The Book of Isaiah
Chapter 12

Our heavenly Father is so good to us and we should all give Him our praise and our love and our thanks for the wonderful letter of instruction He has given us that is so replete with types and ensamples showing us exactly how things shall be in these last days. To that end, we have been learning from the prophet Isaiah, whose name means the "salvation of Yahveh", that it is part of God's PLAN to send the Assyrian upon the land of His people "to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets (Isa. 10:6)" till they become scattered from their homeland as lost orphans and widows who wander in the wilderness unable to find their way back home to their Father.

Then in that day, meaning AFTER the reign of the false-christ (of whom the Assyrian was an historical type), God shall destroy Babylon the Great and deliver His people from their affliction! THEN they shall behold the glory and salvation of the LORD as His anger is turned away and His feet split the Mount of Olives (Zech. 14:4) providing a way, a path, a real roadmap for His beloved children to follow and find their way back home. What a wonderful and glorious time that will be in that day when Jesus Christ returns at the sound of the 7th Trump, for true peace and comfort come from having the Lord present with us... even in our midst! And so it is that this 12th chapter of Isaiah is a chapter of praise as it declares the joy of His people and their praise for Yahveh's deliverance, His salvation!

Isaiah 12:1
And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
God still loves His children very much even though He is quite hurt and angry that they have turned their backs on Him, on His Word, to follow another way (the traditions of men) that "seemeth right" unto them. The reason it hurts Him is because He knows that their way is the way that leads to (spiritual) death (Prov. 14:12, 16:25) and it is His will and desire "that none should perish" (along with the son of perdition in the lake of fire), "but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9)".

Therefore our Father in His love for His children, for God is love (1 John 4:8), has purposed to chastise them by first allowing them to experience the consequences of their own idolatrous actions while in these flesh bodies. You can read of those dire consequences, called curses, in the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy beginning with verse 15. In fact, you will even find written therein the coming of the "stranger" upon the land and the desolation and consuming of the locust army... written and foretold of long before God even sent the historical Assyrian "against an hypocritical nation... to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets (Isa. 10:6)".

Hebrews 12:6
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Proverbs 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Remember we learned in chapter 10 that the Assyrian, who again is an historical type of the false-christ to come, shall be the rod of His anger, meaning the rod in our Father's hand that He uses to chastise His children who have turned away and forsaken His Word!
Isaiah 10:5
O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.
However, the good news we learned in our last study is that in due season and according to His wondrous plan, as in once the Assyrian has served His purpose as a rod of chastisement in our Father's hand, God will hew down that old "box-cedar" who thinks he is so mighty (Isa. 10:13, Ezk. 31) and deliver His people from their affliction... and then they shall "behold" the salvation of their God as did their forefathers when they were "up against it" at the Red Sea with Pharaoh "hot on their heals"! Again, in that day God will fight for them and deliver them and provide "a way" for His children to safely cross over on dry ground.
Exodus 14:13-14
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

[14] The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

Yes, though most of His children remain spiritually blinded at this time (Rom. 11), they shall yet "see the salvation of the LORD" and will come to believe in Him and turn their hearts to Him and trust in Him... for YHVH is their strength and their joy (song) and their salvation! However, you do not need to wait until then IF today, this very day, you will "harden not your heart and turn to Him, to His Word, and hear His Voice (Heb. 4:7)!" Do you trust in Him... in His salvation? If so, then there is truly nothing to be afraid of nor to be anxious about in these last days.
Isaiah 12:2
Behold,God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD* JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.
Remember that "Yahveh's salvation" is precisely what the name "Isaiah" means. Of course the fulfillment of this verse is clearly yet future even though it is taken from the historical type set forth in Exodus 15:2 as a visual guide "for our understanding upon whom the ends of the world (age) are come (1 Cor. 10:11)". Therefore let us go to that ensample Isaiah references to gain more understanding by "seeing" the picture our Father has so graciously provided for us.

Note: The Hebrew word translated LORD is verse 2 is "Yah" which Dr. Bullinger points out in appendix 4 of the Companion Bible is "Yahveh in a special sense and relation. Yahveh as having BECOME our Salvation (first occurrence Ex. 15:2). He Who IS, and WAS, and IS TO COME. It occurs 49 times (7 x 7)."

Exodus 14:27-31
And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

[28] And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.

Our Father has all power in both heaven and earth and therefore He really doesn't need any help from anyone to destroy an entire army, does He? So don't ever think that Satan and his locust army can prevail against the Lord God Almighty... either in heaven or on earth.
[29] But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
[30] Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.

