The Book of Isaiah
Chapter 4

Isaiah 4:1
And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.
Seven is number of spiritual perfection and also the number used to denote God's elect. And so it is that these seven women are symbolic of those Christians who remain spiritual virgins by taking take hold of one man. In other words they shall remain espoused to the one and only true Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, the Word of God. They will not partake of the king of Babylon's idolatrous meat nor drink his spiritually intoxicating wine (Dan. 1:8-16) but will rather eat the bread of life and wear the whole gospel armor of God instead of all the fancy trinkets and shear party dresses provided for them by Babylon the great. And they shall remain true to Jesus Christ as in they shall not be taken by the false messiah and so they shall be called by His name and shall not be a reproach, a disgrace, unto the Lord at His coming.

How about you? Will you remain faithful unto the end? It is written in the book of Joel which was quoted by Peter on that first Pentecost Day following the resurrection, that it shall come to pass in these last days, "that whosoever shall call upon the name (authority) of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21)". Let's read the rest of the verse Peter quoted from in the Book of Joel.

Joel 2:32
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
The remnant are God's elect in this final generation, those sons and daughters of Acts chapter 2, that "seed" Jesus Christ foretold of in Psalm 22:30-31 who would come and declare His righteousness to a people that would be born, i.e. be born in the final generation. And many of those in this final generation who hear the truth of His Word through that remnant will wake up and come out of Babylon and be saved. Most however shall end up being called by the name of the false messiah and be dressed and branded as a harlot and thus shall be a reproach unto the Lord at His coming.

But the remnant, God's elect, shall wear their own clothing and shall not turn back to the fields to take up other garments when the abomination of desolation comes and stands in the holy place claiming to be God. Hey, Satan is going to have some sweet cakes for everyone to eat and some fancy clothing to dress up in and many beautiful trinkets and ornaments of gold and silver to adorn oneself with! See that you are not sweet talked into following after Him. Take hold of the branch, which is to say Jesus Christ, and you shall escape the temptation of the final hour!

We have emphasized time and again that the name Isaiah means the "salvation of Yahveh" and if you are one who has eyes to see and ears to hear and you can look out across the spiritual wilderness of our land, it should be evident that we sure need His saving grace. Our heavenly Father is a God of love but what many Christians fail to realize is that love demands discipline in remaining steadfast and true to the one you love. God is certainly faithful to us and we can put our faith and trust in Him and in all the promises He has made to us. However, we as His people have not been faithful to Him and in fact have rejected Him because we have not kept His Word. John 14:23-24 "Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. [24] He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me."

Many of our brothers and sisters claim they love the Lord but according to Christ's own words, if one does not keep His Word, meaning he or she does not study His Word, though that person has a deep abiding affection (phileo) for the Lord, that person does not truly love (agapao) Him. How could they when they do not really know Him? You "see", you cannot separate the Living Word of God from the Written Word of God, which is to simply say that you cannot know Jesus Christ without knowing the Word of God. To wit, far too few Christians know that it was foretold long ago in the Song of Moses, which is the 32nd chapter of Deuteronomy, that God's people in this final generation would wax fat, as in become blessed and prosperous, and would then forsake God and "lightly esteem" the Rock of His salvation, which is Jesus Christ, the Word of God, even becoming a reproach and a disgrace.

Deut. 32:15
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Jeshurun is a figurative name for God's people Israel, the true House of Israel, even the 10 northern tribes who today basically comprise the Christians nations of world lead by the USA and Great Britain. We have been reading in Isaiah how our leaders have become as children, spiritually speaking, and have become entangled in the seductive web of the harlotry of Babylon the great in leading our people down the wrong path, the path that leads to spiritual death.

So thank God for the small remnant He sent to labor in the vineyard to produce fruit for the kingdom... else as we read in Isaiah 1:9 we would all be toast like those of Sodom and Gomorrah: "Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah." Therefore if you have had your eyes opened to the truth of His Word in these last days and you understand the difference between the profane and the holy, as in the difference between the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that produces bad fruit and the tree of life that produces good fruit, which is to know the difference between the false messiah and the true messiah, then you are blessed as are those seven women in Isa. 4:1 we read of in chapter 3 who take hold of the one true Branch and remain true and faithful to His Word unto the coming of the LORD.

