Where are the "uplands" of Israel? Alaska sure fits that description, doesn't it?

Ezekiel 39:1
Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I Am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
Gog's in big trouble when he tries to come against the one nation under God. When the great "I AM" comes after you there is nowhere to run and hide.
[2] And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
"And I will turn thee back" should read "and I will lead you" because the Hebrew word used here is "shasha", to lead, not "shesh", meaning six. The Moffat Bible has it translated correctly:
"I will turn you, lead you on, bring you from the far north to attack the uplands of Israel..." (Moffat)
Where are the "uplands" of Israel? Alaska sure fits that description, doesn't it?

Notice also that God will surely bring this about. Remember how He "hardened Pharaoh's heart", meaning He caused him to be stubborn so that the plagues and miracles could be performed in the sight of the both the heathen and the children of Israel? God is in complete control!

Ezekiel 39:3
And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
It will be Almighty God Himself, and not man, who will smite this military machine. How will He do it? Naturally, very naturally, meaning He will use the forces of His nature just as He did on Pharaoh's army. Only this modern army isn't limited to horses and chariots on the ground which can be drowned in a sea, so this army gets great hailstones the size of a talent (Rev. 16:21), which is between 120 and 180 lbs. Think about how much damage massive beach ball sized hailstones traveling at hurricane speed could inflict. Do you think a fighter jet or even a ballistic missile could pass through a storm like that?
[4] Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
Good bye Gog! It's time you learn there is a God and it isn't you, and it isn't that deceitful liberal demagogue sitting in his temple in Wash... I mean Jerusalem, who gets so upset when he hears the truth! You and your puny little army that you think is so mighty will come crashing down from the sky when God simply flips the switch on His 'Manna Ice Maker.
Ezekiel 39:5
Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
Look oh Gog, it is written that you and your allies will be sprawled out upon the open field and left as a smorgasbord for the buzzards. God declared this long ago! This also means that no cities in this nation will be destroyed.
[6] And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
God will send the fire of His wrath (38:19) on the land of Gog, Magog, and all His allies too. WHY? Because He loves them and wants them to come to know Him! Let them learn the "hard way" and experience God's wrath in the temporary flesh so that perhaps their souls can be healed during the Millennium and they won't have to experience the lake of fire. Having experienced the first death, all people will have a better understanding of what the 2nd death is all about, won't they?
[7] So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Here again we see the positive two-fold purpose in the awesome defeat of the enemies of God while His children witness their own salvation from that enemy by the power of their loving, protecting Father. His plan is so awesome and so full of love for all of His children.Yet most who read these words which describe blood and death cannot SEE beyond the bloody flesh into the glorious spiritual work being accomplished by the Holy One of Israel!

Nevertheless, "that day", that final day of the 7th Seal, 7th Trump, and 7th Vial, is coming soon, for the Lord GOD has declared it! In fact, it is so sure to come that it is even written as history:

Ezekiel 38:8
Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
When Adonai Yahveh has "thus spoken", it will surely come to pass, and when we SEE what He has done for us, how can we help but not love Him?  The question is, "Can you see it now, or must you wait until your flesh dies, at which point you SHALL KNOW that He is Lord, but unfortunately the First Resurrection will have passed you by?"  You will need to go through 1000 years of training sessions learning the difference between what is holy and what is profane, during the Millennium, to be included in the Second Resurrection!.

In our next study, an interesting one indeed, we will complete chapter 39 and see how this final battle will be used in the Millennium as "food for thought" as the great cleansing of the land and the teaching of the lessons learned in the flesh age go forth into all the world, for the King of kings and Lord of lords will reign supreme in the Kingdom with those of the First Resurrection in His administration!
