Because Daniel Chapter 10 prophecies are not specific we make allot of speculations. Certainly there is nothing wrong with speculation for it promotes thought and consideration, but it is not given to us His servants to try to outguess our Father, but rather to watch and wait patiently because all things shall be fulfilled according to His timeline, not ours.
We have now come to the exciting 10th chapter of Daniel where Daniel is given a "revelation (Dan. 10:1)" concerning a war he saw taking place on the Tigris River in the first month of the year, which for those who understand our Father's solar calendar always begins on the Vernal or Spring Equinox* which falls on the 20th-21st of March. This is really interesting because here in this 10th chapter we have the time of year, the location of the Tigris River, the event of war, and even the players involved. For that reason, we will be presenting as speculation for your consideration that the events given in this 10th chapter have been happening in real time, right before our very eyes, even as we have been studying this great Book of Daniel.
Our Father has been so good to us in that He has given us the outline and overview of His plan for the final hour of this earth age even as Daniel was given to understand the awesome image of Nebuchadnezzar concerning the New World Order in these last days and to understand that it is brought down by the stone cut out without hands, which is Yahshua Messiah, Jesus Christ. He was further given a vision of the four beasts concerning the sum of the matter in the 7th chapter (vs. 1), which again is the New World Order culminating in its take over by the supernatural (the little horn and his angelic host) and then he saw the "end of the matter" when the saints of the most take the kingdom and possess it for ever and ever.
Now consider a point of logic. If we are in fact in the final generation, and we are because Christ gave us the key to determine when it began when He told us to learn the parable of the fig tree, then when we read the prophecies in Daniel and elsewhere in our Father's Word concerning the time of the end, we need to be looking at (watching) currentevents, for Jesus Christ told us that all these things shall become history in our generation, i.e. when He said this generation shall not pass away till all these things be fulfilled (Mat. 24:34). You either believe the words of Jesus Christ that they will come to pass, or you don't.
One final thought before we return to the scriptures. We have been teaching the Book of Daniel for years now and have presented much of it as speculation, simply because the events that Daniel saw in the visions are for the latter end. Certainly there is nothing wrong with speculation for it promotes thought and consideration, but it is not given to us His servants to try to outguess our Father, but rather to watch and wait patiently because all things shall be fulfilled according to His timeline, not ours. Remember Jesus told us in Mark 13:29, "So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors."
Therefore let us keep an open mind and consider what we read in this incredible 10th chapter of Daniel with what has and is taking place at this very time, for we have a perfect fit, a perfect overlay. So let us ask for wisdom and guidance in both our teaching and understanding of His Word, and let's begin our study with Daniel chapter 10 verse 1.
It is important that we keep in mind that Cyrus king of Persia was one of only three men named by God before they were born and he would become the king God would use to issue the decree for Judah to go forth and reestablish the city of Jerusalem, and even though he was a gentile, we have well learned so far in this Book of Daniel that God uses whomsoever He will to fulfill his plan. Also, the "revelation" Daniel received in verse one occurred in the third year of this king Cyrus and it is the last date given in the book of Daniel, which is a benchmark giving us the time and the location of the vision of the warfare Daniel saw. To wit, Dr. Bullinger points out in the Companion Bible that "the time appointed was long" should read "but concerned a long warfare" or "concerned a warfare, a long way off". That is because "time appointed" is the Hebrew word "tzaba" which is generally rendered "host" or "army" and is used here as a figure of speech, a Metonymy, for warfare. And would you believe that we are going to find out in the fourth verse that this warfare took place on the Tigris River in the first month of the year! Hey, that should perk up our eyes and ears in light of recent events, wouldn't you think?Daniel 10:1
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
There is no way that you cannot take a second look at this being that the timing, and the location, and the event of war, and even the players here in Daniel chapter 10 coincide with what has been happening on the Tigris River in the land of old Babylon recently. Talk about an exciting time to live!
