mountains when Babylon over threw Assyria!

The people we call Jews today were in the group when 135 years later in 586BC, Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon carried more than one half million Israelite men 2 Samuel 24:1 - 9 and their families from the other two tribes, of Benjamin and Judah (the Jews) who remained in and around Jerusalem, away to Babylon. 2 Kings 25:1 - 21
These were the only remaining Israelites in the Promised Land.

70 years after these Judahait's captivity by Nebuchadnezzar the temple was rebuilt and 42,360 Nehemiah 7:66 - 67 from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin returned again "unto Jerusalem and Judah, every one unto his city". Ezra 8:1 - 20 & Nehemiah 7:5 - 45  Note: See Nehemiah 7:46 - 65 These Nethinium who returned along with the tribes of Judah and Benjamin were not Israelites at all. not even of the tribes of Judah or Benjamin, but people include them as and call them Jews today.

What happened to the rest of the one and one half million Israelites and their families? James 1:1 - See Acts 26:7 This promise was made to the twelve tribes of Israelites who were scattered abroad and are the Christian nations of today.  It was not made to the Jews. There is a difference as this verse proves.

James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

James 1:1 proves that it was not only the 10 northern tribe of Israelite that were scattered abroad but also many from the tribe of Judah. (as I stated above.

Read II Kings 18:13 again carefully.

II Kings 18:13 "Now in the fourteenth year of king Hezekiah did Sennacherib king of Assyria come up against all the fenced cities of Judah, and took them."

II Kings 18:13 Makes it clear that much of the House of Judah was also taken by Assyria and most likely went with the House of Israel over the Caucasus Mountains when Babylon over threw Assyria!

So before we begin with verse 1 of chapter 36, let's read ahead a little concerning the reason for the scattering.
Ezekiel 36:17
Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
We read all about the "whoredoms" of God's people and their "own way", which is the way of following the traditions of men. We also read that many of those "traditions" and religious practices have been passed down to this generation and now pollute the Christian houses of God.
[18] Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:

[19] And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

God had to punish Israel according to His Word which did promise that punishment IF they disobeyed. They did disobey, and He did scatter them/us, and thus they/we became known as the 10 lost tribes of Israel, but their Father never lost sight of even the least among them/us.
[20] And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
This didn't make either Israel or the LORD look very good to the heathen, did it?  In fact, the heathen thought they could move right in there and possess the land and claim it as their own. Not so! They themselves are going to be made desolate as we have already seen in prior chapters and shall even review in the first 15 verses of this 36th chapter.

Those who have eyes to see and ears to hear know that the desolation and captivity of the house of Israel by Assyria and that of the remaining Judahiats by the king of Babylon shows us in type the spiritual captivity and desolation of the final generation when the king of Babylon, Satan, the false-christ, comes against our people. So too does the desolation of the heathen nations and gathering and the restoration of the house of Israel into their lands in which they dwell today, give us a picture of that restoration which will occur at His coming, at that day! What a beautiful time the children of God have to look forward to in the Millennium.

Next we are going to read about the restoration and the blessings of the "land" of Israel. If you live the USA and you know the melody to the song "America the Beautiful", you should now play it on your mental jukebox while reading this study.

Ezekiel 36:1
Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:
Mountains are symbolic of nations, so this is being addressed to the nations of the House of Israel, even those nations which were scattered abroad. This is in contrast to the mountain (nation) of Esau, Mount Seir of the previous chapter. So while chapter 35 was about Esau and the heathen nations, this chapter concerns Esau's brother Jacob, i.e, the 21st century Christian nations of North-Western Europe, the Isles of Britain, and the Americas who received the blessings of the birthright of the firstborn, in Esau's stead.
[2] Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:
The "ancient high places" are the "everlasting hills" promised to Israel way back in Gen. 49. Though her enemies may speak great boastful words and make their false declarations of ownership, the "everlasting hills" shall NOT become the "everlasting hills" of her enemies.
Genesis 49:26
The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.
Joseph you may recall was sold into slavery by his brothers (and so separated from his brothers), and taken to the land of Egypt where he became the equivalent of Prime Minister to Pharaoh. The blessings of the birthright were then passed on and actually split between Joseph's two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, represented today by Great Britain and the United States respectively.
Ezekiel 36:3
Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:
Israel (true Israel, not Judah), you are mocked and slandered because of your desolation. Even today, because of the blindness of our people (Rom. 11), the residue of the heathen and especially those residue who claim to be God's chosen people but are not (Rev. 2:9 & 3:9), do "take up in the lips" and mock those of the true house of Israel, who in their ignorance believe they are "gentiles". For example, they are sometimes called "goyim" in a mocking, demeaning manner, like their reason for being is that "someone has to pay retail".
[4] Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;
All you nations of the House Israel, from the mountains to the hills to the valleys, etc., i.e. from biggest (The U.S, of America) to the smallest Christian nations, HEAR the word of Adonai Yahveh!
Ezekiel 36:5
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
"Surely" means "of a truth", "with certainty". The Lord GOD means every word He spoke in chapter 35 concerning Idumea, which means Edom, the "red" nation. And since our Father IS a consuming fire, if He is after someone, rest assured that someone is going to get burned.
Deut. 4:24
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Hebrews 12:29
For our God is a consuming fire.