Yes, we have that beautiful and glorious time to look forward when Zion shall be full of His honor and glory, and when His truth and His righteousness shall flow like mighty rivers from beneath His throne. Isaiah now speaks of that day.

Isaiah 4:2
In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
"Them that are escaped of Israel" are God's elect, those we just spoke of who take hold of the true Branch. They are those who when they see the abomination of desolation (the spurious messiah) standing in the Holy Place where he ought not (Mark 13:14), shall flee to the mountain of the Lord God, to His Word of Truth, to escape the great spiritual deception brought on by Satan and his angelic host when they are cast from heaven to this earth as per Rev. 12:7-9. Again, our Father dearly loves His children and wants them to come out of Babylon, which means to come out of the religious and spiritual confusion of these last days, else they become partakers of her sins and fall right along with her in that day! Rev. 18:4 "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues."

"In that day" when the Lord returns the fruit of the earth shall be excellent indeed because Satan, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil who produces the bad fruit, shall be hewn down during the Millennium. That is good news indeed for it means that soon we will no longer have to flee Jerusalem! You "see", Jesus Christ is returning to this earth and the saints of the Most High, God's elect, are going to take the kingdom (Dan. 7:18) and stand firm on Mount Zion with Him and rule with Him for a thousand years. Rev. 5:10 "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." Rev. 20:6-7 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. [7] And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison."

[3] And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
The living refers to the eternally living, those whose names are written in the Book of Life, those who shall be elevated (raised, resurrected) to the status of eternal life at the Lord's return, which is called the first resurrection, i.e. the first raising to eternal life. That is not the same thing and not to be confused with the raising from our corruptible flesh bodies to our incorruptible spiritual bodies. The apostle Paul makes it abundantly clear in 1 Cor. 15:50-54 that the resurrection of the body from flesh to spirit happens immediately upon the death of our flesh bodies or at the return of Jesus Christ at the sound of the 7th Trump... whichever comes first. In other words, all people, the good, the bad, and the ugly, who are alive and remain at the sound of the 7th Trump will be changed instantly, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, from their flesh bodies into their spiritual bodies. Some will also put on immortality while the rest will still remain spiritually mortal and liable to die the second death if they still choose to follow Satan at the end of the Millennium.

You "see", Mount Zion is symbolic of God's Holy Nation, His people, and there are many who shall not be "left in Zion" for they shall have been taken, as in seduced by the false messiah, the instead-of-Jesus who comes and spreads his flood of lies and deception in a spiritual storm that causes most Christians to fall in the great apostasy (2 Thes. 2:3) of the final hour. Unfortunately though, it is taught by most churches that the first woman taken in the field in Matthew 24:40 is taken by Jesus Christ in a "rapture", but such is not the case for it is written that he (or she) that endures unto the end, i.e. "that is left in Zion" after the flood of Satan's deception, is who shall be saved.

Matthew 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
The Greek word for "endure" is "hupomeno" which means "left behind"!
endure, hupomeno, hoop-om-en'-o, Greek 5278; from Greek 5259 (hupo) and Greek 3306 (meno); to stay under (behind), i.e. remain; figurative to undergo, i.e. bear (trials), have fortitude, persevere :- abide, endure, (take) patient (-ly), suffer, tarry behind.
The subject in Matthew 24 concerns the signs leading up to the return of Christ in answer to the two questions the disciples asked Him: (1) when shall these things be? and (2) what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (Mat. 24:3). Jesus said among other things to look for, that it would be just like it was in the days of Noah in that most people would be drinking, as in becoming spiritually drunken with false religion (1 Thes. 5:7), and marrying, as in spiritually wedding themselves to the false messiah. Then when the great flood of lies and deception comes, they will all be "taken" away. That is how it shall be at the coming (parousia, nearing) of Jesus Christ, i.e. just before He returns. So don't you be that first one taken in the field! You remain steadfast in the Word of God and remain one who is "left (standing) in Zion".
Matthew 24:37-40
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

