Zechariah chapter 10

One of the prophetic signs Jesus Christ gave His disciples concerning the final generation of the fig tree was that there would be famine in the land (see Mat. 24:7, Mark 13:8)! However, Christ did not elaborate on nor give the details as to what that famine would be, so most people, including most ministers and pastors, just assume He meant there would be a famine for food!

Unfortunately they do err not knowing the scriptures because the Lord GOD Himself plainly states in the Book of Amos, written there openly for any and all to read and clearly understand, exactly what the great famine of the last days is:

Amos 8:11
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
Stop and think about this a minute. These are not the words of Amos but rather the words of the Lord GOD, as in "saith the Lord GOD"! Yet most Christians have never heard these "words of the LORD" concerning the famine of the last days and now you know why! It is precisely because of the famine itself! You see, most preachers and pastors in this nation do NOT teach His Word chapter by chapter and verse by verse, so our people are spiritually starving to death! The preachers and pastors are therefore part of the PROBLEM, aren't they? And we are going to discover in today's study that our Father is not too happy with them! WOE!
[12] And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
One can find lots and lots of churches scattered from sea to shining sea, but the insides of most of those churches are void and empty (Beth-avens, houses of emptiness) because all that is taught there are the empty traditions of men. To wit, Jesus Christ expects much more from His disciples than to wander about aimlessly, as evidenced by the fact of what else He said in Mark 13, in vs. 23, "But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things." You want answers to your questions? Then go directly to Jesus Christ, to the Word of God, and seek Him and ask Him. That is where the answers are to be found! Let Him tell you "all things" and then you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free, free from anxiety and worry and confusion and free from the bondage of the traditions of men.

To that end, at the conclusion of our study of chapter 9 we asked the question "Do you want be part of that "ensign" He shall lift up on Mount Zion in that day for all the world to see? Do you want to know Him and serve Him and be a part of the ruling crown of His dominion, a gemstone in the diadem, one who shall carry His power and authority and execute justice with His "Rod of Iron"? Then you must be willing to forsake the traditions of men taught by the false shepherds of our people and ask the only One in all the universe who is able to open the seals of His Word to your understanding. For it is written that there is no man or woman or angel who can reveal it to you, only the LAMB of God. Rev. 5:3 "And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon." The point is... it is time to STOP wandering about and time to start asking the LORD! Turn to Him, to His Word, and hear His Voice!

Let us now understand this from an analogy of nature itself:

Zech. 10:1
Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
You must ASK and seek the LORD in these last days, in this time of the latter rain, for it is He alone who can provide the blessed latter day rain and make the clouds bright with lightning to give His children showers of rain, i.e. to rain down His Truth upon them...meaning upon YOU!
Note: One should be somewhat familiar with agriculture and the growing of crops in order to fully understand the analogy God is making using "the latter rain".  While occasional showers fall all winter, the showers at the autumnal and vernal seasons were more frequent and more important. The early rain is necessary to prepare the soil for receiving the seed, but the latter rain which falls just before the time of harvest is of the greatest importance in producing a fruitful and bountiful crop! Deut. 11:14 "That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil."

The season of this final generation is now drawing to a close as we are in the time of the latter rain, the time just before the harvest when Jesus Christ returns to thrust in the sickle and reap (Rev. 14:15). But remember! There is yet one to come, first (i.e. false-christ, the instead-of-Jesus), before the true Christ returns, who shall do much harvesting of his own... out of season! Jesus Christ cautioned us to take heed and pray that our flight be not in winter (Mat. 24:18), i.e. that we are not harvested out of season, and that we are not the first woman taken in the field (Mat. 24:40) who is taken by the false husband, the spurious messiah, not the true bridegroom! Of course, if you listen to the majority of the so-called shepherds (preachers) of our people they tell you to hope and pray you ARE the first one taken in the field. Don't go to the wrong wedding! The first wedding will be to the wrong Jesus, the false messiah!

Again, ASK the LORD, and seek the truth from His Word, not from empty (of His Words) wind bags, dreamers of "fly-away" theories, and those who take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. Do you know what taking the name of the Lord thy God in vain means? It means to claim you represent Christ, i.e. come in His name as a Christian preacher, teacher, priest, etc., and teach vanity to His people, the empty traditions of men, church this and church that, instead of teaching God's Word chapter by chapter whereby His sheep are fed the true bread of life! If you are a shepherd who follows traditions of men, then you better pay close attention to what your Father has to say in these next few verses!

