"Capital punishment"

Matthew 19:18 .......Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder*.........

Note: Just for the record, so some people will see clearly and understand the Word of God,
we often see the 6th Commandment which reads "Thou shalt not kill" in Ex. 20:13
displayed on posters and banners by "do gooder" demonstrators
outside a facility that is about to carry out the death penalty of a convicted murderer.

Here in Matthew 19:18 we see the 6th Commandment correctly stated
"Thou shalt do no murder".

If one takes the time to check out the Hebrew word for "kill" in the 6th Commandment
he will find that it is "ratsach" which means to murder
just like the Greek word Christ used, "phoneus",
which also means to murder, as in premeditated (lie in wait) criminal homicide.

Here are the Hebrew and Greek words used in the 6th Commandment in the two occasions above:

kill, (Hebrew) ratsach, raw-tsakh', Hebrew 7523; a primitive root; properly to dash in pieces, i.e. kill (a human being), especially to murder :- put to death, kill, (man-) slay (-er), murder (-er).

murder, (Greek) phoneus, fon-yooce', Greek 5406; from Greek 5408 (phonos); a murderer (always of criminal [or at least intentional] homicide; which Greek 443 (anthropoktonos) does not necessarily imply; while Greek 4607 (sikarios) is a special term for a public bandit) :- murderer.

The penalty according to God's law for committing premeditated (lie in wait) "murder"
is the death penalty, i.e. to be executed and sent home to the Father,
and it is found in the very next chapter following the 10 Commandments:

Exodus 21:12-13 He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.

The Hebrew word for "put to death" is "muwth", not "ratsach".

muwth, mooth, Hebrew 4191; a primitive root; to die (literal or figurative); causative to kill :- × at all, × crying, (be) dead (body, man, one), (put to, worthy of) death, destroy (-er), (cause to, be like to, must) die, kill, necro [-mancer], × must needs, slay, × surely, × very suddenly, × in [no] wise.

If the death is accidental then the death penalty is not called for.

[13] And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.

Now you know the law of God
regarding the sentence to be carried out
on one who commits criminal homicide.
