Pamphlet 1465 Hos kc 15-5

Luke 4:4 "And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written,
That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."

Hosea 9:9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

The Lord God shall soon pay a visit to this final "faithless and perverse generation (Mat. 17:17)"!

And the good news is that there will be a great feast, a feast of the first fruits, even a great wedding feast.

But not all who cry Lord, Lord, i.e. not those who just acknowledge that Jesus is Lord, will enter therein
"but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 7:21)".

Do you remember the question your Father asked in verse 9:5?

Hosea 9:5 What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
It could well be asked, "What will you be eating on that feast day?"

That depends on what you eat now!

John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Believers are "doers of the Word", not just "hearers of the Word".

They are those who hunger for the true bread of life.

[48] I am that bread of life.

[49] Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

Man cannot live (eternally) on any other "bread", even angel's food (manna).

Luke 4:4 "And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written,
That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."

Does the flesh body teach you anything?

How about, "You cannot live without eating!"

Looking at food, singing about food, even praying about food, won't cut it!

You must eat it and digest it!

That applies both physically and spiritually.

John 6:50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
If you do not eat this bread, you do not truly believe, and harvest day will bring you no joy!
[51] I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread,he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

Editor's Note: You sure don't want the Lord to return and find you in the the midst of the garden spiritually eating swine's flesh, do you?. (See Isaiah 66:17)  You do know who the tree in the midst of the garden that God warned Eve not to listen to was, don't you!  (See Genesis 2:3).

If you read this entire 6th chapter of John you will learn
that "Seeing (as in miracles) isn't believing"!

"Show me a sign, show me a sign, they cry!"

No, "Eating is Believing!"

That should make perfect sense if you have any sense.

You are not what you see, you are what you eat!

The conclusion of the matter is,
and the lesson taught over and over and over again is,
that only the Word of the God gives life!

Do you have that Word in you?

John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
What's for breakfast?

To study the Bible is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.
We pray that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you accomplish both.