Now, we know that there is war in both heaven and earth and we know that Michael is soon going to cast out Satan and his regime from the gulf in heaven to this earth. It should become apparent that this 10th chapter is given to us to remind us how close we are to that day when see the type take place, and from our "understanding" of what is happening on a spiritual level, we might be strengthened to endure that which is yet to come to pass according the prophecies of Daniel, which is the entering in of the little horn, Satan as the false christ, the abomination who makes desolate! So make sure what you see happening before you on the physical plain you are able to "see" on the higher spiritual level as well to know and understand how late we are in the season, as in how "nigh we are".
Let us also remember the symbology we were given back in chapter 8 telling us who the two horns of ram were that stood by the river Ulai, the pure living water. Do you remember? They were the kings of Media and Persia. We were also told that the king of Grecia was the he goat. Well, we are going to see the leader of the kingdom of Persia as well as Grecia in this 10th chapter and there is no real basis giving us cause that we now should change the interpretation that was specifically given to us of who they represent.
Nevertheless, we have seen that Daniel was given a revelation concerning the 70 weeks and he understood the first 69 concerning the birth of Messiah. It was that last week, those last 7 years, that he did not fully understand and now two years later from the events of chapter 9 he is being shown some specifics of what shall come to pass and befall his people in the latter days. Also, 73 years have now passed since Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were deported and Daniel is 89 years old.
However you wish to prophetically consider these 3 weeks of 7 days (7+7+7), which is 21 days, during this time Daniel was praying and studying God's Word and making supplication for his sins and the sins of his people Israel. In other words, this mourning or lamenting was on behalf of his nation that he loved so much which we find documented in the last chapter. In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:
When we depart from our Father's Word then we reap the consequences thereof, which are those curses we read of beginning in Deuteronomy 28:15. Now notice how dedicated Daniel was in his mourning for this period of three whole weeks: Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
These three whole weeks immediately precede what happens in the next verse where we read that Daniel has been by the side of the great river which is Hiddekel, aka the Tigris River!Daniel 10:3
I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
The river Hiddekel is only mentioned twice in God's Word, once in the beginning as a river which flowed from the garden of Eden and once at the end where we see warfare taking place. And as we just read, Daniel has been by the side of this great river Hiddekel, which is the Tigris river of today that delineates the border between Iraq and Iran, the location where from the years 1980 to 1988 a bloody eight year war that took place that cost the lives of over one million people. We also had Desert Storm I in this same region a few years ago. That war was never really finished in the sense that it ended with a cease fire, not a surrender, and not with a regime change. Well, that has all changed now as the two horns of the ram, Ephraim/Great Britain and Manasseh/USA, passed over the land and the Lord gave both the capital and the kingdom into their hands. By the way, Baghdad sits right on the Tigris river in that land of old Babylon! And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;
* Those with eyes to see will find it interesting that the desert storm was held back "12" years for that is the number of governmental perfection used in Revelation chapter 7 where the four winds are held back until the sealing of 12,000 from each of the tribes of Israel is completed. It is also important that we observe that the 24th day of the first month is 10 days after Passover and 3 days after the Days of Unleavened Bread. Passover is always on the fourteenth day of the first month and from then until the 21st day of the first month our people were to eat unleavened bread. Exodus 12:18 "In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even." "24" is also the number of the priesthood even as there were 24 courses of the priests and 24 elders.
White linen is symbolic of purity and righteousness! Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
We can read this same description in Revelation 1:14-15. His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
As we would say today, Daniel was emotionally drained, "sapped out". Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
It is said twice in this chapter to Daniel that he is a man greatly beloved by our Father. Imagine how much comfort that must have brought to Daniel in hearing those words! That should take the minds of those with eyes to see to Revelation 3:9-10 where it is written concerning the church of Philadelphia, the church of the brothers and sisters, the sons and daughters of these last days, that God loves so much because they love to study and keep His Word! Be comforted also by those words. And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
Notice in verse 11 that Gabriel was "sent to Daniel" to give him understanding and as we will also see, to strengthen him. So Daniel is now standing, but he's totally awe struck by what is happening and thus he stands trembling.
To chasten yourself before your God is to discipline yourself in His Word, something that He very much loves to see His children do. Again, our Father loves His children very much and we learn from that which is written here in this 12th verse that He hears our prayers even before we are done praying them. So be patient and wait on the Lord for He has great purpose in all that He does! Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God , thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.

(Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.)
