Pamphlet 1676 Nahum kc 8-2

That fire which devours them comes from Almighty God who is a consuming fire.

In our last study "Nineveh", which means the dwelling place of "Ninus" the false god, was shown how easily the heavily fortified and seemingly invincible city of Thebes, called No'-Amon, the "City of Amon the false god", was destroyed. God therefore warns those of the latter day Nineveh to muscle all their troops and fortify all their strongholds because the King of kings is coming with His saints to make war (Rev. 19:11-16) and execute justice on that "great city" (Rev. 17:18), the city of the false god of false gods! We now continue with God's warning to Nineveh through His prophet Nahum:

Nahum 3:14
Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the morter, make strong the brickkiln.
Nineveh, you had better store up water (in case it gets cut off - a common military strategy) and fortify the walls of your strongholds with plenty of solid bricks and mortar because you are going to need all the protection you can get! (The irony in all this is for someone to actually think he or she can find protection from the One who made the sun and the moon and the stars and hung them in outer space! Go figure!)
[15] There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the cankerworm: make thyself many as the cankerworm, make thyself many as the locusts.
That fire which devours them comes from Almighty God who is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29 "For our God is a consuming fire." Fire is unique because the very same "fire" can both purify or consume altogether depending upon that to which it is applied. For example, if you apply fire to gold it will cause the impurities in it to rise to the surface thereby making the gold more pure. However, if that same fire is applied to a pile of sticks or straw... POOF, it's gone forever and ever!

In verse 15 the two phrases "make thyself many" mean "Though thou be many or numerous". In other words, although that locust army has grown to be many by the time the King of kings and Lords of lords returns, His "eyes as a flame of fire" with a "sharp two-edged sword proceeding out of His mouth" shall utterly destroy the great "locust army"!

[16] Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and fleeth away.
[Though] you have multiplied your merchants* above the children of God, just as quick as the cankerworm sheds its skin and flies away, so shall your whole locust army be GONE... as in POOF!

* Note: The stranger within, i.e. the kenites who are traffickers and merchants, have gotten "high above" the children of true Israel, the stars of heaven, through their exercise of the power of the Four Hidden Dynasties, particularly through the extraction of usury and taxation in our debt-based economy made subject to their "central banking" empire! God WARNED us not to stray from His Word and His commands or we would be made subjects to the taskmasters!

Deut. 28:43-44
The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.

[44] He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

Nahum 3:17
Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
Cold inhibits the flight of locusts so they camp in crevasses and walls (hedges) but when the "sun ariseth" and things "heat up" they take off and fly away! It is interesting that the word "hedges" used in this verse also means a "sheepfold", as in the true house of Israel.
hedges = gederah, ghed-ay-raw', Hebrew 1448; feminine of Hebrew 1447 (gader); inclosure (especially for flocks) :- [sheep-] cote (fold) hedge, wall.
In other words, the locust army camps in the house of Israel and devours the vineyard but when Fire and Heat come down from heaven the locusts shall be GONE! By the way, the "crowned" locusts, those fallen angels who come with Satan when he is cast from heaven (Rev. 12:7-9), are also spoken of in Rev. 9.
Rev. 9:7
And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.
Their crowns just appear, i.e. look, like gold but when His fire touches them they will go POOF! Also, this verse documents that we are not talking about actual locusts, as in insects, but persons.
[8] And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
Again, this is an analogy which has nothing to do with actual hair or teeth but rather figuratively paints a picture in our minds of how these "crowned" locusts appear gentle as women but they will chew you up spiritually and rip you to shreds! You see, they will appear as "angels of light", i.e. as ministers of God. The next verse documents it:
[9]And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
These "breastplates" are not breastplates of armor but the breastplates of PRIESTS! The Levitical Priests wore breastplates with the 12 stones of fire on them, representing the 12 Tribes of Israel! Furthermore, these crowned locusts have a king over them, whose name in Greek is Apollyon, which comes the word "apollumi" meaning "to perish"!
Rev. 9:11
And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