So the "kenites" and even old Esau thought that since Israel was made desolate and scattered that they could just gleefully waltz right in and take possession of his land. I don't think so!

Here is what "thus saith the Lord GOD" concerning Israel's land. "Ezekiel, tell them like it is!"

Ezekiel 36:6
Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:
Israel, though you got what was coming to you because of your disobedience, you have suffered mocking and been shamed by those heathen who tried to take advantage of you. God is not too happy about that, to say the least!
[7]Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.
It is a common practice for witnesses, even for officials and judges, etc. to raise their hand and take an oath to tell the truth. When Adonai Yahveh "lifts up His hand" and says "Surely", you better believe you can count on it! He means business!
Ezekiel 36:8
But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
The "purple mountains majesty" have become the fruitful place of the house of Israel.
[9] For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
And the fields of "amber waves of grain" have been tilled and sown and produced fruit beyond measure.
[10] And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:
And the house of Israel has been "multiplied" and has become as numerous as the sand which is upon the sea, just exactly as it was written in the covenant.
Genesis 22:17
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
God promised that He would gather the nations of Israel and they shall be blessed according to His covenant, and so it has come to pass.
Ezekiel 36:11
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Has there ever been a nation of so many people who has been so "fruitful" and so blessed with increase as the United States of America? No there has not! It is even more fruitful that the "old estate". However, the time is coming, as is yet future, when "at that day", when all "shall know that He is the LORD", that the full restoration of the land of Israel which God "took to wife" in Ezekiel 16, shall come to pass. And it shall be even better than it was in the beginning, which to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, means even "before the foundation of this world".
[12] Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of men.
Here is Dr. Strong's definition of the word "bereave":
shakol, shaw-kole', Hebrew 7921; a primitive root; properly to miscarry, i.e. suffer abortion; by analogy to bereave (literal or figurative) :- bereave (of children), barren, cast calf (fruit, young), be (make) childless, deprive, destroy, × expect, lose children, miscarry, rob of children, spoil.
Though this refers to the idolatrous practice of Molech worship, if the shoe fits wear it. Here's how one translation renders "bereave them of men (adam)":
"... and you will no longer be a place for burning their children on idol altars." (LB)
And so it shall be at the restoration "at that day" there will no longer be any idolatrous worship or ungodly heathenistic practices.
Ezekiel 36:13
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations;
[14] Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.
The nations will be silenced and they shall no longer speak against the house of Israel, neither shall His people bear the reproach of their shame any more.
Ezekiel 36:15
Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
Yes, the 7th Trump shall sound and the full restoration of God's people and their land shall take place.

Next we will read of that restoration of His people. It is His promise, surely!

The name EZEK-I-EL* in Hebrew means "EL [God] I [is] EZEK [strong]" or even "God is my strength" and His method of "strengthening" is quite clear to anyone who reads this book with even just a little understanding. It is His Word that gives us strength.

* Note to new students: The Hebrew language is not read from left to right like English but rather it is read from the right to the left? Also, names of people, places, and things have great significance in the scriptures and they often give us a deeper understanding of that which is written when we take the time to learn their meanings.

We continue now with the chapters in Ezekiel concerning the restoration of Israel. Remember that in the first 15 verses of chapter 36, we learned about the restoration of Israel basically as it pertained to the land itself. In contrast, this next section especially from verses 16 to 29 is addressed to the people. It explains why the restoration must take place, which is because the plan of God is lovingly designed so that ALL of God's children of all races and creeds can come to know and love Him.