*I refer to the fact that President Bush has the purest royal blood lines running through his veins of any president ever, including the first George W. whose chart showing his royal descent from King John and nine of the twenty five barons sureties of Magna Carta is available from the Library of Congress. See the short study titled "Corvus" for documentation. Here is an excerpt:“[Bush] is closely related to every European Monarch both on and off the throne,” says Brooks-Baker. Some of the governor’s royal kin include Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen Mother, Dutchess Sarah “Fergy” Ferguson and even the late Princess Diana. His most prominent ancestor may be England’s King Charles II, who shared the governor’s vision of a strong military. Going back nearly 1000 years, Brooks-Baker points out both the Bush and Pierce families [Barbara Bush’s maiden name is Pierce] were high society. “Not one member of his family was working class, middle class, or even middle, middle class,” he notes."And now will I shew thee the truth...
"The collapse of Saddam Hussein's regime will send shockwaves of joy and alarm around the world. Although the war is not yet over, the fall of Baghdad means it is all but won. In 21 days, US and British forces ended 35 years of Ba'ath party misrule and the towering tyranny of one man. http://www.guardian.co.uk/leaders/story/0,3604,933473,00.html."
Anyway you want to look at or speculate concerning the prince of Persia noted here in chapter 10 (for we formerly taught that he is a type of Satan because Gabriel is an angel who would not be fighting against a flesh man, though he is here confronting Daniel to strengthen him, isn't he?), let there be no doubt that the land of Babylon of today has been given into the hands of the latter day type of the kings of the Medes and Persians which we were given in chapter eight are the two horns of the ram, Ephraim and Manasseh, who today are Great Britain and the United States respectively. Is this not truly amazing? Again, call it speculation if you like… but I tell you this, even if you consider this solely as a type and an overlay, you should be touched and strengthened by it.
Again, do you not think the ram has had some divine help in fighting against the earthly type of the king of Babylon? Don't forget my friend, this is one nation under God!Rev. 12:7-9
And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
It is not even a close contest because our Father has ALL power in both heaven and earth. Remember the name Michael means "Who is like God?" Remember also how President Bush quoted from Isaiah 40:46? Have you read that chapter which is often called the second book of Isaiah because it introduces the Messiah? Just read the verse prior to the one President Bush quoted and you should be able to make the "Michael" connection! Isaiah 40:25-26 "To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: He calleth them all by names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; not one faileth." And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
You might also find it interesting to read about St. George, the dragon slayer! And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Yes, there will be war and fighting in heaven that brings about the entering in of the "little horn", the abomination of desolation, the spurious messiah, who is Satan who comes posing as God. This event WILL OCCUR before the true Messiah, Jesus Christ, returns at the sound of the 7th Trump. Read what the Apostle Paul said about this for you must understand the sequence of events if you truly want to understand the prophecies concerning the end of this age, and not be seduced by Satan and his angelic host.GEORGE m English
From the Greek name Georgios which was derived from the Greek word georgos meaning "farmer, earthworker", itself derived from the elements ge "earth" and ergon "work". Saint George was a legendary dragon slayer who was supposedly martyred in Palestine. He is the patron saint of England, Portugal and Catalonia. This name has been borne by six kings of England, two kings of Greece, and the first president of the United States, George Washington.
The subject is our gathering together with Christ at His return.2 Thes. 2:1-8
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
"That day" refers to our gathering back to Jesus Christ! It isn't going to happen today, guaranteed. Why? Because the son of perdition, the son who has sentenced to perish, must appear FIRST. That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
The "little horn" comes and exalts himself as God! He is the abomination who makes desolate, the one who appears in Jerusalem, the holy place, and claims that he is Jesus Christ the Messiah and performs great signs and wonders to deceive the whole world. Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Remember also how many times we've read of this already in the Book of Daniel? Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
Verses 6 and 7 read a little awkward in the King James. Paul is talking about the false-christ, who will come first (before Jesus) when the one who is holding him back let's him go, and he shall sit in the temple claiming to be God. Here is how verses 6 and 7 read from the Living Bible: And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
Everything happens according to our Father's timeline, when He says so! This goes for the time when Michael stands up and casts Satan, the son of perdition, out of heaven to this earth (Rev. 12:7-9).2 Thes. 2:6
And you know what is keeping him from being here already; for he can come only when his time is ready.