[38] For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

[39] And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The flood is going to come and take them all away, NOT Jesus Christ! They are going to be "taken", as in spiritually seduced and spiritually impregnated with Satan's flood of lies and deception before Jesus Christ returns at the sound of the 7th Trump. That is why Jesus said in Matthew 24:19 "And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!" He was not talking about natural child birth but rather the spiritual "taking" which is the seduction by the false bridegroom.
[40] Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Then (tote), meaning at the time of the flood of lies and deception, two shall be in the field. One shall be taken and seduced by the false messiah in the flood of lies and deception and the other shall "be left behind", enduring (hupomeno) and laboring in the field unto the end when the true Bridegroom comes. Those who are left shall be saved and have life eternal. Those who are taken in the deception shall remain dead (spiritually dead) until the thousand years of the Millennium are over at which time the last raising to life eternal, which is the second resurrection, occurs along with the perishing in the lake of fire of the incorrigibly wicked.

Let us return to Isaiah 4:4.

Isaiah 4:4
When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
Make no mistake about it, there is a great spiritual cleansing by fire coming in this final generation... and sooner than many might expect. Again, it is a cleansing by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of "burning" (fire)! Remember we read of that "burning" and "judging" in Rev. 18:8 concerning Babylon the great, "Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her"?

Both Peter and Paul likewise speak of the Lord's coming when His fire, the spirit of His truth and justice, the brightness of His coming, shall melt away the evil rudiments and burn up the wicked works that are in this world.

2 Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements* shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
If you remember that which is written in Hebrews 12:29 and quoted from Deut. 4:24, "For our God is a consuming fire", then you will have no problem understanding the "burning up" is spiritual, not physical!

Note: The word "elements" in 2 Pet. 3:10 is Strong's #4747 and should be rendered "rudiments", as in "evil rudiments".

Isaiah 4:5
And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
Just like the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night guided and protected the children of Israel in the wilderness (Ex. 13:21), so shall the Lord protect "every dwelling place of mount Zion", i.e. all those who love Him and serve Him. In fact, the word "defence" is "chuppah" in Hebrew and does not mean "defence" but rather "marriage canopy" or "bridal canopy", c. Psalm 19:5 & Joel 2:16. In other words, the Lord will gather His people under His marriage canopy and there they shall remain forever more. But beware and take heed because Satan comes first as the spurious messiah at the sound of the 6th Trump and he will have his own marriage camp and shall gather many dead (spiritually dead) to marry him instead of the true Bridegroom, and they shall enter into his camp. That right! Satan's vultures are going to come looking for the spiritually dead, the walking talking dry bones of Ezekiel 37, and gather whosoever will to the false-christ's big wedding party in Jerusalem. Matthew 24:28 "For wheresoever the carcase (dead body, i.e. spiritually dead) is, there will the eagles (birds of prey) be gathered together." Make sure you have the seal of God in your forehead and that you remain spiritually alive, i.e. as one who is "among the living in Jerusalem (Isa. 4:3)".
[6] And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
These are very comforting words from our Father for He shall be as a protecting "pavilion", a place of shelter and refuge! And you know what? We can have that tabernacle, that protection and refuge even now from the spiritual heat in these last days and from the flood of lies and deception Satan brings with him when he comes and takes the world by storm. You "see", when the Lord is your fortress and your refuge, your Rock of salvation, then you are completely protected whereas nothing and no one can come against you. As it is written in Romans 8:31"...If God be for us, who can be against us?" The answer is no one for our Father has all power in both heaven and earth! What a glorious time we have to look forward to when the King of kings and Lord of lords returns to this earth and brings true peace and true safety to this world. Until that time, it doesn't matter what roadmap to peace man may set forth, because there shall be no peace until the Prince of Peace comes and sets up His ruling kingdom upon the earth... as it is in heaven.

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