Zech. 10:2
For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
The Hebrew word translated "idols" is "teraphiym" which is a family idol, even idolatry, and idols cannot make lightning or rain to fall or cause anything in the field to grow! Go ahead and "ask them" instead of the LORD! Or go ahead and listen to these diviners who claim God speaks to them and tells them someone out there in TV land has real bad arthritis in his or her hands and God is healing them right now! Have you ever ASKED the LORD concerning this matter of their claim?
Ezekiel 13:3
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
They follow their own spirit, their own mind.
Ezekiel 13:7
Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?
God says concerning these vain (empty) visions that they are speaking LIES! They claim the LORD said it, but the LORD says He didn't speak to them. Now just who are you going to believe?  They need to know from the Word of God that they are in big trouble lest they cease from taking the Lord GOD's name (Jesus Christ) in vain, to speak vanity (emptiness, nonsense) to His children while they starve them to death.
[8] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.
Let us repeat Zech. 10:2 for this verse says so much.
Zech. 10:2
For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.
We already covered the biggest "false dream" told by the false shepherds to our people, and that is the one Margaret MacDonald envisioned of the any-moment pre-trib "Rapture of the Church"! That false dreamed-up doctrine gives a vain sense of hope and security to many of our brothers and sisters, even to the point many are told they do not need to study the Book of Revelation because they will not be here when all those events take place! That is just not scriptural! It is a bunch of "hot air" which is pretty much what "comfort in vain" means, though it literally means "give vapor for comfort"!

But the main point we need take note of in Zech. 10:2 is the scattering of our people because "there was no shepherd"! Where are the true shepherds who lead their flocks to the rich green pastures of His Word? Our people are so "lost" because their pastors have let them starve that they do not even know that many of them are true descendents of Jacob, children of the true House of Israel. Those 10 northern tribes went north over the Caucasus Mountains following their captivity and migrated by way of greater Scythia and became know as Cimmerians, Celts, Normans, Danes, Saxons (Saac's sons, i.e. Isaac's sons), etc. They settled in western Europe, the British Isles and later emigrated to the America's.

Yes, God's sheep have gone astray because of the lack of true shepherds. Ezekiel records the same sad story concerning the shepherds.

Ezekiel 34:5
And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

[6] My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

What does God think of those shepherds (ministers) who leave off teaching His Word and instead substitute religious ceremonies and do-gooder deeds as one's duty to God?
Zech. 10:3
Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.
God is against the shepherds and He punishes the leaders. But He will not forsake His people for the LORD of hosts is going to take the sheep out of the idolatrous hands of the false shepherds and make His people into strong, powerful, Christian warriors!
Note: The Hebrew word translated "goats" is "attuwd" which means "leaders of the people".

In other words, God is going to turn His sheep into mighty warriors, to wit, the army of the living God who shall bring forth the latter rain, i.e. His Word.

[4] Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.
Let us further define what these terms mean. Corner = Cornerstone, Nail = Tent peg (of the Tabernacle), Battle Bow = Weaponry that wins the battle, as in His Sword, and Oppressor = the Governor. Although Christ is the Chief Cornerstone and the fulfillment of all these things and the One who fights our battles and gives us the victory, He shall bring forth His elect, His mighty army, and give them His Power to tread down their enemies and go forth into the battle and fight. (Luke 10:19
 "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.)
[5] And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.
If you try and go it alone you will be in big trouble. It is not we who have the power to tread down, but the power and might of the Lord who is with us, the Word of God! He shall be with His people and give them the victory in the battle just as He did the faithful shepherd lad, David. And the riders on those four horses in Rev. 6, the powers of the Four Hidden Dynasties, shall be confounded in the day of the battle.
[6] And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them.
He will strengthen the House of Judah and save the House of Israel. (Joseph through Ephraim and Manasseh was the largest of the 10 tribes of the House of Israel and is put forth here to represent the whole house, much as America and Great Britain represent the 10 tribes today.) It is written in Ezek. 37 that the two sticks (branches) of Judah and Israel will be joined back together when Jesus Christ returns.

And He WILL HEAR (meaning to respond or answer) them when they finally ASK Him, realizing that only He can make the rain come down. Do you want to be a part of the mighty army who shall lead His people to victory? Ask Him NOW and seek Him NOW through His Word. He is putting His mighty army together at this time!

Zech. 10:7
And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD.
It doesn't get any better than that!
[8] I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased.
What this says is that God will "whistle to them and they will come running home"! In other words, when He is ready for you He will call you. Until then, wait upon the LORD.
Note: "Have increased" means as in former times, i.e. as the type once set forth.
[9] And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.
God sows His elect, His mighty ones, among the people to teach His sons and daughters, to give them hope, and in that day His people shall turn again, which means they will return to Him! It truly is a marvelous and wondrous plan!
Zech. 10:10
I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them.
God will use His elect, His mighty spiritual warriors, to bring His people out of the oppression (Egypt) and captivity (Assyria) of the beast, the One World System in these last days. And He shall bring them into the holy land bounded by Gilead on the east and Lebanon on the north. There will be so many of them that there will hardly be room for them (i.e. a place found for them). This is just a figure of speech giving emphasis to the fact that there will be many multitudes of His people gathered.
[11] And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away.
This analogy is to the Red Sea when the waves in the sea were held back and His people passed through on dry land and Pharaoh and his chariots were destroyed. The scepter not just of Egypt but of all nations, i.e. the stronghold of New World Order, shall be taken away and given to the King of kings and Lord of lords whose saints shall be made kings and priests to rule with Him for a thousand years. The good news is that oppression and captivity (Egypt and Assyria) will forever cease from ruling over His people for they shall be free forevermore as One Nation Under God.
[12] And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in His name, saith the LORD.
Wherever they go they will carry His name and His authority with them. For they shall be kings and priests of God!