Ezekiel 36:16
Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Notice that before Ezekiel, God's watchman, is once again given instruction and told to speak unto the house of Israel (verse 22), that the LORD gives Him increased knowledge and understanding from His word, i.e. more strengthening. It is extremely important that the people of God understand the purpose and the reasons why God does what He does, lest they think that merely for their own sakes He blesses them.
[17] Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
The analogy here is that Israel became unclean and had to be separated after the manner of a woman during menstruation, as it is described according to the law in Lev. 15:19.
[18] Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:
God was "furious" because of these two things: 1.) for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and 2.) for their idols wherewith they polluted the land. These are abominations in the sight of the Lord (Ezek. 7:8).

Malachi 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8 declare that the Lord changes not, that He is the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Do you think therefore that He has since changed His mind concerning these two transgressions, these abominations? He has not. That is why it is so important for us Christians to get rid of the pollution, the traditions of men, like the rituals and practices associated with Ishtar (Easter), etc., that have been handed down to us from our fathers which "pollute the land".  It still makes our Father furious.

Remember chapter 20 when we discussed the idolatrous "pollution" of our people, even the pollution of His holy sabbaths such as the high day of Christianity, the Passover. He doesn't like us substituting pagan rituals "after the manner of our fathers" instead of adhering to His word? The Lord GOD wants to know which it will be for you, the stinky polluted water that the false shepherds of chapter 34 teach from the pulpits of our land, or the pure living water which flows from His Word?

Ezekiel 20:30
Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations?
There is only one way to know if you are "polluted" and that is by studying His Word and following Him, not the traditions of churches which "appear" to be so holy and unpolluted.

So God scattered and dispersed His people through the countries according to their choice! You see, God is both pro-choice (free will) and pro-life (His ways).

Ezekiel 36:19
And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
And so their scattering came to pass exactly as it was written and they became known as the lost tribes of the house of Israel. However, they are only lost to themselves and to the rest of the Biblically illiterate world. They are not lost to our Father and nor to His servants who know who they are and where they are (Read James 1:1).  Do you? "Do you know who you really are?"  Are you a Israelite? Be thoughtful before you answer. (Maybe you only think you're a Gentile!) or  "Israel's Lost Tribes"
[20] And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
If your children went out and made fools of themselves by let's say "fooling around" and brought disgrace to the family, how would you feel as their parent?  Well Israel did commit whoredoms and profaned Yahveh's holy name just by their actions! Look up the word "profaned" in the Hebrew dictionary. It means to "pollute", to "prostitute", to "stain".

So the heathen, the "gowy" in Hebrew, sneered and said concerning Israel's idolatrous practices and their scattering , "Look at the children of God! Just look how they act and look how their weak God treats them!"

Our Father wants all of His children, of which all people of all races are His children for He created them all, to "know that He is the LORD"! So this is not good that Israel gave cause to the heathen to remain unbelievers! It greatly concerned our Father because He loves all of His children, and so it is, and was from the beginning, in His plan to sanctify His name among the heathen and to restore Israel for the sake of His name, so that they would all know that He is LORD.

Ezekiel 36:21
But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
They made Him look really bad, but even in spite of themselves God remained with them, never losing track of even the least grain of sand among them "whither they went". You see, God performs miracles among His people and brings about certain events, etc., not just for their sakes, but to make Himself known to all of His children, the heathen too! We read about that in chapter 20 also.
Ezekiel 20:9
But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, among whom they were, in whose sight I made myself known unto them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.
The reason for the plagues on Egypt and the "high handed" manner in which God brought Israel forth out of the land, was not just for the sake of Israel, but to make Himself known unto the nations.

So with this information in mind, Ezekiel is now instructed to speak to his people.

Ezekiel 36:22
Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
Again, is was not for the house of Israel's sake, but that the heathen would know that He is God (next verse).
[23] And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
Our Father has great purpose in all that He says and does. His concern is for the salvation of all of His children, not just some, so that the restoration of the house of Israel is to the benefit of all nations. He has promised that a full restoration will take place.
Ezekiel 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
Yes, there is a restoration of Israel at the 7th Trump when Jesus Christ returns, but also remember the first 15 verses of this chapter. Where is the true house of Israel today? They are in their own land. Those scattered tribes basically comprise the free nations of the world today, i.e. the Christian nations of North-western Europe, the isles of Britain, and the Americas.
Ezekiel 36:25
Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
The "then" places this at the restoration in the Millennium (see note in Companion Bible) when Jesus Christ has returned. The "sprinkle" clean water upon you has direct reference to Lev. 1:5 and the sprinkling of the blood upon the altar to make atonement for sin, which was a foreshadowing of the atonement of Christ's blood, the only blood which can cleanse a person!