The one who is holding back the son of perdition, the little horn, the dragon, etc., ad nauseum, is Michael! We just read it in Revelation chapter 12. As for the work this man of rebellion and hell will do when he comes, it is already going on, but he himself will not come until the one who is holding him back steps out of the way.
Here's verse 8 of 2 Thes 2.
The "stone" cut out without hands is the Lord Jesus Christ, our Rock, who will come and smash this beast! Remember? And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Let us now return to Daniel 10 where Gabriel is speaking to Daniel.
Our Father sees to it that his beloved are well informed and in the know! This angel of the Lord, after being with the prince of the kingdom of Persia for 21 days, has now come to make Daniel understand what shall befall his people in the latter days. Since you and I are in those latter days, we need to pay close attention to what is being said.Daniel 10:14
Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
Daniel was so taken back by all this that he was totally breathless. For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
God gives His greatly beloved servants strength for endurance through the wisdom and knowledge of His Word, which is why Gabriel was sent to Daniel, i.e. to give him understanding of what shall befall his people in the latter days! He told Daniel to "Be Strong, yea, Be Strong", which is also what the apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians chapter 6. And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
He has given us His power, His truth and knowledge, i.e. His Word, which is the power to tread on (spiritual) serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. All we need to do is be strong in the Lord and use that power.Ephes. 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and (be strong) in the power of His might.
Gabriel now asks Daniel if he understands why he came to him. It was to strengthen him by his words of understanding. Let's repeat what Daniel just said: "And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me (Dan. 10:19)." Daniel repeated twice that he had been strengthened!Luke 10:19
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Hey, next up... the prince of Grecia shall come! Do you remember who the "he goat" was in chapter 8 that comes up close to the ram and turns on him with choler? Gabriel just told Daniel that is now going to go back and fight with the prince of Persia and when he does, lo, "the prince of Grecia shall come"!Daniel 10:20
Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
Before he goes though, Gabriel is going to show Daniel that which is noted in the "scripture of truth".with = #5973 ?im eem
From H6004; adverb or preposition, with (that is, in conjunction with), in varied applications; specifically equally with; often with prepositional prefix (and then usually unrepresented in English): - accompanying, against, and, as (X long as), before, beside, by (reason of), for all, from (among, between), in, like, more than, of, (un-) to, with (-al).
Remember it is written that when Michael "stands up" and casts out the real king of Babylon from the gulf in heaven, there's going to be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation. Why? Because the desolator himself will be present and doing his dastardly, wonderfully deceptive works and shall desolate the sanctuary and the host and cause the daily sacrifice to be taken away. Let's jump ahead to Daniel 12:1 and document the magnitude of the event once again. But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.
The good news, of course, is contained in the last two phrases of this verse. If you are one of His beloved, then your name is already written in the book of life and you have nothing to worry about. (Yes, God keeps books, Rev 20:12) You KNOW that the king of Babylon, Satan, comes first, before Jesus Christ returns, and claims to be Him, the Messiah.Daniel 12:1
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
What a time to live! It is an amazing thing to see our Father's Word come to pass exactly as it is written for it gives us great hope and peace of mind and indeed strengthens our faith (Not to mention it gives me Goosebumps!). Would be to God that our brothers and sisters could come to know and understand what is happening and what is about to befall our people in the final hour when we "see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place"! Therefore, let us be about the King's business and continue our labor of love for our families and our nation and remember to put that gospel armor on and keep it on and "Be Strong, yea, Be Strong!" We have a great spiritual battle yet ahead of us, but let us always remember that He will strengthen us... for we have the victory in Him!
God Bless our Troops who serve the cause of freedom!
Jesus said, "the book of Daniel was where one could go read and gain understanding"Jesus Christ told us in Matthew 24 and Mark 13 when He sat upon the Mount of Olives and gave His disciples the seven seals concerning the knowledge and the events that would transpire during the final generation of the fig tree, that the book of Daniel was where one could go read and gain understanding concerning the abomination of desolation, that abominable desolator (antichrist) who would come stand in the holy place claiming to be God.
To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits;
to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