[31] And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

Sounds a lot like what the overcomers of the beast are singing in Rev. 15:3-4... "Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty... Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name?" You "see", all the children of Israel beheld the glorious triumph of the LORD when He fought for and "saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians". Thus He became their salvation and gave them the victory and so they sang for joy and praised and exalted the name of Yahveh.
Exodus 15:1
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for He hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

[2] The LORD is my strength and song, and He is become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare Him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

What a beautiful song of praise for Yahveh's deliverance is this 15th chapter of Exodus, which of course is why Isaiah makes reference to it! What a joy it is to BEHOLD His salvation, to "see" His strength and the power of His might, for He has all power in both heaven and earth and He fights for us! Thus "He is become our salvation (vs. 2 above)"! So again, when we put our trust in Him we have nothing and no one to fear... even Pharaoh and his thundering army who were also a type of Satan and his locust army in these last days. Let us repeat Isaiah 12:2 before we move on.
Isaiah 12:2
Behold,God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.

Isaiah 12:3
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Because He is our joy and our salvation there shall be much rejoicing when Yahshua Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords, returns for as it is written in Isaiah 11:9 concerning that day, "...the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. Jesus Christ, the Living Word of God, is that salvation. He is the Rock from which the life saving waters flow forth as they did in the days of Moses in the wilderness when "there was no water for the congregation... (Num. 20:2)! He is the well of Living Water that springs up into everlasting life. Remember what Jesus said to the woman of Samaria at Jacob's well? "Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life (John 4:14)."
[4] And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon His name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted.
In that day speaks of the Millennium, the Lord's Day, the time when "...the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea". As it written, in that day His name shall be exalted and every knee shall bow to the name of Yahshua and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ IS LORD, to the glory of God the Father!
Philip. 2:9-11
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:

[10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

[11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Hallelujah, Praise Yahveh!
Isaiah 12:5
Sing unto the LORD; for He hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
Yes, His wonderful and marvelous works shall soon be known in ALL THE EARTH, but you know what? God's elect who shall overcome the beast in this final generation already know of His plan, His great and marvelous works, and they sing the "Song of Moses" even now in the ears of their brothers and sisters. The Song of Moses is the 32nd chapter of Deuteronomy that gives the entire outline of God's plan in this final generation of the fig tree! You can document that those overcomers are singing that Song of Moses the servant of God in Revelation 15.
Rev. 15:2-4
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
Rev. 12:11 tells us how God's elect achieve the victory over the beast. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." It is written that some of God's elect shall be delivered up before the synagogues and councils and the "word of their testimony" proclaiming the kingdom of God (Mat. 24:14), i.e. the coming of the King of kings to destroy Babylon and set up the kingdom of God, shall go forth to all nations as the Holy Spirit speaks through them (Mark 13:11). To that end, His servants are given clear instruction not to premeditate nor be anxious (fearful) when that time comes! And so it is that they shall be faithful in giving that witness and testimony before the kings and rulers of the earth without fear, which is what "loved not their lives unto the death" means. For a type and an illustrative ensample for your "eyes to see", read about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abedneggo in Daniel 3. They took the heat without fear of death... for they knew the Lord was with them... and He was, right there standing in their midst (Dan. 3:25).
[3] And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
By the way, you will also find these words from the Song of Moses in first few verses of "The Song of the Three Children" which can be found in both the original 1611 King James Bible and in the Septuagint. And although "The Song of the Three Children" is an apocryphal book, meaning it is not a canonized book of the Bible, it nevertheless contains the beautiful prayers of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego as they walked in the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Here are the first few verses:
[1] And they walked in the midst of the fire, praising God, and blessing the Lord.

[2] Then Azarias [Abednego] stood up, and prayed on this manner; and opening his mouth in the midst of the fire said,

[3] Blessed art thou, O Lord God of our fathers - thy name is worthy to be praised and glorified for evermore:

[4] For thou art righteous in all the things that thou hast done to us - yea, true are all thy works, thy ways are right, and all thy judgments truth.

These "overcomers of the beast" were praising God and singing the words from Song of Moses, Deuteronomy 32.
Rev. 15:5
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
Yes, ALL nations shall come and worship before the Lord, for the Holy One of Israel shall be upon Mount Zion in the midst of His people. In fact, even the kenite, "...them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie" shall come and worship before the Lord whose faithful servants shall be at His feet (Rev. 3:9).
Isaiah 12:6
Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
There shall be much rejoicing and shouting for joy when Yahshua Messiah is present and standing in our midst and upon on Mount Zion during the Millennium. Remember we read in chapter 11 what a glorious time of peace and happiness that time will be, a time when "the wolf shall dwell with the lamb and the leopard shall lie down with the kid". Oh that glorious day draws nearer and nearer as the Baby Boomer generation, that generation of the Fig Tree that Jesus Christ said would see "all these things" come to pass, meaning they would witness the earth shaking events that consummate the end of this earth age (Mark 13:30), begins to approach retirement age.

But wait...

...we now know that the Assyrian and his army, a type of Satan and his locust army in these last days, must first come upon the land (at the sound of the 6th Trump) to make it desolate and to scatter the power of the holy people, God's children, i.e. "to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets (Isa. 10:6)". Then shall come the salvation of Yahveh and destruction of Babylon of Great, that One World System with Satan and his angelic host at the helm! It shall happen exactly as it is written in our Father's Word and we shall read all about it in chapter 13!

Isaiah 13:19
And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