But even at this time we have the Word of God with us which will cleanse us from "all idols" and idolatrous ways. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear know that His Word is right now being "sprinkled" like rain upon this latter generation. It is the "latter rain" (Deut. 11:14, James 5:7) which falls right before the harvest.

[26] A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
The 1611 King James language and translation makes the metaphors in this verse a little hard to understand. Here's how Dr. Moffat translates it:
Ezekiel 36:26
"I will give you a new nature, and I will put a new spirit in you, I will take away your hard nature and give you a nature that can be touched;" (Moffat)
That "new spirit" that God will put in His children is His Spirit:
Ezekiel 36:27
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Any child of God, of any race or creed, can receive this Spirit of God now by repenting and turning to Christ as their savior and accepting His blood sacrifice. That new Spirit will cause him or her to "eat the scroll", i.e. study His Word, and become a doer, a follower, of His statutes and His judgments and His commands.
Ezekiel 36:28
And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
You can also read of the beautiful restoration in the 31st chapter of Jeremiah. We won't quote it all here but it is well worth reading independently.
Jeremiah 31:1
At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

[6] For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God.

Notice that it is the "watchmen" who give the cry! Are you a watchman?
[8] Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
Most of the house of Israel is spiritually "blind" at this time (Rom. 11) and many shall stumble and fall before Satan who appears as the spurious messiah and be spiritually seduced by him and spiritually impregnated with his lies and deception. That is why Christ said in Mk. 13:17 "..woe to them that are with child (spiritually)..."

That is why they shall come weeping and with supplications (next verse) for the shame in which they stumbled. But they shall stumble no more in Christ.

[9] They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
[10] Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
It is being declared in those "isles afar off" that His promise of the restoration is sure. You can count on it!
Ezekiel 36:29
I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
Did you know that we are in the great famine of the end time? It is not a famine for food, not a thirst for water!
Amos 8:11
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
But the time is coming when there will be no more dearth for the hearing of the Word of God. Why? The Word will be with us! He even is for those with eyes to see Him.
Ezekiel 36:30
And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
[31] Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
When we are in our spiritual bodies we will certainly remember what we did in the flesh, won't we?

As it is written in Rev. 6:6-17, when Christ returns many will wish the mountains to fall upon them rather than face the Lord Jesus Christ because of their abominations!

[32] Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
We are to know real well that it is not because of Israel's righteousness that the restoration will take place, for they shall certainly be ashamed for worshipping the false Messiah. The restoration shall take place because it is part of God's salvation plan for the benefit of all nations.
Ezekiel 36:33
Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
Again, "In that day" shows this will happen in the Millennium.
[34] And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
[35] And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.
The waste and pollution and desolation's caused by flesh man's wars and his filthy ways will no longer be permitted, because the Word of God shall rain as the dew of heaven and the King of kings and the priests of the Zadok shall reign.
Ezekiel 36:36
Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.
There will be no doubt by anyone of any nation that it was the LORD that brought about the restoration. He has said He will do it, it is written that He will do it, and you know what? He will do it!
[37] Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
Thus saith the Lord GOD! Won't that be a glorious time when the house of Israel can "enquire" of Him? Does He listen to the elders of Ezek. 20 and the false shepherd's of Ezek. 24 when they enquire of Him now?

 Thus saith the Lord GOD:
Ezekiel 20:3
Son of man, speak unto the elders of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye come to enquire of me? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
If you have not answered the "Are you polluted question" by studying His Word and are therefore disobedient to His commands, will He hear your prayers when you go to church and pay your tithes and enquire of Him?

What saith the Lord GOD?:
Ezekiel 20:31
For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your sons to pass through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and shall I be enquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you.
The time of restoration is coming for the LORD is returning soon.
Ezekiel 36:38
As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I AM the LORD.
And when He returns every knee shall bow and all nations, including the whole house of Israel, shall know that the
"I AM that I AM"
is the LORD our God!

Hallelujah!

(Next up! The valley of the dry bones!)

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
